have watched kennys interview a few times now. i still cant see what the fuss is about. he said at the start of the interview im not going to discuss the ref decisions, i have not seen them up close (wegner does this every single interview.) then andy burton asks him about ref decisions regarding doni and jones incidents. if anyone is a t**t it is him.
NZL_red

Kenny should say some dunkirk spirit quotes, or have some quotes ready that have nothing to do with football. Just to mess with the juno's

any idea how gulasci has played and if there is any chance he may play because he has had more games

Watched him for Tranmere last season and he did well. No idea how he's done at Hull but John Achdeberg does rate the kid. FA Cup semi might be too soon though as he's only 21.
ALB

Don't think he's played much. Think they have a Young Arsenal goalkeeper in goal.

Which defeats the object of loaning him out to them really!!

Lyndon

Lyndon,
He played the whole first half of the season before getting a knee injury.
Really not too sure why we've recalled him as he is nowhere near full fitness and shouldn't be called on. Would've been just as good having Belford on the bench rather than risking hurting Gulacsi more by playing him.
Hull have a very primitive medical staff also, they don't prioritise or seem to care about players who aren't on contract with them (see Ayala for proof)

Cheers!

Lyndon

(4) Tottenham Hotspur 33 19Goals 59points
(5) Newcastle United 33 8Goals 59points
(6) Chelsea 33 18Goals 57points

Newcastle have a real chance of getting a champions league place. If they can start scoring goals. They need to make up 11 goals.

Man U - Villa Game. Villa are in a relegation battle and really need something from Man utd game or could find them selves being relegated.

Aston Villa - 35
QPR - 31
Wigan - 31
_____________
Bolton - 29
Blackburn - 28
Wolves - 22
_____________

Apart from QPR, the bottom 4 havnt spent on their teams.

"Newcastle have a real chance of getting a champions league place. If they can start scoring goals."

They don't have a problem scoring goals. It's at the other end where their problems have been..

Stone YNWA.

Would love to see Newcastle get top 4 ahead of spurs and Chelsea admittedly don't mind arsenal and they really deserve it after the abuse wenger took

Just to add to the Kenny's interview technique discussion, my Dad was in the SkySports office during the filming of Soccer Saturday a few weeks ago and was chatting to Charlie Nicholas about Kenny not being very cheery in interviews. He said that they have all talked to him about it but he doesn't listen to anyone and doesn't really enjoy mixing with certain people in the media. Just thought I would pass it on.

Scottish Fiend

Well Kenny should start Press Conference the same way SAF does. Just chuck out all the trouble makers. Job Done.

Not too surprising to be honest. I give him a lot of credit then for actually doing the media. He could just send out Stevie Clarke to deal with the TV interviews but he doesn't shy away. He does something he doesn't enjoy doing, and does it for the club. True legend.
RedChris

He chucked out the whole of the BBC for 3yrs for uncovering his and bum chum Alledyce's Son's Dodgy Business practice!!

I have said it a few times utd struggle when teams close them down quick, teams who sit on the 18 yrd line always lose.the premier league fear them to far to much but well worked Wigan

It's true, I can't remember the last time I watched a team take the game to United and not make them look extremely ordinary

ED, with real were to recall Gulasci who would be our number 1 vs Everton him or Jones?? -McMenemy {Ed001's Note - that would be up to Kenny to decide.}

Brad jones would be number 1, its his squad number, you cant go changing squad numbers midway thru a competition, its naughty.

11 Apr 2012 22:46:48
Hi ed. Got 2 guestions.ever wondered why REINA is not given the number 1 jersey and cant we have a page with liverpool fc stats eg goals, assists, minutes and games played would be awesome thanks.
Umaga(SA) {Ed001's Note - because he doesn't want that number. Not likely to happen, all the stats are on the official site and we don't have the time to maintain another page on here.}

I really enjoyed the game last night. We've played better football and lost. What was pleasing was the passion and commitment we showed last night, especially after going down to 10 men. This has been missing for a few weeks.

When I seen our starting line-up last night. I was glad that Steve didn't make the starting 11. He has been terrible for us in the last few weeks. I know he was rested for the semi-final but in all honesty, he hasn't been himself in recent weeks. And it seems when he's not playing,:we play better.

I still wouldn't leave him out on Saturday. No matter how bad he's playing he is a big player for the big occasions. That's why I would also start Kuyt on Saturday too.

Ed, I read earlier on rumours that you think we are targeting 2 strikers. Is this because 2 strikers are moving on (Carroll, Saurez)? And could the 2 strikers be Soldado and De Jong?

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

I'd be careful with Maxi he's obviously one for the Future!!

Lyndon

The Ed's all along have said De Jong is the likely candidate to replace Kuyt. I would imagine another arriving if Carroll left.

Ed02 always states that Gaston Ramirez or another playmaker rather than a striker may be targeted.

Personally I doubt that we'd sign them but I can see why Macca is suggesting Munain and Soldado are being considered. Both fit two vital positions in our first team for me. Ramirez would be a bonus to replace Maxi (if he leaves) and perhaps a replacement for Adam (again if he goes).

Papa G

Good post Blair. I'd like to see Maxi, Kuyt, Bellars and Shelvey start. I'd play,

Jones
Johnson. Skrtel. Agger. Enrique
Bellars Gerrard. Shelvey. Maxi
Kuyt Suarez

I'd bring on Downing for Maxi and Carroll for Kuyt after 65 minutes and save one sub back.

Only consideration was whether to start Spearing shift Gerrard to the right and drop Maxi or Bellars to the bench?
ALB.

ALB, we'd totally lose the midfield battle with Shelvey & Gerrard in a 2.

For me, we have to go for a 433; 442 never works on such a big pitch like Wembley's.

-----------Jones--------
Johnson-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
----------Spearing-------
-----Henderson-Gerrard---
Downing---Suarez---Kuyt

Stone YNWA.

How can anyone call subsitutions and the times they happen before the games even played, its normal to speculate on possible first 11 selection but to call the subsitutions is crazy, surely it depends on how the games goin or how players are playing, tactics?

I think Kennys interviews are great and they really make me chuckle. I am glad we have a manager that treats the press with the respect they deserve. We need a manager thats going to stick up for the club if are going to progress and will die for LFC.

By the way where is Eric Banterna and sir alex tonight maybe they are a little bit hurt. I am sure they will be supporting there team in the fa cup this weekend O sorry we knocked them out.

I am an everton fan, and I am not trying to cause a stir. I just have a question, how confident are you fans of liverpool making it to the final? As a blue, I am not too confident everton will make it because we never do well in the derby... May the best team win!

Thank you for proving Everton have some sensible mature fans

Personaly i think it's very much a fifty fifty game, we are not doing to well at the moment and you lot are, but a derby at Wembley form goes out the window, i just hope the game is'nt ruined by an early sending off or some stupid refereeing (which seems to be every game ATM), for either side.

Also think it's an absolute discrace the game is'nt on normal tv, the FA cup should be for everybody!

MR EM

Stats show us that Everton lose to Liverpool more time than they win. Its something to do with the fans expecting to lose to Liverpool football club. Liverpool being the bigger club in Liverpool. Everton will put their best players on the bench and let liverpool win. lol

Think we all think it will be close mate , would not supprise me if it goes to pens to be honset...............lfc

These sort of matches disregard all form, and as such, it's too close to guess. Confidence is usually derived from recent form, but you can't really take it into account when it's a match like this.

As far as confidence goes, what I will say is that if it goes to penalties, and my gut tells me it will, I don't think we have a prayer. However, I think it'll be open and there will be a lot of goals in it. I can't see either side being defensive about it, it'll be blood and thunder, and it shall be a joy to watch.

For some reason, I'm finding myself more confident in the side when we are level than when we are in front, because we keep throwing it away.

Falcao to Liverpool. 100 % certain
Haha I wish.
Gaz b

Not exactly unrealistic, he's playing for a smaller club with the prospect of no European football next year

It bloody is unrealistic

Smaller club? Clearly you know nothing about Atletico

Ed . Just wanted to ask is there any 3rd club/person ownership regarding Falcao . Was just curious because was talking to friend about buying Falcao instead of Carroll and he said there was some issue about this 3rd person or something .

AJI {Ed002's Note - No. And there was no interest in Falcao from Liverpool.}

Ed do you not think falco would be interested in a move to lfc but the price would be too high {Ed002's Note - Falcao will not be moving to Liverpool.}

Hi Eds. I was wondering what your thoughts are on KK and the manner of his press conferences. He seems tired, defensive and the season as whole has taken its toll on him, which makes me question whether or not he will be managing Liverpool next season. Any thoughts? Your views would be appreciated. YNWA {Ed001's Note - I just think he looks fed up with idiotic questions from a bunch of people that really aren't up to the job they are doing. Unfortunately the media aims everything at getting soundbites for morons to read the next day, rather than actually asking anything intelligent or worthwhile.}

So now ed1 everyone who reads a newspaper is a moran!!
Slightly offensive to I should think a large percentage of people who view this very site.

Lyndon {Ed002's Note - Much will depend on the paper that is read. I would think that he is not generalising all newspaper readers. Perhaps just those craving the soundbites.}

Point taken.

Lyndon {Ed001's Note - can you bring it back then please, I need it to poke those locked in the blocked cage.....}

Ed2 did you find the interviewer or Kenny as offensive as some seem to have.

Sorry if I've missed response from yourself
Lyndon {Ed002's Note - Actually Lyndon I skipped it. Probably a good thing.}

Lol.. Don't Blame you!!
You'd make a good MP

Labour obviously wouldn't dare use the C word on here!!

Lyndon

Why doesn't Kenny practice a few soundbites and feed the media. Like Carroll could be the next Gazza. lol

Take 3 minutes out of your time Ed02 & have a look. Your input is valued. I just want to know from a neutral if I'm missing something. Cheers

The Irish Rover {Ed002's Note - Tenderhooks but innocuous. It looks like the strain is taking a bit of a toll but too much over reaction to it.}

"Brendan Rogers" so this man that so called fans on here want to replace King Kenny . Not doing so well at QPR Tonight is he?

People raving about Brendan Rodgers while the far better candidate in Paul Lambert doesn't get a mention?

Stone YNWA.

United got beat tonight mate, that dosnt make Slur Alex a bad manager.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

What about martinez?? his wayyy to good for wigan if it wasnt for him they would be i league 1

I want Ian Holloway as manager and 4 cans of Scrumpy Cider for each player.

Paul lambert is twice the manager. Swansea already played great football before Brendan.

Non of thee above!

Why are players given time to develop, but managers aren't, Rodgers is showing his worth as a brilliant future manager, he has a squad that... let's face it, are not the perfect fit for his style of football, there are a few midfielders there that suit, but that's it. If he was given the cattle, he's be great in a few years time.

I say let's stick with Kenny, and when HE want's to call it quits in a few years, with a few trophies and champs league football, then pass on the batton to somebody like Rodgers, or Martinez. Good football secured for decades!

Red7.

Roberto Martinez. Great guy, nice football, will go onto to be a top manager. Hope its with us.

I always thought Roberto Martinez has done a great job at wigan, would be pretty happy if he was our next manager.

This page is actually depressing me today, We win the match and you are still moaning it wasn't pretty but it showed character. I just don't know what will please you lot. I was expecting to read today about congrats for Andy, praise for Jonjo and finally Hendo played well. But all of a sudden, the same old talk about Kenny returns. The interview was nothing bad. he shook a guys hand of screen and it was his own right that he didn't answer the question about the red card. Managers do it all the time to avoid saying something to get them into trouble with the FA. I think Jonjo showed that he will be a future star of LFC and Henderson showed that he has got something to bring to the table. Carroll also put in a decent shift. It was a good night for LFC. Doni was the only low point but we showed more character to keep battling. Why can't more fans see an improvement

Agree, as I thought we ground out the result last night, something we haven't done in a while and certainly showed that we wanted it more than they did! Maybe a good sign for the future.

Keith

11 Apr 2012 21:20:16
I must say the one thing that does annoy me about manager interviews is when they blame there loss on the referee. Steve Kean last night had a moan about Skrtel tangle and how it lead to the last goal when everyone saw nothing wrong and to me it sounds like putting the blame on the ref for his and the teams own short falls.

Kenny was asked about the Doni sending off and he chose to say " I don't want to answer that question" but what was he meant to say?? "Yes it was a sending off" that sounds like it's criticising Doni / Flanno or "No it wasn't a sending off" which makes him look foolish as it obviously was

I personally am sick of all the slating of Charlie Adam including some Eds.....all this he's not good enough for Liverpool.....maybe the Liverpool of the 80's!! Like most of the current crop they all seem to be in awe of Gerrard who seems to insist on the ball being passed to him......if Charlie Adam took a game by the scruff of the neck he would show his true class. You all seem to be living in days gone by....look at the table even Everton are above us and our bad run has coincided(look in a dictionary) with Chalie Adam being injured! He's quality so stop dreaming of all the new signings (we're mid table) and let's get behind what we've got!

