Hi all,

ED1, I have made a small donation to you (although smaller than I would have liked but it's so close to pay day) .

It's the least you deserve for all the effort you put in mate.

Cheers

RedNick.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much and I am very grateful, people have been beyond fantastic.}

10 May 2016 21:41:27
I think it just shows that even though we all love a good moan on here, we know how much time you and all the other Eds put in and we all respect the excellent job you do.

{Ed001's Note - as a grumpy old man, I know a good moan is needed often!}

10 May 2016 21:11:51
Don't post often but I do visit the site daily. Ed001 sorry to hear your troubles mate. I made a small contribution hope you get it all straighten out! All the best!

Jman9.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much Jman9, if nothing else the fact so many people care has made a huge difference to my mental state!}

10 May 2016 20:56:54
Lallana flatters to deceive does great things until within sight of goal then fluffs his lines. Ultimately his job is to create and score, for all his trickery he does previous little of either.

Hi Ed01

Just donated mate. I'm half arab so know how difficult it can be over there. Good luck and YNWA.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, it can be great as well to be fair. But there is no accountability for those that shaft people.}

10 May 2016 20:34:48
Saw this a. m. in transfer gossip, I know most of that is rubbish but it mentioned spurs interest in lallana 20m and hammers interest in Benteke 25m, if either of those were true I would snap their hands off, what you reckon eds?

Believable3 Unbelievable6

{Ed001's Note - I would defo take the money for Benteke, Lallana would depend on the options available to replace him.}

10 May 2016 21:11:05
Do you know if these rumours are true or not ed001?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there is Benteke interest from the Hammers, but it is unlikely to happen unless they can offload Carroll. No idea on the Lallana one as of yet sorry.}

10 May 2016 21:32:18
Carroll and Benteke well the could be a dealy duo . headers for days.

10 May 2016 20:11:35
Big shoutout to Benny Baller for making everyone on the page aware of Ed001's situation! We all know ed001 is too modest and humble to ask for money himself so benny you've done yourself proud mate!

Believable12 Unbelievable4

10 May 2016 20:43:03
Just donated. Happy to help Ed.01 YNWA.

10 May 2016 22:10:58
Yep, well done Benny Baller on Ed-aid.

10 May 2016 19:52:25
Ed001 left u a wee donation all the best 👍🏻.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much mate.}

10 May 2016 19:40:41
Would love to here the Eds and fellow reds thoughts on our chances in the final. sevilla are a great side with quality!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I see no reason why Liverpool should not win the final.}

10 May 2016 20:22:20
We never ever do anything the easy way, but I think we have too much for Sevilla. I'm going for a 3-1 victory after extra time.

10 May 2016 20:30:31
Every game is winnable;if we play like we did in the 2nd leg against Villarreal then we would stand a good chance of winning.

10 May 2016 19:16:30
Would there be any kind of interest in Ben arfa since he would be a free transfer. Think he would be quite a decent signing even if he struggled at Newcastle.

Believable1 Unbelievable8

10 May 2016 19:35:51
Do we have room in the squad for him?
He would block the likes of Ojo.
His injury record is not great.

I'd be disappointed if we splashed out on mega wages for Ben Arfa, we already have better than him.

10 May 2016 19:47:29
Agree with Ron.

Even if he requested modest wages or even a "pay as you play" there's no point. There's no chance he'd displace Coutinho or Firmino. If he rediscovered his early Newcastle form, he might displace Lallana. But I honestly don't see that happening.

And in terms of back up / rotation, first off we have Markovic coming back who'd I'd like us to keep and actually use this time. And we have to continue Ojo and Ibe's development instead of sticking Ben Arfa in their way.

He'd come here, probably fail to break into the team, barely feature in the 2nd half of the season and be unhappy. Not worth doing that to a player just because he's free and in case all our other attacking mids get injured.

{Ed002's Note - Why would he want "modest wages" or some sort of "pay as you play deal"? You are living in a fantasy world and there are two other sides trying to strike a deal at the moment.}

10 May 2016 20:43:24
Maybe on a lesser scale than Balotelli, but Ben Arfa has a serious attitude problem, nevertheless. I remember it being said that he was far more talented than Benzema when both were at Lyon. Look at where Benzema is now, and where Ben Arfa is - a midtable Ligue 1 team, OGC Nice. Now why would we want a player without focus or dedication, even if it's transfer-fee free? He would simply never get along with Klopp or any of Klopp's methods.

10 May 2016 20:18:22
I read the OP's post as implying that part of the reason he thought Ben Arfa would be decent business is because he's available on a "free" transfer. So I was trying to make the point that I don't think the cost of Ben Arfa to the club was relevant because imo, he wouldn't improve us, would not be able to get in the team regularly and would just end up unhappy. So even if he cost the club basically nothing (and I'm completely aware that he would cost the club a lot more than nothing), it's not a good enough reason to go for him.

I wasn't trying to say that I think he actually would play for half nothing.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

10 May 2016 19:57:54
We've already got better? So is the said interest Barcelona hold made up? If so I doubt we have better and while I'm all for the youngsters getting a chance apart from Stewart the rest are way off from regular first team football, Ojo being the only other I think might be able to cut it but he's still way off.

