I was at Brighton's Amex Stadium tonight to watch England U19's take on Denmark. Jon Flanagan was an absolute class apart - by far the best performance on that pitch tonight. DM

Edd, You seem to be well in the knowledge about who liverpool arent watching or looking to sign, Could you please tell us who we are watching? {Ed002's Note - You missed the lengthy earlier discussion on this I guess.}

10 Nov 2011 22:20:34
ed002 is a crank, more so than usual {Ed002's Note - It always happens when the vegetables get a little restless. If they aren't bleating about the players, then they are bleating about Dalglish, or they are bleating about me.}

No Ed002 it comments like "Liverpool haven't got £30m to spend". Our owners have vast sums of money and Although they will never sanction deals like shevchenko to Chelsea when they would never get a return on the player they would sanction a £30m deal if it represented a good investment.

Not saying we'll sign him by any stretch of the imagination however as an example if they thought a 19 year old Erikson would sign they'd stump up the cash. Maybe not so for a 29 year (even 1 as good a villa).

Huyton red {Ed001's Note - yes, yes, you know everything about it all I am sure.}

Man, this is getting ridiculous! If you dont like what the editors are saying or already have an idea yourself, then why ask the same questions over and over? Why argue with them if you dont agree with them? God this is turning into the argument sketch from Monty Python, apparently Huyton red will have the full hour. Anyway cheers eds for all the hard work and for what you have to put up with.
KiwiRed

I think that when someone doesnt agree with edd instead of agree to disagree the edd will give a sarcastic answer which gets the lads back up......personally if i dont like whats said i just wont bother with it but i can see why peeps get stressed as some times the edd is fairly sarcy.......but still well done eds for all you do and put up with.

matty b {Ed001's Note - you see you only see one reply, we have to deal with hundreds of abusive and nasty ones every time we say something people don't like.}

{Ed002's Note - Thank you KiwiRed. It would appear Huyton Red is someone else who thinks misquoting me will win you brownie points - I did not say (your quotes) "Liverpool haven't got £30m to spend". What I said was (correct quotation) "I also very much doubt Liverpool have something like £30M to spend on one player at this time". It is a long way from your misrepresentation. You should be working for the Sun.}

I know ed but maybe you shouldn't as not everone is a nob. Sometimes people just tryin to be sound and maybe you take it the wrong way. I do understand what your sayin though.....I'm a transport manager and I take greif all day and sometimes I get funny with people even if there sound just cos I get it all day long.

Anyways as s wise man once said.

Peace out gangsters.....lol

Matty b

Ed002 think the "sun" comment is a disgraceful thing to say to any scouser. Quite obvious there are certain things about our great club you don't understand.

I truly appologise that my quote wasn't word for word but my point was if the right £30m player was available the money is there to sign him.

I just think that every time I post you disagree with me despite the fact I have a genuine source. You spent 2 months telling me we won't be building a new ground and won't get circa £180m naming rights deal when I know we will.

I thought I am within my rights to disagree with you and even question u in the same way you do me. I'm not being threatening or abusive just opposing points of view.

Huyton red {Ed001's Note - Ed002 had a point with his comment regarding that rag, you completely twist comments and state falsehoods to try and make other people look bad. You have even done it all over again in this statement. You never read other people's comments properly, then you start arguing about something they haven't actually said. Not just once, but repeatedly you have done it. It is you that has jumped on everything said by other people and disagreed with it.}

10 Nov 2011 21:45:40
Is it just me or is Ed002 of the opinion that noone but city and Chelsea have any money?

Our new owners have vast sums of money between them and although they are far from "suggar daddy's" they are willing to spend. Quote from before the last transfer window,

Kenny "the only pressure I'm under is to buy more players" we only signed Bellamy after that on a free and sold raul for £12m.

Recent kenny quote "if we have to buy in January we will".

Camolli. "if we can find players that will improve the team we'll add them"

Quotes from the owner "comolli has excelled past what we expected"

Kenny "dc is constantly organizing the scouts and identifying targets.

If the right player becomes available the money will be available the money will be there no matter how much it is.

Can someone please let me know what happened to our young defender , Jakub Sokolik , he vanished in the summer like someone on the X-files .

Ritters

Yeah, he saw Charlie Adam, and his face frightened him off.

Nope i'm pretty sure that didn't happen..