Adam is nowhere near good enough if you want liverpool to have ambitions for the top. If you want liverpool to stay in midtable, then you can keep him.

Stats before the QPR match:
On average dribbled per match: 8
On average loss of possession per match: 12

Speaks for itself. He has an incredible left foot, but he doesn't have the intelligence to use it effectively or to compensate for his lack of mobility and pace. He has some assists to his name, but that doesn't make up for all his faults. "if he took a game by the scruff and neck"? He doesn't have the mentality to do that at liverpool, he hides when he should step up!

I looked in a dictionary and it said that an association does not necessarily imply a causative relationship

Have we really been that bad that Everton fans now think they're better than us? Aww nevermind, they've waited long enough after all. Its been what? 25 years or something? Anyway just wanted to say congrats to my 2nd team Dortmund for taking a big step towards defending their crown by beating Bayern tonight. If we were anywhere near as clinical as they have been all season we'd be right up there with the Mancs. Goodnight fellow Reds.

Bit late to the party I know but...

Full credit to the team yesterday (sadly, don't remember saying that too often this year!). They had every reason to mail in another poor performance:

* only meaningful game left in the season being a mere 4 days away
* based on recent performances, the obvious disappointment and disenchantment of the players and management
* most of the big names sitting on the bench
* the unbelievable string of back breaking incidents within the game
* in general, the negative aura surrounding the team and the beating they are taking in the media

It would have been so easy to look past Blackburn to Saturday...especially, after the red card. The fact they worked hard, were united and actually executed in the face of all of this, the team deserves full praise.

Let's hope this carries through to the F.A. Cup and we finish the season with Liverpool pride.

Digital Man

Good post Digi-man , but just maybe , there is more than one meaningful game left in this season ....

'That was the understanding we had before the game, and it doesn't change. I don't know why you ask these questions, you're just looking for stupid little things.

"We played very well and I thought it was a great performance by us, we didn't deserve that and that's three years in a row that referees' decisions have changed the game."

"When i saw who was referee, I feared the worst for us."

Just some of the more recent comments from Sir Moanalot Ferguson who as we all know conduts his interviews with the utmost grace and good will to all mankind, if he's not having a little tantrum and refusing to do so.
Lay the F*uck off Kenny, his interview was positively harmonious in comparison to any whiskey nose gives.

Cork Red Boi

I agree in part to what you say, i just wish kennys humour and charm would come over in his interviews, as we all know the media is a massive part of the modern game

11 Apr 2012 19:59:23
One of my bigger fears is that football is becoming commercial to the point that individuals (and by that I mean people who are free speakers and thinkers) will no longer be able to speak their mind, but instead must say only what they are told to say, to please sponsors, the FA or even their clubs own PR department. There are already alot of those sorts of mangers about, in fact, I would say the majority of managers are like this now.

I hate this. Where is the interest? We already know what is going to be said in the post match interview before it has been held. Boring and predictable, and, in my opinion, bad for the game.

In Kenny, we have a true individual. He is already shackled in what he can say in interviews (as all managers are) so as to not incur the wrath of the FA (also ridiculous!). So what if he loses his rag a bit in interviews. He does it simply because that is the sort of person he is. He is not a robot, but he is a hell of a man. I won't say that I'm proud of all of his interviews, but I AM proud of him. And I'm proud to have him as my manager.

Anybody who is embarrassed by him, or thinks he is a disgrace to LFC, I would take a look at what you are asking for. A member of the FA's PC brigade? We already tried Roy. Personally, I'm not a fan of Mourinho as a manager, and wouldn't like him at LFC, but I did appreciate his interviews. He too is a personality that in my opinion the game is short of, and in fear of losing all together.

So, kenny loses it now and again? Why? He cares about us and the team. Get behind him and cheer him on. The man is a living legend, and deserves our support. Nick.

Agree totally. All people have to do is go back 18 months and think about the interviews Woy used to give. I know who I'd rather listen to.

If we ground share what colour will the seats be? Half red - half blue or Purple which means Aston Villa and West Ham will feel right at home!

White I guess would be the neutral colour -McMenemy

The shirts will make the colour

Agree. Seat colours will only matter for everton games. There will be people sitting in them for Liverpool games.

Eds have you heard anything regarding soldado as macca says he is top target so I presume Liverpool have made their interest known and suddenly he benched and then totally dropped from squad something's got to be up as he isn't injured {Ed001's Note - that was before the interest anyway, apparently, having asked around he is likely to leave because of struggles to hold down a place.}

Red + blue = ... purple?

NO! to a ground share! {Ed003's Note - I agree,its like putting your bacon,sausages and eggs in the frying pan at the same time,end of the day it just doesnt taste right when you do it all together}

Why bother having colour on seats at all, just fill the ground and you can't see them anyway!

A few days ago I read on Italian teletext that UEFA president Michel Platini in an apparent attempt to ward off the threat of a European super league will propose to scrap the Europa League and enlargen the Champions League to 64 teams in 2016 giving 6 places to the 3 highest ranked countries in the co-efficient rankings.Is this true Ed? Red 2020 {Ed002's Note - He did propose it but it will never get the vote it needs, even if it does make it to a vote.}

Would be better to include cup winners than top 6 {Ed002's Note - You misunderstand. But don''t worry about it - it will not happen. Eventually there will eb a pan-European breakaway league - but not run by UEFA.}

He also at one time mooted scrapping the Europa (or UEFA as it was at the time) and Champions League and instead having all the qualifying teams in a straight knock-out random draw competition, one leg, settled on the night withh extra time and pens if needs be. Apparently the passion & drama of our FA Cup appealed to him. RED LENIN

Does anyone think that David Moyes pedigree of winning trophies (Liverpool senior cup 03,05 & 07) will have a bearing on the semi final this Saturday?

Moyes has been a great manager at everton, working with very limited resources. As a Liverpool supporter I respect what he has achieved and the way he has conducted himself.
We will beat them because we are a better team, not because of Moyes.

He's the modern-day Dario Grady - doing a GOOD job at a lesser club.

80% of fans on here are a disgrace, i'm all for criticism when its needed, but they way some of you insult the staff, manager and players.

Hope you don't kiss your mums with your mouths

its becoming increasingly harder to read these pages, and i have been reading now for about 3 years. One of the guilty pleasures being ruined by morans {Ed002's Note - Chris I empathise with you on this as today has been one of the worst for bleating and grizzling - even though the game was won last night. Light banter has been turning to abuse for no reason. We will just cut more and more until we return to normality. So don't give up hope.}

Brad Jones will do well for LFC on Saturday. He will enjoy his day out no matter what happens, who knows he may even do a dudek ?

This season has been such a rollercoaster that I really dont care what happens on Saturday provide we play well and show commitment.

Everton are flying at the moment and will be well pleased with the events which have unfolded in the last 3 games, unprecedented in our history, a conspiracy....maybe ?

Do we care ?..absolutely not!

Liverpool have always been their best in times of adversity and uncertainty. The team will play as one on Saturday, and Im sure they will ensure that Brad is protected...after all we do have one of the best dfences in the league. Pepe has not been at his finest in the last few months either.

We may just see the embryo of our future appear on Saturday, with our young players coming of age... I hope so but Im just happy to be part of a new era which Kenny is creating.

No other team in Europe puts on a spectacle in finals or semi finals like Liverpool do, and this time we have TWO teams from Liverpool in it ! We will also have 96 supporters helping us from heaven to add the all important emotional element that we need in our great team

I hope we win, I pray we win...but if we dont I will still pray for the 96 and enjoy the spectacle that is surely coming our way.

Let battle commence with the bitters, I cant wait !

Now this is becoming a bit of a joke! I've just watch the Sky interview with Kenny. What did he do wrong? What did he say wrong? When did he try to get away from the interviewer? He didn't do anything, he shook some guys hand & said alright during the interview, then continued his interview. He chose not to speak about the ref & the sending off! Big deal. It really annoys me that people jump on the bandwagon & act like sheep. I have to say I'm surprised at Steve Parker & his view on the interview. I gave him more credit than to write nonsense. Look for yourself! It's there on YouTube, just under 3 minutes.

The Irish Rover

Totally agree Irish Rover....Kenny did nowt wrong....anyway it was only Sly Sports so who really cares ?

Tel 1949

It was a tragic showing of arrogance which one would say he isn't in any position to act in that manner. Also disrespectful claiming you deserved all 3 points which if you watch the game you know that you didn't, and should have been down to 9 men

Stupid muppets, over reacting AGAIN

LTP the red

You see nameless poster with no balls, I expect this from you because you are not a Liverpool fan so I have no gripe whatsoever! I would do the same on another page. It's the Liverpool fans I have an issue with! Oh, by the way! Give your mouth a wipe! There's brown stuff trickling down the sides!

The Irish Rover

He wanted to get away, because there was another, more important, interview that he had to do.

Wouldn't it be a great story if Brad Jones was have the game of his life on Saturday and helped Liverpool get through to the F.A. Cup final?!

alwaysared

He may watch out for adams pen, thats due to come outa orbit soon

No not really, why would it?

Jeez I wonder? Maybe because he has had to go throught the most gut wrenching experience of anyones life and managed to end up playing football again? That man has shown more strength, resolve and courage than any of the Liverpool players put together all season and I think that if he does manage to help us get into the final he should go down in history. You are an inspiration to us all, congratulations on becoming a father again and R.I.P Luca.

Jonjo Shelvey is class that is all :D

Possibly highlight of the season
Seeing how much he's come on in a short time.
Going out on loan to Blackpool and actually playing all the time seems to of brought him on.

Should thank the man that insisted on rafa securing his services and regulalry scouting him in london whilst playing for charlton. take a bow KENNY DALGLISH

Do you think we will go for Clint Dempsey? He is proven in the prem scores goals every season has been consistent for Fulham every season. A player like him could well improve our team. But some Liverpool fans would rather have us buy some player with an exotic name and unproven in the prem who is priced over 20 million.

Emile Heskey , ticks all the boxes

11 Apr 2012 18:40:06
So who are the candidates you could choose from? Unfortunately for you your first choice,Ray Clemence is out of the running but here's five who could help Liverpool out.
1: David James “ Bristol City
It's the first name that springs to mind. Having lost his place to Andy Gerkin at Bristol City, James' is now twiddling his experienced thumbs down at Ashton Gate. He's done his time in front of the Kop and played at Wembley for Liverpool so he'd be perfect. Well, he would've been perfect if he hadn't been cup-tied
2: Steve Harper “ Newcastle
Having waited in the wings for his chance to topple Shay Given as Newcastle's number one, Harper has again found himself not only in the shadows of thesubstitutes bench but in the complete darkness of being left out of the match day squad all together. After a Championship winning string of performances two years ago, Harper has been overtaken by the outstanding form of Tim Krul, which eventually forced him to take a loan deal at Brighton earlier this season. There's no problem with being cup-tied either and he might even be worth a place in the starting line-up too.
3: Manuel Almunia
Whatever you think of Almunia, he has the big match experience to handle the big games. He may have seemed erratic at times but for this situation he could prove a canny, albeit temporary acquisition. Possibly the weakest and least reliable on this list but has appeared at Wembley before.
4: Craig Gordon
Looking increasingly likely to become an end of season casualty due to his high wages, Craig Gordon might just prove to be a more longer term answer to filling out Liverpool's strength in depth. It was always going to be difficult for him to live up to the ridiculously over-inflated fee of £9 million but injuries haven't helped his cause either. It might not be the best career move to swap the Stadium of Light bench for that of Anfield's but if it's not Liverpool, somebody else will definitely get themselves a bargain this summer.
5: Jerzy Dudek
This one's the left field option. After becoming the penalty saving hero of Istanbul, Dudek's life became one of serene siestas with the occasional appearance for Real Madrid thrown in. He may have retired at the end of last season but as long as he hasn't put away too much paella while he was in Spain, an encore from Jerzy may be the short term solution to ease Liverpool's red card crisis.

Well here it is just for the RS I have tried my best for you however
Is it worth you turning up on Saturday?

You will need to play as if you were down to 9 men...always hard but lets face it when you are up against real class ........

no bloody chance goodbye and thankyou kenny

Or Jones could have the game of his life?

