I really don't like it when Liverpool supporters pick on individuals when they lose, as I have seen today. It is really unfair.

Please remember, the whole of your expensive midfield and attack are cr*p.

Focus people, focus!

I will be so gutted if Rafa joins chelski,I would rather have him tomorrow for lfc and ask KD to leave with pride,I'm sure rafa with his ability can make henderson even carrol better,I'm sure crouch was not as good before we bought him,I know he left coz we bought torres, rafa converted carra into best defender in world, people say including some players that rafa man managment is poor, but that was the reason we had good football as every player wanted a praise from him,he never ever said that the team is best because of individual player but it was always a collective effort,I'm sure under him there was strictness on drinking culture,I'm sure players now may have that freedom for drinking, again that's upto the manager,I said this before,Marsaille manager described liverpool player as duracell bunny who never stop working hard,I'm sure no one can say that again,
No matter what people will say,we can't have KD for long, change him earlier before its too late and we won't have anyone to go for as still now Rafa is available...BRING BACK RAFA BENITEZ....!!

AY!

Hero.

Me want brendan Rodgers-3

Like a broken record I've been harping on all season about how average Mr. Adam is, and once again today's abject performance simply reinforced my opinion - he isn't just "average", he is absolutely diabolical!

Don't get me wrong, Adam isn't the sole problem, and shouldn't shoulder all the blame, but as a person who is a great believer in - "winning the midfield, goes along way to winning the match", he simply isn't "up" to the standard we as a club require, especially in the centre of midfield.

He lacks - mobility (is he actually "fit"?), cannot tackle, has (for mine) a suspect temperament; his so called "cultured" left foot would be seemingly more suited to a glass slide, microscope and a laboratory as opposed to a football pitch.

Yes, for those who are a bit slow on the uptake - I don't rate the guy (nothing personal mind).

For those "fans" calling for Kenny's head, I ask the question - who realistically is out there to take his place, I reiterate - realistically! Whilst I rate our club far and above Arsenal (no comparison) I would remind our fans that their fans, only two months ago were ludicrously calling for Wenger's head - now it would appear all is forgotten and forgiven.

If I do have a problem with Kenny, and by problem I mean minor concern, it would be perhaps the timing of his substitutions and the fact that he can't see what seems to be obvious to most of us is that Jordan Henderson cannot, or does not want to, play on the right side of the midfield.

Roll on Tuesday, bring on the Toffee-noses, and let's hope we put on a much better performance then we "didn't" today (I felt sorry for the travelling fans who spent their hard earned today - did the players?).

Liverpool must be havin a laugh if they think there still in the running for 4th spot....

Adam is playing terrible, henderson works hard but doesn't do much else, these 2 need to be dropped.
We seriously need new players in the summer Gerard is always injured Adam isn't a good enough back up...

Needs:Rafa Benitez back! Imagin what he could do with money to spend... an quality striker to partner Suarez, a right winger desperately, Kyle walker at right back, an a quality CM spearing, Adam, Henderson, no where near good enough for a champions league team...

Anyone agree that changes have to be made?

The point is, LFC is not a Champions League team and haven't been for a couple of seasons, nor will be next season, realism please.

The majority of fans have been to school for at least twelve years and still can't put one sentence together yet they expect Liverpool to have a complete team in one season. Get behind the team for goodness sake!

C'mon guys, I think KK deserves more respect. Maybe his tacktics don't quite work well with the players we have, but if you asked me what team had the most appealing squad at the start of the season I would of said Liverpool. Downing, C Adam, Henderson, Coates and the lot looked like to be title contenders at the start of the season (In my opinion). They just havent performed.
I reakon give KK one more season to prove that he can lead us to League and European glory (We got to Europa league, a chance to get a record 3rd?) and looking good on the FA front. Theres still hope.

YNWA From New Zealand. Keep fighting.

Its sad to think some ppl are happy with Europa league football that we will only be in because of the carling cup if things don't pick up

So u thought adam n downing wud make us title contenders did u? Wow , i admire ur IQ.

