Hi Ed's, just reading an article regarding Oliver Bierhoff moaning of young German talent leaving and going to England. He mentioned Sané! But he also mentioned Leon Goretzka is moving to England. Could we be in for him? Would Klopp be in his ear?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any illegal approach and it was simply an example.}

10 Nov 2017 22:21:32
Bierhoff specifically says he is moving to England. I️ know he is free to speak to people clubs in January. Surely the player has an idea where he wants to play next season and so he can start planning his life over the coming months. Do you think he is a possible signing?

{Ed002's Note - It was simply an example. Move on, or are you suggesting yet another illegal approach by Liverpool?

10 Nov 2017 22:36:40
Not suggesting any illegal approach. Just saying he would have an idea of what city he will be living in and will need to start planning over the coming weeks and months. I’m sure Emre Can knows where he will be playing next season. Also Bierhoff was moaning about the money English clubs can offer. I’m suggesting he will be playing his trade in England next season and wanted to try get your opinion on the probality if he could sign for Liverpool!

{Ed002's Note - There is no agreement and clearly you can’t have any grasp about how the rules work. Take all of this nonsense to the European pages rather than. Clutter up the Liverpool page.}

11 Nov 2017 14:47:38
Irish, Naby is Emre Can's replacement, not Goretzka. Also, Bierhoff gave his opinion and even if Goretzka is off to England, there are tens of teams in the English League (all 4 professional divisions) he can go to. I propose that you just move on and stop clutching at straws.

10 Nov 2017 19:52:59
Just tuning in to watch the England, Is it just me or do others Maguire is poor? (to be kind) I think Gomez is on par if not slightly better.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

10 Nov 2017 20:12:06
Will try and stay awake long enough to check.

10 Nov 2017 20:34:33
Gomez on. Come on Lad show em what you can do,

10 Nov 2017 21:00:49
I'm not watching it because watching England is like watching paint dry but good luck to Gomez!

10 Nov 2017 21:38:30
Yeah i got bored and turned over 😩.

11 Nov 2017 14:51:01
Canadian, it's not just you. For the life of me, I have never understood this love-in (by some in the media) for Maguire. He is slow, clumsy, always out of position and can't track back (well, cos he is slow) . Bang awful player.

10 Nov 2017 16:36:59
Question for ed001 and fellow reds, if klopp was to leave us in the near future who would you guys like to see as his replacement, personally I would like to see rafa back with Gerrard as his number 2.

Believable3 Unbelievable17

10 Nov 2017 17:41:34
Rafa would need a warm, friendly personality as no. 2 to balance out his own more reserved relationship with the players. I don't think Gerrard would provide that, not to mention he'd probably have one eye on Rafa's job.

Gerrard's doing a good job where he is with the kids, he's best off staying there another while.

10 Nov 2017 17:41:46
The Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri who looks to be an excellent manager or Massimiliano Allegri the Juventus manager.

10 Nov 2017 17:55:21
Rafa is the past and people need to let it go and let the past be the past. He is at Newcastle for a reason and is no lon ger ther manager he once was, not even close. There's a reason why the owners NEVER brought him back each time we needed a new manager.

People can have their opinions BUT He left us a decade ago and why people want him back is beyond belief, really. Foot ball has moved on and Sarri is doing a much better job than Rafa did at Napoli as he ironically, replaced him at Napoli. Sarri would be my pick, too.

10 Nov 2017 19:05:12
I like Klopp and don't won't want him to go anytime soon but when that time comes then it would have to be Sarri of Napoli without a doubt, he has them playing some beautiful football with the short passes but with a purpose and moving it quickly.

10 Nov 2017 19:52:21
Good shout with the Napoli boss, very impressed with the way they have been playing, I'm not sold on Jürgen imo he is a very nice bloke but I think he lacks tactical knowledge. Which rafa has in abundance and Stevie would learn a lot from him and would eventually fill his shoes.

10 Nov 2017 20:02:46
Only and Only. Diego Simeone.

10 Nov 2017 20:20:08
Conte.

10 Nov 2017 20:30:13
Pochettino.

10 Nov 2017 21:26:27
Paul Jewell.

10 Nov 2017 21:33:37
Only situation I could see for rafa is if he is unassigned and we fired klopp mid-season so we needed an interim. That I could see working and would. Also if we got into that situation mid-season that the romance of a reunion with rafa May in itself bring enough stability to right whatever wrong had lead to klopp, or whoever being axed.

