P U R P L E. Really?

(smiles)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fits in with the patch we're in Dags lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha Ha very funny.
I like the home one though.
and the yellow throwback, even if it is a little arsenal like!

Agree0 Disagree0

Great comeback Simon, love it.

On that basis, Arsenal's home shirt next season will be dark brown because we are playing like sh*t, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Purple is my favourite colour and I used to play in nets so perfect for me

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant dags.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Dags read your post on our site a lot think your a closet LFC red ha ha any way about that purple shirt I am lead to believe the shade of purple used on the shirt was matched from Ferguson's nose .

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you RedTwist.

Albeydered, no chance, lol.

Sick to death of people saying decent players don't fit our style of play? Surely before Sturridge came he didn't technically fit the system, but he's been coached and developed as a player to play well with us! He's quick with good movement and that's why he fits now! Me for one would like a plan b, Rodgers has tried many different systems this year, which have worked mostly, but I think we need a player who adds another dimension in case we need a goal! Swansea played with Grahame under Rodgers and he profited, and with out flair i'd see someone as poor as Grahame scoring 15 or so a season for us as a sub!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have to agree with u on this although not on the Danny graham type quality player would fit . We don't always need an interchanging 3 forwards as people suggest everyday . Look at bayern if there 3 floating forwards muller Ribery and robben isn't working they put on mandzuckic . People say lukaku can't play with Liverpool but look at him for Everton he played right forward against arsenal and nothing but plaudits came his way . I would just like a different type forward in our squad

Agree0 Disagree0

So we have the best goal scoring tally in the league yet your complaining about the strike force? If we had been better at defending then we would be ahead by a mile!

Agree0 Disagree0

Irishlloyd, under no circumstances would I want Grahame haha, just an example of am average player! And yes redtwist, this season it has been exceptional, but with champions league and hopefully a cup run, we will need rotation and a decent striking option off the bench or to start occasional games is a must for me!

I'm not sure where to fit him in but Lucas may be a surprise starter on Sunday, remember when we played city last season or season before and I am sure I recall Lucas won 100% of all duels with Toure, tackles and headers. don't think many can boast that against Toure.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He could start as he left off at West Ham, but my thoughts are going for city with all guns blazing with both sterling and Coutinho and trying to our score them, a dilemma Brendan must solve, overto you BR.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lucas in a 3 with Hendo and Gerrard for me. Looked much more solid against West Ham. City have lots of runners from midfield and we need players that can track the runs and break up play

Agree0 Disagree0

GO
As much as I can understand what you are saying I think it is more important that Citeh worry about us. We should pllay the way that has got us into 1st place instead of altering for their players. Cheers.

Agree0 Disagree0

The great thing about Lucas is he started as an attacking midfielder, he was turned into a defensive one under Rafa. It's in his DNA to play forward, hence the reason so mant thought he was useless back then. So now we have a player who can slot in to the midfield however needed. I'll admit much better DM than AM but more than capable at both.

hi everyone.im not trying to start any fires, but was curious on your thoughts.i have spoken to quite a few everton, spurs arsenal, manu chelsea and city fans and the vast majority say the same thing.that if their club can't win the league they want city to win it, and yes all my manc friends also.i would be curious to see your replies as I would have thought lfc being the underdogs so to speak would get the vote, but certainly not where I live

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Everyone from where I live wants us to win it to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

From a Manchester United fan to be honest if we couldn't win it I wanted to either see you guys or Arsenal win it cause at least us you and Arsenal don't spend 100 million every year to buy titles

Agree0 Disagree0

Hardly surprising that City, Utd, Chelsea and Everton fans don't want us to win the league three of them hate us and the other is fighting us for the league, I guess Arsenal and Spurs fans thought they were going to finish above us this year but expected City to finish top and can justify City winning it because of the money they have spent.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to say even the man utd fans I know here in Dublin are saying they'd like to see us win it, esp for stevie

Just spoke to my mate who's a City fan and will be in the opposition end on Sunday. He tells me that City have emailed him saying that they have arranged for a massive flag with both team emberlams on it and jft96. Just thought I'd mention it, touch of togetherness I thought.