Hi All,

It would appear we have a few anonymous keyboard warriors who took offense to the way KK conducted his interview with Sky Sports last night, no doubt United fans, but id like to make the following points in return:

1) Old Whiskey Nose has banned several media outlets from his press confrences because they have asked question he doesnt like, how infantile and arsey is that ?

2) The media is very quick to have a pop at KK over the way he conducts his interviews, SAF has been doing the same thing for 25 odd years and the media are afraid of upsetting him.

Get over it

G Baker

i'd like to reply on forum to this post,

why would it be so bad for us to ground share with Everton, if people say it cant work, why not, look at the milan teams, if anything it creates a more positive rivalry, both teams qualify consistently for the champions league. As G,Baker said, it will half costs, creating more funding for the team. and lets face it, in our precarious position now, it is the perfect time to create this partnership.

would we rather stability, money, happiness, or mid table, also rans, nothing to show but our history and a hatred towards a team in the same city.

JOIN FORCES, LET THE REVOLUTION BEGIN.

Have you not seen the bitterness on these sites mate a lot of them hate us & vice versa pure and simple, Wont Happen Ever, the yonks are against it as they know the Lfc fans dont want it...

Why the hell are people moaning about Brad Jones!....Hes always been a decent keeper and a good pro, in fact i doubt half the posters on here have even bothered watching him in the ressies where hes been quite impressive at times........Why oh why dont we get behind our players and manager anymore, im fearful for this next generation of LFC fans.......
YNWA JFT96 The Guv 81-9

Tell you why they dont get behind us.
1. they dont support us.
2. they have not got a clue about football, all they want is to win every thing now, insted of bulding the club

I remember watching Arsenal score a ridiculous amount of goals against Middlesbrough (6-0), with Lee Cattermole crying on the half way line and Brad Jones picking the ball up out of the net.

Never really thought he was solid. When we bought him i was gutted because he isn't the best, but fitted in with ''quota rules'' if i remember. (Which is a different rant for a different time).

Nevertheless, if he's in the sticks and playing for Liverpool, then he's a player who i support. I'm not going to delude myself, he isn't solid, but he's the man we got for the job we need done.

Dudek was weak and not solid, but we needed him to do a job and when it mattered he delivered in and then some and everyone was giving him stick on the boards after United scored that weak goal.

Not even 3 months later he stopped Shevchenko from scoring a goal then stopped/did enough to help win us the shoot out.

Whether Brad ''Does a Dudek'' and has the game of his life, we'll just have to wait and see. He's the man for the job that needs doing.

Cos the modern fan only sees win win win and that we are curretly a work in progress. All happy to win a cup or two but wont accept that in the league we have struggled. It does not help teams like Mna city before the money was always a mid table team as was spurs and newcastle have this season excelled themselves.

Can anyone remember Pepe's last penalty save?

Sir Masher

Hey . It is not about generation gap or something , I am a 21 year old fan from India and no one can judge a person from his post sometimes their heart takes over their brain or sometimes their frustration takes over , all i can say is some people who are moaning can be 40-60 year people, its just that emotions are uncontrollable when you put so much into one thing . There are fans who are douchebags who just dont know what to say and where to say , these people would be better off at ManUtd's page ( Sorry personal hatred ). Its just not about the new generation. Fans who know their clubs will be calm and will be available to support their club no matter what the situation is , let it be 15 year old or 70 year old .

So all of a sudden Andy Carroll is great and Jordan Henderson is a future Liverpool captain - give me a break. We were hopeless against a very poor Blackburn team. Get real.

Quite agree. If it had stayed at 2-2 we would be slating our team.

But it didn't, we won 3-2 with goin nearly 70mins with 10 men which against any prem team is a good result!

Football is always 'ifs' if united hadn't scored so many last minute goals they'd be down with us.. the fact that we kept going and got that winning goal with 10 men is why we are praising our team, and so we should!

If we had won 6-0 what would you be saying??

Are you serious right now? Henderson played well at RB and the FACT that Carroll scored the winning goal means that he deserves the praise. What is wrong with you?

McAlien

We rested many of our ''big players'' for Saturday, we went a man down very early and had no tested keeper, we are going through a real touch of bad form but it's the same squad that beat Chelsea twice, Man City over two games, Arsenal and lifted the Carling Cup.

We are struggling, but that's because we've struggled for goals all season. People saw some of the character Henderson and Carroll have and the other lads Shelvey being one, and damn right it's about time, but it's there.

Blackburn are fighting for their footballing lives in that relegation battle, which was enough to beat Man United who look set to win the league.

''Support''

''So all of a sudden Andy Carroll is great and Jordan Henderson is a future Liverpool captain''

Well said ;)

MR EM

But we didn't, did we?  If you poor-excuse for supporters did some proper research, you'd realise that we actually play very entertaining football often creating a high number of clear-cut chances.  Our issue this season has been converting those chances and that will be dealt with in the summer.  No doubt when we have a great start to next season, you will all be saying how you stuck with the team through these difficult times?
Have you also forgotten that we are in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday and have a good chance of making a final at Wembley for the second time this season?  And for those  others scorning Brad Jones, can you please show some bloody respect to the guy.

Sir Masher

We played for over 60mins with 10 men who were predominantly regular subs/reserves, they matched blackburn at the end of the game stat wise in possession which ended 50/50, they also managed more attempts on goal and more attempts on target. terrible original post

I love Kenny.
I love everything he says.
If other fans or the media hate his comments then they should not ask him questions.
They know they aren't going to get the answer they want so why bother?!
This man is Liverpool thru and thru.
Kenny.....any true fan will always have faith in the team AND the manager.
You are a hero to many and a irritation to the rest.
Keep up the good work pal.
In King Kenny we trust.
Also Jordan Henderson, Sebastian Coates and Jonjo Shelvey the future of LFC? Yes they are.
Patience is a virtue.....and a game.

Tristan

No one moans at Fergie when he sends someone else to talk to the media for him so why hate Kenny when he tries to speak to something he hates...Kenny is King and he will right all our wrongs...He just needs time

The Bailiff

So you love Kenny and everything he says. He shows himself up big time and is an embarrassment to our famous football club.

I love Kenny too! But every time he speaks to the media I'm almost too embarrassed to watch! He seriously needs some coaching!

So blinkered ..lets move on as reds ..we should never have given kenny a longer contract ..he was short term surely

Apparently there'll be less of a homegrown influx of players this summer as Kenny has scrapped that policy -for now- and has accepted that we need class foreign players to take us on and significantly increase squad depth with Muniaín, Soldado, Gaston Ramirez, Maurico Isla and Adam Johnson the INS while Adam, Maxi, Kuyt, Glen Johnson and Doni will be the outs and Carroll could go too in a cut price deal to Newcastle.

Reina.
Kelly. Skrtel. Agger. Enrique.
Johnson. Gerrard. Lucas. Muniain.
Suarez. Soldado

Bench.
Jones, Isla, Coates. Henderson, Gaston Ramirez, Adam Johnson, Bellamy (who will now become an out and out striker)

Thats because he bought all the english players last time adam --enrique -- coates -- suarez england deff going to win the euros with them
red rabb

That team would win the league but it is a little unrealistic

Why play G. Johnson as a Right winger and then have Adam Johnson on the bench ?

If Isla joins he WILL NOT be on the bench.

Gaston Ramirez wont be on the bench either if he joins.

Steve

the media love having a go at liverpool at mo, so why should he talk nice to them.
first season at job and they are trying there best to sack him.
let the man get on with the job, give him a chance.

And Mourinho gets called a genius for using similar tactics with the press. There's a definite agenda out there.

KK to stay as manger
players out
Johnson Maxi Kuyt.
player in
Smithies, Isla, Martinez, Right Sided Winger, Luuk Dejong

Why get rid of Maxi?? He scores virtually every time he plays ! If he'd played regularly this season, we would probably have scored more goals and won more games! After another 2 goals last night, I bet he gets dropped again for Saturday!! Crazy!

Maxi has in fact scored 17 goals in 67 matches (25.3%) but has only actually scored in 11 matches (16.4%). What is often forgotten is that he scored 7 goals in 3 matches last season (an unsustainable rate of 2.33 goals per match). Let's be realistic - he is not the real answer to Liverpool's problems.
Dutchmal

Yes, you're right, I certainly wasn't suggesting he was the answer, as we clearly need a top class finisher. However, with the squad we have this season, he would have been a better option

11 Apr 2012 15:58:58
read an article on an irish newspaper last week by a former shelbourne manager he was saying that they were badly stuck for a goalkeeper bout 5 years ago and Brad Jones came over on a two month loan.He said he was the worst keeper he had ever seen and sent him back after two weeks. He went on to say he feared for liverpool if jones was playing and on the evidence of last nite i have to agree with him.

LFC fans had plenty to say about De Gea, but Jones was shocking last night, I really am concerned for the semi final clash!.

Yes because Brad Jones cost 20m and is number 1. Calm down and think about what you've said

Martin

Bloody hell it was a bad mistake but it was only ONE mistake. He was sound other than that. Get behind him.

But De Gea cost 18 million Jones was a lot less

The Bailiff

Give him a chance before you criticise him!!

I thought Jones save from Carroll was a class save!

11 Apr 2012 15:58:34
I think sending out your No2's to speak to the media and not speak to them at all as the manager is far more disrespectful than doing any kind of interview with them at all. Like some of the managers do.

11 Apr 2012 15:57:02
Love seeing how bad your lot are haha. Must be so embarrassing. We're going to have 30 titles before you have 19 . Getting far too easy for the Red Devils.

What about that team last night lads? Dear me. That was pathetic. Good job you were playing Blackburn!

Doni... Bombscare.

Flanagan... Utter Barry White & looks like an inbreed.

Skrtel... Not bad, but wouldn't get a game for any of the top 4.

Coates... Horrible! Between him & Savic of Man City for worst in the league.

Johnson... Terrible.

Bellamy... Past it.

Spearing... Wouldn't get a game with the blind asylum on a Friday night.

Henderson... £16m? Really?

Maxi... Free agent, can see why.

Carroll... £35m. Enough said.

Shelvey... Looks like a thumb. One of the worst players EVER.

Some laugh.

Steven.

{Ed001's Note - would that not be the same Blackburn that beat United at Old Trafford?}

This is one of the worst posts I have ever seen on this site!

Yeah Man Utd 2 - 3 Blackburn! Ring any bells?! Jon Flanagan looks inbred? This coming from someone who supports the club that produced the nevilles! The sons of neville neville - enough said!

Flanagan... Utter Barry White & looks like an inbreed.
Must be related to Gray Neville so
JayB

This post won't even be appreciated by non-Liverpool fans as it's clearly the work of a trolling moran. Skrtel is far better than the likes of Jonny Evans and Lescott and any football fan with half a brain would accept that as a fact.

The truth always hurts these mugs Steven;)

Anyway good stuff mate !

Blue247

Shocking attempt at a wind up mate. At least make it realistic. Martin Skrtel is the best centre half in the league and Shelvey one of England's greatest young attacking talents. And the rest doesn't even need to be mentioned. Must try harder.

Martin

We'll see who the mugs are on Saturday!!

Ell.

Hopfully after sat the like of blue247 will not be posting on this page.
you blue bitter tw*t
mrbrown

You have a team that can't even compete in the Europa league...

Ok then lets do this then!

MAN U LAST MATCH XI:

De Gea - Just no. Worst keeper ive seen.

Rafael - All he can do is run and he suppose to be a defender when he cant defend?

Ferdinand - Past it... about 2 years ago

Evans - Do i really need to say something?

Evra - Lier, scum, cheat and cant defend to save his life oh yes i remember he suppose to be a defender aswell!

Valencia - Looked good against B'Burn, not against anyone else.

Scholes - Bag of crap. Nuff said

Carrick - He is honestly the worst midfielders ive ever seen EVER!

Young - Hasn't done anything since going to the SCUM.

Rooney - Only good player you have

Welbeck - He just cant play football.

But you say how come were 1st? Crap players gel with other crap players, thats why Rooney wanted to leave.

^^^^
To be fair, United are a good team.

Their players on paper aren't anything special, compared to say Man City, but football is a team game and their team ethic has been good for so long which is why they win so much.

I think when Sir Alex leaves they could have a lot of trouble because he is the one who has given them their cohesion over the years.

Adam

Haha this done the trick!

Cheers people.

Steven.

Why do these Man Utd and Everton 'fans' think that when they try and put on a 'wind up' post on the Liverpool page, get a reply and get had off, that somehow they've got one up on the Liverpool fans?!

Oh and what muppet with the surname neville would give their son the first name neville - oh yeah gary and phils grandparents - makes sense. Neville Neville wtf?! But true!

