Its time to organise and make the fans feelings felt via twitter. we are not idiots who can be fooled, wwe have decades of performances to compare this with.
Putting on a DM when we should be going all out for 3 points has finished Roy in my personal opinion. It shows a lack of guts and ambition that is frightening.
How NESV let Pellegrini go I will never know.
Bringing Poulsen on for Kuyt should tell all you LFC fans that he has to go. Now.
We will NEVER win a premiership with him. We may get 5th, or even 4th if City let us in- and I doubt that- but we will NEVER win. We don't even have the hope, because Roy doesn't have it himself!
Any manager who does that kind of substitution is not of a winning mentality. NESV, are you reading? Do you want LFC to win the premiership?
Are you fools?

10 Nov 2010 23:45:07

Roy is grateful for the point that we GAINED tonight! - ssn

This statement just shows Roy's ambition for LFC in a nutshell. He id clearly still in the "Fulham Way" mentality if he is accepting that a point tonight is good enough for LFC. Roy clearly has not got the right kind of ambitions for LFC that we need to take us forward. Please sack him before all our stars get restless - we are not a happy camp at the moment behind the scenes and it will only get worse if Roy stays.

10 Nov 2010 23:38:13

Editor, what do you think about the substitution Roy made in the 60th or 70th minute? At 1-1 he took off Kuyt and put Poulsen on, instead of N'gog. {ed's note - I just think it was the move of a man looking to avoid defeat, we need a man who looks to win.}

10 Nov 2010 23:32:11

Absolutely shocking display from us tonight, we were actually outplayed and out-passed by Wigan. . shameful

10 Nov 2010 23:25:14

If he wants to defend ok but as the saying goes

THE BEST FORM OF DEFENCE IS ATTACK

get roy to understand that

Kelly was okay. got taken to the cleaners by Moses towards end though and did not have good understanding with shelvey in second half. dirks engine room

10 Nov 2010 23:18:17

Roy Hodgson on drawing with Wigan

"We were tired and didn't pass the ball well. But in the end i think it was a good point considering how well Wigan played"

Roberto Martinez on drawing with LFC

"I think it was 2 points dropped"

(speechless) Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. Well said Roberto!

10 Nov 2010 23:18:13
And some of us thought the remaining league games between now and the end of the year were all winnable .

If only Roy Hodgson felt the same , he spoke about the match prior to the game lamenting the fact that away results for the club for the club this year have been poor , if anything the players lived up to that .

It was poor form on his part , we should have been far too strong and confident for Wigan AFC .

10 Nov 2010 23:13:56

This is what Hodgson said about the Mireless substitution (who i thought was doing ok)

He was sick. I don't know how long it will take for him to recover. He felt ill just before the game in the warm up. He wanted to play and got through the first half but at half-time he was sick again, so there was no option."

IF he was sick then why play him at all IDIOT? Especially when like you said Roy "Some players were tired"

Liverpool fans are still waiting to hear why Poulsen was let near the stadium, never mind brought on for Kuyt!

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. Someone start a petition please!

10 Nov 2010 23:12:46
LFC could have been 5th in the league and looking up with a point to spare and more points to spare over some of the other teams below .

Yet the team is still 9th in the league with a minus goal difference . The amount of goals the LFC team has conceded this season is a disgrace .

For a negative team the defence is awful .

As much as the guy ent gotta clue, i dnt fink he was he sayin we shud b more thn hppy wiv a point uva thn the fact we plyd so s* t n didn't lose.thts wat he ment , doubt hed a sed it b4 the game.

10 Nov 2010 23:02:56

I'm watching Lfc.tv and they have a poll asking were we will finish?. At the momment 48% of callers think we will finish in the top 4. Roy's mobile telephone bill must be sky high!

I've never seen us play worse football. I was unfortunate to see us play under Souness and thought that was bad. This is dire!

ED have you seen worse?

Blair Mayne YNWA

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

aha sorry blair but that can't be roy he doesn't think we have a chance of top 4 that man wouldn't even guarantee top 8 at this rate he would probs say avoiding relegation was a fantastic achievement

However, the home side recovered to level through Hugo Rodallega, leaving the boss frustrated by his team's second-half showing.

"We didn't deserve to win the game, " he told his post-match press conference.

"We looked tired today and I don't think our passing was anywhere near as good as we expected it to be. We had a bright start and a bright finish but for a long period in between we weren't anywhere near where I would expect us to be. I think we can be more than happy with the point we got from the game."

Went to the DW tonight and have to say it was a poor performance. Only Reina, Carra and Skrtel came out with any credit. Konchesky (and I supported his signing) was especially dire.

We scored and then sat back, two banks of four, with no width and no attacking pace. Kuyt, Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, and Torres all looked very jaded.

But most worringly, they didn't seem to care. There was little direction from the bench and we may as well have packed up and gone home when Poulson came on.

Can Hodgson get the best out of the players? Again the answer is "No".

Dirks Engine Room {ed's note - didn't you think Kelly played well then?}

10 Nov 2010 22:56:21
It seems clear Roy Hodgson only wants to draw an away game and try to win the home games in a similar way .

The bare minimum to keep his job at mediocre clubs .

10 Nov 2010 22:52:22
Roy needs to go, a draw is not acceptable against wigan how can poulson ever get on the pitch for kuyt?? why bring on shelvey and play him out of position torres needs help with a another class stricker ASAP, we needed to go and attack wigan in second half but once again we sat back and were put under presure and the subs roy made were mind boggling?? ??
I just don't get Roy! !? ?? ?

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. F*ck off Roy! {ed's note - I think the Souness era was worse, but at least you could see the team were going out trying to win.}

10 Nov 2010 22:47:40

The difference between roys negative tactics and rafas is, rafa killed the game by tryin to keep possesion in midfield an not do much with it and roy gets every outfield player to play in his own half

10 Nov 2010 22:45:55
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has admitted Pepe Reina is free to leave the club at the end of the season if he wishes. THIS IS WHAT I FOUND ON A WEBSITE CALLED GIVE ME FOOTBALL . HE DOESANT CARE ABOUT LFC AT ALL OR THE FANS , AND SURLY NESV WANTS 2 KEEP THE BEST PLAYERS THIS I HOPE WILL NOT GO DOWN WELL FUK OF ROY U PRICK

10 Nov 2010 22:42:43

Hi ed could you post my comment about the next 7 games on the rumours page?want to see how many people agree.thanks {ed's note - which one mate? Sorry there are a lot of posts - probably easier to repost it and I will put it there.}

10 Nov 2010 22:42:34

Just on my way home from game. Sorry to say AGAIN Roy was terrible 25 30 mins in and he wAs telling them to defend. 1 point is good for Roy. WELL f*ch off and get ye points for fulhams and blackburns

10 Nov 2010 22:38:41
When asked straight after the Chelsea match what did u think of your performance today Fernando, Torres replied Wigan is now the priority we must Concentrate and be prepared and beat Wigan.
72hrs later we r back to playing like a bottom 3 team who let's be honest here deserved to lose.
What must Fernando be thinking he has accepted criticism for the way he has been playing but in the last three games he has had one assist and 3 goals so he has raised his game when needed and not once has he praised himself.
It's not rocket science to work out that there's something very wrong at Liverpool at the moment, Reina is saying all the wrong things of late other senior players have faces like a sore arse.
ROY is like Hicks and Gillet a walking cancer that is now eating away at our great club, it's time we acted and removed this mild mannered knob head with imediate effect before Torres and Co are gone! !