11 May 2016 03:54:00
on his day he's amazing, if he was consistent and his attitude turned around then absolutely he would improve our team. I don't know if he has it in him to do that for more than a season though.

10 May 2016 18:19:10
Just a thought after seeing the fantastic response from fellow posters to Ed001's "keep out of jail" fund! What about having a monthly GoFundMe campaign with a target of X to either help pay for more Ed's (or pay more of the existing ed's! ) and/ or reduce ads on the site?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - that is not a bad idea.}

10 May 2016 20:01:25
If you remind us monthly Ed and put a link up, I'm sure there's loads of people who could and would donate a few quid each month to help keep the site running. Every little will help.
And this is isn't charity either- the site is far and away the best there is, and I can't tell you how great it is not to have to rely on the thousands of pages of lies and garbage that get put up every week.
This site is a life saver guys, and its well worth a few quid to help keep it going.
Thanks to you we know where the club is really showing an interest and where its all just lies- and that alone is brilliant. At least because of you we know what players we can get our hopes for, and when there is no chance even worrying about a particular player.

{Ed001's Note - I will have a look at some options, see what way will work best. If we can get enough I would like to use it to begin employing the editors, if people are happy with that?}

10 May 2016 20:44:19
If you're doing that Zeddicus, you may as well just have a premium account scheme (pay monthly to use the site) . Naturally, you'd have to include bonuses for paying but I believe that is against the ethos of this site, no?

I've been on this site since probably January 2010, people used to post these huge made up stories about Ian Ayre dropping his briefcase in Madrid on a windy day and the guy posting the story would have caught a glimpse of the offer to Atletico for Aguero.

Ahhh the good old days.

This was all back when you didn't need to register to post on the site. I miss those days =[.

{Ed001's Note - they could still post those stories, but people just stopped bothering making them up sadly. Maybe that is what I should spend more time doing? Writing ridiculous rumours to see which ones make it into the papers!}

10 May 2016 20:48:43
They are already over paid 😂.

{Ed001's Note - they will be when you join the fold....}

10 May 2016 20:53:33
I remember Ed001 saying that some type of subscription model had been tried in the past but it didn't work. So I suggest, and suport, the "donation" model. I also think it would be a good idea to keep the donations anonymous. Most people would understand me if I say that optional financial donations in a group have a way of bringing about "inequalities", in terms of perceptions, within the group. Just something for the Eds to think about.

{Ed001's Note - very good point and certainly something to think about.}

10 May 2016 20:59:21
I think that's a great idea Ed.

Although a thought could also be a nice box of red for Ed002 for all the hassle he gets for passing the knowledge he has on.

Or does this class as pleaseasy try the Ed002 apprication society page. This is the Liverpool page 😂😂.

Ra, really like the anonymity idea.

Hsf, there shouldn't be differences between the posters, you're absolutely right that that's against the ethos of the site. That's why the donation model works so well, especially if anonymous. Some people can give more, some less, some more certain months than others. At least it starts giving something back to the Eds.

If we've managed to raise over £1k in a day, and that's mainly the Liverpool site only, then I think this can work.

If people want to donate a fixed amount every month, that's up to them. If other want to dip in and out when they have spare cash, that's cool too and if others can't afford to donate, then they shouldn't suffer.

I BELIEVE!

10 May 2016 16:57:56
Hi Ed01 just seen the post by Benny for a whip round for you. I will add to your fund when the Mrs comes back with my card mate. I remember the old chat page yrs ago and you use to give me grief about me leaving the chat cause me Mrs was telling me too. Anyway glad to help out, and if you run one for Edo2, Benny. I have a spare Toffee Crisp Wrapper here. where do I send it to? Great site Ed been with you from the days of just rumours.

Hi Eds001, so sorry to her about the situation you're in, would of loved to donate but being 19 with my first child only a few months away moneys a bit too tight right, hope it all gets sorted and hope you have a fantastic wedding, also a huge well done to all the people that could and have donated it is truly a staggering amount to of raised in such a short amount of time and it completely epitomises what this site is.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - just make sure the little un grows up a red!!}

Of course buddy wouldn't have it any other way.

{Ed001's Note - that is the most important thing.}

10 May 2016 19:07:02
On the latest look you guys have raised £1230 in 1 day :'
Like, i literally don't know what to say?
All i know now is that 001 has the money to pay of the rest of his rent, allowing him to be able to fly again. An the money on top i believe is going to pay some of the loan from his brother in law who's paid some of the rent. Any extra i think is going towards a nip/ tuck.
I'm going to leave the fundraiser running for one more week, as i think ed deserves any extra for everything he does on this site. He is on here nearly 24/ 7, and always writing articles etc. Plus i hope some of it can go to new features and ideas i know he has for the site.

Just donated, I don't post much but check the site out anytime I can ( which drives my wife to despair ) . Only just seen the funder for ED001.
Mister you and this website have given me ultimate pleasure more than any other website in the last few years and when i got divorced it helped me through talking to other fans about the club and discussing all things LFC family, a donation is going in tonight, I don't care if its already gained more than enough, you deserve it
Take care buddy YNWA.