What ever happend to the rewflo fella, loved his posts and he was a reliable source

Ed's? Any idea? {Ed001's Note - no sorry.}

10 Mar 2012 21:54:46
As there are doubts to KK being manager next season, who do the eds personally believe should be a suitable/realistic replacement? Excluding Mourinho/Benitez, would AVB be out of our league? {Ed001's Note - Michael Laudrup maybe?}

Would love Brendan Rodgers or low

10 Mar 2012 21:42:14
Hello ed's. What do you personally think is the problem with liverpool's performances at the moment. Where do you think improvment lies? Many thanks, {Ed001's Note - mostly down to the turmoil the club has been in for the last few years. It takes time to build consistency, first you need to create stability, then you need to put in the foundations and gradually work from them. We still haven't got the stability yet, a lot of that, it has to be said, is due to the turmoil created by Suarez and the way the aftermath was dealt with.}

10 Mar 2012 23:01:51
i really dont know what henderson offers... what does he do? how does he cement his place in the team every week? cant defend, cant pass, cross... everything is just mediocra.

Adam 10m deadball specialist.more like deadhead.cant beat firstman or tackle.hes a liability.

Adam- leading assit king at liverpool, 3rd in league
Henderson- still only 20 and had strung together some quality passes

His cross got us our goal against Arsenal didn't it, even if it came off a defender? He was bought for the future and probably played more times than was expected, but he'll come good.

Keith

Your defense of henderson is he strings together passes? A professional footballer earning thousands a week to play, and all you can come up with is he strings together passes. unbelievable, age shouldnt even come into it, you play if your good enough and dont if your not, regardless of age, playing in the first team of liverpool in the premier league should not be a learning experience, that should be done in the reserves.

10 Mar 2012 23:00:18
after a poor performance again today against a relatively poor team I don't think any massive players will come. however watched junior hoillet put in another top class performance today with two finishes. can we please sign him?

Relatively poor team? Wonder what that makes you. Oh cheers for the 4 points by the way.

10 Mar 2012 22:41:11
can somebody answer me this please, last time i checked liverpool football club is one of the biggest teams in the world who should be title contenders in every comp they play in who bought players like alonso and macherano and torres in his day . so why did we spend over 100million euro on average players i dont know but i reckon we could of got 3 top class players for that maybe more instead we bought one great player who cant score enuf but is still great (suarez)
a goalkeeper who i dunno if hes good or bad (doni)
----------------------------------------------------
why does spearing keep playing he isnt good enough
downing is okay
henderson is okay (positive- hes young)
carrol is gettin better (positive-hes young)
coates is okay (positive-hes young)
adam is okay

none of these should be in a starting top 4 pl team
why did kenny not buy class instead of youth?
any other manager would be gone for wasting that sort of money at any other club.top class prices for average players

I'm not sure about you specifically, but I do remember fans and experts alike applauding Kenny and Damien's signings before the season started. Hindsight is a beautiful thing. It's so hard to bring in so many players and expect them all to gel in half a season. I think we did what we wanted to in the summer and it just hasn't worked out yet. If everyone is to be judged on a single season, then no one should be given anything longer than a one year contract. The truth is, things haven't gone to plan, but do we want to be so fickle and become the next Chelsea? Do you really want to see our new owners be like Abramovic? I think the long term future of our club is still yet to be determined, but the potential is there. Certainly, some changes have to be made, but you have to give the management team at least a couple of seasons to see what works and what doesn't. {Ed016's Note - we can't rebuild if we keep tearing it down}

We weren't in the CL when Kenny took charge and sadly in this day and age, top players want that competition and history doesn't come into it for most of them! We had to get players that were good enough for us to get into the top four, so we could then kick on!

Why don't players think that if they came to us and were the real 'missing link' and turned us around, they would be worshipped by every Liverpool fan on the globe? Suppose I'm biased, aren't I?