Rant over

10 Nov 2010 22:37:56
Every player was misplacing their passes , being beaten to the ball , outfought in possesion and lacking passion .

To win the league the LFC first team needs a major overhaul , some of those players that started tonight should be substitutes at best .

I hoped we were turning the season around , I guess now we just wait until saturday to see what Roy Hodgson turns out then .

What we should do is twitter j henry i have and the longer he stays our best players and youth will leave , i say get a manager in now b4 its to late , so the new manager can at least have 1 month and a few weeks with the players to convince them 2 stay . FUUK OFF ROY

These are the tactics that have served roy so well for the past 35 years , yes we had just swept newcastle aside in the most one sided of fa cup finals and roy is tryin to preach these methods he started out with back then in the year 2010.ive seen one decent half of football from us this season first half v blackburn the man is out of his depth we are shambolic under him and going backwards with every passing week god help us if he is still here in jan.we are not fulham , copenhagen or malmo or whatever other second rate team he has managed we are liverpool and we should be going out to play football and beat teams by as many goals as we can not contain an try to nick one and hold onto it iam sick of it .sorry for the long post ed but the mans a nugget and needs to go

What ever happened to the liverpool way? For all you negative hypocrite fans who only ever moan when we get a draw or loss but never comment when we get a win what happened to supporting the manager?? but then i expect you were the lot calling for Rafas head last season, maybe its just easier for you all to go and support man city and jump on that band wagon!

And ED how do you know its 'fraught' behind the scenes? Or is that just another rumour as you obviously won't be able to divulge your 'sources'!

But then again i doubt this will even be posted!

Are you an idiot? can you not see what is happening? if we don't change this soon we could be in deep deep trouble , if your a so called loyal liverpool fan you would know what is best for the club and that's to get rid of roy and his negative tactics! and as the ed says it aint rocket science to know that some of the players are unhappy with roy.

Shocking comments from so called liverpool fans {ed's note - ask anyone who plays for the club or anyone related to someone who plays for the club or is friends with someone who plays for the club. It is common knowledge that Roy and Sammy Lee are not working out, either get rid of all the players or changing the coaching staff, your choice.}

it is being too patient and nice and the best supporters in football that has got us into this mess in the first place we are shooting our selves in the foot i for 1 did call for rafas head and now im caling for roys and i defy anyone to call me a bad fan for that when i have the clubs best interests at heart roy is not good enough and that's that we can either support him and progressivly get worse because our best players won't stick around and new ones will be in the poulson mould or we can do something and encourage the owners to get a decent manager to take us forward. the manager is not the club, therefore an attack on the manager is not an attack on the club and not supporting the manager does not mean you are not supporting the club sorry rant over

Has n e 1 seen roy hodgson on fifa ultimate team hes rated as 88 and rare.i think ea was taking the piss there

10 Nov 2010 22:26:52
As a previous post stated some of the players were tired and kuyt was returning from injury.so why not rest a few players.the game against wigan and now stoke are must wins.roy should of switched to a 433 and played:
reina
kelly
carragher
skrtel
konchesky
gerrard
shelvey
lucas
jovanovic
torres
babel
set out as 433 and if its not working drop babel n jovanovic back.those 3 posess pace which if im not mistaken defenders hate.plus they are fresher than the rest.liverpool tonight were like the ai on fifa set to amateur.

Oh i do. but if we can take anything from such awful football. which it was. tactics such as those displayed tonight should at least have alarm bells ringing at NESV.

I mean the man surely has to go soon. this is worse than torture. I really don't want to see his press conference because it will be something along the lines of
"we played a really well organised team"
"our players were tired after the exertions at chelsea"
"I think we have to feel happy with a point "
"we have shown that we can dig in and grind out a point against a very difficult team"

chris 1

ps all those hodgson defenders disapearing at a rapid rate of knots

10 Nov 2010 22:23:41

Apparently the new owners are looking to listen to the fans and players so if us fans make enough noise what do we think the chances are of them listening and getting rid of roy i would rather sack him now and make king kenny care taker manager untill we find a suitable replacement. can it really get any worse honestly atleast kenny wouldn't play out a draw and make that look hard against f*cking wigan what a joke

Heres our next 7 games.stoke[a] west ham[h] spurs[a] villa[h] n'castle[a] fulham[h] b'pool[a].how many points can we realistically get from these games considering our terrible away form ed?i reckon it could be as little as 10 pts.that would put us on 26pts at the half way stage of the season.would love to hear what everyones opinion on this would is.thanks {ed's note - I don't even want to think about it, we could be in serious trouble playing for a draw every game.}

10 Nov 2010 22:19:32

After all the uncertainty over who was going to own the club and all the legal wrangle, we've finally become debt free with a chance of a fresh start.Yet we persevere with a defensive manager who , if not careful will drag this club even further down the table.I fear once a player decides to go more will follow.The owners need to take some serious advice, quickly.

10 Nov 2010 22:17:46

EUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHH I HATE HODGSON get that ugly tit out. the boring git has no idea it has NOTHING to do with the squad its just roys awful. play 3 strikrs if you have to well don't kelly btw! and torres is playing well again but PLAY MORE STRIKERS like blooming west ham do i'd rather concede 3 but score 6 than draw ONE ONE TO WIGAN OH MY GOD BETTER put it right against stoke or ill personally do something ill regret next time roys at anfield.

10 Nov 2010 22:15:43
The only urgency in the side seems to be shared between Torres & Gerrard . If an opposing team played like that 'against' LFC we would be demanding a victory of 3-0 or 4-0 .

Quite what Gerrard was doing before Wigan moved the ball wide , crossed and then scored . He was actually walking opposite the WIgan midfielder determined 'not' to put a challenge in .

Typical of the team today . Of course Roy Hodgson will say the unbeaten record is still intact .

His poor results smack of the Souness era .

Im watching 'This is anfield' on 'lfc tv' and a caller said he would take 7 out 9 points against wigan, westham and stoke.
what the f*ck is wrong with him it should be 9 out of 9, END OF! !
we are f*cking liverpool not fulham
ed do u agree?

harry5:) {ed's note - fully mate, anything less should be a disappointment!}

10 Nov 2010 22:11:43
I don't think im speaking for myself when I say that this goes way back, way before roy. Its been 10 years now. 10 years of awful football under rafa and houllier. In comes roy and we start dreaming of 442 roy evans style football. But what does roy do? Play a 1-0-10 formation. ULTRA NEGATIVE FOOTBALL. Im sure we're all tired of this now. We are lfc and the (shankly, paisley, dalglish, fagan)teams that won the league. uhm 12 times i think and the euro cup 4 times wouldn't be caught dead playing the way we do now. Not a knee-jerk reaction as many would call it, its been coming more than10 years now.
Red bl00ded!

10 Nov 2010 22:11:01

Sorry to post again but i really would like some views on my earlier post were i banged on about movement into space and hodgson oozing negativity, right now i know people always say this but i honestly think i could do a better job atleast i would be passionate and recognise a draw as bad we go 1-1 playing sh*t i bring on strikers and tell em to f*cking go for it not bring off striker and put the worst player in prem on he has not got a clue and is treating liverpool like fulham someone please twiter owner

10 Nov 2010 22:11:00

Shelvey, Eccleston

This is no criticism on the players but to my mind the only reason he (Roy) selected them because the owners told him he should bring youth through, so he is randomly picking them (english only for some reason) and sticking them anywhere .