STOP FEELING GUILTY.
you and the other Eds have given enough of your time over the years. this is the No 1 site and we have had the pleasure of this for years. a little bit back in your direction is nothing. Most of us would do the same no matter which Ed was in difficulties, even for the Chelsea Ed. just take it as a thank you from us to you for everything. if you have any money left over put it towards the wedding and put it as a wedding gift from us. you deserve it. good luck.

General transfer question. Is the transfer window the same across Europe?

I see Bayern have announced two signings, one Sanches is to 'sign' five year deal on Monday.

How? Can we sign players from Monday or today?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - The window varies across Europe.}

The kid's 13. what happened to the idea of us not putting too much pressure on kids?

At that age he should just be running around a pitch having fun and learning how to control a football. anything else is too early.

On a side note, my 4yr old nephew can kick a tennis ball into a bin at 10ft 9 times out of 10. I think he could be the next Messi. any chance of a trial at Melwood?

{Ed002's Note - His career will go nowhere once he discovers girls, tequila and psychedlic drugs - and he about that age now.}

10 May 2016 19:16:00
Just ask Sakho.

10 May 2016 16:27:17
Hey ed, I've posted on quite a few pages lately but I haven't had a response. Is there a reason for this or have you not received anything your end?

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea, sorry.}

No worries ed, I'll try again.

10 May 2016 15:40:01
What is everybody's take on our new jersey?

I personally thinks it's one of the better ones in recent times!

Believable6 Unbelievable5

{Ed023's Note - I have just ordered it - I like it}

10 May 2016 15:44:31
Button on the collar is a bit odd IMO, otherwise I like it. For some reason it reminds me of the 2004/ 5 kit for Rafa's first season.

10 May 2016 15:46:48
I love it. i think new balance are doing a great job!

10 May 2016 15:53:56
I agree the button will take a bit of getting used too but otherwise I'm impressed.

10 May 2016 17:16:20
Don't like the collar - what's wrong with a v-neck? And why does it have to be yellow or white? I like yellow and missed it this year, but where's the white? Always got to be a bit o' white . otherwise my scarf's out of date, as well as my shirt! (adidas, mahoosive white v-neck, since you ask)

10 May 2016 17:48:03
Its red, just like this year, and last year, and the year before that one. Not a lot you can do with all red.

10 May 2016 17:58:42
I really like the new kit looks really good.

Don't know if anyone else has noticed but since warrior/ New Balance came in the sponsors on the shirts peel off very quickly.

Could just be that I wear them too much and they are then in the wash way too many times but I still have some of the old Adidas and Reebok gear in the wardrobe that is perfect.

10 May 2016 18:51:32
I think its pretty smart tbh, i wish though instead of yellow the lettering was white and the collar is a little bit strange but it's okay.

10 May 2016 15:03:44
A standard squad would have around 10 first team midfielders and Can, Hendo, Grujic, Milner, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino and Ojo may well be 8 of those. If we sign one or two more midfielders that leaves little room for Lucas, Allen, Stewart, Markovic and Ibe.

I'm interested to know which TWO of those 5 players you most want to be a Liverpool player next season. For me it's Stewart and Ibe, despite Ibe's struggles I'll always tend to back young Brits.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

10 May 2016 15:13:39
Lucas Stewart . Lucas is a nice person and like Allan people don't see what he does.

10 May 2016 15:13:41
Not sure grujic is really needed now in hindsight.
Lucas, can, Stewart, hendo, Allen and Milner are likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order for his position, never seen him play to be fair so I'm just assuming he's not going to slide straight into the first team, all those mentioned there have been playing so well recently it would be a shame to see any go.

10 May 2016 15:21:45
Hmm not sure about the second but Lucas for sure. Always a good option to help the midfield stabilise when need be or as a backup CB who can play the ball out.

10 May 2016 15:22:59
Can't decide between Stewart and Markovic or Stewart and Allen. I suspect Ibe may have chosen to follow the path of his pals Sterling and Sinclair, I hope I'm wrong.

10 May 2016 15:24:49
Grujic could be our Dele Ali. I am half hearted about Lucas bcos he hasn't step up like Can did. And he has slowed down. We need a more dynamic DM if we are to play that fast pressing counter attacking game. I mean so far from observation Real Madrid's Casemiro seem to be playing this role to a T and i do not see Lucas gg to that level. But if klopp can convert him into a sweeper kinda role like say Franco Baresi play, he could be perfect with his positional sense.

10 May 2016 16:09:20
DM/ CM - Can, Hendo, Milner, Grujic, Allen, Stewart

AM/ Inside Forward/ Winger - Firmino, Lallana, Coutinho, Ojo, Ibe, Markovic

I think Lucas long term future is at CB under Klopp.

I think the Pre-season battles: will be between Grujic and Stewart, Ibe and Markovic. Depending on who wins the battle you will see some movement, aka Ibe going out on loan or Markovic being sold.

I think it will be up to Allen if he is happy coming of the bench.