He also said that their all up for it and will give us a run for our money in the singing department. I obviously replied, blue moon has nothing on YNWA lol

Really looking forward to this game. Let's make this the loudest Anfield ever and maybe this could really be our year

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tizer red .nice touch if true .and got to give credit to city fans, I think there the second best vocal fan in the prem .behind us

Agree0 Disagree0

Crystal palace are more vocal then city hands down! They have the loudest fans in the league, were most passionate but loudest goes to them

Agree0 Disagree0

City fans have always shown respect for the 96 even when its not the anniversary of the tragedy, other fans have often mocked but never City fans so respect to them always.

Hi Eds and fellow reds

Knowing that the game with Chelsea has got to move because of Champions league it seems that everyone is assuming it will be moved to the Saturday but there are games already down to be shown that day early and late kick off.
Obviously it cannot be shown at 15.00 as per the rules, so was wondering to fit in with tv scheduling etc where it could be put.
14.30 kick off an option straight after the 12.45 kick off
but I think it is going to have to be moved to a midweek at sometime to accomodate everyone.
Thoughts please.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why should it change. They play the 1st leg away on Tuesday 22nd then 2nd leg on Wednesday 30th April at Stamford Bridge. Chelski have got the best of the draws with an 8 day gap between legs.
Our game is right in the middle so there is no problem!
Also with our game against Crystal Palace on Monday 5th May there isn't a midweek available before end of season.

Agree0 Disagree0

The game is not being moved.

So I was just curious, with Agger back fit for the weekend who would you all play him or Sakho?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would play sakho if they start Negredo or dzeko. Otherwise, agger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sakho no matter who city start upfront

Agree0 Disagree0

Sakho as to Start. He is a better defender over Agger at the moment. If Aguero started Agger would struggle with his pace. Sakho as everything.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say I prefer Sakho too. Only for the reason that he is a beast. Agger can get pushed around too easy but people just bounce off Sakho. He does make me nervous some when he steps out of the back line but he seems to do it well.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would start dagger skrtel and sakho with Johnson an sterling wingbacks to deal with city's wingers/pace then Lucas Stevie and hendo cm an then the sas while attacking we will be 3 at the back an when defending 5. I believe they will start with just one up front. That leaves a stronger bench an plenty of room to change I like Flanagan just think maybe he might get caught out due to his pace. Any opinions.
SB96

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't see how you can leave Flanno out - on current form he'd be one of the first names on the team sheet.

Agree0 Disagree0

I get what your saying seano I think he's playing excellent I'm just worried about the pace thing only if navas plays his side I'll be worried but if it's Silva I'd be happy because Flanagan reads the game well an cn deal with Silva that's how highly I rate him. I remember the 1st derby when he struggled against mirallas purely down to pace. That's what's worrying me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just an observation concerning Sakho & Agger. Agger is both taller and heavier than Sakho, but Sakho is always referred to as a beast.

I was quite surprised by this, and Stevie is taller and heavier than both of them.

Tingling about tomorrow now.

KBL

Agree0 Disagree0

Ah mate flanno is the red cafu leave it out

Agree0 Disagree0

Gerrard is not taller than Sakho or Agger. And Beast refers as much to natural aggression as size surely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agger is taller than Sakho but not heavier. Agger is lean Sakho is a beast. now do you understand the term beast?

I was playing football manager last night and my Liverpool team beat City 3-1 with goals from Sturridge, Sterling and Suarez. Was this a premonition from the mists of the technological ether? Probably not as Grizeman got their goal. I honestly have not been this nervous before a league game since 1989 but I have got a good feeling about this one, whereas in 89 as a 12 year old all I felt was a foreboding dread.
jft96. YNWA.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Did a certain dampness come with your "foreboding dread"?}

This is undoubtedly a big game, but, even if we lose the title is not over. City still have to go to Woodison.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is ken, a draw would be a better result for us than to loose

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken forget the insults, just make sure your pants are clean and even then just remember you're 'pants' in our run in. City will be a stern test for youse on Sunday. Always support the blue team against any reds.

I think Demicheles is not as bad as it is being suggested, and actually I feel he has performed really well after the Barcelona red card, infact better than Kompany.
For me the real threat is Navas and Zabaleta from the right, hope flanno copes with'em.