Keith

10 Mar 2012 22:38:42
I see spurs have lost the last 3 dont see them calling for redknapps head.in my opinion kenny made the wrong choice of team.he needs to know his starting 11, and stick with it.makr subs early and be abit more tactical.DORSET RED {Ed001's Note - you haven't been reading their site then.....}

ED I think its the same supporters going round each site saying to sack the manager lol

Speedy

Well spurs have played great throughout the season and actually won games we on the other hand erm....... thats the difference

10 Mar 2012 22:25:38
is it just me or does anyone else think suarez is a big part of the problem, dont get me wrong fantastic player but does'nt sit right in the team, our results and goals per game ratio were far better when he was banned!

Red Grand

Its not him its the style of play tactics whatever you wanna call it. He is isolated and has no support. The ball and flow of players is not wuick enough. In all the top teams they move the ball around quicker and players movements are not so rigid. This is the defensive style of Keen and Clarke that has been implemented into the team.
Suarezs only problem is that he is erratic and needs 5 shots to get one goal or shot on target....not to mention his moaning attitude... but wouldnt you get frustrated if all you do in training works out but when they get on the pitch nothing pays off...?

Speedy

Suarez main problems are lack of end product, temperament, regularly losing the ball with little effort to win it back, constant diving, moaning, poor attitude, lying to the manager, damaging his clubs reputation and refusing to pass when he has a 1% chance of scoring himself. I have no idea why this guy is worshipped by supporters.

Why is it a taboo to say anything bad about KD. I agree in the past he was great. But that was the past, he is pulling us down and some fans cant see that. They would rather follow KD to the end than look at what we have become.
They say look at where we where last year, but wil willy wonker (woy) i didnt expect any think better.
I say look at where we where under Raffa, beating Real, Beating Man u, in the CL and easy in the top 4.
Now we are just nobodys, we thinking wiknning the carling cup is a good thing. Christ i used to mock low teams for winning this and thinking it was good. Top teams used to put the B team out for this cup.
We need a change beacuse under KD the gap from us to the top 4 is getting bigger.
I am not a fan that thinks top 4 is good. It should be the least that we expect we should be pushing for the league. If people think Carol, Downing and co will come good then you will have a long wait.
But hey rome was built in a day hey? well we have been waiting 20 years so far. The closet we have come was under Raffa and on paper out current squad is light years away from what we had then.
Time for change i think

10 Mar 2012 22:15:52
Maybe if we start carroll cm he might run outta position and maybe even end up in the oppositions box

10 Mar 2012 22:15:22
The way Newcastle and Everton playing be worried Liverpool. I don't think with this spirit Liverpool can beat them . The situation is not helping Kenny. guys who support him just be honest and say if any other manager in Kenny's place now do you still support him ? just Be Honest when answer.

10 Mar 2012 22:12:53
here's another one slating the team. and why shouldn't we? we pay these guys with our tickets, jerseys, memberships, membership waiting lists. yet they play like a top 15 team, week in, week out. i'm annoyed by other supports who say we have to support everyone in a red jersey, its just wrong. do we have to cheer people playing for one point or less every week, who live fancy from our money? how many 'stand behind kenny'- fans stood behind konchesky?
kenny out, there, I said it.

10 Mar 2012 22:11:27
liverpool could be set to see the return of benitez if he dosnt get the chelsea job and kk is sacked... with some money he could do well

10 Mar 2012 22:06:44
The part of this I find most worrisome is I'm starting to actually dread watching games rather than looking forward to it. Fickle, maybe, but it's true. Trying hard to remain positive and optimistic, but think Tuesday will be another tough one and it's not beyond the realm of possibility that we don't win it.

Something has to change- don't know if it's bringing in the youngsters, trying people in different places (e.g. Gerrard to the right, Bellamy and Suarez up top, etc), better training or just a good old fashioned boot to the rear, but if this keeps on we'll be doing well to finish in the top half of the table. I have to believe the players and staff aren't happy either which is why I'm a little at a loss to explain what appeared to be a complete lack of passion today.