10 May 2016 16:10:05
Stewart and Marko for me. Stewart has shown good qualities and could improve with time. Ibe has never lived up to his early potential. Lucas has never been consistent enough and DM midfield needs a quality addition imo. Allen although improved drastically I still don't see him with a long term future here. Marko could be the width that Klopp has been looking for and if Klopp improves him as much as he has a lot of the other players then Marko could be a hell of a good player.

10 May 2016 16:36:05
Take Allen and Lallana, out of the mix. Firmino is thought of more of a forward. Keep Lucas, Stewart, Ibe and Markovic with the first team.

Use the money to concentrate on other areas.

10 May 2016 17:13:15
I think you need 6 more attacking midfielders and 4 more CM/ DM types.

6 attacking midfielders should be Coutinho, Firmino, Llalana, Milner, Markovic, Ojo.

The more defensive/ box to box should be Hendo, Can, Grujic and Stewart

Milner has the added flex of being able to play both attacking midfielder or in a deeper role, and if we keep Lucas he can provide cover at both CB and DM in a pinch.

I think the addition of Grujic may well end up with Allen leaving, but I can potentially see a new winger if Markovic isn't seen as up to scratch by Klopp.

10 May 2016 17:39:59
I agree with Allen, if he's content not to be an automatic starter, and Lucas is good defensive back-up - seems to be the only player who can get a tune out of Skrtel. And as for academy players, it has to be Brannigan for me. He does something no one else seems to be able to do with any consistency - hit a sweet dead ball. Great touch.

10 May 2016 17:53:05
Zimbo, neither Milner, Markovic or Ojo are attacking midfielders.

10 May 2016 18:03:54
Interesting answers guys. It's not very scientific but a quick count suggests that we're most keen to see Stewart and Marko next season and but people have lost faith in Ibe.

10 May 2016 18:59:01
This will be unpopular, but providing we buy a more defensive minded midfielder, or Grujic turns out to be just that, then I would much rather keep Allen than Stewart, they are a similar age anyway, if Stewart was 2-3 years younger I would be more inclined to keep him. I don't want to sell him, but if I had to choose, then it would be Allen.

10 May 2016 19:28:13
My problem with Lucas will only get worse with time, he's too slow for how he tries to play and ends up giving away a lot of fouls. I'm not madly convinced about his passing range but then we're not looking for him to be spraying passes around. But the pace (lack of) and yellow card waiting to happen is a worry. Not quite Moreno level though on that front.

10 May 2016 18:38:29
Absolutley baffled what everyone on this page sees in Stewart. He is clearly not good enough. He offers absolutley nothing in the middle and is the most basic player to ever put the shirt on. If we are going to push on ww can have players of his standard in our squad.

10 May 2016 14:36:49
Great interview from klopp in liverpool echo. advising that players are written off to quickly and look how firmino is turning out, maybe we should all take note and get off their backs, klopp will take who he thinks is right for the team and we need to back them and his decisions!

Tried to donate many times and it is saying my card is blocked for some reason. Not sure that link will accept donation from India.

However wishing you a happy and successful married life and hope you settle very well in Spain.

10 May 2016 15:18:43
Small things Sukhyrai, small things. I just hope ed002 would be consistant with his replys. Other people post utter garbage most of the time and he doesn't give them s### like he does me most of the time. Yes i'm eager for any updates and might ask for updates but so do most others. I follow this site multiple times a day and see it as the best but sometimes the replys we receive are not right. Its funny also how you get off on such things.

{Ed002's Note - The point is that you don't grasp that things do not change that quickly. The situation with Zielinski has been explained - Udinese still remain unconvinced about the player and are pissed with him and with Liverpool. It seems to be impossible to stop him talking to the press and they will be well rid of him. I explained months and months ago about Liverpool being interessted in Rafa Silva -it was ignored as everyone is obsessed by people they have heard of and marquee signings. I also explained others are interested. I do not have the time to keep answering questions about the same players over and over. If you think my replies are inconsistent then please do not ask me anything else whatsoever. That way we will both be happy.}

10 May 2016 16:51:41
Come on you know the same questions about the same players are asked day in day out. It was only a few weeks back that the ed's were asked about Zielinkski by several posters after some mention in the press.

I used to read every post but lately more and more posts are repeats of already answered questions, criticism of players without properly basis or someone has read something on twitter and taken it as fact. I hold my hands and say I've been guilty of that myself. But have changed my ways and now just read what the ed's have written and what's they responded too.

Do you remember the grief macca used to get if a signing never materialised?

I've been reading this site for a few years and like yourself find myself on it multiple times a day. Its great isn't? I come back to the site daily due to the ed's responses without them it would be just any other Liverpoolfootball forum site.

10 May 2016 17:26:34
Sorry ed, I guess i'm expecting things to happen and update quicker than they actually do and i suppose when you tell us players were interested in a truly beleive in what you say and expect quick results.

I meant inconsistentin that others ask over and over and don't always get a harsh responce.

Can we move on, and I will try not to ask any repetative annoying questions again and maybe just wait for things to develop. Or like most viewers to this site don't ask anything just read everything that gets said and then get off on what fans ask.

{Ed002's Note - That's fine. Ok.}

10 May 2016 11:03:24
Any Irish lads able to donate for Ed's predicament?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 May 2016 14:05:17
Yeah managed to donate earlier no problem.