Team for sat hopefully, jones, Johnson, skrtel, agger, Enrique, Bellamy (right) Gerrard, Henderson, spearing, downing, Suarez, bench gulasci, carra, Coates, shelvey, maxi, kuyt, carroll

Things haven't gone pretty well of late so i would like maxi to be given a chance good scoring recored an always there in the box when it matters!
Kp

If maxi has any sense he will tell Kenny where to go as he has been treated abysmally this season.

11 Apr 2012 15:48:59
MY STARTING XI FOR SAT:
-----------------------Jones----------------------
Johnson---------Skrtel--------Agger--------Enrique
Downing---------------Gerrard--------Bellamy/ Maxi
----------------------Shelvey---------------------
----------------Suarez---------Carroll-------------

;Gulacsi, Carra, Coates, Spearing, Hendo, Kuyt, Bellamy/ Maxi

We can all agree that our 3 best players on Wednesday was Bellamy, Maxi and Jonjo. I think KK was just trying to give Johnson and Agger game time to prepare them for Sat, so i would think KK would start them as they didnt play for very long. Though people may say dont play Downing and play Maxi and Bellamy on each wing, but i can see that he has improved immensely over the past few games. Plus Jonjo has impressed me greatly, his commitment and effort is outstanding and i feel our second goal was all because of him, especially when we had 11 men i thought he was bossing the game, so i feel he should start ahead of Hendo, though he had a great game at RB also. That is why i would put him in the same position as Wednesday. At first i was thinking Gerrard in Shelvey's place and Shelvey just playing off Suarez(CF), but with Carroll's goal i think it would give him a huge confidence boost and make him start putting more and more effort in, and to play alongside Suarez to try and gel (even though i feel we still need to buy another striker SOLDADO!)

Hit the nail on the head with this team I think. Although I could put the point forward that Bellamy is a lot better off the bench than starting, so maybe i would play Gerrard on the right (where he had his best ever season for us, and can provide good balls for Andy Carroll, got to use him on Saturday, Everton are far from the best in the league at defending crosses against tall strikers) and maybe throw in Jay Spearing to CM. I know people think he just doesnt quite have it to cut it at the top level, but he is a local lad an a Liverpudlian, it always seems to be the way that Blue or Red (or other derbys for that matter) local lads play their best in these games. And its a shame with CB, Agger and Skrtel by far the best, but Coates has played very well recently, adapting better and better each week and had a smashing performance last night, shame he cant play on Saturday however there are 2 better CBs than him at this moment in time

Personally I would like to see......

Jones
Skrtel Coates Agger
Spearing
Gerrard Henderson Downing
Shelvey Suarez
Carroll

Can be 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 or 3-1-3-2-1

You then have Enrique, Bellamy, Johnson, Kuyt as subs

Heard lots about Kennys interview last night and have just seen it on Sky and it is embarrassing. Why does he do it? If I did not know who KD was and saw this interview for the first time I would think was a horrible person.

Well said.

He's a dinosaur of the premiership simply. No matter what people say winning the league with Blackburn 17 years ago, and his previous success means very little now with how the game has changed and how big the premiership has become. Cant handle the pressure maybe and out of his depth

A horrible person?! What are you 12? who gives one how he comes across. The man is a legend

howcouldheplay

Go watch the BBC then instead of Sky and Kenny comes across much better in the interview. Sky are scumbags, part of the same group who owns the S*n and who keep sexist reporters (burton, hi) on their roster.

Now im not 100% certain i sw the right interviw but what did he say that was really offensive or out of order ?

Who cares!.

Just watch your so called manager on Sky news what a dick.
1) Trys to end an interview by pushing past the reporter.
2) Demeans the interviews with his continuous smirks
3) If he doesn't want to do the interviews or think he is to good to do them why not get Clark or another backroom staff member to do them.
4) Fenway sports being an American company must realise the hard he is doing to the name of L/pool by his actions in the USA it is compulsory to do them and promote the club and talk about the game, Kenny doesn't want to so they should give him some media lessons.
As a manager at Liverpool the first time round he was left a good team by Paisley and decided to leave when they where past it, at Blackburn the owner gave him all the money he needed to win the title then left once he couldn't get any more from him, at NUFC he was found out didn't have the oney to spend as Keegan had and wasn't a winner, and at Celtic it was even worse just ask the fans, Now back at the pool we are seeing his true skills as a manager buy high overrated players and win a micky mouse cup.

Well said, I totally agree with everything you say. Dalglish shows himself and Liverpool Football Club big time. EMBARRASSING!!

But remember the so called manager has still won us a cup and possibly 2. Is managerial ability now judged on how you respond to questions. As someone has already said at least he hasnt cried off and point blank refused to interview like taggart did to the bbc.
Also ho took over Joe fagan so if your going to have a go at least get your facts straight.
Go and worry about what your own side is doing, whoever that is and stop joining the anti kenny campaign with the rest of britain.
Baaaaa

FowlerisGod

Dalglish took over from Joe Fagan, not Bob Paisley and actually had to change the team round quite a lot esspecially in '87 when Ian Rush was sold, who wanted a new challenge, for £3.2m and with that £3.2m bought Barnes, Aldridge and Beardsley with change left over and soon got Houghton aswell and in that '87-'88 season Liverpool played arguebly some of the best football ever seen in this country and won the league at a canter. When he left Liverpool Dalglish had been under a lot of emotional strain for 18 months or more after Hillsborough. What he did at Blackburn was an achievement coming up a division and winning the Premiership, ok some money was spent but really Shearer and Sutton were the only bigger money deals at the time, and spending money doesn't guarentee instantly winning the league, just look at Man City. Just look at Newcastle at that time, they could have picked any manager, they almost did go through every manager, and it would have been hard for anyone to win there at that time, they haven't won anything for 50 years so he's not the only one. When at Celtic there was a lot going on behind the scenes and sometimes things don't work out, even still he did win a trophy there. When you say your manager, who do you support? Man Utd? Where Ferguson is often very dissrepectful to the media and also didn't speak to the BBC for 6 years and has before even shouted at a female reporter in the tunnel after a question after a european match and constantly argues in press conferences. Arsenal? You only have to watch Wenger once to see his contempt and dislike of the media, esspecially in press conferences. Everton? Moyes often doesn't even speak to the media just ignores them and sends someone i.e steve round, out to do his dirty work for him. He is also known to get into petty arguements with reporters at press conferences. Man City? Just watch Manchini once talking to the media, that is all.
Dalglish last night actually moved forward to shake someones hand and then moved back to carry on the interview and in my opinion actually didn't do anything wrong last night, he said he didn't want to talk about the red card because he hadn't seen it yet, so what?
Kev79

Sorry how many cups has your team won this season?

...........and there Kev79 is post of the day.
Nice one lad

Ill bet that is a united fan who wrote that, now lets not even get started with alex ferguson

He went to shake someone's hand was all, and came back to the interview.
Watching it, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.
As some have said, at least he shows up for interviews, unlike Fergie did.
Who is more out of order there?

I care about this post about as much as I care about what Kenny says to Sky. None. You have too much time on your hands. Sad really.

Jon Flanagan = Stephen Wright

You have no life.

Flanno is only 19 years old . Though he has made 3 mistakes this season and each one has cost the team a goal , it won't deter his LFC career - a really useful local player who loves the club .

Jerzy Dudek

The 39-year-old officially retired last summer following a four-year spell as Real Madrid's back-up goalkeeper. Out of contract, the former Poland international is eligible to be signed outside of the transfer window and will forever be cherished at Anfield for his role in Liverpool's 2005 Champions League triumph.

Dont see why he has not been invited back to anfield regardless of our position with goal keepers. Not the best of keapers but clearly a great shot stopper and could help the more immature players such as brad jones.

But in my opinion i would most definately get dudek and play him against the bitter blue s**te.

Brad Jones is 30- not exactly immature!

DP

C'mon Brad Jones 'immature'? The guy is 30 and with the sh#t he has had to deal with I don't think that's fair or accurate!

Brad jones is immature?

Dudek was good in the champions league final but in general he made lots of mistakes and wasnt a solid keeper

Brad Jones is garbage that's why he is 3rd choice, and before ant of you start this is about football not his personal life.

''Liverpool vs the world''

Honest ...I'm ROTFLMFAO @ the way you think world perceives LFC...

Here's a better perception ...

The footballing world looks at Liverpool FC...something like this...

Imagine a prize fighter... won some titles had some really good fights...

However now he's a bit punchy... and slow on the uptake i.e. gets grumpy when others take the p1$$ out of him...

Can't believe how past it he's become...

The defence looks so much more comfortable without carra (still a ledge) we can play higher up its allot easier on the eye and allot more effective.

Square tomato

Worryingly midfield looks better without Gerrard too! Not saying he's past it, just his 'living legend' status is maybe making it hard for others who know that they will always be in his shadow. The difference between being (potentially) very good players and great ones I guess. JimK

Easier on the ears too!

HK

If we are going to play Carroll every game then wide right is the place for Gerrard. Best crosser of the ball at the club. He may not like it there but it should be whats best for the team, not him. Brian

Ye your right about gerrard guys he should play there at least until the end of the season then we can buy a right winger in the summer.there isn't much to play for in the league now but I just want to finish above everton!

It was great to see the fight, determination, and perhaps most pleasing, the teamwork shown by our players last night, something that has been lacking for what seems like far too long now...

As far as our recent form has been, maybe correctly, described as 'relegation form', the performance last night was an excellent away performance. Yes, we let a 2-0 lead slip to a team in the bottom 3, but considering the things that had gone wrong for us in the game we still dug deep and won. If United had put that performance in last night, the media would be spouting on about how it was a championship winning performace, when everything is against you, digging deep and getting the win.

A special mention to Jordan who ran himself into the ground for the good of the team and Jonjo, who I thought showed real signs of promise and maturity.

A final congratualtions to Brad Jones who's wife gave birth to son Nico on Wednesday, You'll Never Walk Alone.

RO YNWA

I think henderson, shelvey and coates had really good games and to me Man of the match was Henderson

Good to see the total unity amongst our big players on the bench last night. No cliques. All seem to be happy and getting on well. Very supportive of Dalglish. You could see when Agger came on as sub, there was total respect from him towards Dalglish. The present situation at Liverpool is not a Hodgson situation.

I noticed tht aswell and didnt look to me tht reina wants to leave either

Agger should be made captain. Outstanding attitude.

Does anyone think Kenny Dalglish is damaging the reputation/image of the club?

in the last few months every one of his interviews have been angry, cheeky, and coming across a bit bitter, were as previous he was light hearted with the media, making jokes etc.

its leading to alot of neutral fans and fans of other clubs absolutely despising him and the club.

Liverpool used to be alot of peoples "2nd Team" but i worry our image is being tarnished this season, what with the handling of the Suarez affair and the above issues.

i'd be interested to hear the opinion of the Eds and other folk on here.

thanks.

I reckon the media perception is irrelevant , if Kenny Dalglish wants to be arrogant I'm all for it .

Qwerty

Unfortunately, I think the media perception will matter. It contributes to the overall image of the club.

Sponsors, for starters, will not want to be associated with a club that does not get good press, or consistently bad press.

Nor will youngsters looking for a team to support.

A manager that talks to the press with little admiration for their work is hardly going to bring down the club . KD is a manager with the clubs very best interests at heart , it is a Liverpool thing .

Hi all

I dont know if i've seen the same Kenny interview on Sky as the rest of you, but I see no problems what - so - ever.

Firstly people criticise him not answering the question on Doni. It's very wise of him not to say the ref got it wrong. How many managers have you seen been given bans because of criticising ref's? Loads. If he had come out shouting and screaming about the ref, he wouldnt be on the touchline for the semi. Instead he was calm and compossed, leaving no possible way he could be banned or criticed.

Secondly, I think a few of you have mentioned how he started to walk away from the interview as totally disgracful. Put yourself in his shoes. He has stood there for 2 minutes, answering the same question, while he wants to get to the team to congratulate and talk with them. And when another pointless question is fired his way - which will be answered in Thursday's press confrence, as he mentioned, he tried to make his escape. What is the point of him repeatedly answering questions when he wants to speak to the team.

How can you criticse him for anything he did?
It makes me wonder is some people have respect for him and the club..... Criticising him - the horrible abuse he gets on websites like this, when undoubtedly, he loves the club more than some of the harshest critics on this website.

Finally, I dont like reviewing performances, because of some of the vegtables on here who want to sell everyone. However, the abuse wee flanno got is a disgrace. It's his first mistake in an LFC shirt. He is 19, played around 20 games, and that was his first mistake, and some idiots want to sell him. You only need to look at Johnson, and realise how good Flanno is. Johnson, England #1, or so they say, repeatedly attacked down the left wing, when we had 10 men, before loosing it and being hopelessly out of possition....