RDL

10 Mar 2012 22:06:11
Sorry to sound so negative but you can't help being fearful for the future, based on form we will struggle to win the next two games(love to be proved wrong). God forbid we should lose both to everton and stoke then the pressure will really build on kenny.

when he returned I really hoped he would never have to suffer that pressure again after everything he has done for the club.
Should the player continue to let the manager down, I am worried kenny could leave, who is there who could take Liverpool on should the worse happen?
Not AVB I hope.

There are plenty of managers who deserve a chance. The guy at Bilbao, Klopp, Low, Lambert or Rogers in the EPL, etc, etc.

Did Man U go for the safe option 25 years ago, or did they go for a young manager from Aberdeen?

10 Mar 2012 22:01:48
Anyone else think avb could do a job for us?
Also I think shelvey should be starting instead of Adam I don't know what has happened to Adam but he was twice the player he is now at Blackpool

Mat lfc

Most of the players we have recruited were far better players at their previous clubs. We have not improved a single player we have brought in. Most have gone backwards at an alarming rate.

We are back to square 1

Over a year ago we were all chanting "Yonks Out!".

The Yonks went we got new Yonks and convince ourselves that the new owners with limited financial resources will be our saviours "cause their clever liberal New England types". Their still cold uninterested business men without the bank balance to right all our wrongs.

Roy didnt get the results his signings were cheap and poor quality.

Now Kenny cant get the results and his signings were expensive and low quality.

Tom Werner and John Henry tell us they are new to "soccer" and still learning,WELL WHY BE SO BLOODY ARROGANT TO BUY ONE OF THE WORLDS TOP CLUBS WHEN YOU DONT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OR FUNDS TO REBIULD IT! Cause like H&G they are gambling on making a profit.

We are now in a spiral of onending decline as a force in world football.

I cant help but wonder were we would be had David Moores decided to do proper background checks and sold to DIC.

DIC was the crossroads we are now owned by frugal YONKS trying to compete in an arena that is now all about money.

God help us.

Worst state than we are in now, as DIC suffered badly didn't they, if memory served me well?

Keith

Why are you having a go at the owners, they gave kenny 100 mil and he pissed it away on s**te, I wouldnt give kenny a tenner now.

Dic were recently forced to restructure 2.4 billion dollars of debt cos they're struggling to pay their bills.
Funny you consider that our owners are "cold uninterested business men" while you somehow think that Dubai International Capital is a knowledgeable group of football supporters.

Correct me if I'm wrong - but does Henry choose the players or the tactics? Did he make the players wear T-shirts, or keep missing the goal?

The Yonks have nothing do with our league fiasco this season.

There is a lot of truth in the original post, the only flaw in it is that DIC would have been better owners, we really needed bill gates or warren buffet.

Of course Kenny blew 120M on average players, y'all know that!

Henry is not in the super rich list, google it people only worth slightly more than 500M and while that's a lot of money he's poor compared to a sheik or oligarch and most of henry wealth is tied up in liver and the red socks, its not sitting in a bank account

We are in uncertain waters its just that people don't want to look at unpalatable issues.

Where is the money going to come from to rebuild the team when we also we need to rebuild the stadium this problem is perplexing.

Was Henry hoping for better with the money given to Kenny last summer
- you betcha

It would seem the future success of Liverpool will lie with the academy

Hope I am wrong.

Touched by Madness

If our academy players dont make the grade, the club is finished. All hope rests on suso, sterling n co.

Hey Eds
With not really much to play for now this season (other than FA cup), do you think some of the younger players i.e Suso, Morgan, Sterling will get a chance to gain some experiance by playing in the first team this season. In my opinion Morgan in particular is ready to take that step into the first team.

Cheers Jim {Ed002's Note - Perhaps a cameo or two.}

10 Mar 2012 21:43:55
Have it on good authority that, Kenny Dalglish will be sacked within weeks by Liverpool Football Club for not been able to finish 4th in the league and achieving the place in Champions League football. (Oh hang on! What's the date today? Ooops, I thought it's 10 May'12. Eds, you may hold onto the post till then as it will happen in 2 months time. Guaranteed.)