And don't you think guys both teams have a shaky defence as an unit and it is going to be who scores more, then why not go into the game all gun blazing with both cout and sterling in the starting eleven.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree. That said however, he needs to be the one of the back four we attack most. Do you agree?

Agree0 Disagree0

The real threat is silva, if we let him dictate the tempo in midfield then a win would be difficult

Agree0 Disagree0

@Benny Baller
You are right to suggest Demichelles should be the one to be attacked, but it won't be a cakewalk.
Its not there defence but how there wingbacks Zabaleta and Kolorov double up with Navas and Nasri to dart in those crosses that worries me. Gerrard would take care of Silva and hendo that of Toure but will Johnson and Flanno be able to block those crosses.

May be a Solution would be tolay Hendo and Sterling at side corner of the diamond to help our wingbacks.
What say guys?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd stay Allen and hendo at the sides. With raheem top of the diamond. I think zabaleta and cliche are too good. I'd focus our power down the middle.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will go with the Diamond tbh. Either way, we have to out score them.

Does anyone know what dates the new away and 3rd kit will be unveiled as I can't seem to find this via general web search. Loving the new home design, already got mine on pre-order

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hopefully City will have Demichelis playing, he's a catastrophe waiting to happen! And with our front 3 smelling blood at all times, it should be fun!

So with the Champions League draw being made this morning, is it now confirmed our game with Chelsea has moved to the Saturday (26/04)? Chelsea play their home game against Atletico on the Tuesday (29/04)! Can any of the Ed's confirm this please?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - You are mistaken about the dates.}

The return leg is actually "eight days later" per the a web site article, so will be on Wednesday 30th April, As Chelsea play Sunderland on Saturday 19th April, and us on Sunday 26th April, neither game will need to change.

Agree0 Disagree0

Zeddicus it's Sun 27th mate.

Ed's who do you think are Liverpools realistic targets?
A. Cole and M. Richards to help sure up the back?
Do we have funds to attempt to try and get one of athleticos top players, maybe koke?
Or will we return to the ukrainian wingers?
Do you think borini will provide back up for the front 2 next year or will we be looking to buy a new young foward, if so any thoughts on who?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts - I have said where I know of interest.}

11 Apr 2014 13:38:02
Hi Eds, can you offer any advice or guidance please? Do you have any idea how genuine Craigslist tends to be when buying PL tickets? I was trying to buy tickets for the Norwich game as it's not far from where I live and I just don't get the chance and have found some but they won't provide photos which makes me more than a little nervous.

Do you know of anyone who has ever been successful through this route or is it a bit of a list cause?

Many thanks

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Craigslist is simply a bulletin board - anyone can advertise pretty anything there. I would not part with any money up front for tickets for the MC game, particularly if cheap.}

Craigslist? Is that not a site in America that serial killers find there victims? I am sure I watched a doc on it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, appreciated. Too good to be true methinx but TV will have to suffice.

As for serial killers, I've never used it for my victims! :-)

Alright lads, have a slightly strange question here. Does anybody have a little superstition before matches? Mine is I have to wear the jersey we are playing in on the day, only started doing this after the West Brom game a couple of months ago and we've won every game since! So I will be wearing my red home jersey on Sunday!
Cheers,
ROI.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

ROI, I've tried everything tbh from wearing socks or no socks, crossing fingers, drinking lager or not drinking lager but one that seems to stick with me is that I must see the first kick of the game from the centre spot. I've also tried watching games laid on carpet and not the sofa and also pegs on each eye lid!

Agree0 Disagree0

I put on a little bracelet and then I pray that kens lucky pants are on

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't watch if we have a penalty, like I physically run out the room

Agree0 Disagree0

Went the villa match done the Anfield tour while I was there got a coin we hopped of some big teams since then thank you very much haha but ken started it to be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously the lucky pants, but it's not just the wearing of them on the day. There has to be some recognition of them on the day and they need to be appreciated. It involves a ritual ceremonial donning of the pants which if I described in detail it could be wrongly interpreted.
Everything is in place for Sunday. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't shaved since the end of February and I'm not exactly Native American so it's pretty thick

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken, glad everything is ok for Sunday. I take it the washing machine got fixed in time?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Walls,

Yeah the Zanussi man 'fixed' the washing machine but told Mrs Aguero it probably wouldn't last long. He was right. It has been working intermittently since then. I have managed a wash when it was working. It also worked this morning, but who knows how long it will last. Hopefully until end of May.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken do you think your bro is fit to play a full game tomorrow

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't had sex since the day before our 10 game winning run started. I'm not treating it as an omen, I'm just feeling sorry for myself!