10 Nov 2011 21:07:36
Edd 002. talking of the states, do you know of any up & coming north American players? and what ever happened to the `wonder kid` Adu? ( I think that was his name) I`m sure I heard a European club would sign him. Forgive me if I make no sense! Matty P {Ed002's Note - The world's oldest teenager Freddy Adu was at Benfica and I was in Monaco when he was loaned there a couple or three years back. He is now at the Philly Union I think - you would need to check. Timmy Chandler and Jozy Altidore are the great hopefuls.}

Chandler is good. Jozy needs to find the net, but he's so young I feel as if he'll be fine. Same with Agudelo. And you can't argue with Holden (at Bolton) and even Michael Bradley proving themselves in Europe already. As for young kids, we have some of the better ones in Pelosi and the other lad who I can't remember brought into the mix.

What about that teenage striker? i can't remember the name though

10 Nov 2011 21:22:06
Let's stop talking about other clubs' players; this is a Liverpool forum; talk about our players.
I know people are looking to the transfer window but it's getting ridiculous. Most name mentioned are never going to happen eg.Tevez and most we wouldn't want, anyway eg.errr Tevez, ha ha.
I don't care about non-Liverpool players. I have an opinion on the ones I've heard of but don't see the point of discussing the chances of them playing for us, or how well they'd do, or how much they'd cost.
Wait until they sign, then chat away.
We've got a lot of players that we could be talking about. I support the players of our club (though I can be critical) and no one elses.

It's a transfer rumour site. Do we buy Liverpool players?

That post was plain stupid.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

This is the banter section. And I suppose I just want a bit back up to some of these rumours, and not people pointlessly playing fantasy football.

"Plain stupid"; yeah, you're right.
Tevez and van Persie up front in January, then. Because Suarez has gone to Barca because we wouldn't sign anymore Uruguayans, to keep him happy.
What chance, Eds?.......eyes roll.

10 Nov 2011 19:59:58
With Giovani dos Santos wanting to leave Tottenham, is there any chance Liverpool would be interested in him.
He is a great player... Very quick as well.

If there are any good nightclubs in Liverpool, i doubt you would want to sign him!

Spurs are due to sign his more talented younger brother from barca in the summer, hope that his english its better than gios, gio doesn't understand the difference between football and night, but understands the word club

Night club or not he's goood just what we need. a outlet!! because i dont think one of our players will go it alone. they will either stop and look for the pass or give the ball away.

10 Nov 2011 19:33:07
How much money do you think Kenny will be given in January to spend?

GuvTOB

Difficult to say, 15M maybe?

They already said there will be no money available in january

When did they say that?

Was what they said taken out of context which seems to happen often?

A bid for Cahill and a striker (not a top striker) may not be out of the question depending on who's available and the fee required for their services?

Kenny actually said if they need players they'll sign them. It's not a case of how much we have to spend.

If a player is available on the right wages he'll be signed as long as it represents a good investment.

Huyton red

Nooooo to cahill

I reckon Kenny will be given his monthly salary to spend in Jan on whatever he wants.

Ash

10 Nov 2011 19:01:56
Hi Ed, Instead of me going through every player in the world and asking you, who do you know we are interested in for January?
Thank you! {Ed002's Note - I have a better idea. You read the posts and don't ask me anything because you are waisting a great deal of our time. This question has already been asked today and you are quite frankly too lazy to read any of the other posts.}

Just use the scroll button mate and look down the page. Get your grandson to help you if you don't know how to do it

Danny

You need a holiday 002

{Ed002's Note - FRom you perhaps. I shall be back to the States on Saturday for a while.}

Ed, is it wise to use an anti-dandruff shampoo if I have sensitive hair?
I have a pet labrador, if that helps?

Oh, and is the universe really only 13.5 billion years old? It just seems, well- older, somehow?

ED002

Despite our recent differences of opinion
and despite what you may reply

I hope you have a safe trip back to America and a good holiday.

Cheers,

Jonny

If ya wanted to know it 13.7billion years so yer it is a bit older

If you head into the Atlanta area, I'd love to grab a pint

McSnuggles

Are we going for the Universe in January? How much?

10 Nov 2011 18:54:54
Ed2 just reading about one of your posts that Liverpool operate at a lost and the owners wont throw money around in Jan which is fair enough.

But do you always see a significant amount of money available in the Summers?

Mighty reds {Ed002's Note - I expect much will depend on Champions League qualification. The business cannot sustain losses at teh level they are making. The last set of accounts show the year to June 201 and there was a £20M plus loss. To 2011 there will be a loss, and to 2012 there will be a larger loss.}

10 Nov 2011 17:36:08
You can change jobs. Girls come an girls go but there's only one team I'll ever love. LFC.

Let's h*** the whinging off and enjoy what we can.

10 Nov 2011 16:54:57
Any chance of Anelka on loan for 6 months? Would anyone welcome it?

No mate rather let Suso have a go

MJ

He wont come due to the way Liverpool treated him last time.....sorry.

10 Nov 2011 16:30:27
Would anyone on hear swap Suarez for both Tevez and Johnson..I would take it anyday but would like to hear other opionions on it.