Also, atleast Flanno showed the Blackburn players he was there - thats where football has gone wrong, you tickle a player and get sent off. Look at the Yak, built like an ox, and Jones flicked him, barly touched him, yet he went down like he'd been shot...

Anyway - i look forward to your comments,

Burnsy

I'm actually with you to a point on this one but I'm afraid Kenny isn't going to get one over on the media they'll just use any and every excuse to have a go at him now that he's wound them up this season.
I listened to Roy Evans on Talksport this morning and I wish Kenny would get him in as his assistant not only because of his abilities to help the team but he could also deal with the media as its obvious Kenny doesn't like that part of the job

Chris in Tamworth

Thanks, Ell.

Anyone remember Ferguson secretly banning someone because they asked a question about ''Giggsy'' in a Man Utd press conference?

That was exposed to the media, nothing much happened and no one really held Ferguson to account for that.

I wonder if those same people complaining about Dalglish's conduct, which was civil, complain about that North Korean style dictatorship displayed towards that guy's career for asking ''the wrong question'' by Ferguson?

Or about a football boot Beckham took to the face, from an angry Ferguson. Very unprofessional, but it's accepted as common knowledge and joked about, no accountability, yet again.

Or when Ferguson was outright rude and obnoxious to Kenny Dalglish's daughter, Kelly who was working for Sky sports? No, nothing!?

Now i hear and read people asking for Kenny to be sacked for ''disrespecting a Sky sports journalist.''

It's ridiculous and yet another storm in a tea cup, Sky have no interest in the truth or representing unbiased news.

I saw a 60+ year old man unable to leave an interview area, even though he made a clear attempt to walk away and finish the interview. That's ambush journalist tactics. Sky obviously take no accountability, why would they? They're Sky and their media agenda is unquestionable.

Diana

Look kenny is just deflecting any criticism from his players, it's psychology just like Fowlerisgod says above. It's obvious that most sky reporters are basically working for the sun newspaper and the questions they ask are cliqued and inane ! Kenny is the King because he fights for not just his players but the fans and club by taking all the negative s**t thrown at him, it's been a year since he took over. I remember people saying under houlier, Rafa and Wroy we played crap football and they would rather see us lose every game but play good stuff. Well ok we have had some bad games but mostly we have dominated possession played good football. We have broken up far too many teams in the last 10 years and we need to be patient its not going to be a quick fix, last night showed spirit and fight.
people need not pay attention to the media crap sprouted around to fill gaps on 24 hour coverage in order to gain advertising revenue, make your own decision by watching the games and coming up with your own opinion and thoughts rather than regurgitated low brow journalism!!
Long live kk
ynwa

You have it so right , it seems that there is one rule for fergie , and another for the Reds , we should all know by now , that the media have it in for us , and will use every trick in the book to keep us down , but one day , we will have a team that they cannot stop .
redforever

Liverpool decided to have a close door policy, after shoeing out ITK and now the people in London don't like it. No more feeding on leaks for half apsed journalists in London, on Fleet Street.

They are on the outside looking in, just like everyone else is and they absolutely detest it. Their only response is lead an agenda to change this policy, via a media squeeze on the manager through bad press coverage.

Roy Hodgson was pushed out by the fans who go to the games, not those who watch games on the T.V. It's not the same for Kenny Dalglish with those fans, most i hear and speak to want him to be given time.

I love it, even the Echo is on the out, how it should be. It once was okay pre-internet but now if you know something in Japan, you can share it with the U.K in seconds.

thanks for agreeing with an earlier comment guys.

Would like to point out that Kenny may hold a grudge against sky for a valdi reason but at the same time he has to be a bit smarter.

He cannot avoid the interviews as even Alex Ferguson had to give into BBC demands recently (and sky has much more power) and clubs could loose a lot of revenue which is crucial in todays game.

Kenny may have his initial grudge against another of Murdochs media company's but the reporter for sky (however distasteful asking that question to Brad Jones) was not involved in that and the anger/frustration from the Sun issue should not be taken out on sky employees.

I think the owners will not appreciate this attitude given how much American's understand the importance of media/marketing to a sports brand.

I do feel for Kenny though as such an emotional issue can be hard to deal with. Hope justice is done for the hillsborough victims.

ps. please beat everton to guarantee us Europe League.

11 Apr 2012 12:47:57
tbh i dont see whats wrong at about what kenny did! practically nothing happened, just a routine interview! he hardly stormed off! akpu

I agree, Kenny was civil and polite. He was answering the questions asked, sometimes re-asked because the interviewer wasn't happy with the answers, Kenny tried to walk away and wasn't able to, this wasn't the way to treat a 60+ year old man on live T.V.

It's a huge storm in a tea cup, as was the support of Luis Suarez, by the lads wearing his t-shirt. Obviously Liverpool were not ''supporting racism'' and only supporting their team mate through a difficult time.

But anyone who saw how that was spun, should be asking questions about Sky's coverage, moral aspects to journalism and their current media agenda.

Kenny's interview with the BBC after the Blackburn game was jolly and uplifting.

It was the Sky reporter Andy Burton who played a big part in the sacking of Andy Gray. He doesn't interview. He sneeres. Always trying to catch out Dalglish.

Too true... he was the guy who wound up Carra after the Carling cup final..

Another example of giving new young players a few seasons to bed down, just like Lucas. In two or three years from now Liverpool will be magnificent what with all our 21/22/23 year olds hitting their peak years. Andy Carroll has the potential to become as good as Drogba. Add to that the likes of Suso and Sterling coming through plus new signings........this could be the start of another glorious decade. Leave Kenny be - a new manager might wreck everything.

I for one am really pleased for firstly Big Andy, for scoring such an important goal, so late in a game that looked in all liklihood of providing more dropped points, it must have felt like he'd scored in the cup final.

I really hope he can bag a few more in the remaining games, as I believe he will still be red next season.

And secondly for Brad Jones, getting his opportunity in goal. He's gone thru some really bad times, the kind I hope never to experience. Of course he lacks match experience but he's our man between the sticks and I hope he has a great game on Saturday.

I know we don't always see eye to eye boys, but just wanted to congradulate Jones on getting a game and saving the penalty against Blackburn. The bloke has had a torrid time over the past 2 years, and I sincerely hope he plays a blinda in the semi's and can get himself a run at the final. The least he deserves. As an Aussie, he is one player I followed at Middlesborough and then to come to LFC and be 3rd choice was disappointing for him I'm sure, but now he has a chance to shine and I have all confidence that he will. Goodluck Brad Jones!

As of late (past 2 years) I can't recall him being in the Aussie squad Blair. Terminator holds dont the no1 spot and has done for almost a decade now. Adam Federichi has been the no.2 of late, playing in friendlies and WC qualifiers when Schwarzer isn't available. I know Brad was thought of in extremely high regard when at Middlesborough by the national selectors but I guess since lacking game time that has changed.

I just hope he can put in a real big performance and hold the spot for a while. Deserves it. Will be the first time I ever cheer for Liverpool to keep a clean sheet.

I hope so too, you can see how much it meant to him. and no reason why he oughtn't have a good game on saturday, good keeper and i remember him making some decent stops when i saw him play the second half of carra's testimonial. - better to have some derby experience than none!

I still can't see anyone other than reina being in goal for the FA cup final though somehow.

Question for anyone who can answer it - Why is it that Suso is the only reserve with a first team number who DOESN'T train with the first team? Wisdom, Sterling and Coady all do, but he doesn't - quite disappointing tbh. I think he's just as good as them all.

Ed I think suso is the most ready but do the club not really rate him that highly

Thanks

Is it because he's Spanish and not English? I think he's the most ready too. Also heard that Fiorentina are interested in an 18 month loan deal with option to buy. *Sigh* he's going to be just like Pacheco at this rate.

He isn't ready though. If you've followed the reserves in the past few months, his performances have been patchy at best. If any attacking midfielder is showing some class right now, aside from Sterling, its Adorjan.

No, Suso is better than Adorjan, especially recently. Adorjan is older and doesn't have a first team number. I just don't see why he's the only reserve(with a first team number) who doesn't train with the first team.

I agree that Suso is better than Adorjan on talent, but a lot of what comes into play also comes from how a player trains and handles himself professionally on a consistent basis. I'm not claiming that I know what goes on at Melwood, but I'm sure the management has their reasons for not pushing a young player too quickly.

If you look at why Henderson is consistently preferred over the likes of Jonjo, I think a lot of that comes from his maturity and his quality in training. I know he did cost us a large chunk of cash, but he made it through at Sunderland at an early age because it was obvious that he has what it takes to become a good professional even from an early age. I think a lot of that is being shown now in Coady. He's not quite there technically, but you can see that there is something different about the way he carries himself that breeds confidence with the coaches. I think that Suso has what it takes and will eventually come good, either at Liverpool or at another club, but its too early to throw a player into intense first team training if he's not ready mentally. Sorry for the rant.

Liverpool will be prevented from signing a goalkeeper on emergency loan before Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Everton. Manager Kenny Dalglish hinted he might explore an emergency deal with Pepe Reina and reserve goalkeeper Doni suspended, but it has emerged the Premier League will reject the request with their regulations only allowing a move because of injury, rather than suspension. Brad Jones, the third-choice goalkeeper, now looks certain to make his first domestic start for Liverpool at Wembley with either Danny Ward, 18, or Tyrell Belford, 17, likely to be named as substitute - neither have any first team experience."

People saying kenny was right to be a t**t in the interview because of the interviewer. There is millions of fans like me who only see dalglish talk at this time. The only people who know about the interviewer are the people who use forums a lot which is a minor number of all Liverpool fans. So to the majority he looks like a pr**k.

What!! is this poster just crazy it is not just about the reporter its alot to do with sky.the murdocks who ran the news of the world which is the sister paper of the paper tht blamed us for hillsbough.

Is right. Ayre has hinted and that's the way it will go. It's a big wide world out there and sky-sports will not always have it their own way. Keep it going Kenny lad. P.s The team won last night yet the image on the Liverpool article was that of Carrol missing a sitter. Typical scumbags.

Possible ownership of media rights is exactly why Henry bought the club.

LA Dodgers just sold for 2 billion dollars even though attendance has plummeted. Why? For the global media rights.

It will be a game changer if it happens. Sky will shrivel in size.

Im going to have my say on the Daglish situation. He was a disgrace giving his interview, an embarrassment to the club and himself and someone should have a word. People are beginning to hate our club due to his disgraceful behaviour. Grow up Kenny and try to promote our club not disgrace it!

Wow a slight over reaction from you ??

Why dont you follow your own advice and stop disgracing it ? Kenny was dealing with Sly Tv reporter dont forget, the same owners of the S** !!!!..there is no love lost with those guys

"A Footstep from Comolli" (or just another empty space!)

Two programmes on TV last night: the last days of Hermann Goering and the final hours of the Titanic. Goering was defiant until he last and Titanic slipped out of the world and into the deep after a protracted slide under. I'm not one for thinking things are tasteless - after all, life is brutal and despite our social fabric, we all retain the ability to be savage as William Golding showed us.

I wanted to use Goering as a metaphor for KK and the Titanic for the club. The ship may be more apposite and despite the unsavoury reputation of the former, maybe someone like Gordon Brown would be more suitable for KK.

I was unhappy with his body language and the way he conducted himself in the SKY interview. When he tried to walk away, who did you think was pushing him back or glaring at him and caused him to return to the spot? I rather believe it was one of the club's phantom PR people finally getting their own act into gear. No matter what we think of KK as a player, manager, icon, you cannot go into an interview and behave with such petulance. No matter what we feel about the media and how much we think "we are LFC so why bother with the media?" we are enslaved as a business to them. Our sponsors don't give us money simply because they're nice people; they give us money to have their names and logos exposed to millions. That comes through the media in all its forms!

I said before under another title that KK works for the club/FSG and as an employee he has to behave in a responsible manner. To many fans he doesn't have to as he's the King: tell the owners and sponsors that as he trashes the club's image further when he behaves like he has recently in interviews. Aaah - this is the real contentious issue. We can't say anything about him or against him. Well he lives on planet Earth along with the rest of us and is human. KK must realise this is not playing to a receptive audience.

We are holed below the water line - hence our league position and like Gordon Brown, stumbling between interviews as the media closed in, KK needs to adopt a more affable manner. After the Suarez affair he seemed to adopt something like that but he has slipped as the presuure has grown. That's understandable, but look at people like Martinez and McLeish who seem to adopt a more measured and reasonable tone when confronted by the media.