10 Nov 2017 23:31:52
Rafa and Alonso.

Ok they don't get on so it would never happen but I think Xabi will be an excellent coach/ manager if he wants to be.

10 Nov 2017 23:48:13
Sven goran eriksson 😁😁.

11 Nov 2017 07:38:17
David Moyes for me.

11 Nov 2017 10:50:36
West Ham wanted Sarri and got Moyes! Sarri is top drawer and will likely be at Chelsea next season.

11 Nov 2017 11:26:58
Marcelino of Valencia, has them playing some great football.

11 Nov 2017 14:53:43
Would that be the same Marcelino that Klopp thumped in the EL semi final while at Villareal? Apart from that, he is a very good manager. Rafa is the past and he should stay there.

10 Nov 2017 16:20:37
see courtinho was an unused sub this morning for Brazil what's he even doing on the bench if he's missed the last 3 games with an injury must be the brazilan air it cured his back injury pretty quick at the start of the season should send clyne over there he'll be fit within a few days.

Believable0 Unbelievable6

{Ed002's Note - The game was played in France.}

10 Nov 2017 21:04:11
Coutinho's attitude towards Liverpool was shocking. But that doesn't mean we have to make a headline whenever the guy sneezes. The guy sat on their sub bench . Leave him be! And watch Gomez playing for England.

YNWA.

11 Nov 2017 17:41:46
This is starting to get ridicoulous.

10 Nov 2017 15:15:24
I️ thought Klopp's comments a month or so ago that Can and Coutinho were being professional and getting on w their football were naive.

He said "We, as a club, have to give everything until the players give me a sign that they are somewhere else, " said Klopp. "So far there is not a shadow of a doubt that he's not 100 per cent here. "

That was about Can specifically but coutinho was mentioned also in the article. I️ just thought Barcelona would b all over a comment like that and get in coutinhos ear even more hence the "injury" he has now. Hoping psg come in w an offer Barcelona can't match.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

10 Nov 2017 15:35:46
Coutinho wants barce so it doesn't matter what psg offer if they where to come in with a bid.

10 Nov 2017 15:40:58
Well like you said Klopp was talking about Can, Coutinho had nothing to do with it. Do you suggest Klopp stops talking entirely about anybody or anything just in case someone decides to write an article about Coutinho?

10 Nov 2017 17:56:30
Cou wants to go to Barcelona and that is the fact, regardless of who said what.

10 Nov 2017 22:13:37
I thought he wanted to play with Neymar?

11 Nov 2017 09:04:34
Barca hasn't got long left at the top. Soon as Messi gets old they'll slip out of the elite in my opinion.

11 Nov 2017 10:10:44
Redflyers i think you have to learn to take what managers say with a pinch of salt, I like Klopp and Im not saying he was lying but most if not all managers just deflect from main issues and don't tell 100% of the truth, like they ain't going to come out and say "I think he's a rat or id like to throw him in the Mersey", no manager wants to broadcast the inner workings.

10 Nov 2017 13:42:14
The international break hasn't even started yet and i'm so bored!

Believable10 Unbelievable1

10 Nov 2017 14:47:28
Lol I know how you feel.

10 Nov 2017 16:08:21
International breaks are a curse.

10 Nov 2017 16:54:24
I said on Chelsea page eds should start a international banter page but didn't even get posted
At least we could all chat about something.

{Ed001's Note - it was held for Ed033 so he can set it up.}

10 Nov 2017 17:22:19
Wonder what the Northern Ireland and Switzerland fans were doing last night if international break hasn’t yet started.

{Ed025's Note - good point..

10 Nov 2017 17:22:19
At Nice 1 eds really appreciate that
At least we can all chat and moan about how rubbish our countries are lol thanks again.

10 Nov 2017 17:49:31
Mcgovb I live in Belfast and that's why I would like a international page there was a lot of talking points from last night's game
in english but just like talking about footy to other fans I hate social media Twitter and stuff.

10 Nov 2017 17:59:46
I did watch the Croatia-Greece game and it was a good one. Sorry, I grew up on international footie and comps. as a kid in the 90's (when they actually meant something) cos that is where you made your name and where Balon D'Or's were won so I just can't let it go. I intend to watch more of it tonight.

11 Nov 2017 12:36:52
Going to get pretty crazy once they’re back ;)

10 Nov 2017 06:22:54
I am so bored at work and this international duty is killing me so i am watching players on youtube.