Nope, both have s**t attitudes!

Keith

You must be off your head to even think that is or would be a good deal!!

Absaloutly no way

Square tomato

Really?? I mean you'd swap Suarez for Johnson??

Not a chance but if we could get Torres back for 15-20 million id take him back

Hardly worth responding too. i really cannot relate to the number of people who would like to see a mercenary like tevez at lfc. its depressing.

Really encouraging news- I read that Suarez is already talking about maybe staying at the club longer than the five year contract.
He likes being at LFC! Gentlemen, I think we have a 'keeper' :)

After the torres saga (should have really looked more at it from the athletico end when torres left them) I'm not getting my hopes up, just being more realistic on this one. But Suarez following the likes of Gerrard and Carra would be sweet though.

10 Nov 2011 16:18:02
eds. your are very pesimists over transfers ... why? {Ed002's Note - It is not being pessimistic. People ask if Villa, Ganso, Neymar etc. will join in January and they won't. The club have made it clear that their spending was done for the year in the summer. The owners don't have the money available to throw at getting more and more expensive players to suit the fans desire. The club is running at a significant loss and spending significant money will simply not be on the cards. If players are suffering long-term injuries or if players are leaving, then if sufficient cover does not exist in the squad, including those out on loan, the I am sure the owners will support buying replacements.}

You would be wise to remember that Ed 002 has no more idea of whether or not Liverpool's owners have significant funds at their disposal than anyone else on here. The best approach is to conduct your own research into these matters.

Red Owl {Ed002's Note - And you know this of me how? Come on, tell everyone all about me then.}

I thought Some of the people involved with John Henry and LFC were multi billionaires but that doesnt mean they will plug Man City money into us does it? Red Owl or do you know different

MJ

I should not take my criticism too personally, Ed002.You are not the first editor to have overreached his or herself in relation to events behind the scenes at Liverpool Football Club, and I doubt you will be the last. The reason I can state with such confidence that you you are unaware of the funds available to Liverpool Football Club's owners is simple. You do not know, because you are not one of Liverpool's owners, nor are you likely to be among the exclusive circle to whom Liverpool's owners make their financial information known. Anyone with even a modicum of knowledge or experience of Liverpool Football Club will be aware of the club's strictly 'in house' policy when it comes to situations of this nature. The very fact that you claim to know such private information is proof enough of the fact that you do not know. I hope this post will be published on the principle that not to do so would contravene my right to reply.

Red Owl {Ed001's Note - you really aren't reading what he said, you are completely missing the point. But that's because you are far too busy trying to pretend you know something, when clearly you don't.}

My understanding of the original post and the subsequent reply clearly exceed your own, Ed OO1. Perhaps if the English language confuses you, it may be time you fell on your sword, perhaps taking Ed002's damaged hubris along with you. The reply that Ed 002 made clearly states that Liverpool's 'owners don't have the money available... '. In making such a definitive claim, ED002 most either be privy to highly sensitive financial information regarding the funding available to the owners of Liverpool Football Club, or, which is far more likely, the editor in question has made a claim that he, or she, is unable to support. Once again, I ask you to respect my right to reply.

Red Owl {Ed002's Note - What I originally said was that they "don't have the money available to throw at getting more and more expensive players to suit the fans desire." You then took the opportunity to share with your position with a very bold statement that "Ed 002 has no more idea of whether or not Liverpool's owners have significant funds at their disposal than anyone else on here." Everyone is still awaiting you trying to avoid being a complete jerk by sharing with them all of the information that you have on me to substantiate your statement. It is interesting that you are now targeting poor Ed001 as well. So we await your response to that terribly bold statement - you have told everyone I know nothing - now substantiate that statement.}

If we dont sign a top striker in january we can forget about champions league football.
kopfiend 1978 nynwa

Leave it out Red Owl, the eds give accurate info and maintain this site we all enjoy.

Red Owl. You remain a coward and a cretin. Leave the Eds alone because every post you have made has been crap and you embarrass the true Liverpool supporters.

Kenny's saying he may need to field the youth team against Chelsea in the Carling cup. I am very disappointed in the premier league for not letting us bring our game forward against City due to tv rights.

Kenny has a point, how are you supposed to take the competition seriously when your forced to play 2 games in 48 hours.

I'm not saying this is fact, however my view is Liverpool seem to get stitched up and draw the short straw.

Chelsea will field a strong team and with all due respect to our youth players, I just can't see us beating them especially away at the bridge. If this is the case I hope we field the same team who's been playing in the next gen series.

What do you guys think? ED do you know if the carling cup games on tv?