10 May 2016 15:51:21
Couldnt before, got in there with a different card.

Good luck Ed001, been up the creek myself and nice to pass it on to someone else.

10 May 2016 11:02:52
Moneys tight right now Ed001! You may remember I got engaged in March, but I'm now also set to become a first time dad and I had to shell out on a new car on Friday as mine broke down Wednesday night last week (head gasket gone) . Just to kick me whilst I was down as well I've been refused a council house last month despite the Mrs being pregnant and then yesterday I got told I still didn't qualify for a mortgage! Living off soup atm so I literally have nothing to spare. The bank have told me to pay off some of my finance plans on my car, bed, phone etc. In order to qualify for a mortgage, but doing that will knock out my deposit! On the bright side, the new job is going well so if I knuckle down I'm sure I'll pull through it. I'm just sorry I can't help you out.

You are an absolute hero to us all so thank you and good luck. Also thank you to all the other posters for your generosity towards the Ed. He's far too pretty to go to jail but more importantly, I would miss this site ;)

Keep on firing it up lads. Send our football rumours king to sunny Spain so he can save his wedding. Why should he get to be single and live a life of peace? :P.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - don't worry about me mate, you just worry about your little one coming. Congratulations and good luck with it all, you will need it!}

10 May 2016 12:13:09
Haha cheers mate, probably need more than luck. Ear defenders maybe! I'm really pleased the lads have got you out of the hole though. You've never even considered charging us for this site and you never make things up which is what separates you from the likes of Duncan and Kanwar. It's a privilege to have you.

{Ed001's Note - I have always believed that it should be free. The net should be about freedom of information and free for all. Same with TV in my opinion. I particularly hate subscription sites/channels that have ads as well! Annoys me no end.}

10 May 2016 13:24:15
Sorry Ed01 was not able to help you out but credit to the community we have here who were phenomenal.
Best of Luck and hope everything works out well for you!

{Ed001's Note - that's ok mate and thank you.}

10 May 2016 13:40:25
Ed001 so agree with you on paying extra for tv example sky absolute joke the money they want. Kodi all the way for me
Up the pool.

10 May 2016 10:35:18
Ed001 sorry mate I've been off the site for a couple days didn't know you needed help? Is to late to donate?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - thank you ST, I believe the link is still going. I can't look as it makes me well up inside lol. Benny just keeps me informed. It has already gone well over what I could have hoped for in my wildest dreams. I thought it would just be Benny and no one else.}

10 May 2016 11:02:05
Is there a link somewhere?

{Ed001's Note - https://www.gofundme.com/23b2fmb8

10 May 2016 11:15:33
Found it after a fair bit of scrolling lol, happy to help ed001 this site is massive, and I like to think LFC fans stick together, good luck with everything mate.

10 May 2016 14:53:26
Still open and very easy. Good luck Ed 001 thanks for all your efforts and the entertainment you bring.

10 May 2016 10:40:04
Where do I donate? Not a regular poster but on here enough to see just how much ed1 does. Sorry to hear of your issues mate. It's never nice having financial issues, been there! If somebody could direct me I'll bang 20 in the pot later on today.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

10 May 2016 10:28:33
This site really is a brilliant community and just goes to show what can be done when everyone pulls together. Over £1000, what an achievement (I'll be adding to that soon) and it really is deserved for all the fine work ed001 (and all the other eds) do on this site. Top work fellow reds!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - thank you Joe. Maybe I should change my mind about whether Liverpool should let you go in the summer after all!}

10 May 2016 10:53:41
Why would anyone ever want me to leave?

{Ed001's Note - it's the hair, I am old fashioned and go with the Bill Shankly view that footballers should keep their hair short so it doesn't get in the way or give an opponent the opportunity to pull it.}

10 May 2016 12:16:50
I firmly belive joes decent form as of late is directly due to his hair and beard, we can't simply chop it all off ed001. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - I would let him keep the beard....}

10 May 2016 10:26:45
Heya Ed01,
Will be making a donation later today and all the best I'm glad that everything seems to be sorted now :D This website has been an absolute source of joy for me and I have honestly learnt so much about both Liverpool and football in general! I've said before that I'm from Hong Kong and honestly I have to admit that when I first started supporting Liverpool (when I was 6 or 7 so around 15 years ago) I only did so because my friend liked them! But from reading this website and all the passion from both you and fellow reds, LFC will be a part of me until the day I die :)
I've always been curious about this but don't think I've seen it being answered before on the website, but any chance you could give us a brief history about the website, like how it came to be, why you made this website, how you get so much ITK (in the know) info all the time?
If it's something that's meant to be kept secret I understand :)

YNWA!
Kopchu.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - I used to knock around with a few players when I was younger, got to know a few fit blondes at college to get into VIP sections of clubs. My uncle knows a lot of people connected with the game as well. Then I moved down south for work, but kept in touch with them and my uncle would still pass on a few titbits too. At work it would end up being most of my days were spent talking about footie and people would ask about this and that etc. Then Ed033 wanted to make a site for a uni project, and I suggested the original rumours site as there was nothing like it back then. So we started it.