{ed's note - Shelvey is a central midfielder, Roy is misusing his talents badly.}
I understand he was played in the wrong place, but still he was terrible, I am not judging him on one game I've seen enough of him to know he is a decent player, but this evening he misplaced every pass (even the < 6 yards passes) and could not keep the ball.
Roy {ed's note - I was just pointing it out before people dismiss his talents.}

10 Nov 2010 22:09:40

There is no difference between Rafa & Roy, they both set up there teams not to lose. This is not ther liverpool way, the fans & the players are fed up.
Lets face it, we were n't that good against chelsea, other than 2 well taken goals against them, we didn't do anything. Remember they had 65% of the ball, how often has that happened in the past.

10 Nov 2010 22:09:36

Get this ass lickin mr nice guy t* t out now! he has not got a clue by the way what the f*ck has he ever won swedish leagues and cups! just f*ck off and get back 2 what ur good at kissing fergies arse u f*ckin liberace lookin t* t!

10 Nov 2010 22:08:33

I personally think Roy is sh*t as a manager same old fulham style. His substitution were s* t come on what the F* k we should have got 3 points. I dnt understand this we need new manager and that's it.

10 Nov 2010 22:08:27

NESV SACK ROY he is no good and clueless, everytime the cameraa on him i just scream , his body language shows he has not got a clue what 2 do , my point poulsen on 4 kuyt lol is he having a laugh , i reckon hes in on it with fergie so fergie can have lfc best players , i mean it will b the only time utd and lfc will do buisness because when he was with fulham roys words were u can't say no 2 fergie when he wants a player . an angry red fan

10 Nov 2010 22:07:08
To all you sad Roy lovers, did you see Torres shaking his head when he left the field it said it all he's had enough of this hit and miss shambles of a team Roy has assembled.
Good luck fernando at barca next season u deserve better
f*ck off Roy now please

10 Nov 2010 22:05:04

Feel sorry on jonjo shelvey, waste of talent playing him on the right, he was bought as a centre midfielder roy you tw*t so play him there or don't use him, well done martin kelly tonight by the way, apart from him, gerrard and torres we looked like a championship side! hard times. .

10 Nov 2010 22:03:50

Oh dear oh dear oh dear, i must admit that after the last 18 months i was fairly happy about hodgson appointment . We had a bad start but i thought we need to back him give him time, like many at our worrst against northampton and blackpool i thought that's it out you go , i know its not the liverpool way but your ruining this great club's name. After the last four results especially sunday , maybe some humble pie should be ordered, i know nothing and he is a competent manager, but tonight was an attrocious result , awful tactics even worse substitutions. You need to build on a result like sunday not squander it, not hopeful for sunday and as long as he stays we better get used to midtable mediocrity and the decent players we have leaving,
NESV GET RID OF HIM NOW

YNWA RED FOREVER the britvickid

10 Nov 2010 22:02:42

Roy Hodgson has to go. 72 minutes gone and he replaces Kuyt with Poulsen, settling for a draw in a game we should be expected to win. The man hasn't got a clue, he is a mid table manager at best.

10 Nov 2010 22:02:28

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. Can anyone tell me what formation we were playing? ED any idea mate? {ed's note - I think that is known as a 6-4-0 mate.}

Or maybe the Craig Levein (Scotland) formation mate 4-6-0?

Blair Mayne YNWA {ed's note - I don't think we ever got 6 players far enough forward to be counted as midfielders!}

10 Nov 2010 22:00:54

A complete novice on football manager could set a team up better than that. totally awful. NESV roy is the old dead wood we are talking about. skrtel, konchesky, babel, jovaonovic, poulsen, maxi can join him in his next side where playing for a draw at wigan is good enough. ynwa agree ed? {ed's note - fully agree mate, either he goes or we lose our top players and replace them with more Poulsens and Koncheskys.}

10 Nov 2010 21:59:39

How crap are we the min. roy what is he at this can't go on we are in danger of becoming a has been. so negative .hard time to be liverpool fan

10 Nov 2010 21:59:19
I really don't think i need to say anything. I am now going to lay down in a dark room and think happy thoughts.

poulsen for kuyt. the man is insane! !

I defy anyone. and i mean anyone to defend this bloke now.

chris 1

10 Nov 2010 21:58:12

Meireles - gave the ball away so much!
kuyt- dreadful.
shelvey- people saying he's better than wilshere but based on that performance, he's nowhere near.
Konchesky- so average.
carra- his dreadful hoofs upfield just added to the pressure wigan were already putting on us.

only shining light in that performance was the fact that kelly was solid defensively

ed? {ed's note - hard to judge Shelvey mate, he is an attack minded central midfielder, Roy is making a mess of things.}

10 Nov 2010 21:56:18

Blair Mayne :
I think you should ask all those Roy lovers that had a go at you a couple of days ago what did they think of tonight performance and result.
Probably like Roy they think a point against wigan is a good result .
And its not just the result, its the way we play, just like sunday we camped in our half and invited pressure after pressure, and even after they scored we did nt change .

To start with where was Konchesky when they equalised? he was no where in the camera frame?

And can some one explain why on earth Poulsen comes in for Kuyt, when on the bench you have Jovanovic who could have done a better job than Shevely on the right, or behind / or next to Torres and kept Gerrard where he was . .

Ed: Shelvey had a very very bad game.On the other hand, I would think Johnson is not getting his place back, Kelly have made it his own.
Roy {ed's note - Shelvey is a central midfielder, Roy is misusing his talents badly.}

10 Nov 2010 21:55:43

Im really getting sick of these performances.
to be outclassed by a team like wigan, no disrespect, is a travisty for a club like ours. .
and taking kuyt off for poulsen? ha
hodgsons head is gone. its like when rafa took torres off against brum last year and we wanted a win. nesv really need 2 it down and decide what there ging to do with the manager and squad, sooner rather than later. .i expected 2 or3 more goals after the way we started.
but as soon as we go ahead, hodgson has us defending deep , makes no sense,
we need a manager who will urge us forward to get the win, and we need the players who can do it.

im not going to panic, we didn't lose the game but
shud be winning them. .
what u think ed? {ed's note - games like that you have to win, either that or end the season in mid-table mediocrity.}

10 Nov 2010 21:54:58

Liverpool rumours, im gona be calm about this message, rite im a little disapointed about the game so far, scratch that im f*cking livid how f*cking long are we going to see s* t football s* t tactics and far to many s* t players in our team i want to go to melwood ask the players and manager do they even care about this club apart from the local players and sammey, but its true they should be f*cking privileged to play for a club like liverpool and pull there fingers nesv say roy didn build the current squad and looking at some of his signing i hope he don't get a chance to build one here, dose he not realise he might be fit to sign average player for fulham and get away wiv it but not here we want quality not this s* te ie- poulsen konchesky and a few more he f*cking knew we needed a centre forward but no roy doesn't buy 1 why? Beats me, we need something done or changed now and nesv need to splash the f*cking cash there is 18 of them and all have hundreds of millions if not billions they bought the club wiv there loose change and no 1 seems to know wats going on, we talk of signing like cole or shawcross these players are not good enough for our reserves let alone the first team roy says we should be looking for player quality real madrid barca and inter are chasing my ass not wiv him in charge he is not going to make us great again id nearly rather see roy evans back than roy hodgson in charge if we draw this game to night its a good result according to roy its a f*cking s* te result roy get that into you head anything other than a win is a s* te result i know you can't win them all but don't come out and say a draw is a good result you might of got away with that at fulham but not at liverpool football club grow a set roy and don't drag us down leave and leave now, sorry ed if this dragged on just pist wiv all this crap. Dessie lfc for ever.