TIZER RED.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know if it is on TV.}

Did brighton have to do the same thing? think they did? Did anyone voice their anger on here in support of brighton at the time?

They might have done on the brighton supporters banter page but this is the Liverpool supporters banter page hence why Tizer posted it here.
WelshScouse

Why would Liverpool supporters complain for Brighton fans? That's their job. It's our job when we feel Liverpool gets the short end of the stick. We're not supposed to be impartial.

Dalglish is the figurehead of our club, and he needs to voice his dissatisfaction on behalf of the fans and the club. Brighton's manager should have done the same, or else I would assume the club didn't really care much.

I support Liverpool not Brighton.

TIZER RED

Brington play home not away. there is a difrent betwin home match and away match.

^^ Im suprised you know its different looking at your spelling....wow.

^^^ surprise... wow

10 Nov 2011 15:07:00
the problem with liverpool at the moment is we arent finishing chances, we are creating as much as the top sides in the league if not more

ed do you think a natural finisher in the fowler mold is needed ? and if so who do you think would be a suitable candidate ?

cheers

redgaz {Ed002's Note - No.}

Short an sweet cheers

What about a extra early morning 2 hour shooting session every day for the players , they get paid enough , and surley this would help ............lfc

Was it babel who used to do hours of extra shooting practice to make him put more chances away? Prob didn't do him much harm, but he wasnt exactly leathal in front of goal either. Got to admire the effort he put in tho.
I suppose you have either got it or you don't when it comes to finishing, training can only do so much, it's a lot different when your in front of the kop, the likes of John Terry trying to break your ankles, and the excitement and pressure hits you. The only thing that will get our strikers firing is a confidence boost brought on by actually bagging a few goals, Carroll was unstopable last year until he came to us and the pressure Along with injurys took his confidence away. He seems to have got his hunger back he just needs to bag a few goals and he will be back to his best. Won't put a time limit on him but we signed him for what? 5 years? He looked like a 35m player at times last year for Newcastle. Imagine how good he might turn out if he regains his form and then inevitably improves further with age.

MIKEY

MIKEY i think i remember Babel saying that Rafa wouldnt allow him to do extra training like he did at ajax so he said his fitness and other attributes struggled

MJ

OMG lfc what are you doing on this page? im in shock, your usually over on the mans page lickin the ar$e$ or talkin about jow gr8 city are lol... D

Mikey I completely agree with you in regards to Andy Carroll.

MJ I think your right about RB doing extra training. I seem to remember reading about Raffa not letting him train. Also read that Hendo stays behind to do extra training. Hats off to the lad, makes me feel sick when I hear so called fans on here slagin our players off.

TIZER RED

Ahh yeah seem to remember now. If a player wants to actually do extra training he should be aloud, shows a bit of commitment especially when you hear of players not putting the effort into training or even turning up.
Back to andy Carroll, give him time, he will come good and start terrorising defences again. When he is as good again as he was for Newcastle we will have a special player. When he gets better with age we will have an unstoppable player. same can be said for hendo, it can't be easy being played out of position but it at least gives him some experience at being up against it all the time. You learn twice as much when things are twice as hard and your out your comfort zone.

MIKEY

If Hendo is doing extra training it's because the coaching staff think he needs it!!

I think the International Break has come at the perfect time for the club, players and staff given that we have two major league games coming up. They all need a break.
It's fair to say the Swansea performance was up there with the worst under the current regime. I'm glad Kenny said it as it was, we were poor, Swansea played well - they more than deserved their point. Under Woy the point will have been celebrated, it just shows the change in culture which was necessary at the club. The minority of fans booing however was a low point.
The next two games could well define our season. Two wins would haul us right back into the top 4 picture, 2 losses could at this early stage of the season set us way back considering Arsenal and Tottenham's current form. Everyone associated with the club needs to be pulling in the same direction in order to haul us back to where we want to be.

RedSG {Ed002's Note - You do appreciate that it is not a break for all of the players - Suarez for instance will be playing in Uruguay and in Rome.}

Kenny's jacket on a shaky peg!

Yes i understand that some players will still be playing games, but they may benefit from some time away for the pressures of playing for Liverpool.

For Henderson esp, a few games for the U21s where he is captain and played well in his natural position since being made captain could do his confidence the world of good. Downing may get a goal/assist for England which he hasn't done for Liverpool so far, which again would boost his confidence.

It is also a couple of weeks where Gerrard and Carragher can work to get over injuries without missing Liverpool games.

RedSG

Henderson DOES have a goal and an assist so far...

Matt S - YNWA

Sorry bud, just noticed you said Downing!

D'oh!

Matt S - YNWA

Downing could have had lots of assists, if the players on the end of his crosses had done better!

Keith

Thats if he had put quality crosses in.