I would write out the info I was getting on paper at work (I didn't have a comp or access to the net back then in 2001), while I was supposed to be working. Then, in the evenings I would pass the papers on to Ed033 and he would gradually type it up and post it on the sites a little each day. As time went on, I got my own comp and internet access and I would spend all my free time chasing up information and getting in touch with people who worked in football and getting to know them. In the early days, I have to say Stirling Albion were a fantastic help in getting us up and running. Most other football clubs were not so helpful. Many tried to quosh rumours when we were first starting out.

Thank you mate.}

10 May 2016 14:14:27
Sterling Albion who are they?

{Ed023's Note - Exactly}

10 May 2016 10:19:28
My card got declined but best of luck Ed.
Have you considered putting a general donations page connected with the site? just for optional donations. I know i use the site every day and would be happy to donate a few bucks a month to the site.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - thank you for trying. We have had those up in the past, but I am not a fan of them, usually we can get enough from advertisers to get by.}

10 May 2016 09:54:51
Just got onto the site this morning and read what's going on with Ed01. Glad it's getting sorted and £10.00 on its way. I wish I could give more but I hope it helps. Great to see that in times of trouble, others pitch in to help. Benny your a star. We would be lost without the Eds and this site and I can only apologise for sending only £10.00 good luck Ed.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, it is more than you had to.}

10 May 2016 08:50:14
Thid is why i'm an lfc supporter and why i love this site, this is what life is truly about, helping each other and picking people up when they are down. Ed01 i only picked this up this morning but i will be making a donation later despite you reaching your target. I know you will put it to good use and we all benefit from saving your wrinkly ass from prison lol.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - did Benny share the pics with you as well? I told him they were just for him, I don't do arse pics for just anyone you know!}

10 May 2016 09:21:11
Yeah he did, put me right off me tea, but in all seriousness i am so pleased people could help and well done to benny for setting it up.

10 May 2016 09:35:27
Got to agree this is why I love liverpool fc a fallen arms get double what he needs in under 24 hours ed you brought so much joy to everyone over the years and I'm glad people could help you. I would loved to have helped myself but living up in the north east I'm struggling to find work at the moment with the added stress of my 2nd child due at the end of the month much love to everyone who has contributed though mass respect. I was reading about that stupid law the other week put with cars where people go into debt and just leave ferrari and that to collect dust on the streets in fear of getting flung in jail such a shame.

{Ed001's Note - yeah those cars are everywhere. There was a brand new BMW X5 that just sat on the road for over 2 years. I have not been back in a while, but I can't imagine anyone will have moved it. It is bizarre. And thank you for the best wishes mate. Hopefully a new job will arrive for you soon. What is it you do? Or type of work you are looking for?}

10 May 2016 10:05:37
I'm a welder/ engineer I'm 26 and looking to finish my level 3 I got mugged off with a company called atl where I was going to my level 3 and codes but they ripped me off they where only planning on giving me my level three and no codes so I was paying 6gr and for a qualification I can get for just over a grand ended up taking them to court and getting the 4 grand I had already put into it buy I'm stuck in no man's land because no company want to pay me minimum wage to finish my qualifications off when they can get a snotty nose kid in for 3 pound an hour. and thanks pal hope it goes better than my first he was a right pain remember the first night we took him home he screamed the house down from 7 till 7 nonstop haha. its such a bizarre place the UAE never been personally even though some of the cities look beautiful.

10 May 2016 15:55:46
Jamesy

Companies will still give you a job without your codings if you have experience welding.

I'm foreman at an engineering company and it's not something we ask for.

We get you codings that suit the work we do, only thing is they don't follow you if you left.

10 May 2016 16:13:37
I know pal but getting left in the dark after my level three I'm always flung to the bottom of the pile of CVS with doing some apprenticeship u can learn why I work I've done welding for 5 years I worked at caterpillar but it's down the pan and left me up that brown creek without a paddle. I got that job through going in for a maintenance role which I didn't get but offered me a welding position as they will put me through my qualifications which they did but to a level 2 because that's all they needed me to know so I couldn't leave after I've been trained up. I have my level two in welding, electrical and mechanical engineering I did want to do electrical when I left college but the country went in the recession and no one would take one because no one wanted the extra money on the wage bill. I have even offered to pay for my course fees because at 26 the government won't fund it no more. m to be fair I'm struggling to think what to do next.

10 May 2016 16:45:51
You mainly do stick and mig then?

Don't know if you want to work away but you could look at the oil rigs welders mate earns good money.

Just keep looking pal you might find a place willing to take you on and train you up more.

It's ok getting apprentices but they aren't any use until early 20s and that's if they stick at it.

10 May 2016 17:56:13
Yeh both lavers pretty good aswell like you said aprentices are useless mate they only do it so they got cash on there hip when there young. I've got a young family and I'm willing to take the hit to go down to minimum wage to better myself but companies don't want to hear it because they don't have to pay 2.00 a hour.

10 May 2016 06:24:17
Hello there,
new here, lovely work. Was wondering if it's possible to get a rundown of the players that Liverpool is really keen in/ considering/ monitoring?