10 Nov 2010 21:54:50

Roy might as well not bother playing midfielders or defenders . . . might as well play 6 goalies and 5 forwards and just long ball it all the time, that line up should work better that ROYs, least the strikers would get support !

Go now please Roy, before your reputation gets more tarnished (if it can).

10 Nov 2010 21:53:51

Now I am convined I could be the manager of LFC. I've been a red from 12 yrs and these are our darkest days. Where the hell did Hodgson come from? At a time when we are trying to put a string of wins together, these are the changes he came up with?
Where are the people who were asking to sack Rafa?
idiots

10 Nov 2010 21:53:31

Hes played same team for last 5 games nearly, , today being midweek jus played a tough game v chelsea, , , roy shoulda changed it a little put some of the tired ones on the bench, , like maxi, merieles, kuyt he jus came back from injury u don't play him 2 games in 3 days, , plus wigan been watching how we play for last 5 games shoulda so was predictable of how roy was gunna set up again, , ,

10 Nov 2010 21:52:32

How do we get message to nesv that this is not the football liverpool fans expect? and that we want a manager with a clue??

10 Nov 2010 21:51:45

This is getting beyond a joke now, what is roy playing at bringing poulsen on for kuyt, why doesn't he try ngog up top with torres aswell until january, im sick of the negativity within roys team selections week in week out!

ynwa10

10 Nov 2010 21:50:20

Back to our old selves again tonight, wigan deserved to win the game.poulson is a disaster, and only for torres, and gerrard we'd have lost.what happened to the form from the weekend against chelsea ed?stoke next and prob more of the same.hopefully that will be the final nail in the coffin for woy.players don't look happy with the negitive tactics {ed's note - this time the players were listening to Roy's constant shouts at them to get back. At the weekend they just went for it in the first half.}

10 Nov 2010 21:49:54

Roy has to go NOW! I can't bear to listen to him and the final nail in the coffin is bringing grandad poulsen on when we need a goal!
How is he going to attract big name or young and exciting players to this club?
Where is Pacheco roy? What has he done wrong?
Ed} Will this result really put the pressure on roy and do you think he will be sacked soon? {ed's note - Roy doesn't think Pacheco is up to it mate, it is that simple. The pressure has to be on him, that was an awful performance and a terrible result.}

10 Nov 2010 21:49:51

I was willing to give Roy a chance but the substitution of Poulsen for Kuyt in the dying stages has flipped this thought right on it's head. When we need a goal, send on someone who understand the goal is ahead of them, not behind them. When will Roy learn. .

CumbrianScouse

10 Nov 2010 21:49:29

Same old story, all the hard work down the pan. like torres said we do well against the top teams but we need to be better against the middle teams. well wigan aint a middle team they are a bottom team. they tore us a new one, embarrasing! woy, what are you doing? poulsen for kuyt, its a disgrace, get him out now! ed plse tell me you have some news about woy going? {ed's note - I haven't been told anything else since I was told NESV were looking for a replacement. The club has been shut down in terms of leaks unfortunately, but I can't see that performance doing anything other than making sure they hurry up and find a new manager.}

10 Nov 2010 21:49:02

This is to all the people having a go at me, ed, Roy, Chris 1 etc for having a go at Hodgson. Hang your head in shame after the sh*t i had to take. Just because i said i wasnt getting carried away with our 1st half performance against Chelski.

The only one who had the swingers to sign their post was Redeyedhector. For the rest of you who didn't sign your posts when crucifying me about my comments about Hodgson you are COWARDS!

We told you Roy was no good but would you listen? Hopefully you can see what we see and that is Roy just isn't good enough to be an LFC manager.

Blair Mayne YNWA

PS. Can anyone tell me what formation we were playing? ED any idea mate? {ed's note - I think that is known as a 6-4-0 mate.}

10 Nov 2010 21:49:02

Awful! if roy comes out in the post match press conference and says that it was a hard fought point against a strong wigan team he should be fired. useless tactics, no pressure, no intent.

10 Nov 2010 21:49:00

No better way to waste our points gained against Chelsea than to draw at Wigan. Congrats lads for the laziest performance I've seen in years (Y).

10 Nov 2010 21:47:54

Wel that was back to normal liverpool, hodgson needs to go he is way way way out of his depth, negative interviews negative teams just oozes negativity when will liverpool get a good manager who can implement an attractive attacking style of play. just saw bits of the game on a live stream and wigan looked like they battered us, ran us off the park completely and our defence sh*t them self cuz wigan players actually ran with the ball at us, their movement was better on and off the ball we were luky to get away with 1-1 i think. master hodgson has years of experience and knowlege and yet he can't teach a team how to move off the ball into space to provide a pass or drag opposition players out of position making more space or have i got it wrong and you should just lump the ball forward from defence or pass it around in your own half because of no forward movement in to space and give the ball away. any thoughts on that please let me know if im wrong and hodgson is right

10 Nov 2010 21:47:01

Hodgson out. .wtf is he doing. that was one of the single worst performances in living memory. .kuyt subbed for poulsen, that says he is happy with a draw to wigan, no ambition whatsoever
poulsen out
skrtel out
konchesky out
maxi out
NESV save our reds
keisuke honda in
n'zogbia showed more than any of our wide players or mata
give pacheco a chance
afellay in
and anystriker whose name isn't carlton cole

10 Nov 2010 21:46:21

Yea where are all you Roy fans now?
tactics looked like we were playing with 10 men.
This is ludicrous, like i said against the Chelsea,
Playing a cm at rm doen't work, especially subing
on a cm to rm for a previous cm that was at rm.
Roy has to go, seriously! We play soo defensive then
hope we catch some lucky break/ superficial miracle on the counter attack! Both Chelsea goals were counter attack goals that were superficial miracles from Torres and Kuyt's God given talents. . The fact that Poulsen came on disgusts me.

10 Nov 2010 21:45:39

Omg roy must go. We played so defensive it is unbelieveable. Roy makes the worst subs ever. Poulson when we need a goal? I'm sorry but this is f*cking annoying. We do well at home then away we go all out draw. And before you say that we change our minds so quickly (was praising him after chelsea), but i still wanted him to leave. Shocking performance. He's a disgrace to liverpool. I would rather go all out attack with a attacking manager. We were getting out played by Wigan? I say bring roberto martinez as next manager. Young, plays good football and knows his stuff. I still cannot believe we used poulson. .AHHHHHHHHHHH. I'm praying that nesv were looking for an excuse to sack roy and now this is one (but he'll stay for now). Anything to add ed. {ed's note - nope, I think you have summed it up, apart from going for Martinez, not sure on that one!}

10 Nov 2010 21:45:30

Roy should have switched to a 433 and gambled we needed a goal this feels like a loss. we need to keep foot on the pedal for 90 min not 7

10 Nov 2010 21:45:22

Just watched the Wigan game and it had to be one of the worst perfomances I have seen in a long time, we made Wigan look like Barcalona, couldnt get anywhere near them, sat far to deep , no pressure on the ball and could not string 3 passes together. All the hard work against chelsea just wasted. Awful

Billyred

10 Nov 2010 21:44:19

Oh well here we go again , looks like the chelsea result WAS a flukey 1 off.play a s* t team n cnt get out of our own half 4 most of the game

10 Nov 2010 21:44:10

Oh my god! Go away Roy!