I agree with Keith, players can only gets assists if the people they are assisting put the ball in the back of the net and we haven't been doing that enough this season.

id like to see RVP in the Jan window, what a superb striker and he seems to have gotten rid of hes injury issues which kept him out for periods.

Who agrees, RVP and Suarez with Bellamy on the left side....making me droooooooool....!

Neilos

Will never happen, as much I would luv to see it.
Gaz b

Arsenal would never let him leave. Pure and simple.

Iv heard a lot of talk about Kuyt going, luuk de jong coming and also johnson going. I agree with Johnson, although an opportunity at RW for him would be an option. Dirk going is understandable at his age, but what price woukd you get for.either. Id say around £10-12m for dirk and probably about the same for johnson due to his lack of games thus far. So approx £20m for both. De jong is sure to cost around £12-15m, but then we need another winger. If we get champs league i could see a decent winger, but someone like aiden mcgeady would do the job. For me, best option is Navas, a winger who terrified defenses with his pace. Any thoughts ed? I do understand theres been no interest in Navas but surely if were selling Dirk and Johnson we need a winger, because we already need another top.stiker anyway?

Anfield Andy {Ed002's Note - I don't see Johnson leaving in January.}

Penalty box predator to feed off Saurez would be great - oh look, we've already got one for free - step forward Dirk, you seem to have been forgotten in the efforts to find Henderson something useful to do. How quickly all your goals from exactly those positions have been forgotten.
ND

I think you're right there mate, kuyt is being sacrificed to intergrate carroll into the team, kuyt and suarez have a great understanding

10 Nov 2011 12:25:42
Do you not think Tevez's antics are so that he gets sacked and is free to join his beloved Argentina team?

Who cares? {Ed002's Note - It would not make him free to join another team - they would be obliged to pay his value as determined by tribunal in order to obtain his registration - and that will likely be £30M and up.}

So its knocks of approx £10m from the £40m valuation many claim City would demand. {Ed002's Note - These are approximate figures and I said £30M and up. City are asking £40 but may accept less. What id does not do is make him free to join another club - because they would still need to stump up a significant amount.}

Who in there right mind would even consider having someone like Tevez on there books? I'd prefer Carlton Cole to Tevez.

I'm sorry but if Man City sack Tevez then he is a free agent. I cannot see how they can then ask for a "transfer fee". Any employment lawyers out there who can comment? Personally, I think this is what Tevez is after.
Iggypop {Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with Employment Law, it is a simple case of a tribunal deciding his value.}

Didn't this happen with Mutu? Chelsea received a value based on a tribunal/court I believe....

Richards {Ed002's Note - Except they never got it and the debt now rests with the player. It is not going to go that route. I remain astonished at so many Liverpool fans wanting Tevez at Anfield.}

Aye, it makes you shudder Ed002

Cuchulainn's Hounds

Ed002, FYI I am not one of those fans... I admit the prospect in 2008 of a Torres - Tevez partnership sounded good but his lack of professionalism despite his undoubted talent disgusts me ... City/Inter/Madrid are welcome to him.

Richards {Ed002's Note - I agree Richards, and there was no implication you were. What surprises me so much is the fans who are lusting after Tevez.}

Tevez is a nightmare. No respect for any club or manager. He is a self serving, money grabber.

10 Nov 2011 12:13:04
Ed you seem to shoot people down who are in some cases only asking who we might sign and while i appreciate u get alot of questions about players, this is what this site is all about is it not?
To be honest I don't anyone is in the know because i don't seem to recall anyone saying we would get Hendo/Suarez...even you would have said ed002 "no chance..nope...none..."
I would hope we can get a creative midfielder in the january window and poss a cb as i have never been convinced by Skrtel. I do think that Kuyt could be our out/out goalscorer alongside Suarez though. Just needs that chance. But defo creative mid because thats all were lacking at the moment.
Any suggestions....realistic please so ed002 cannot shoot down... {Ed002's Note - This site is not about the editors answering the same questions over and over again. If you don't want a truthful response to a question, the answer is not to ask it. Or do you want me to say that Neymar will be arriving in January? If you wish to bleat and complain about Editors you should expect your posts simply not to get posted or a ban if your pitiful bleating goes too far or catches an Editor on a bad day. We give our time to do keep this running and really don’t appreciate the significant amount of abuse we get.}

Ed, should I choose British Gas as my energy supplier? I'm an Aries, if that helps.
{Ed002's Note - Whilst there are some particularly good deals from EDF at the moment, we always recommend an Aires take a close look at what EON are up to with some of their deals. Unless, of course, you are married to a Scorpio when Scottish & Southern will give you a really nifty deal.}

Well said ED 002. personally I fully support your response and in the past have commented that you must have the patience of a saint to put up with some of the whingeing on here. I personally have NO TIME for anyone who isnt trying to help LFC, and bleating about insignificant things as some people do on here just sickens me.
I know it can be hard at times but keep up the brilliant work you all do on here. I for one look forward to your responses and Im sure 99% of the other readerss do too.....onwards and upwards !