10 May 2016 08:29:36
Hey Ed01, Maltese card declined for some reason but have funds going into English account Thursday so will donate then, hope everything goes smoothly for you from here. If you're ever in Malta, give us a shout and we'll go for a beer, a lot closer from Spain than Dubai haha best of luck.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, if I ever get lucky enough to go there I will take you up on that. Though you will have to drink the beers for me.}

10 May 2016 08:35:14
Very nice non alcoholic beer called clausthaler, I drink for 1-2 months every year when I feel like detoxing a bit,

{Ed001's Note - I have to say I have never liked beer anyway, nor any alcoholic drink, so it was not a miss for me when I stopped drinking.}

10 May 2016 08:15:02
"We need to help Ed001" Benny Baller said.

Sorry, not been on for 24 hours. Can someone please give a brief explanation as to the money being raised? Been a regular visitor and semi-regular poster for about 4-5 years and would be happy to contribute in some way.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - long story, but basic brief is this. In order to save up for my forthcoming wedding, I decided to go and stay with my parents for the rest of the year. To do this I asked for early termination of my lease, explaining the situation. The letting agent told me he had spoken to the landlord and there was no issue with it, he had agreed to early termination and they were just waiting for written confirmation. I checked a number of times with them and got the same information so began to prepare to go to Spain, booking a flight (which would have gone tonight), preparing to put everything in storage, packing, and also sorted out some things for while in Spain for a new project I wanted to do involving making short films for the sites. So got a TV studio and equipment loans arranged etc. Then the landlord tried to pay in the cheque for the final 3 months rent, here you do anything like that by cheque as the penalties for a bounced cheque are jail time, and I didn't have the money to cover it in the bank as I had spent it sorting out going to Spain and only left a bit behind in case of any early termination fees for the rent. I then found out, speaking to the landlord's manager, that the landlord had informed the agency a long time back that he had not agreed but they had not informed me. So I have had to try and borrow the money to pay the cheque and penalty fees in order to avoid going to jail here. I came up roughly £500 short and was talking to Benny about it and he kindly set up the donation page to help me. Thankfully everyone has raised the money I needed so I can not just avoid jail but begin paying back what I have had to borrow. I really can't stress enough how grateful I am.}

10 May 2016 08:10:24
Happy days then. But how can I still contribute? No reason why any extra funds can't go toward the big day. If that's not needed, surely your future wife/ husband will need something put away for therapy?

{Ed001's Note - hahaha she will no doubt need that!}

10 May 2016 08:17:29
Don't worry Ed, just bothered to search and found the link. Donated 30 so now up to 1000.

{Ed001's Note - star man thank you.}

10 May 2016 10:31:22
Ed if I could ask, how much did you borrow for this whole incident? Just wanted to know so that maybe we could try to reach that target for you and you can rest easy :)
And what can I say, our motto is 'you'll never walk alone' isn't it ;) We're always here for ya if u ever need help!

Kopchu.

{Ed001's Note - I couldn't ask for that much mate, it is a lot as rent here is ridiculous, hence my intention to go to Spain. Especially as the pound has fallen so far against the dirham, my money is worth less than ever! With all the penalty clauses and fees etc I ended up having to borrow 30k AED, which is getting on for £6k. That is far too much to ask for. I have an opportunity to do some work to get some of it back anyway, I only knocked it back as I was intending to go to Spain, but I am stuck here for 4 more months so I may as well take the work. It just means I won't be able to be around on the sites as much as I will have to concentrate on that.}

10 May 2016 11:02:32
Give it another week and you will be up to the 6k mate ;)

{Ed001's Note - is that a promise from you to top it up to that much? ;-)

10 May 2016 13:04:38
Maybe put some of money raised on LFC to win the Europa?

Morning Ed001 sorry I missed everything yesterday (was a bit busy) but I've donated a bit this morning hope it all works out.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed001's Note - thank you Chris, nice to know you have been busy, as hopefully that is with your business you were talking about a while back?}

10 May 2016 07:28:41
Ah if only Ed, I got well and truly shafted on that one by an organisation that promised to look after me
I've had my own joinery business for a while now though and that's paying the bills so can't complain
I'm working on something completely different now (it's a football related invention) if we ever meet I'll let you in on it and we can be millionaires together.

{Ed001's Note - well and truly shafted? I know that feeling! Especially in business, the amount of ad agencies that promise you they will take over inventory, you sort out all the details and then never hear from them again is legion!

Joinery business? That is a good trade mate, is it connected to the football invention? Next time I can return to the country we will have to arrange a meet up for everyone that wants to come, so I can thank you all.}

10 May 2016 08:11:10
The business is ok and it pays the bills but it's not really what I want to do for the rest of my days, no the invention is electronic and I'd be glad to run it by you any input would be greatly appreciated. Would be great to meet up when you're over good luck with everything.

{Ed001's Note - feel free to get in touch about it mate, be interested to hear about it.}

10 May 2016 09:35:22
Cheers Ed, will do.

{Ed001's Note - I will look forward to hearing from you then mate.}

10 May 2016 13:51:04
Ed, what do you think the tit who keeps disagreeing with my comments is ACTUALLY disagreeing with?
Sorry but I hate the disagree button.