10 Nov 2010 21:44:07

I can imagine roys interview

wigan are a great team the play fantastic football

we played a excellent game

poulson was mom

bla bla bla bla

unbelievable unexceptable to have liverpool defending for nearly 80 mins of a football match and to invite the team on if we had pace ok counter attack but the players he bought in the summer prickson and konnotrunchesky we can't play that

to take of kuyt and put on prickson is really unexceptable for a liverpool manager to do that should be guarranted win

i havent judged roy until now but really the second half at home to chelsea we sat deep and invited them on now go 1-0 up and then decided to defend for the rest of the time

he is not the man to take us forward

sorry for the rant but i am just confused and angry

10 Nov 2010 21:44:04

I am one of those who didn't get carried away by the performance at Chelsea, and I gutted to see myfear of another defensive display proved right.
I think the players maybe let Roy down a bit, but one single act shouts louder than any other in the whole game.
Bringing a DM on as sub for a forward player.
That says everything about what Roys hopes were for the game.
He cannot seem to break out of the trap of expecting results for a mid table team.
In our place there, Man U or Chelsea would NEVER have made that kind of substitution. It was basically giving up on winning the game, and what signal must it have sent to the players- of both teams?
Gutted.

10 Nov 2010 21:43:57

ED Please put this up

Its time for all the lfc fans to make our voice's heard again. At our next home game we need to let the new owners know how unhappy we are with that Idiot runing the team, I'm watching tonight's game and apart from the goal we scored we look very poor at best, even before the game roy said in our next 2 games it very important to not lose WTF is this guy on, what he should be saying is in our next 2 games we have to get 6 points end off

10 Nov 2010 21:43:51

Another great result! !

10 Nov 2010 21:43:34

Pathetic performance wigan should have polished us off. Any half decent side would have. We need to get rid of konchesky(Hopeless defender no pace and no tactical awareness. Give mavinga a chance roy you idiot) , Poulsen(dont need to explain) , Ngog(Out on loan not good enough at the minute) , Babel(like the lad but no point in wasting him in the reserves) .PS Carra can't cut it at this level anymore way too slow . Bring in Honda, Turan and llorente then we will be half decent. What ya think ed? Agree or disagree?
Johnjo {ed's note - I don't think it matters who we have if they are being led by Roy, they will always be too defensive.}

10 Nov 2010 21:43:27
Im sorry but i have to say that roy hodgson is the worst top 4 manager ive ever seen. Poulsen has to be the worst player to ever play in the prem yet we bring him on for our centre forward dirk. Wtf. . Ngog. .poulsen. .jova. .poulsen. . Oh i know! Poulsen will do a gerrard and score a hat trick! So lets go with poulsen! I love my team and il support roy as long as he's here, but he's got to go ASAP. Your thoughts on the game ed?
Red bl00ded! {ed's note - awful mate, even worse following on from the first half at the weekend.}

10 Nov 2010 21:43:25

Useless why he is bringing on shelvey POULSEN! and Eccleston when we have Ngog and Jovanovic!

Same old liverpool great victory against Chelsea then DRAW against wigan!

10 Nov 2010 21:43:22

Hodgson will be absolutely delighted with this point at the mighty Wigan. His masterstroke of bringing Poulsen on for Kuuyt ensured that we drew after we almost blew it by taking an early lead. . .phew!

A point at Stoke on Saturday will return us to the comfort of mediocrity which Hodgson feels happier with.

Anfieldpete

10 Nov 2010 21:43:07

This is absolutely ridiculous. Roy puts in Poulsen in place of Kuyt. He chooses to play defensively when were about to draw with Wigan. And then he plays Eccleston. No offence to the lad, im sure he's going to be great one day, but I would have subbed in Ngog. I have no clue what Roy thinks he's doing, and at this point don't care. He has killed the momentum we were building up. He needs to go and we need to bring in someone with attacking mentality. What do you think ed? {ed's note - he is not the answer, he will never bring the league title home.}

10 Nov 2010 21:43:05

Roy has to go!
Apart from 1 good half against Chelsea, the rest of the performances have been poor and too defensive!

If we had no torres or gerrard, we would have had 3 points from the last 4 games instead of 10 plus been struggling in Europe!

Substitutions tonight bizarre

Ed, what you think about our performances and Roy? {ed's note - awful, he can't keep playing for a draw and expecting the fans to accept it.}

10 Nov 2010 21:42:04

In a must win game which is being drawn, Roy takes off a striker and puts on a s* te defensive midfielder. WTF. . .

Says it all really, outplayed by Wigan. I rest my case. . Bye Roy.

10 Nov 2010 21:42:04

Sorry Roy, we can't keep getting outplayed by teams like Wigan, your team set up is ridiculous, 1 up and we sit everyone behind the ball . . . Why? ? we should be going for the throat and ensuring a win.

When we attack teams we play good football, perhaps Roy likes long ball to no one.

This must surely be the tombstone being put over the end of Roy Hodgson as LFC manager - no passion, no desire, no right to follow Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Daglish - Roy time for you to walk alone. .

What a difference a couple of days make, Blair was hammered for posting about the second half performance, and I suppose you could argue that Chelsea are good team and hard to dominate, but surely there can be no excuse for this, Wigan have the worst scoring record this year but were making them look like Barcelona.

10 Nov 2010 21:19:02
This will be for me the substitution that encapsulates the sad reign of Roy Hodgson at Liverpool FC - bringing of a centre forward for a failed midfielder - no desire to win - shocking and disgraceful.

Poulsen on for Kuyt - hang your head in shame Roy Hodgson and don't come back to Melwood in the morning, P45 in the post. .

Get a grip and play with real intent - a win tonight will probably take us 6th instead Roy seems happy with mid-table rubbish. Really does not convince every time the camera pans to him. Shocking - only bright spot MARTIN KELLY.

Konchesky - rubbish, Skertl - rubbish, Maxi - what is he on the pitch for and sadly Lucas back into his shell, too many mistakes in that position.

Reasons why i think roy is the wrong man for us

It is surprising, even by Liverpool standards, to witness the amount of words already expended on the failings of Roy Hodgson and his Liverpool team.

Surprising, because never can a new manager have inspired such passion in so short a space of time, and never can it have been so negative so early into a new manager's tenure at Anfield.

Liverpool fans are a loyal lot, we are usually loath to criticise our own, even if it is deserved. But it strikes me that Hodgson is immune from such protection, because of mistakes – and he has admitted to them himself already – he has made at the start of his reign.

Most specifically, he hasn't made his club's supporters feel that he is one of their own. Throughout his career he has been a diplomat, a statesman and someone who considers words directed towards others carefully

You can be too careful in football though. Hodgson is always at pains never to be seen to showing a lack of respect to his former clubs by suggesting his current team is any better, or any bigger. All very well, but Liverpool ARE bigger. we are a global brand renowned all over the world.

He is always careful, too, to ensure he doesn't appear to criticise opponents, and to show the proper respect to figures in the game that deserve it. That is all very well too, and fairly honourable, but it has backfired at Anfield because there is a sense amongst fans that he thinks more about others than he does about Liverpool.