Hi Ed..
Y dont we have alook at Defoe...i think he fits the bill.he isnt playing too much for spurs..but he is absolute quality striker..has got pace and..finihsing ability is brilliant? 10 mill will be enough for bringing him..
what you think?? {Ed002's Note - I cannot answer why Liverpool do not look at particular players. At his age I suspect that Liverpool would want to invest that sort of money in a younger second string striker.}

Thats fine..but since we have bellammy at 31..y cant we have defoe..i alwasy liked him..since he scores some special goals...he is prove in EPL..and just the man we need now..with him and suarez..we will have skill, pace and finish upfront...

We don't need to bring in Spurs rejects, will never happen!

pytbull

Wait...dont think..its spurs reject..he is a quality prospect..if thats the condition..then y did we bought a city reject bellamy??...defoe is a great player..he is proven in EPL like darren bent...dont think he is reject...then lets bring in messi...and y are we gonna bring tevez anotheer city reject...or adam johnson..city reject??

Spurs fan, can't see him moving north of watford to be honest, but your more than welcome to him, scores 8 in 3 games then none in 12, think ed1 might well agree with me for once lol

Bellamy's case is different, he was bought as a temporary solution to give our attack a bit of pace & an extra bit of energy which it clearly lacks, keeping in mind we will get a player for long term in the future.
On Defoe,
Why the hell Spurs want to sell him ? Do you want us to get Defoe aged 29 & allow Spurs to get the likes of young quality strikers, Damiao, De Jong, Soldado, Doumbia, Reus, Nilmar. LMFAO.
With the fact that Spurs are challenging us in all fronts I would not take their rejects, which will make our team less stronger than them. We are not QPR, or Aston Villa.
On city rejects, it about the quality we get with respect to FSG's philosophy, Tevez is way better than Defoe, Johnson is among the best wingers in Country.
Messi is welcome even if a Barca reject, the point is once again the quality, City & Barca are top clubs who are now better than us & Little London Club Spurs.

pytbull

Shame PYTBULL is an embarassment to lfc with his uneducated belittling of a famous and glorious club, you have let the good name of your more educated fans down unfortunately. btw defoe a spurs reject? What's johnson then?

ED, regarding possible transfers and move's, it seems you've pretty much got your finger on the pulse but have there been recent moves that you've not been aware of that have went through?

Eds you might not post this but ............... {Ed002's Note - You are right it is not a subject that we wish to discuss. In terms of your question I am not sure why it is dragging out, but equally I am not sure that there will ever be a definitive statement about this matter.}

I've been going to Anfield since 1968. First game versus Leeds. Graduated from the Boys Pen, Kop then the Annie Road.
Over the decades there have always been many occasions when the atmosphere has been flat. In recent times though I believe that there have been several attributable factors causing the flat atmosphere to become more common place.
• The disaffection of local fans by the availability and cost of tickets. This is not a criticism of Reds from outside of Liverpool. I've always been proud of our 'Supporters All Over The World' ethos. But the fact remains that local Reds are being disenfranchised.
• The removal of terracing. The packed terracing of the Kop wasn't a place for grannies with their knitting to take boy scouts for a Saturday afternoon treat or somewhere to spend the rest of the afternoon with your 'partner' (Watch out darling! that Cappuccino could be hot!) after spending the best part of the day shopping around Liverpool One and the Albert Dock . Terracing could never return after the tragedy of Hillsborough, but with the removal of crowd anonymity and the taming of the environment, people's inhibitions are exposed. I believe that the reason these inhibitions are lost at evening/European games is that the unsocial hours attracts a different audience.
• Season ticket holders are guilty of complacency "I've been a season ticket holder since 1980, I've done my fair share of singing over the years and that team is nowhere near our teams of the 70's and 80's etc. etc. If I had my way I'd scrap all of the season tickets and make people re-apply, not On-Line or by post. But by queuing up overnight like we used to for cup tickets. If you want a season ticket you need to really want it! Make finance payments affordable so you don't scare off the working man by extracting half a month's wages off him in one go.
• Finally, regarding the above, I don't have all the answers to questions being asked, but with the development of Anfield or a new stadium provision has got to be made for younger fans (Could you imagine the kids of today being herded into the 'Kids Pen!). Like all parts of our society the youth are our future, Ignore them at your peril for that is where the passion lies.