It will happen no chance of top 4, closer to Wigan than Man C

I dont think he will be sacked, the owners won't sack a manager who won our first trophy in 6 years plus a man who is a club legend. He has to step down in my opinion.

Owners will have no compunction in sacking Kenny if they feel they have to. They are not sentimental fools.

It all depends on who can be brought in, in my opinion.

10 Mar 2012 21:44:52
I dont no y people hate on henderson did u c the set up he gave suarez 1st tym touch iv sin him do it couple tymes this season shame the players who he set up havent finished or henderson have couple assists 2 his name the only thing that will calm me down now iz a 7 goal show from the players at everton cum on lads and sum1 please make a banner with KING RaFa hoping the owners will c it hahah STEMLOCC

AVB to be in charge for next season. He fits in with the FSG project

10 Mar 2012 21:31:48
We must all agree that the league season results wise has been very poor but performance wise has been good. Now I'm sure kk would admit he's not got everything right and not all his signings have been as successful as he would have liked but we all need to stick with him. You can't judge someone on one season, and the odd bad signing. We need to give him at least 2-3 seasons, then if things have not improved then questions need to be asked but not yet.

As frustrating as it is, we need to be patiant

Bilverstone

Actually I can't remember a game where the performance has been good in a game that we have won. The only really good performance I have seen was the 2nd leg v citeh that's it

10 Mar 2012 21:50:00
sunderland fan in peace, but your slating your team, but the fact is sunderland contained your players with hardwork. You can say how bad your players you brought in but can some of you give sunderland the credit they deserve, we outmatched you and outfought you end of. Henderson was one of your better players today, Carroll needs games, Suarez is a disgrace, the sooner you get rid of him the better it will be for your team, adam fouled players allgame, 6 fouls and no yellow for him? downing has been good lately for you, if you beat Everton next game I'm sure you lot will be happy again.

The fans and KK says do it the Liverpool way, well the Liverpool way of old was to play your strongest team in every game, it made getting in the team harder so those on the bench and reserves had to work a lot harder to try to get into the team and carry on working to stay there. If our squad is good enough a few injuries would make little difference, I agree with slight team rotation but to change a team so much for no reason is unacceptable. we are told the team is still settling in, but it's not a settled team with so many changes, players playing out of position what more could you expect. For goodness sake stop selecting players with an eye on the next match, play your strongest team on the day, worry about the next match after the game. I think our stall was set out at the beggining of the season with cups a priority. We are deffinately going backwards the CC was just lucky and without the cup it's the poorest team performance over 27 games for years yes we have been unlucky but at the end of the day just look at our goals tally. and you can't put it all down to the players...Bobbinred

No offence but we don't need your sympathy and by saying Suarez is a disgrace you have just destroyed your peace line!!

Sunderland were crap but we were worse.

Appreciate that you're coming in peace, but honestly think as poor as we were today (and we were very poor) Sunderland wasn't much better. Other than a bit of a freak goal for you, there wasn't much positive to say about either side.

RDL

Suarez is a disgrace because all he does is dive, he brings too much bad press to your club, sure he can score odd goals but after what he did to Ghana in the world cup it proved that he is a cheat, also the Evra situation doesn't help, better selling him and getting a better striker in to work with Carroll, I'm sure Carroll will come good for you though, sunderland were missing Sessegnon and Cattermole today, they the heart of our team and we had to bring in players to cover them but I thought it was a poor game but sunderland worked harder and got that bit of luck we needed to get the win. It's one result that didn't go your way.As I said if you beat your hated rivals Everton next you lot will be happy again for the meantime.

It could be worse mate , we could have to watch that bland crap O'Neill calls football week in week out. Same goes for Noddy Holder across the park. Rohypnol football, I rembember the ref blowing the whistle at the start and the next thing I was coming around in the dressing room and we'd lost 1-0 but I don't remember much in between.

10 Mar 2012 21:49:38
alrite lads arsenal fan here, just curious who has control over the transfers at your club, is it kenny or comolli?