Don't dismiss these suggestions because in your eyes KK can do no wrong and the media are just evil and lying scum. Neither is completely true and you need to take a more measured view, unlike the two characters previously mentioned. People usually become verbally aggressive and resentful when they feel trapped or cornered; in my view this is what KK is doing and it is not pleasant.

I can't make my mind up on KK. Last month I was asking (asking is different from suggesting by the way) if KK was the man to take us forward. Then my personal "Road to Domestos" was walked and I said he should be the man next season in the chair. Then he comes out last night and arrogantly struts a verbal and physical route to public distaste. You can't keep defending him in these cases simply because he is Kenny Dalglish.

Too many fans see owners and the media as peripheral parts of the football club. We can do without the 'prawn sandwich' brigade they say and the owners should "just shut up and let the managers and players get on with it." Unbelievable! They own the club; they pump in the cash and demand certain results and standards. This is what even icons like Dalglish have to conform to. He is not doing that at present. We can all bow down before him and adore him, tell him he's our hero, but he has to work like a proper employee and not embarrass the club in his interviews. He can do that, he is doing it and he's not immune to criticism.

Before I finish, do NOT just fire off a response along the lines of the usual "get behind the boys" or "be a real supporter" or any crap like that. It's about time KK got the message and improved his performance as an employee of LFC who is reputed to earn £3.75m+ a year and it's about time the players "got behind the fans" and acted like "real players"!

Steve Parker

Sorry SP I read a lot of your posts and usually you are quite thought provoking. I think you are clutching at straws with this one. KD seemed to be distracted towards the end of the interview but came back to finish off. Some one off screen seemed to take his attention - blame Sky for this, for not securing the area. He answered most questions but would not be drawn on the sending off. He referred all talk of the semi to Thursday's press conference. I didn't think he was too controversial but I agree he is certainly not affable toward these interviewers. How can you be, to someone you are forced to speak with publicly who is trying to make you say something which can be twisted for the next days headlines? I think you are being naive. Comparisons to Goering, Gordon Brown and the Titanic are a little over the top.
I would prefer to say that only one team was trying to play football even though down to ten men. Blackburn only looked dangerous when they slung the ball into the air in desperation to "man of the match" Yakubu!
Steve I have never been embarrassed by KD but I don' t worship him as a God (which you don't believe in). Perhaps you can compare the season to the Passion, there have been a few miracles and we have been crucified at times but now we can rise again.

Kev

At last, someone with a brain. Too many Liverpool fans believe you can stick two fingers up at the media and anyone outside Liverpool and get away with it.

There seems to be a hatred of the wealthy. The corporations "out to get Liverpool" with their "anti-Liverpool agenda." Some fans need to be dragged in to the 21st Century and understand that the media are a large part of the game these days.

Kenny will be gone at the end of the season. The team is not performing as it should and he is a walking PR disaster. I would love to know who was behind Andy Burton telling him to get back to the interview. The fact that he now appears to have to be baby-sat through interviews is not a good sign.

Ash

Get behind the lads!

Dalglish is an employee of LFC/FSG.
Not naive and for £10,000 per day Dalglish should be a little better prepared or able to handle the media. This isn't his first managerial job.
As for the metaphors, it's a bit like modern film trailers: show you 99% of the interesting stuff and grab your attention!
SP

Steve, I personally would also like to see KK be a little less defensive with the media in general.

He often acts as if they are all constantly trying to catch him out- which in one way they are, but he doesn't need to be so defensive most of the time.

Hopefully someone can make him see that in today's world, it actually matters what the media think, and that its not helpful to the club for him to be the way he sometimes is.
I don't think he needs media training, he just needs to be asked to chill a bit. But remember that part of the reason he is this way is because of his deep passion for the football club, and I would never want to moderate or change that.

His performance in managing a squad of players is another issue altogether from his media attitude. Personally I think he's done as well as any manager we couldve got, and better than most.
Before people start calling for his head, remember how highly-praised AVB was, and how that ended up?
He is a good fit for LFC in ways that some others are not, and that has to count for a lot too.
I'd give him the first half of next season at least, and probably all of it, unless we have a ten game losing streak, which isnt going to happen.

Casting your mind back to the aftermath of Hillsborough should help you to understand why Kenny Dalglish is less than comfortable with certain elements of the media. There are very good reasons for those of us who either support the club, or are involved with club, to distrust the media, particularly any part of the media that Rupert Murdoch is involved. Given what Kenny Dalglish has been through with Liverpool Football Club, and given what he has helped us all through in the past, I find your criticism distasteful. I appreciate your comments regarding the clubs owners and sponsors, but there are far more principles in life than those associated with corporate, business, and financial interests. Further, I have witnessed Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger giving far less balanced and far less reasonable interviews without you raising questions over their suitability as managers of their clubs. Finally, why do you feel the need to ask other posters not to contradict you? Is that not displaying a similar attitude to that for which you are happy to castigate Kenny Dalglish?

Red Owl

SP is right, KK is an employee of LFC and should look to put LFC in the best light as possible.

No one is bigger than the club as he often says, but I don't think he is getting much direction from above, so in effect he is running things. Bar the statements after the Suarez - Evra handshake situation, I doubt there has been much in the way leadership from FSG or Ian Ayre with regards to the behaviour of KK.

KK is a legend of LFC, but this is a very different LFC from the one he left behind all those years ago, and football is a very different beast from his last major job at NUFC.

I think KK will be left to his own devices for a while yet, but after the supposed performance review, we may see a slightly different KK.

RedSG

Red Owl: not asking for posters not to contradict me, simply saying I'm not interested in reading the usual s**t about getting behind the club as though people are disloyal for questioning KK.
Distasteful is as distateful does to coin an oldphrase.
Football is a rare thing - an indstry that doesn't believe there is more to life than the thins you mention - after all, the Pl is a hyped and greedy body and the whole basis of the game balances on enormous wealth and corporate interests. It is naive to think it exists without those things.
As fo Ferguson and Wenger - trtue I haven't mentioned them, nor David Cameron, Jupp Heynckes, Boris Johnson nor Michael Schumacher.

"The Madness Of SP"

I enjoy your posts SP mate I really do. But your original post comparing Kenny to Herman Goering, is an absolute f*cking disgrace. Goering was a mass murderer and his name should never be mentioned on this page again.

You keep mentioning in your posts on how you are not 'disrespecting' Kenny, then what kind of bullsh*t is this? This is the most disrespecting thing I've read about Kenny on here.

And the other posters who replied and gave you a glowing report, should maybe have another read of your post and realise. That not only was your post disrespecting but also vile and disgusting. And probably shouldn't have been put on this page.

Comparing Kenny to Herman Goering iis not just an insult to Kenny but to all us LFC fans. Hang your head in shame.

Liverpool always seem to play better when we are up against it. When we are underdogs so to speak.
Don't shoot me for saying we were underdogs against Blackburn but a man down and our third choice keeper on who was making his debut, then it was looking unlikely.
We need the team to show that fighting spirit against all teams week in week out.
Henderson must be the biggest culprit, he played out of his skin last night, showed what he is worth. I want to see that every week now.

Why are so many people getting worked up about KK behaviour on SKY?
I dont give a monkeys how Dalglish comes across. I am a proud Scotsman like Dalglish and the media can slag him off all they want. As long as the team does well on the park then who cares. So many people put so much creedence to what the media think.......stuff them!

I agree with u mate. the media are all anti liverpool supporters. i have watched kenny's interviews and i don't see any problems with what he says. also i think the person who interviewed kenny was the same loser who interviewed carragher after the carling cup win and said some stupid questions. kenny is the king and the media need to back off.

But they don't do it on the park, do they ? His arrogance at times us is unjustified

Please give me a good explanation on why all media is anti-lfc? It is total nonsense! Look at the amount of ex liverpool players working for tv now. Hansen, Thompson, Lawrence, Whelen, Redknapp to name a few.. Come on and please get a grip! Kenny Dalglish was a disgrace last night and why didn't he want to answer the red card situation? If Fergie, Wenger or any other manager did this then you would be first to be on their case!

REMOVE THE TINTED GLASSES

Unfortunately the media have a whole lot more power and influence than you people seem to give them credit for. The whole media is anti liverpool is just a myth made up by the blinded one eyed fans who refuse to hear the truth about the club and its players. The petulant and arrogant interviews given by kenny and some of the players just perpetuate this ridiculous assumption that the media is anti liverpool. The fact is without the media, be it Tv , newspapers, radio or internet, pumping billions into the game every year forums like this one wouldnt exist. The fact is the club needs the media more than the media needs the club. The owners should ensure that all employess of LFC embrace and front the media in a positive manner at all times.

Steve

I agree with the poster, also it was the same guy tht interviewed carra and the same guy in the sexist thing with keys and gray, yet the only 1 to keep his job.also how disrespectful can you get asking a man why he pointed to the sky wen he saved the pen,he new like everybody else why he done it.

I dont think Dalglish comes across as arrogant. He is not the most media friendly guy out there but he never was. Sorry but I dont think Wenger, Fergie etc are that media friendly either. I have seen both acting like d***heads before on TV. I mean Fergie wouldn't speak to the BBC for 6 years!
Dont understand this backlash from our own supporters! Get behind the team, the manager, the staff.......YNWA.

So should Dalglish go and open his heart and do a big interview with the Sun then Steve, don't think so.

Great game last night no mater what other teams fans are saying (mainly bitters proving the name is justified) Liverpool were the better team by far, all the players put a shift in Hendo and Carroll especially.

But after the game Sky showed their class again or lack of it, Andy Burton should not have asked any questions to Brad Jones regarding his son it was out of order, personally i don't think anyone from Liverpool should do another interview with him at. Maybe Kenny shouldn't have any with Sky perhaps Steve Clarke should speak from now on or no one at all, as Kenny doesn't seem to want to be their (which for me is fair enough).

And to 'ToonFan' good on you mate for posting what you did, shows some class which a lot of opposing fans don't show regarding such a sensitive issue.

Would like your thoughts on the Doni sending off. Whilst it was a penalty, if a goalie is the last man back and can't attempt to save without the risk of being sent off....what is the point. He may as well just stand aside and let the ball roll into the net. Surely this dissuades goalies from making any attempt. Anyone think the rule should be tweaked for goalies ? I just think that the risk of a sending off is too much for a harmless tackle to try and prevent a goal, but yes, give the penalty.

Very good point.

Agree with you there mate , the rules dont help the goalie too much , also , for the 2nd pen , surely the goalie has a right to go for that loose ball too .

AC clearly has enough attributes - some of which we've seen this season, however fleetingly - to make him a top premier league centre forward. Depending on who you listen to, the main problem seems to stem more from his missing his home town, friends and family, which is affecting his job of work. I really hope that whatever the issues are, they're sorted out 'cos an in-form and fired-up AC would be a great asset for any team

The Squirrel

Maybe if we all backed Andy C and made him feel at home (something LFC fans are/were renowned for) he would get over these issues and become the goal monster we all know he's capable of.

He must have it in the back of his mind that he's being slated week in week out by a portion of his own fans that is clearly affecting him settling in perhaps?

Can I just say, Kenny is doing himself no favours with his aggressive, arrogant and obnoxious manner in which he interviews. I have to turn the tele off due to his failure to answer legitement questions. It's asif he is hiding from reality and doesn't seem to grasp the concept of someone interviewing him. He is our front of house at liverpool, he represents our club and he has done magnificently over the years, but there comes a stage where people need to step back. He could get away with this kind of behaviour when he was sitting on top of the league with Blackburn, but unfortunately this is not the case with Liverpool at the moment. When your team looses or when players get sent off we as supporters have a right to learn the clubs stance and views. Supporters pay alot of money for tickets, transport, food, souvenirs etc and if the team do not perform, we deserve to know why not some smart arse reply trying to make the interviewer look daft. I'll probably get slated for this, and my posts are usually far from negative but it's a issue that's been bugging me for some time now.

Totally agree...he dosnt help himself, or the image of the club by this style of interviewing and it gets exacerbated by recent poor results, as everything is viewed from a more negative standpoint....thought he would be more savvy on this front, but hey, nobodies perfect...but i suspect a few more wins and noone will give a jot about his post match interviews !

Red Til Dead

Red tinted glasses - SKY keeps the PL aive with money and have the right to ask questions about players. Dalglish -rude and arrogant.

He asked about a sending off? How hard is it to just say 'it's a sending off'. When they ask how he thought the team played? Instead of rolling his Tongue a smirking he could just answer the question. These are not in reasonable things to ask. If he has a problem doing these interviews if rather he not did them. At the end of the day he's only got the fans talking about him rather than the performance. I say it's drawing un nessesary attention to himself

Sam Adzii jft96

I personally respect how Kenny conducts his interviews. He's been associated with the club long enough to know the media are Anti-Liverpool, blood sucking leaches and will try and twist everything.