His comments suggesting he hoped Sir Alex Ferguson would forgive him for taking the Liverpool job were meant to be a jocular attempt at illustrating his friendship with the Manchester United manager, but they were misjudged.

His failure too, to respond to Ferguson's stinging criticism of Fernando Torres after the visit to Old Trafford was a huge mistake too, and his belated attempt to rectify it a week later couldn't disguise that fact.
On Merseyside, you have to check in any respect for anything Manchester, and certainly anything Ferguson, at the door. You also have to illustrate that you understand just how huge Liverpool as a club is, and maintain that ideal at all costs.

Hodgson hasn't done that, and he exacerbated that mistake by appearing to criticise fans over a planned protest against the club's owners. Under the current circumstances with the current mood amongst fans, that is suicide, even now.

All this doesn't matter quite so much, of course, if you are winning, but produce the sort of performances that Liverpool did against the likes of Northampton and Blackpool and it matters a great deal.
Some people will argue that this is just a question of PR and simply shouldn't be part of a manager's responsibility, but it is missing the point. It is not spin, or a lack of it, that is the problem, but a lack of empathy with what it means to BE Liverpool.

But serious questions still need to be asked. Javier Mascherano was a huge loss, even if it was always going to happen, and to replace him with Christian Poulsen doesn't look good business.

Likewise, it has been obvious for two years that Liverpool desperately need cover in defence, depth in midfield, more quality out wide and – most importantly – proper cover for Torres.

If you are going to take a stick to beat Rafa Benitez for these failings, then the new manager must also be taken to task for failing to address them in the summer, no matter how little time he had.

It is insane to go into a season without a proper back up striker , and even if there were mitigating circumstances then Hodgson is still paying a heavy price for this lack of vision, or action, or a back up plan, depending on how you view his summer activity.
It will be January – if he can last that long – before he can address those problems (if there is actually any money to spend of course), and the months before then are beginning to look pretty bleak. So what can he do in the mean time to drag Liverpool out of the mess they are currently in?
Well, he has to understand fully what the fans expect of anyone wearing the crest of their club, on the pitch or off it. And he has to communicate that to his players.
Liverpool need some pride, some passion and some commitment in their performances. They need to show they understand what it means to be part of such an historic club, and that must come from the manager.

I apologise for the length of this. but once and for all i want to try and demonstrate why roy just isn't the man. he may be honourable, a nice man even. but he just isn't a liverpool manager

What we really need is pace, and a little bit of creative finesse. a big problem liverpool have had is breaking down the so called smaller clubs, who in fairness are usually very well organised. it is very difficult to break down a team that has all there players in there own half, there is no space and all you can do is pass side to side or backwards, trying the long ball. we all saw on sunday that possesion actually counts for nothing, ( chelsea had 60%) its clean sheets and goals that win games. liverpool for a long time have had no pace where its needed (wingers) to be able to change tactics against teams like wigan etc to play on the counter, to allow them to come on to us, commit men forward then hit them on the break. if we just brought in one pacey winger in jan i would be pleased, yes we need a forward at sum point, but kuyt played really well sunday an did a lot of running for nando. so im saying roy break the bank for sanchez, he would cost 25m because he is worth 25m! we have creativity in the middle, with gerrard we have a striker in torres, we have a work horse in kuyt now lets have a winger that makes the fans get up off there seats when he gets the ball in the opposite teams half! what do reckon ed, you have 25m in jan do you go all out for sanchez or buy 3 or 4 good players that offer pretty much what we already have? {ed's note - I would still go for Honda ahead of anyone else myself mate, but I would try and raise the money for Sanchez as my next choice.}

Reasons why i think roy is the wrong man for us

Joe Cole out tonight. Could be a blessing in disguise, because hopefully we'll play the same formation tonight that we played against Chelsea on Sunday.

Hope Hodgson doesn't go back to 4-5-1 when Cole returns. We need to have Kuyt up there to support Torres (or N'Gog). Bolton and Chelsea proved that. And because of Kuyt's versatility, he can shift to the right to make it a 4-5-1 when we're on the back foot or holding onto a lead.

Interesting that many of the younger players chances are happening in the Europa League and most likely the FA Cup , I suppose it shows that the club has it's priorities in order , but I for one would like to see LFC win the Europa League this season aswell as lift the FA Cup .

If the first team is largely responsible for the League form and the younger players are taking their chances in the Cups , hopefully LFC can pull off a great season - winning some trophies and playing in the Champions League next season .

Ed if you where in Roy's position and given the task of improving the squad with additions that would make sense financially, had good potential for the future and would generate funds commercially who would you target ?

ElRoja {ed's note - Honda, Llorente, Pienaar, Afellay, Emanuelson, Sanchez, Hulk and Banega are the ones I would look at. Obviously there is no chance of getting all of them, but they would all improve the first team and be either cheap or top class players.}

10 Nov 2010 17:45:50
Really hope we don't go with 4-5-1 tonight. If we do, I reckon it'll be a draw unfortunatly. Torres will be up top on his own and marked out of the game.

I would play with 4-4-2. - Reina, Kelly, Carra, Skrtel, Konchesky, Miereles, Gerrard, Lucas, J.Cole, Kuyt, Torres.

I know many wouldn't favour Miereles on the right, however if Johnson was back in the team Johnson could bomb forward and provide width on the right, with Miereles covering should we get caught out on the right hand side.

Hey ed.
Great site you have.Watched the game on Sunday and saw this bald chelsea dude, think his name is Nicolis or something.Ed, is he always this cold, moody and seemingly arrogant?
I wonder how his coaches go about calling him to order.
There is player I heard of who, when playing in the world cup this year, told his coach to piss off, and there was some squad rebellion of which he was largely responsible.
This nicolis guy seems like one fella who won't hesitate to tell the gaffer where to get off.
Great site, mate.Love the comedy here {ed's note - I am not sure who you mean mate, sorry.}

GUYS, GUYS, GUYS. . let's get some perspective here in regards to Hodgson. Whilst Roy's teams have never set the world alight in regards to entertainment, they are effective.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
You may be right and this is the first time I've posted against Hodgson or any olther Liverpool manager, but this is out third "effective" manager in a row and I'm tired of it.
I'm tired of wondering will our team go out against Wigan (or whoever) and start slowly and definisively because our manager has focused so much on how they can hurt us rather than how we can hurt them.
I'm tired of wondering if the player or players who did so well in the last game will all feature in the next as the manger wants to prove he knows better.
I'm tired of the manger trying to be so clever with tactics that players can't get used to a system.
We all have enough effectiveness and caution in our day to day lives, our team is meant to be about going for it, winning.

It kills me to say it but look at Manure away from home to Valencia. All sqaure with around 10 minutes left and Valencia were well on top. Fergusion took off Anderson and put on Hernandes, a striker. he scored and they won. None of our last 3 managers would have done that away from home at that stage of the competition.

10 Nov 2010 16:23:28

I'd be delighted if we signed Honda in the January transfer window. Not sure how much CSKA Moscow want for him, but the £9m reported sounds very reasonable. We'd make a fair chunk (if not all of it and more) back from the publicity the deal would get in Asia.

Only worry is, if the likes of Real Madrid or AC Milan go in for him his price could shoot right up, and probably double. So we need to move fast and try for him in the January transfer window.

A strike force of Torres, Honda, Kuyt and N'Gog looks pretty tasty.