No one knows tbh we can only imagen that commolli signed Suarez because he was linked before kenny toke over but Carroll henderson downing adam are all kennys no doubt i think commolli bought coates aswell. enrique am not to sure

Comolli shows Kenny a player and Kenny has the final say on if the player is good enough.

10 Mar 2012 21:46:21
Ahoy - nothing exciting to report and my opinions are being restained. only a few facts.

Bendtner is rubbish and looks like Ian Poulter, imagine two Arsenal linked over rated arrogant idiots gloating at us tonight - UUUUGGGGGHHHH.

Also its a good job Mr Beach Ball didn't play today it could have been 2 or more.

BOILED ONIONS

i just want to know who you guys would rather as manager if u had to pick 1?...
-hit agree if you would rather dalglish
-hit disagree if u would rather mourinho

Neither - Rafa for me

I would rather have Unai Emery, he could bring a certain Spanish striker with him ;)

Berry sXe

Why would Jose leave Real i want Joachim Low

10 Mar 2012 21:22:56
Another bad result and terrible performance tday.Kenny badly let down by some of his signings players he has shown great trust in.I realise attracting top european players was going to be difficult when we finish outside european places. However the british players we bought have not shown enough quality on a consistent basis.I dont think its a case of settling in some are just not upto it and i am sure kenny knows it too.Hopefully we can strengthen again in the summer fighting for top ten finish again next year doesnt thrill me.Yes we have won a cup this year just hope we can build on it next year.

10 Mar 2012 21:19:52
Kenny is a legend and I have always backed him since he took over but does anyone think the 'Kenny effect' is not there anymore? I admired his call today to play Coates over Carra and it worked because Coates did well.

Kenny's buys:

Henderson: If we had Lucas, Gerrard fit all season this lad wouldn't be featuring as much so I have some pity on the guy; has the tools to improve as a player.

Adam: Started well but my goodness, this lad has been terrible. Will leave in the summer IMO.

Downing: Started to play well lately and then today was dropped, I didn't get this decision by Kenny at all. Has been indifferent this season but expect he will get better for him.

Enrique: Although he has the odd mistake or two in his locker this signing has been a right success for Kenny and is my kind of full back.

Bellamy: Yet another good signing by Kenny who has been brilliant this season, pity he can't be picked consistently over his knees.

Coates: This looks another top signing for the future and could become a commanding defender in the premership for years to come.

Suarez: Beats a man, beats another then keeps his head down and shoots it into the crowd one sec and then he can make a bit of magic out of nothing the next, I like the player but I think he's been played wrong. I'd like to see him under a Benitez.

Carroll: Another player who I think is been played wrong - a Suarez/Carroll partnership could flourish under a O Neill or a Rafa but at the moment I think Kenny isn't getting the best out of them.

In summery, I honestly don't think Kenny will be Liverpool manager next season and it pains me to say that, really does. I always hoped Kenny would be the man to lift the league title at Anfield but if he leaves or gets the boot he can walk away with his head held very high!

Corkpoolred

Coates was terrible today and his previous two matches for Liverpool were not good either, these report cards that are over optimistic are getting really silly

Carroll is a major problem, he's crap.

10 Mar 2012 21:15:28
Hey people all I'm going to say is if any other manager was in charge of Liverpool people would and I know some are,are saying he should be sacked,my opinion is he's going in the summer and he knows it,for me he should of been a interim manager because I knew people if it didn't work out would be doing what they are doing now,the man is a legend and deserves to be treated like one, cheers pk

10 Mar 2012 20:59:14
I think we could buy cheap, premiership proven players from the lower teams of the division , and still perform to the same or better standard. This is the team I'd choose:

Reina
Kelly-Skrtel-Agger-Enrique
Gerrard-Lucas
Sessegnon-Suarez-Jarvis
Carroll/Fletcher

Other possibilities....
Sigurdsson
Dyer
Sinclair
Holt
Dempsey
Dembélé
Doyle
O'Hara
Larsson

Sess cheap? muppet

Dembele only one who is good enough out of list. Others apart from Dempsey are average premiership players at best. Dempsey good at Fulham but again not good enough for the Red shirt. We should be buying the best and only targeting the best or we will have year after year of performances like today. Adam falls into your category, of a player who showed a bit of form in premiership and the majority of fans on here suddenly wants him to join. They can't do it week in week out.
We have made strides in the last year but we now need to add real quality to the squad to challenge for the title.