His contempt for the media is plain for all to see and i, for one, am glad we have someone in charge who does not care less about opinion and says what he thinks. Better having that than some plastic manager.

Good result last night. Plenty of effort from everyone who has come in for alot of criticism this season, thought Carroll and Henderson were particularly good. Really not sure how Maxi does it, he scored two cracking (team) goals, but in truth he wasn't in the game at all? He just has some sort of knack becuase it happens to often for it to be luck.
All the papers reporting this morning that Brad was very lucky not to get sent off. If penalties are going to be given for that much contact a spot kick would awarded at every corner kick, everytime a player shields the ball out of play, and pretty anytime two players come together.

Really hope Henderson is played centrally saturday alongside Shelvey, and that Carroll also starts.

Keep that effort up lads

Tommy Walsh

I thought the card was coming out for the yak,and they say carroll goes over easy!!

It was a clear penalty, come on. It was not a red card though as the ball went away from goal. The ref got it spot on, give him some credit.

Read the rules - last man prevented a clear goal scoring opportunity = red card

It wasnt a clear goal scoring oppurtunity. the Yak was never getting to the ball first

A clear goal scoring oppurtunity when the balls going away from goal and is closer to Coates than it is Yakubu, who also had is back to goal?! I think the Ref deserves credit, think he got it spot on!

Ed's do you think Liverpool will lodge and appeal today against Doni's red card? I hope I don't offend you blue mate. But Everton and their fans mean absolutely squat to us LFC fans. You keep trying to give us banter but you do realise, you are Everton, don't you? The Mancs have good reason to give to give us banter as our trophie records are unequaled, in the English game. If you being above us in the league is the only reason you are on here, then that's pretty sad and embarrassing tbh.

May I suggest the next time you want to give a bit banter. You should maybe try posting on a page of a team that is roughly at the same level as your small club. Someone like Fulham, Sunderland etc, etc, pages.

I thought the Mancs were fickle because everytime they lose out come the Glazers out posts. I've been reading the Everton page in the last few weeks just to see if the 'Kenwright out' posts would continue. And not supprising they have dwindled.

2 things you have in common with the Mancs now, 'fickle' and 'classless'. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, it won't last long. Whether you beat us on Saturday or not.

Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Blair Mayne...you and your ilk are the reason I enjoy it here...

You make every fan in England laugh at you:) ...

I bloody love it here;)

Blue247

Actually blue247 I'd actually say that Blair Mayne just had you off mate.

It is sad that you've only turned up on here when you've managed to sneak past us in the league and not before and probably dissapear when you end up back below us, whether this season or next season, its pretty pathetic and you're the one bein laughed at.

If being a point ahead of us to you is classed as a victory then I think that says a lot about you and maybe where your club has been for the last 20 odd years.

17 years and counting mate.

You're right these forums are sooo much fun! : ) ; )

Hey leave Blue247 alone he goes back to school in a few days.

LOOOOOOL Blue 247 you own these fools

One poster and look at you lot, all wound up and totally flummoxed :) ;)

Brilliant.

To be honest though Everton have much more of a chance than winning the title or a trophy in the next ten years or so.
Looking at the squad Everton have more class aswell as skill in theirs.

I only saw the last ten minutes of the game last night and I was impressed by a few but how did Coates play? I saw him put in a good tackle but do you think he'll would have fought into Kenny's number 3 CB? -McMenemy

He should have been 3rd choice cb a long time back. Carra has become a complete liability. It wud be nice if he admitted it rather than being told to leave.

11 Apr 2012 09:41:38
This is a post to the "fans" on this site...

I was watching the game last night with my laptop sat in front of me, after watching us go 2 - 0 up i refreshed the page to see what the comments were, I also refreshed after incidents like the red card and conceding, it went from great, to Kenny is a joke, we are going to lose, Andy Carroll is a disgrace E.T.C.

We was winning 2 - 0 and cruising, Flanno plays a poor back pass and Doni gets sent off, I mean seriously, how can Kenny get any sort of stick for that?

I play in a semi-pro league and i can tell you when we play against ten men it changes the game so much it's unreal.

As for Poor Flanno, i seriously hope he never reads this page, this is a young kid who came in last season and was fantastic, last night he had his first setback he was shocking yes, but does not deserve any abuse, he is still a young kid learning his trade, yet everyday i read people saying why don't we throw the kids in and play? maybe Kenny knows what savages he is feeding them to if they under perform a little.

Henderson last night was fantastic, he did get beat a few times but he is not a right back, but he done everything else right, he put a hell of a shift in and at 85 minutes in he was still the first player up to support Bellamy from a Blackburn set piece which was cleared.

Andy Carroll, felt sorry for him when we went down to 10 men as he looks a much better player with someone playing just off him, but he worked very hard and got his reward with a winning goal!

MOM for me though was Jonjo, fearless always looking for the ball, driving forward and not afraid to tackle, i seriously think after his last few games he should be playing Saturday.

3 Points on the board now and we just need to keep going and see where we end up, i wish though some of the fans who criticize the team so often would just get behind the players and managers a lot more, especially the links of the young ones like Flanno, Henderson and even Carroll a bit of support would do so much for the lads.

G BOX

I wish though some of the fans who criticize the team so often would just get behind the players and managers a lot more ..............
#
Sto saying this bollox! It's about time the players got behind the fans and worked for their money! This claptrap endless saying of the same "support the team" is boring boring boring.

What, 'support the team' is now just claptrap in your eyes, is it?
After a hard-fought win a man down?
You're either a manc trolling, or a complete idiot.

Can I ask you mate- in what sense do you think you could be described as an LFC 'supporter'?

Great result last night although i do wonder about kennys decision making sometimes. Flanno had already been booked, was looking very nervous and then warned after another foul. Surely that was time to take him off, especially with Aurelio and Enrique on the bench. Switch Johnson to right back and i think the game would have been won a lot more comfortably. Still, great to see a bit of spirit and digging in from the young lads, thought Henderson and Shelvey were superb.

Brian

'Brian' think he was just tying to show Flanno that he trusted him. I agree in hindsight should have taken him off but perhaps Daglish believed he could get his act together.

11 Apr 2012 09:24:09
Its nice to see some praise for hendo.thought he was fantastic last night and deserves the support and praise..the average age of last nights team was so young with flan no hendo carrol Coates shelvey spearing...it does look ok for the future..walk on.

Yep you showed them Rovers wots wot innit...

They might think twice now ...before they mess with the Reds eh?

You lot looked like bloody Barca ha ha ha :))))

Try the Everton site mate

Last night was a good result, a good performance in testing circumstances. Players showed qualities which have been lacking for most of 2012, fight, determination, resolve, character!

In isolation it is a win against a relegation threatened team, one we should be winning whatever the circumstances. One result doesn't paper of the cracks as you say, but returning to winning ways is a nice feeling.

As for Saturday, the Derby is a free-for-all. As the cliché goes form goes out the window, last time we played them we were out of form and we won 3-0

May just be total nonsense but we get a result with 10 men without Carragher and Gerrard. Suarez as well but could there be a better 'team' without Carragher/Gerrard both? More so Carragher i feel.

Spriggo

The team looked better without, Gerrard, Carra, Adam, Downing and dare I say it Reina (looking fed up lately)
Hendo, Shelvey and Coates are the future, and if Carroll shakes himself up he will be part of it.

Just saw kennys interview on sky. Why do you show yourself and the football club up? Also TalkSport are having a right go at you for this reason. For Gods sake grow up!

Who cares what talk sport think. Great result and performance last night.

FowlerisGod

I personally dont give a s**te what Talksport think or Sky.

There does seem to be an issue with Sky and Andy Burton (Carragher after the League Cup Final) but why do we need the media to love us? We are are LFC.

Spriggo

We all have to deal with people we don't like, approve of, hate etc. It's part of life. If this was the first time it happened, then I would understand, but it happens all the time. He just looks ridiculous trying to walk away from the interview and being ushered back in.

I do think that Burton shouldn't have asked Jones the question, but Kenny does this all the time.

Ash

"but why do we need the media to love us? We are are LFC.

Are you for real? Welcome to 1980! The sort of attitude that has seen us fall down the league and be an also-ran team for the past 20 years!

The two fat mancs on talksport will take any chance to slag us off,the bald ginger one was more upset, that he had a score draw bet, rather than reporting on the game!

Not really sorry to say this anymore but KK is becoming a man under seige. His SKY interview last night showed a man whose body language said he was annoyed, uncomfortbale and not wanting to be asked question.
Magnificent player.
Great managaer first time around.
Hopeless comunicator.
PR disaster.
I would not be surprised if people came on saying he was a god, a Messiah, a real LFC man and a alegend. He's some of those but a man out of water and I bet a man who is making FSG wince.
The Americans know how to do media interviews. We just seem to hate the media here and KK was rude. The pressure has gotten to him again.
I've nothing personal against him, but as a manager of a big club he doesn't know how to do the PR bit.

11 Apr 2012 09:01:19
Great result lads, well done. But I'm afraid Kenny you are a disgrace. You embarrass yourself and Liverpool football club with your disgraceful interviews.

Carra should be moved into coaching...when he plays for us our defence has to defend 18 yards deeper as he has no pace, reducing the pressure on the opponents midfield

Carragher should be moved to coaching a league 2 team far away from liverpool. The further the better.

I guess I am a bit behind but I have read the comments from Alan Davis along with his explanation for them regarding the Hillsborough disaster and I am shocked with what eh said.

I understand where he is coming from (I think) in terms of that not many players will be affected by playing on that day however....

It is not about the players, it is about the supporters. There will be many people who had relatives or friends, maybe even just somebody from there street who died and they will want to spend that time paying their respects, not watching a football game.

This was maybe not taken into account when the comments were made but Alan is an intelligent guy and if you are going to discuss such emotional issues you need to make sure you fully understand what you are talking about, and I dont think he did, very very poor on his part.

I am too young to remember the disaster, born the day after but pass on my thoughts to all those who lost somebody they knew.

Not sure what everyone else is thinking but we need a big shake up in the summer.. we need to drop a good few players to make space for new blood (young players coming through) and new stars we need to purchase!

I think the following should be sold.. given away in the summer!

GK: Reina, Doni
DF: Aurelio
MF: Adam, Maxi
ST: Kuyt

I also reckon Carra should retire and step down to a coaching role.

Give Downing, Hendo & Carroll more time they will come good!

We need another striker, maybe two.. a top right winger.. a solid centre back to cover Agger as Coates isn't good enough yet and a creative midfielder to take over from our fantastic skipper!

We are still far away from winning the league but if we make some more huge changes over the summer we could be good for the season after next!

Come on you REDS!

Yep, sell the best keeper in europe. Thats the way forward

FowlerisGod

Although i think maxi will go,,,, he has 11 goals in 10 starts van persie would be happy with return yet we dont play him

Just wondering what ur thinking is behind selling Reina and Doni possibly the best No1 and No2 in the league?....agree with your other sales but shake up at goalkeeper doesn't seem necessary

I wud keep maxi. Always liked him as a player, hard working and intelligent player.

Could Big Andy getting unfairly booed off by his once beloved newcastle fans be a turning point for him? Was that the moment it put everything in perspective for him? I think they may have sparked a wire...

I feel there's a beast of a player lurking at Anfield who has just been rudely woken up.

C'mon AC, bring home the cup double and set the league alight next season we know you can do it!

Brad.... im sure Luca was shining down giving you a sparkle of luck today. Hopefully it carries on through the next few weeks. Yewbluddybewdy mate!

Skrtel was a beast.
Hendo showed why he is a future LFC Captain
Maxi needs to play every game till season end.
And clean shaven AC busted his nut and got a reward for his hard work finally.

Lol some of you make me laugh, no way is henderson future captain, more like agger. Henderson is no more then overrated, 1 game above average in the whole season and you all get carried away. RedTurk

Agree on brad jones but arnt you getting a little carried away after 1 performance against a poor blackburn side saying henderson is the next captain, hes been awful all season,1 good game doesnt make him the future captain

phil

I doubt henderson will ever captain liverpool. I do rate him, but withe suso and adorjan coming through, i see him being only a squad player, definitely not a starter.
BTW, carrol is still c**p. One decent performance in 10 games is nowhere near liverpool quality.

Just read most of the comments about Kenny's interview on Sly Sports. I just want to say Andy Burton is a f*cking low life scum bag.

I read a few articles in recent months about the up coming auction, on who buys the PL live coverage rights. I bring this up because apparently Al Jazerra have entered the frame to make a bid for the rights.