Whilst you make a lot of good points. most of which i agree with. . regarding the above in what way are roy tactics effective? Roy is a mid table manager, and whilst it would be regarding as a measure of success for say fulham to be where we are, its not success for us. Its not efective for us to continually grind out results, lucky wins, bore draws.
I am more than willing to be proved wrong. but can someone, anyone, possibly explain to me what roy is doing that's effective.

chris 1

in reply to the above. . .

what i'm saying Chris1, is that Hodgson can get a team organised to be difficult to beat (Hallmark of "Rafa two-defensive-centre-midfielders Benitez"). .once we are difficult to beat again we have something to build on and can start to play a more expansive game (Sunday saw the seeds of this). Admittedly this type of tactic is difficult to use against teams that want to shut up shop against us but we have encountered this for years before Hodgson arrived. Now that NESV are in place we can maybe get some quality back-up for Torres (something that hasn't been done for 3 transfer windows) and someone to supply the ammo from wide with genuine pace AND ability. . we ALL want the same thing, a successful Liverpool.

In reply ;-
Not a rumour just an observation. . . Likewise Gerrard who is 100% committed to the club but, in his own words "wants to win trophies and only has a maximum of 5 years at this level", I hope I'm wrong but he may have shot himself in the foot, NESV like to off load aging players before their value diminishes providing there is a replacement at hand, HONDA ?. Hope I've read the sign wrong, what's your opinion Ed? {ed's note - Gerrard, like Torres, is worth too much in merchandising to let go because of his sale value dropping.}"

Did you not see Gerrard's hat trick against Napoli. The fans singing his name and he was a man possessed and liverpool looking like a one man team. Against Chelsea he was awesome as well and Torres was class.

No way would NESV cash in on them. The idea is that we would strengthen our squad and not deplete it. Plus why would they risk the wrath of the fans and reduce their merchandising level.

Giggs has proved you can be inspirational and play till you are older. Gerrard can do the same. Yes NESV want younger players but you need to do that in balance!

In reply to your post I hope you are right, (by the way I said Torres would stay) the Ed put it in a nut shell the merchandise sales for Gerrard outweighs the sales value, GREAT, thank god for that, thanks to today football structure that the popularity and merchandise sales a player can generate outweighs his on the pitch value, unlike, Ray Clemence, Emlyn Hughes, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Ian Callagham and Robbie Fowler and many others who still had massive ability but were sold on, just beyond their glory days.
Another question to your post would you lose Gerrard for a EPL Championship and European Cup?

More important would NESV.

Lets all go out any buy a Gerrard shirt to ensure the merchandise value is massive and he is with us for life.

If results go as expected tonight we could be 5 points off second
i.e. citeh beat scum
Arsenal win
newcastle win
bolton draw at the small club over the park
Liverpool win

that would chelsea 28
utd 23
arsenal 23
citeh 23
newcastle 20
Liverpool 18

6th place and 5 points off second - not bad after our worst start for 53 years. Come xmas could be right back in the hunt for 4th spot minimum as citeh, arsenal not consistent
utd throwing points away - too many draws

couple of additions in Jan - Hulk and Turan would do me and who knows where we will be come May.

Spot on CR!

I agree with you but it wasn't actually me who said this. I said "Pepe might want out but i'll still be here" a poor attempt at humour i know.

If Pepe wants out after just singing a new 6 year deal and we already finished 7th then somthing has upset him. Me personally think that it is the same reason that Agger probably wants out and his name is Roy Hodgson. I read a few articles 2-3 weeks ago that Reina was also unhappy with Roy's tactics and our new goal keeping coach. As the articles says that Hodgson has told Renia when he gets the ball to hold on to it longer and settle everything down. When we know that Pepe is the best goal keeper in the buisness at getting counter attacks going with is quick thinking and fantastic passes.

Yesterdays negative comments from Roy about Pepe's future could mean there has been a fallout between them. If not no matter what Roy shouldn't have said what he said. Yet again he prooves me right and should leave the press conferences to some one else. J Heny maybe? Who since he took over the club has said all the right things and apparently knows nothing about football. But for me he sounds as if he knows more about football than Hodgson.

I hope i'm wrong but it's the only reason i can think of IF Pepe wants to leave.

GUYS, GUYS, GUYS. . let's get some perspective here in regards to Hodgson. Whilst Roy's teams have never set the world alight in regards to entertainment, they are effective. If you want to blame him for the terrible start that we had to the season then surely you have to give him some credit for winning the last four games on the bounce? If it's nothing to do with Roy and we have won these games in spite of him and not because him then you have to point the finger and our exceedingly well paid players. .you can't have it BOTH ways.
People on here keep going on about the team of the late eighties and the football we played and yes it was amazing, but no-one complained when we played counter-attacking calculated football under Houllier and Benitez and won things. it was only in the barren years that the back-biting started. . (we wnt as far as we could in my opinion under both and for what they achieved i thank them).
Hodgson has his own ways of doing things and allied to new players coming in, it will take time to gel. . i don't advocate blind support, but give the guy a chance. . a win tonight and we will move up the table again. he may not be the answer, in fact he's probably not, but whilst he is our manager and we are moving in the right direction support him and the team.

Oh dear. so let me get this right and see if i understand your viewpoint. Because i think Roy is an awful manager, and say so. somehow according to your logic i should go over to the dark side and go onto the man u site?. .what sort of weird world do you live in may i ask.
Just because someone who has supported the club for decades doesn't agree with the manager and says so somehow equals disloyalty. I tend to think the opposite. why shouldnt i complain/ whinge/ about the manager. I have supported every manager. even souness. but the present incumbant is causing more long term harm than good.
If it was just me moaning about him then you may have a point, however there are far more than just myself. Yes we have climber the table. but that is more in spite of roy than because of him. Do you honestly think we have played any attractive football this season (barring first 45 mins at chelsea)

I don't share your blind optimism and support anyone just because they are there. they have to prove they deserve to be there. and roy really doesn't do that

We do have a buy back clause in Hammill contract.

Joke that we let him go after not playing a single minute for the 1st team. Even the likes of Guthrie, Darby, Ince, Amoo and Eccleston have had minutes.

The latter few may still yet cut it, but at least they are getting the chance to prove it

I thought Eccleston was really good against Napoli.I'm not saying he is a bad player, I was just saying at least he's had the oppurtunity. Hammill never even saw the bench.

I don't think we have anything to lose in signing him back for his buyback clause. If it didn't work out we would still get more than we paid back.

Dear Roy,
as you seem incapable of giving an answer that befits our club, what should be your stance and actually shows some fckn teeth here is a template when questioned about any player who may or may not have spoken to the press or if any manager starts with mind games again:
"Player x has an x years contract remaining to Liverpool FC which we intend him to honour. He is a valuable player we really like having here and who seems to like being here, and frankly who wouldn't? This is Liverpool Football Club! It is an honour for any player to play here and in front of these fans. Any player who doesn't think so or thinks he is somehow better than this will spend a long last few years of their contract not playing very much because frankly (roys favourite word) they are not worthy of the shirt"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This is agood answer if the story is false. If the story is true, then this answer would piss the player off, big time. In todays game you need a manager with excellent man management skills, not saying things that fans want to hear.

10 Nov 2010 12:24:50

Further to the comment:
Given recent quotes from NESV re transfers being decided by committe.