Can I add that in the league the season ticket holders have held those tickets for a long time, some are a bit older, used to poor football in previous years, etc which often means people just watch the game and wait for something to happen...

In Europe and the Cup games (where I actually get the chance to get a ticket) the atmosphere is noticeably better... those fans are a mix from Ireland, Europe, UK, local and it seems to create a push behind the team.

Spurs, rivals for the fourth spot, these names are taken from the official and various spurs websites & also various magazines, these players have expressed serious interest in wanting to join their club
kaka, seriously close to joining in the summer and still according to reports is keen to still join
Leandro damiao, because of their affiliation and sandro being at the club if he comes to england expect him at white hart lane, he has also trained with the club a few times
Marko marin, despite rumours did NOT turn the club down but had been asked to be kept upto date with clubs ongoing conversations
Erikson, has turned down chelsea and city, according to an overview with him in 442? He told if his love of spurs & would be his club of choice in england.
alassandro del piero, said he would love to play for spurs and in england!!! Its all about the money money money
Iker muniain, love london and I am very impressed with totenham, and would seriously consider an offer if it comes along, me in totenham, why not??
I can't and nor can you say these or some won't
happen? But the point is liverpool need to be spoken
about again in these terms, oscar wilde said it ' the only thing worse than being spoke about, is not being spoke about', should we neglect the age cap to push on?

I don't think the addition of Villa will help Liverpool at all, we already spent 35 million on Carroll, but it would be an amazing striking force with Suarez.

Hey Ed, what do you think about Hoilett being a Liverpool player in January or the Summer and should we make a move for him? Does anyone else agree? Could fix our right side attack problems. Will definately be an excellent player under the right manager. {Ed001's Note - he is a left winger.}

Nevertheless, he has a cranking right foot. Also you didn't answer my question about wether we will move for him or not?

The ed's have discussed this matter over and over. Hoilett is likely to move on in January as he is out of contract in the summer. He is yet to sign any contract extension at Blackburn. Liverpool could be one of the names in the frame in January, but at this time it will only ever be speculation. If i was a betting man, i would say he may move to Tottenham as they apear to show more serious interest in the player "at this point"

Isn't this page called "rumours"?? Seems recently to have changed to "let's ask the ed's stupid questions!"
Seriously, are people going to, at least 1000 times a day, ask something like "Ed, what are the chances of us signing maradona, or audley harrison, or Fatima whitbread?"
Get a grip of yourselves, quite sure the ed's are getting sick of it too!

A recent quote from an LFC supporter's club member:

"Why Liverpool? It's the only football club where the fans stand by the team even if they are losing. There's a quote that if you can't support us when we lose, don't support us when we win. That is Liverpool Football Club. We stick together because we're a family."

Along with all of his mates, he organises his whole weekend around when the match is on, and they get together in a bar to watch it live, no matter what the time.

Oh, and he's a member of the Mumbai LFC supporter's club, btw.
If fans thousands of miles away can stay loyal and positive and passionate, surely those of us in UK and Europe who are lucky enough to be able to get to Anfield can do the same as these guys?

From here in S.A 100% behind the guy, will support and cheer through good and bad, though would prefer the good all the time but that is never gonna happen thats life. Hope they can at least here my cheers from all the way here because it's never is gonna stop!
Mr.Jones

Agree with previous post, I am also a LFC supporter in SA and has been so for the last 20 years. I will support our team in good and bad and I do see "the light in the end of the tunnel" we will come good (hopefully it's not a train coming though). J.R.F RED

We have to sign players from South America continent. Players like Neymar, Ganso, Damiao. And many Lucases, who were undoubted talents. South American continent produces a lot of top quality Players. And, we needed a lot of scouting over there, particulary in youth Games. We had to set-up youth Academies over there, which will bring us a lot of Wonderkids. Is Liverpool had any academies over there?

If damiao does come to england I expect him to join spurs!!, neymar won't be coming and ganso should cause a battle between city and chelsea & isn't one if the many lucas' going to chelsea already?

And i forget sign my post
Indian Red

I'm sure the club are looking in the continenent. A while back were we not looking to link up with Nacional of Uruguay, where Suarez and Coates and most of the Uruguay squad started their careers.
Sure there are lots of players of high quality, but there have been many stories of players not settling, and moving too soon.

Hi Ed, I think that Liverpool need to think for the future now, I don't know how long Stevie G can carry on playing without frequent injuries. Liverpool should look at Hamsik or Erikson.