PS/ I'm married and with the wife doesn't count.

Agree0 Disagree0

I find superstition to be an interesting facet of behaviour. Even animals are prone to superstition.

I recently retrained as a psychologist and so it fascinates me how often people feel they have control over things that they cannot control using behaviour which is completely unrelated. From a fan perspective it's silly though the placebo effect it can have on players is undeniable.

Aspas and Borini to leave, not sure about Renia and Skertl but that would mean a bit of activitiy in the transfer market come summer. Suso and Ibe t get game time with the League Cup. Liverpool are looking for a left back/winger, 1 striker, 1 centre back and 1 goalie should Renia leave. I heard a cheeky cheap bid for Adam Johnson from Sunderland is on the cards.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Reina was replaced last summer - he won't be replaced again.}

12 Apr 2014 22:57:49
I think the only time you heard that was when you shouted it into a cave and the echo came back. Can't see why we would be interested in Johnson at all. Very overrated

Hey Hey!

Right, I'm getting back to this topic of the day again!

So. should we play an extra midfielder like Joe Allen on sunday, or stick with the Sterling & Coutinho combination? taking in the consideration of the Man City team

Discuss!

Thanks a lot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This is a fascinating dilemma, last week I predicted that Allen would start at West Ham and was totally wrong, though Rodgers did make a change at half time, bringing on Lucas for Coutinho .

For me, it should be Allen to start on Sunday on the basis that, if we match them in midfield, Sterling, Sturridge and Suarez will rip them to shreds .

Agree0 Disagree0

For me I would start Lucas the same position he came on in. Then Raheem behind the front two.

I think this would give a bit more steel against Matic and Toure. Don't get me wrong Allen has done well an had a blinder up against Toure last year. But I would prefer Lucas ahead of Coutinho and Allen.

He has a potential world cup place up for grabs with Brazil and a potential title :-) So will be even more fired up.

Also I would like to see Sakho keep his place.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think He'll play the diamond and make sure our strikers can exploit the weak link DeMichelis. Sterling at point of diamond doing what he did against United - disrupting Yaya or Fernandinho. Lucas and Hendo possibly as the two in front of Gerrard. Couts & Allen off the bench to give us fresh legs if required.

Agree0 Disagree0

In fact you weren't wrong thinking that, Brendan said Allen was supposed to start but wasnt considered fit enought to start.

Honestly, I feel confident with any formation at the moment, I hope Flanno will keep Navas in his pocket!

Agree0 Disagree0

The main thing for me is getting to control of midfield and taking care of Toure. Toure is excellent, but his pace of game is slow he like to have time on the ball and likes to get his head up for a pass. He rarely ventures out of the centre circle, he goes forward 20 yards can drop back 20 yards that's his teratory. I think Hendo can give him trouble just because he has a million times more energy. Hendo or Allen and Gerrard or Stirling should dog him all game. Toure's position will be right in the centre of our diamond if we play that formation so loads of opportunities to get on him and pass him out the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Allen in for coutinhio

Agree0 Disagree0

Imo, we should defo start Lucas. 4-3-3. Coutinho or Sterling dictating the pace. We are obviously a serious threat in the final third(& counter), but Citeh are too. Nasri, Silva and Toure need to be locked down. Gerrard will be far too exposed else. Just my opinion, Brendan will have a master plan no doubt!

Hi Ed's now that its past 1st Sunday of April'14, do we still need to worry about Steven Gerrard's previous Yellow cards?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - After this weekend you can stop worrying.}

11 Apr 2014 08:04:35
Question for Ed02.

Will ken agueros pants get a winners medal if we win the league?

Only if his Unicorn gets a champions league winners medal.

Staying positive for all the coming games. No game is lesser in my view. Hopefully(IA) if we win all and go on winning the League do you (Ed's) think we can bring back Xabi Alonso as cover for Steven Gerrard. His Champions league experience will remarkable to keep up Top 4 and proly challenge Champions league next season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over the return of Xabi Alonso.}