1. Not a lot of faith in Roy
2. How would any prospective managers feel about this?

This is not anything against the manager - The vast majority of succesful clubs work this way, with scouts, directors of football and the board all having a say in who they think the club should sign - the issue we have had in recent years is that Rafa insisted on having the final (and only) say in who was signed and look at his record - Over 60 players came and went and I can count on one hand those who have been a great success.

You will find that Hodgson will have the final vito should he really object to a particular signing.

Morning Ed,

We do have a buy back clause in Hammill contract.

Joke that we let him go after not playing a single minute for the 1st team. Even the likes of Guthrie, Darby, Ince, Amoo and Eccleston have had minutes.

The latter few may still yet cut it, but at least they are getting the chance to prove it

The genius, that is Rafa Benitez! ! sold him without giving him a very deserved chance.

RH saying we need Strikers and Defenders which i so desperatly means wingers aswell.

if we don't buy good quality come jan/ summer. we on border line ov going fowards and back to, id say souness days but i think deep that it could be as low as before the days of shanks. we can not afford to buy any more bad buys for big money, the babbles are perfect example,

10 Nov 2010 12:03:58

I have always had some faith in Ryan Babel, but in recent times he has become a relatively poor footballer.
What makes the Babel suitation worse is that LFC need a quality winger and Babel is an option for this position.

Juan Mata would be an excellent buy and Babel should be second choice or sold.

Ashley Young would be a good signing, but with Joe Cole already at the club and promised first team football, where would that leave Joe Cole.
The Joe Cole situation would be exaberated due to Young and Cole both being English and both players play in the same position on the field.

Did you ever think all the fans who are ranting and raving over Hodgson is because they are so passionate about the club? I think he is an awful manager bailed out by Liverpools better players the last number of games. He has no tactical inclinations what so ever. He says stupid things in press conferences: yesterday being a prime example. So us all a favour stop with your heart rules head attitude, we're all entitled to an opinion.

I do hope your right mate and I hope Liverpool achieve great things whoever the manager is. But I'm worried by Hodgsons constant negativity. I don't think i'll ever completely accept Hodgson as a manager as I want to see Arsenal style football return to Liverpool and he simply doesn't play it. But hopefully i'm wrong.

OK a few points. . I think that this will be the team to play Wigan tonight.

Reina , Johnson , Carragher , Skrtel , Konchesky , Meireles , Lucas , Gerrard , Maxi , Kuyt and Torres

I would love to see Kelly have a run in the first team. I have been saying all season when Carragher has been at RB that Kelly is better than Johnson and Carragher at RB. I know it's not real life and a bit silly but on Fifa I always play Kelly at RB. Another crazy decision was selling Adam Hammill, I remember watching him score in the same game as Steven Gerrard, can't remember who it was against but it was the same day as Stevie was found not guilty. . My step father is a Barnsley fan and half of my family are from Barnsley and every time he scores the rest of my family (Liverpool Fans) get stick. I hope that we do have a buy back clause on his contract.

10 Nov 2010 09:53:36

A lot is being said about signings and players etc. most of the mentioned players have played against us and performed well.
The question is that many players can't perform on a regular basis for a sustained period. The EPL is a very demanding league and we should be very carefully in our selection of players. Over the years we have bought players for huge sums of money and they have been very poor. We have than had to realise them for next to nothing. The business model lfc should operate under is that a panel of experts should evaluate the players for the positions we need them for and decide on the best outcome. Consensus is very important and i believe the true LFC supporter will appreciate the signings after this kind of verification. We would all like our club to have the best players, but we should also be business wise and spend smartly to keep the club debt free and in a sound position, run by professionals. LFC should be talked about as a leading business model, apart from winning trophies.

Best of luck lads WIPI.

How can pepe come out after the best result of the season and say what he said i think that's out of order if he wants to leave then why did he sign a 6 year deal what a prat

10 Nov 2010 09:28:18

I understand that buying top class players will be tough in our current position in the Prem & Europe (Europa League) but don't dismiss these players. A comment from Hodgson went a little like this, we want to buy the best players around and try to buy the player Real Madrid, Barcelona & Inter Milan are looking to buy. but he also said in January if he cannot buy his first choice players he won't buy for the sake of it! so don't be surprised if we don't end up buying in January. On the other hand Damien Comolli has been appointed since and we don't know what his ideas are.

Liverpools Worst Premier league team ever:

Pegguy Arphexad
Kromkamp Kvarme Babb Traore
Diomede Cheyrou Biscan Nunez
Dundee Voronin

Manager: Souness

* How can Babb be in there, He put he's crown jewels on the line for us, still makes me shudder the thought of he's knackers slammin against that post. . Traore won a champs league winners medal. .did JULIAN DICKS ever win anything with us? ?*

"If he is then Glen becomes a serious contender to come back into the team. Glen has had groin pain rather than serious groin problems. He trained on Tuesday morning but stiffened up again afterwards.

"I don't think he's ready to play 90 minutes at the moment but I'm hoping he will be fit enough at least to start the game on the bench and perhaps come on if we need him." - Roy

To this guy:

If Reina wants to go then get rid for the 20 million clause AT LEAST and get on the phone to Shay Given. Riena seems like he wants to be at the San Siro with Rafa.

STOP PLAYING CHAMP MAN. We will not get Shay Given as they will not sell to us. What can't some of you people grasp that we will not get other top PL clubs players. The answer is let Woy go because he has clearly upset the harmony.

10 Nov 2010 08:33:33

I don't think Babel will be sold in January. His value is probably at an all time low due to lack of game time, so unless it is a player+cash deal for someone we sign, then I think he will stay for depth until Summer. He is only 23 remember, so even though he hasn't showed his potential consistently, he is still young.

I will say though, if a team offered 7-8m pounds for him I think Roy would drive him to the airport :o

Reina won't leave. It's his way of putting pressure on the owners to do a couple things, one being to invest in the squad heavily and secondly to possibly sack Roy.

10 Nov 2010 08:25:11

Afellay is going to Barca. So we can all stop linking him with us! Although I would love to see him in a red shirt, he would be class with gerrard in the middle of the park he is just what we need."

How do you know he is going to Barca? Please don't tell me you're basing this entirely on a piece from a pro Barca paper? Last i heard he hadn't made up his mind and just gave a standard "it'd be great to play for. ." answer that all footballers give. It's also worth checking the quotes as many have left out the word "don't" from what he said to intimate that Barca have already made contact with PSV. Pro Barca paper+sloppy journalism, nothing more. He may well end up at Camp Nou, but if you believed everything Sport put out then they'd have half the pros in the world registered.

Well according to the players agent and on Revista Del Liga Afellay is in early talks with Barca, nothing concrete but still early negotiations. Did anyone actually think we'd snap up a player all the top clubs are after?

Also editor love the site. I've heard Ever Banega has been having some disputes with Valencia following discipline being taken against him for a birthday party. Do you think we are keeping tabs on him or there will be any chance we'll get him? I know it's not a priority position but I have faith this guy could be the next Alonso.

he's coming off a huge injury, so its a risk, because he could be like Eduardo and never regain he's pace and killer instinct cause of the injury. On the other hand he was awesome before he got injured. Montenegro has got 4 good am and he'll probably become the best one in the end.

1. WINGER THAT HAS PREVIOUSLY PLAYED IN THE PREM SUCH AS - . .A.YOUNG. .JARVIS. .KRANJKAR. .A.JOHNSON. WRIGHT-PHILLIPS.