So i though i'd share with you guys,

this is Mostafa Fathy, he is Mohamed Salah's sub in the Egyptian National team. Hope you like the video :)

10 Nov 2017 09:02:13
Reminds me of Aiden McGeady.

10 Nov 2017 10:07:18
aiden mcGeady? hahaha, this guy is left footed and actually a very good player, was on his way to one of Marsielle or Torino a year back but his club wanted too much money and now he plays in Saudi Arabia because they are willing to pay the money! McGeady? that is sensationally hilarious :) Thanks for the laughs!

10 Nov 2017 10:44:56
Never heard of him, youtube can make anybody look good, maybe even me!

10 Nov 2017 11:23:11
Assaidi 😆😆😆.

10 Nov 2017 11:20:20
Actually that Youtube can make anybody look good is a myth, its not a way to judge players that's 100% true, but i've seen many full games of this guy and he is a very good player. Problem is i can't post full games about a player nobody heard of or cares about. It's not like i am looking for us to sign him or anything! hehe.

10 Nov 2017 11:31:40
He looks good, but then again, Aiden McGeady looks good on YouTube as well. He's got great footwork, but it looks like he over does it at times. There are one or two occasions he runs himself into a dead end and loses the ball. That's just my opinion based on the clip. Not actually seen him play before. Not saying he is terrible. Just saying he reminds me of Aiden McGeady - tricks and flicks, and the odd end product.

10 Nov 2017 11:44:37
Assaidi looked like Maradona!

10 Nov 2017 12:00:30
Agreed on Assaidi! Lol. I remember the signing catching me completely off guard and thinking "Who is this? " - then went straight to YouTube and it got me soooo excited! "Such skill and such a great price" I thought! Low and behold.

10 Nov 2017 12:24:12
Anyone who can kick a ball in a straight line can look good in the Saudi league, that rules out Migs though lol.

10 Nov 2017 12:47:11
that footage is from the Egyptian league, African Champions league, and various Egyptian Nationals teams. He moved this summer to Saudi league. I agree, the Saudi league is for players to make money, really bad standard.

10 Nov 2017 13:51:16
Never go full Egyptian. All successful team go only half Egyptian.

11 Nov 2017 12:32:16
But going full Brazilian is ok ;)

10 Nov 2017 06:18:06
Watched the n Ireland Switzerland game last night and zakaria the Swiss midfielder looks a great player what do you think eds cheers.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - about what?}

09 Nov 2017 18:59:21
Hey ed01im enjoying the list football greats being mentioned. how about clarence seedorf on your list of greats, did he make it already or does he not cut it for you?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - he is defo on there mate. Seedorf was top class.}

10 Nov 2017 18:04:10
Ed, he was the complete midfielder. He could play anywhere in midfield and in any system having won Leagues, Cups the CL 4 times with 3 different teams. He along with Kluivert, Kanu, Reiziger and so on with Rijkaard and Van Der Sar as the old heads, proved w/ o a doubt that you indeed CAN win things with kids when they outclassed a good BUT flawed Milan team, a shadow of the one that swept Barcelona aside in the CL final in 1994. Brilliant player and a true legend.

11 Nov 2017 12:35:35
How about Edgar Davids. loved the goggles.

09 Nov 2017 18:51:08
Enjoyed the transfer window article Ed001.

Agree we failed to sign a CB which could lead by example but I just want to say that Matip is starting to look a bit better. He was not that bad when he started off his career at Anfield. If anything, I believe right now, Gomez should be lining up beside him as Lovren has been here long enough and proven time again he ain't good enough and Klavan well, he tries. At least not worse than Skrtel.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I must be watching a different player, he has not had to defend recently but when he does he is still as lazy as ever and leaves Gomez stranded. The worst player I can think of to put a youngster next to.}

10 Nov 2017 11:08:52
Couldn't agree more there Ed1 when he first arrived I thought we had a player on our hands but no, he has not pushed on at all or adapted to the physicality of the league at all. Lazy and for a CB is to easily moved of the ball or out muscled in the pursuit of the ball.

The sooner we sign a CB of real quality and paid him with Gomez the better.

10 Nov 2017 12:33:28
if Lovren was fit I’d have him beside Gomez, said before I think he’d lift his game with the younger Gomez in beside him and will try and protect him. Not sure what Matip brings at all. My fear is when we start playing better more attacking teams Matip will sellnGomez down the river and the poor guy will be blamed for everything while the lazy git Matip gets praise on here for being a “footballing CB”.

10 Nov 2017 18:05:27
OP, Matip playing better? I suggest you go watch him again cos the player you describe does not exist in reality.