Think we've been doing that already, which in a way, hasn't helped our cause for now!

game goes on and it seem that liverpool is getting away from cl losing points where we should get that 3 pts like stoke-norwich-swansea.the last game i watch lfc against swansea i feel like switching off the tv.How to get in cl if we can't win these match.(feel like our midfield were sleeping that day no creativity.Downing is losing feet should go further forward.kuyt and caroll shuld come in the second half of a match.Suarez play well with belamy so why to change when they work.we should make 3 major signing this summer striker-RM-CB.

Cannot believe the pessimism and outrage on this site at times, it borderline pathetic. the one thing that gets my goat is the people who disagree when a poster quotes from such a legend, the bedrock and fulcrum in which our team as been built upon, the man? Bill Shankley, just because it doesnt fit in with their ideolgical delusion of how we should be performing. granted a couple of performances havnt been up to standards but progress from last season is glaringly obvious to the educated few amongst us, instant sucess doesnt happen over night, weve got the stability back, watch us gel over the next couple of weeks, no doubt im gonna get many a disagree but quite frankly i couldnt care less. Disagreeing with a shankley quote is borderline sacraligeous in my opinion, i just hope the delusional parasites get off their high horses and come back to reality. "if you cant support us when we lose and draw, then dont support us when we win".
its all a part and parcel of football my fellows, but please get into reality, what we have achieved in 10 months is nothing short of a excellent, just imagine where we will be in another 10 months time

Red Maverick

Fantastic post. We rely on our support as currently silveware is something we havent tasted for a while. This is what makes Liverpool unique to any other club, the fans singing and getting behind their team. Unfortunately what i been wittnessing in the pubs, on web pages, in the city and also at the ground is quite sad and for the heavans of me hope we dont loose the passion. Please please please i urge the fans to get behind the team and kenny.

I say we unleash Downing against Chelsea. He'll be out there on the pitch against Mata, whom he's been compared to ever since he joined us. I'm sure he'd want to silence his critics. This might as well be the sort of inspiration he's needed lately.
Furqan.

He has been "unleashed" before, look what happened there.

Unleashed! So funny.

Downing is not even half the player mata is. I bet even downing himself knows it.

hey ed001, by january if we are not suffering any injuries what positions are kk looking to improve? or does he think we will be fine where we are (if there are no injuries)

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - He will look to replace anyone leaving and probably a right sided striker.}

Ah, meaning striker able to play on the right wing as well like kuyt or just a right sided striker? thanks ed!

Kaizer {Ed002's Note - Like Luuk De Jong, who is I guess being seen as an eventual replacement for Kuyt.}

Hi Eds.
Please indulge me a liitle.
Our transfer policy has been to sign younger British players.
If this is the policy, who do you believe fits the bill?.
Regards Shankly's Red Army. {Ed002's Note - Like Enrique, Suarez and Coates?}

Ha,ha, well answered ED 02. In your view who would be likely British players?.
Regards Shankly's Red Army. {Ed002's Note - I am by no means sure that players are being chosen by nationality. Also, the fans seem to be expectying as much movement as there was in teh summer and I don't see more than a couple of players arriving.}

I totally agree ED02, I think there may be a few "loan" options rather than purchases. The situation would then be reviewed at seasons end. To splash out on a host of new players in Jan would be a bit unrealistic and very expensive (as it is a period dominated more by 'panic buys' and inflated prices).
A few good players on loan would help strengthen any areas!.
Thank you for your insight and information, take care and best regards, Shankly's Red Army.

I would take Carlos Tevez on loan if it would get us in the Champions League for next season, i absolutely hate the bloke but he scores goals and thats what we need, if City paid at least half his wages of course, i think Suarez and Tevez up front would be unreal... What do people think?

Rocky

Alexandre Pato could be a good purchase, quality player but has a thigh injury at the moment, if we include Aquilani as part of a deal we could get a good deal... Christian Eriksen would be a good addition aswell

Disagree. I think Tevez looks fat and out of sorts. I think he gave up on this season before it started, and is unlikely to kick start a new career in England.

So let me get this straight you think tavez will change rainy manchester for sun kissed liverpool HELLO.

Rocky, sorry mate but maybe youve had too many fights, its starting to affect your logic...Tevez is not LFC material and this club does not sell its soul for short term gains. We are Liverpool and we will do things in the honorouble way by building for the future...5, 10 years hence not tomorrow

Commoli and JW Henry spotted having dinner in piccolinos on Friday night, would seem reasonable that they could be discussing january targets and direction of the club?
-----------------------------------------
Or maybe they were just ordering, 2 plates of bangers and mash and 2 diet cokes (since Coca Cola are sponsering, our stadium).

Blair Mayne YNWA JFT96

No thats what you would order in a italian restaurant FOOL.

That's probably what they were told by the waiter when they ordered, so they settled for a 12" pepperoni and two cans of coke to go. Rumour has it Commoli had rented smackdown vs raw for his xbox.