Al Jazeera have already bought Canal + from the FFF. And if they were to make a bid, there's no-one who could compete with them (Money ways) As they are owned by the Qatari's, who have unlimited resources to out bid any other bidders.

These Qataris are single handedly trying to create a a new, richer more unbiased coverage of the PL and European football in general.

I also read from one of the articles, that Al Jazeera have recognised that Sly Sports. In there time so far as custodians of the PL have been biased towards other clubs (which we already knew)

2 things could happen if the Al Jazzera bid is genuine.

A) Al Jazeera will succeed.

(B) Sly will have to match whatever Al Jazzera bids.

Either way the PL will get richer and so will the clubs.

Peter Scudamore (CEO PL) said when asked about the Al Jazeera bid and could they really give it to someone else? He replied, 'We only have one rule. That is who ever bids the most, will get the rights'

Heard anything Eds? Thanks

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Ps. The boys showed a bit of commitment today, which got us the 3 points. Brad Jones was fantastic today and if I were Kenny Id have him in the starting 11. Even with Doni back, id still have Brad as our no.1.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96 {Ed001's Note - I haven't heard anything about that, probably best to ask 002 in the morning mate.}

{Ed002's Note - Blair, Al Jazeera will likely bid for the rights to show EPL games across their European network (outside of the UK and the ROI). I would put aside any thought of their recognising bias etc..}

Andy burton was doing his job last night Blair. It was Kenny's antics walking off during a interview that was low. Why did he do it? Kenny since his first role as manager has always been ignorant to the press so it isn't a sky bias thing.
Did you see on sky sports new today all the plaudits for Carroll? They're not bias at all, they report the team's doing well first and then those aren't last! Utd, City, Arsenal etc will get coverage before us because they're above us in the league. It isn't any bias thing. You and other Liverpool fans need to stop this obsession or paranoia that the world is against Liverpool Football Club.

YNWA

Fascinating post. Thanks Blair - gonna read the papers now. There must be something on this I imagine.

BJH YNWA.

Sky/News Corp have never been good to us, since the Hillsborough disaster unnamed poster. I'm not paranoid mate just frustrated that we don't get an even playing field. But do you expect from a firm that is being investigated for phone hacking in the UK and the US. And now Sly news were caught hacking into peoples emails. When you read this mate I think we all should be paranoid.

Mark Bolton was sacked by Sly for having to much of an opinion. Whilst hosting Revista la liga. If Mourinho (the presses darling) managed our club, there would be no change. If you do not abide to the gospel according to Sly, they can/will make life very difficult. We should be used to it, they've been doing it for over 20 years. And will probably continue for ever because we will never, ever accept the S*n into our households again.

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

Ps. Sly also own the rights to show MUTV, says it all really. {Ed002's Note - We are done with this matter now.}

Maxi rodriguez just saved us from another defeat. he is a winger and we are not playing him when our team lacks one. whats KK thinking. give him a chance as our team seriously needs a winger and downing aint performing well. give him a go KK.

redh0t

How many times did maxi run down the wing and take a man on, cause that's what wingers do.
Do not take that as a criticism of maxi, think he is a player who could've made a big difference. You can never have too many creative players on the pitch, albeit creative players who have a tendency to go missing for large portions of games.
Saying that, his goal to minute ratio is Truely staggering!

I'd play him until the end of the season. He adds that little bit extra up front that we've been missing quite a lot this season.

Eds and reds want your opinion did anyone notice the way that carroll celebrated after his goal today looked like he genuinely wanted to do well...my question is do you think that he may start putting more heart in games now seeing the way liverpool fans were shouting when he scored and do you believe he could be a good player for us? Maybe he just needs a whole season to get used to it...

KingMiz {Ed001's Note - hard to say, he never really wanted to leave Newcastle and it has clearly affected him. He does need time to settle in and adjust his style of play to suit ours. But he will need to be professional, stay in, eat right, cut back on drinking etc, to achieve his potential.}

11 Apr 2012 02:03:23
Love the confidence from shelvey for such a young lad, henderson could learn a thing or 2 from him. Not afraid to try something or take a shot, and if he gets he wrong he goes again, always trys to go forward.

Four seasons unbeaten on FM2012, I guess that makes me the perfect candidate for the Liverpool job, at least it would on the logic of some 'fans'.
To call for Kenny to be sacked is rediculous, he is the only person around with the sort of passion for the club that is needed, and that's just for starters.
Yes, we may have had a bad run, it may be worse than Woy, but he takes no pleasure in that, unlike Woy last season who stated that a 2-0 loss to Everton was our best game. We have been playing good football, unfortunately the goals that should have followed such football haven't done as such.
This is not down to Kenny completely, his loyalty to an expensive striker who is just not good performing is understandable, and I for one certainly was not expecting the miracles so many of you so obviously were.
The players must also shoulder much of the blame, they are sent out after having the best demanded from them by both the manager and the fans, what they then do on the pitch is up to them, and them only.
The league season may well have been disappointing, yet we may still end the season with more silverware than the rest of the league combined, I certainly wasn't expecting that, and it cannot be ignored. Chelsea have proved time and time again that you do not resolve problems by going through managers like a fat child through candy floss.
Ultimately, if you still continue to call for Kenny's head, then may I suggest that you instead don the sky blue of Manchester City, and sit with former Salford United and Chelsea fans instead of continuing to embarrassing those of us who really do support our team.
Rant over, good job by the way eds, I especially admire the way you deal with those with their head in the clouds.

(Carra for the England job)

My goodness!.
That was a real 'comedy of errors', and we were very lucky that Jones didn't get a red as well.
I am just thankful for the win.
One really has to feel for Jones, the poor guy was soo nervous, hope he can steady that for the semi.

Glad AC got a goal, that said he missed a absolute sitter, certainly not worth the £35m paid, maybe only £5-10mn certainly no more.

Well done the Reds, not pretty, but certainly exciting!.

Having played as a striker all my life i can assure you, a diving header when theres feet flying about takes a lot of bottle to go for, and if you think it was a sitter you're clueless. He did exceptionally well to lose his marker and was unlucky the ball just curled away from him or he would've scored. My only criticism of him tonight was he could've watched the line a little better, but other than that he was excellent. So go back into your hole and come back to moan when we next lose please.

Hi ed, what was it Kenny said to sly which everyone Is getting annoyed about? I know burton made disgrace ful comments to poor brad jones but what did kk say to burton? Akpu (new poster) {Ed001's Note - I am not sure to be honest. I didn't see anything to get annoyed over personally.}

I don't like sky reporters, nor do i care how Kenny deals with the interviews, but i didn't think what the guy said to brad jones was that bad :S He just said "i noticed the look up to the sky"... Brad then went on to speak about his son. The reporter was merely acknowledging Brads touching notion towards his son, and Brad din't seem to care, so don't use that as an excuse as to why Kenny was twitchy in the interview. Kenny just hates sky over the Suarez interview. Thats it!

YNWA! (Adam)

Just like with half of what goes on with the club it's absolutely nothing. I didn't hear the comments, but had someone on here tell me what was said and once again it was much ado about nothing.

Talk about looking for trouble when there wasn't any.
If anything Kennys media training hasn't kicked in yet!!!

Also, I just watched the interview Kenny gave to BBC. Watch it, and you'll understand. Kenny just hate Sky, if not then it must be Burton.

To all of you who keeps asking why sterling doesn't get to play, I think the answer is pretty obvious there. Dalglish obviously doesn't want sterling to get on a plane to euro12 as the summer will be used to adapt sterling into the first team.

Sterling was given a letter about representing Team GB in the Olympics, i think Henderson was as well.

I think people make a big thing about Raheem Sterling playing, not playing. He only just turned 17 years old in December and has made an appearance for the first team against Wigan.

He's progressing well a head of schedule and everyone needs to keep their feet on the ground and be patient.

What was asked about Jones mate? {Ed001's Note - he was asking questions about his son that died, you just don't do that to someone who has lost a child! You need to show some respect, there is nothing in life that can ever compare to losing your child.}

Cheers Ed, I seen that bit, read what you said wrong, sorry! I loved how Brad reversed the whole thing arou d and mentioned about his new son being born! YNWA {Ed001's Note - I just can't believe that Sly would consider it reasonable to ask questions like that in a football interview. It would have been very easy to just refer to it without being insensitive. That poor guy has gone through hell, I really hope he plays this weekend and has a blinder, winning MOTM and then shoves the award right up where the sun don't shine on Burton!}

I agree ed, I share Kenny's hatred of the press, they're always looking for a headline, probably hoping they'd get a soundbite of Jones saying "the penalty save was for my son" or something, they sicken me the lot of em

Red Ollie {Ed001's Note - Burton is just trying to offend to get his name in the papers.}

Best of luck to Brad on the weekend YNWA

Get a grip folks - he didn't say anything bad about it - he was humble and polite when asking his questions.

Of course the media were gonna talk about his son - thats what everyone down the pub was talking about , and the commentators, my missus was saying how nice it was that he did well - and she doesn't really care about football.

In fairness, the interviewer praised Jones for his character and portrayed the story in a postive light. He even seemed reluctant to bring it up, hence the "you pointed to the sky" reference.

It's not like he blurted out "Your son died, you saved a penalty, comment" -
Is it?

Jones seemed unruffled and handled it all very well. (no joke about the penalty he conceded intended).

BJH YNWA.

ps - The interview with Carra was a different case. Lets save the moaning for the real issues though - that really wasn't so bad.

pps - Well done Jones. He has suffered a terrible tragedy so it's good to see something go right for him. It would have been horrible if he had a shocker - instead he contributed to a good win.

ppps - I hate Sky too. {Ed002's Note - Done.}

With shelvey showing so much quality lately I have a feeling spearing will not be a Liverpool player next season. If the club can get 3m or 4m for him that would be great.

Would like to say how impressed I was and have been with Shelvey. I feel the boy has great potential to become and dare I say it a "very good" player for us. You can be forgiven for forgetting just how young he is, maybe because of us appearance. What strikes me the most about him is his composure and visible self believe, which channelled in the right direction could spell happy days both for us and himself.

Would also like to give a special mention to Jordan Henderson, who I have a lot of time for. I see a great player in the making under there. First I would like to say, has he performed to his best this season the answer would be no and could he give more the answer would be yes. But it is clear where his problem falls and even his harden critics and he has many have mentioned on many occasions albeit probably inevertedly is that at times this season he has looked visible petrified and overwhelmed. This reflects in his play where he chooses the easy or wrong option and retreats into his shell leading to the sideways or backwards passing, which in turn is leading to him getting frustrated at himself and the cycle continues. Would love the lad to have some of that self believe that JonJo has but it will come because he knows what he is capable and so do we.

If we are starting to think shelvey is good , thats where we have problems.

Thats cos Shelvey is not good , he is brilliant , and improving in every game , he is going to save the club 20 million , only 20 yrs old , and owns the midfield when he plays .

Ok i would like to ask several questions of the negative posters on this page

1) What more do you want from Andy Carroll? Tonight he played very well and his form recently hasn't been too bad. he scored a great winner and i think his best moment was a great take down to maxi in the second half. he deserves a bit of credit for what he did tonight.

2) although he did make a bad mistake for the sending off of doni why is necessarily his fault for the two goal lead we lost? why not glen johnsone's who failed to mark the yak properly for the first goal or toni for drooping the ball after the yak dropped it?

3) tonight 3 of kennys signings showed very well. henderson, who in the centre of midfield looked very good and is still very young. Coates who once again showed that he could one day be one of the best. And Andy carroll as well. He put in areal workers performance. Really showed his spirit. Why are we calling KK's transfer policy bad? We have seen glimpses of what all of them can do and with more time they will gel and we will become a great team.

(btw great page)

Tyrone

Sorry mate, AC is still crap.
Never worth £35m, maybe £10m (if pigs fly!).

Great post Tyrone. Unfortunately, anyone hoping that AC will play like 35m will be sorely disappointed - spread that figure over the next 5-10 years of service from him and you might get a realistic estimate of his talents. Great game by the geordie tonight. Well done Andy

It was flanagan who caused us problems!

Carrol wont be here for long. If macca's info is spot on, soldado n suarez will be our first choice forward line. Carrol will be a bench warmer.

What a game, everyone played there part in a great match. For me though, Jordan Henderson really put in a shift at RB and took an more players today than the whole season so far! Maxi really came outta the traps, I'd like to see him get more game time (alongside Bellers). Shelvey also deserves a mention.

Flanno will probably want to move on pretty quick, but hey, it's all good experience at least we won.

Made up for Big Andy.