{Ed001's Note - I don't like the buttons either, but they have kept a lot of the spam posts away since being placed up so they are not entirely useless. I just ignore the agree/disagrees.}

10 May 2016 05:52:05
Ed1,so sorry. Tried to contribute but my card was declined.

I'll send heartfelt blessings instead ok? :)

{Ed001's Note - believe me that is just as gratefully received mate. I am just touched that so many people care enough to even be bothered if they can't help.}

10 May 2016 04:40:24
I really don't know what to say to all of you who have donated or wanted to donate but couldn't afford to. You have all restored my faith in humanity. It has gone from being one of the most difficult periods to feeling like a fresh, bright start to life. Thank you everyone. In fact thank you everyone that has ever posted or just read the sites.

Especial thanks to Benny, not just for this but for all the work he has done on the podcasts with me, which are not as simple as our professionalism(!) might make it appear! They take hours to put together, and he has committed so much time and effort to getting involved and helping, even before this fantastic gesture by him.

I just wish there was some way to meet you all and thank you in person. You would have to come here though for now, as my passport is blocked due to this issue. A bounced cheque here is taken very seriously! Just ask Ed033, who ended up spending hours locked in a room with no food and water while a mistake was sorted out, after one was cashed that was meant to have been returned to him. A simple clerical error, as the company had forgotten to inform the police after the mistake was cleared up, but it led to him missing his flight home while they awaited a no objections certificate from the company concerned. He also had to pay all the penalty fees accrued from a bounced cheque and to change his flight.

Sorry I digress, this was meant to be just a thank you! It is just that those two words do not seem enough for all that everyone has done. I may not have met most of you in person, but it is times like this you realise that I am very blessed to have met you in some form. Thank you all.

{Ed001's Note - not so sure about that, but I won't argue if you say so CTR, I don't want to get you started or you will never shut up!}

10 May 2016 09:17:34
Ed001 I hope everything works out mate, you're a top guy that puts a lot of hard work into this site along with Ed002 and all the other Ed's. I wish you all the luck with your marriage and landlord issues. Just wanted to say sorry I couldn't help out, having tough times myself and donated what I could for a sponsored run my mate is doing, I feel bad and couldn't donate so felt guilty to leave you a message but still wanted too so I can wish you all the best.
Also wanted to say a well done to Benny for setting it up and also everyone that has donated is amazing.
A real togetherness on this site and I love it YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, and I appreciate the message, it does make a difference knowing people care.}

10 May 2016 05:20:48
Hi eds, espn running a pc abour westham budding 20-25mil for benteke. Should we even consider selling him to fellow contender for ucl spot? Benteke not ifring for us but we know he had done 20 goal/ season for villa. Or that diesnt matter as long as we get a good offer for him?

Believable0 Unbelievable3

{Ed001's Note - surely it depends what is best for the player? We never used to worry about our rivals, just what was best for us and the players. That is why we became so great, players fell in love with the club and were treated properly when the time came for them to leave, whatever the reason. They were given free transfers if required, they were allowed to move to the club that best suited them, this in a time when the contracts were all weighted towards the club and players had little power. We really should return to that policy and treat other clubs with respect as well in our dealings with them. It would help us a lot.

We used to be the club that players around the world aspired to play for because of who we were, as much as what we won. Ex-players would extol the greatness of the club to all and sundry, even when they had only been there a season and never made the first team. That is what we should be looking to restore: our reputation.}

10 May 2016 06:17:07
I think that before Westham can even have a sniff in the direction of any of our players they should get something from the game tonight. Last ever game at Upton Park, chasing a spot for the EL, it is the minimum we can ask. They have done the triple on us this season - league and FA cup just to then lose to the Mancs at home. It is about time they will add their contribution to the unified effort to stip united from that top 4 spot. Get a draw and then we can discuss Benteke.

10 May 2016 06:48:30
Thanks ed001. Appreciate the input. I noted your use of "we became. " " we really should", "we used to be. " . So that kinda means NOW we will sell to westham if the offer is high enuf but once we detect any hint of low balling, we will reject them even if benteke wants to go. Hope i read u right.

Fanobip, i totally agree. Stick it to mancs. But also mixed feeling as aloysius paulus maria lvg may go, he has provided no small entertainment for Liverpool fans worldwide.

{Ed001's Note - yes you did.}

10 May 2016 06:29:47
Benteke and Carroll wouldn't be a bad combo. Payet and Lanzini would supply them plenty. It would be a great move for both west ham and Benteke.

10 May 2016 04:47:07
Hi all I have been off site all day so only just seen what's gone on . I am but up against it cash wise at the minute so I threw a £5 in to the kitty I apologise that it's not more mate. All the best to you and the others eds and all fellow reds YNWA.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - apologise? No need for that, honestly it is fantastic that you are even trying, that goes for everyone. I really have no idea how to thank everyone. I have been trying to write something to say thank you since yesterday, but nothing can truly express how grateful I am. Thank you.}

{Ed001's Note - there are a lot of bad ones here, not all it must be said, but this end of Dubai is the cheaper end and it doesn't attract the better quality agents. Thank you very much, it is truly appreciated.}