Get off your scouse juice, noway will sunderland sell sessegnon or larsson! sess is worth 25m and larsson 15m, but like i said no chance and you consider sunderland a lower league team?? that so called lower league team has taken 4 points off you lot this season

It's all relative - everyone cheap compared to Carroll lol

The game has changed an enormous amount since the early 1990's. I want good memories of Kenny.
Everything moves on. Most things are part of the time they express themselves.
I don't know if Rafa returned, it would work. It is not 1990 or 2005.
It is 2012 !
A new broom is needed.

Have we all reached the place of Zen yet?

If not take in slow deep breaths in through the nose and let it out slowly through the mouth, repeat as required until normality returns

I have been saying for the last year that suarez has a box of tricks and does not score enough goals each time I have been told he's in the top 3 in the world or similar and that I am an idiot.

Slowly its coming home to roost
Suarez is not what we need

Our midfield apart from Gerrard is P*ss Poor

Kennys signing's apart from Enrique should go, the team is unbalanced an injury to one player can have an impact bigger than needs be on the team, For example although I am not a fan of Lucas its clear that his injury has left the team unbalanced in Midfield because we do not have another player capable of that role. We have no striker of note another probelm area. We have no creativity apart from Gerrard. In the last few weeks alone both Enrique and Reina have turned in average performances because there place is not under any threat and they can play how they like who is going to replace them?

A big probelm is that John Henry is not a rich man.
And we overspent on players who will be worth less than 50% of their purchase cost when the transfer window comes around this summer

And there lies part of the problem, getting rid of Keny & Commoli is not going to be cheap!

It will be expensive to sack Kenny and Commoli - no?

Wait just less than 2 weeks ago this site was full of undying love for Kenny, women wanted to have his offspring and men wanted to be like him. Downing had got better and Adam was not half bad, all Kenny's signings would be transformed just like the development of Lucas, Kenny would sprinkle the magic dust, they say a week is a long time in politics its even longer in football.

We don't need to sign 3 foreigners in the summer for all to be well, we need root and branch restructuring of the club, absent owners who have their minds on other things are rarely good.

We need money and lots of it another part of the problem to bring balance and competition to the team for places with quality players but where is it going to come from?

Papering over the cracks just does not work, are we all convinced of that yet?

Or does dreaming of Cavani, Soldado etc. cure all?

Our problems are deep our solutions need to match the problem!

Touched by madness

John Henry is on the billionaires list mate - not a rich man??? my a**!!!

Post of the week.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

I think he means John Henry dosent have much cash about its all tied in companies the companies he owns are worth the billions there not sitting in the bank

I blame our midfield, no one coming through on goal, no through balls, no clever chips over the top. no decent crosses, no goals, no creativity at all. no leadership on the field and it seems from the bench!!You need midfielders to chip in with afew goals when the strikers are not hitting the target. But perhaps our midfield are obeying orders from the bench....Bobbinred

That's a load of carp(original post). no money whatsoever needs to be spent on at least 8 positions and just playing bellamy in the league games in my eyes means 9 players .
reina
johnson skrtel agger enrique
lucas gerrard
suarez & bellamy.

the arrival of a goalscorer and a playmaker would change the whole dimension of the strongest 11 players at the club.
kenny is 14 months in and has the nucleus there. the arrival of a new manager would be stupidity at this current point as he would come in, spend the money that kenny would have got and took his glory.
14 months isn't long enough to create an unbeatable team and a NET SPEND of 38million(which is what kenny has really spent) in this current financial climate within football makes it is nigh on impossible up against sheiks and oil barons. even real madrid gave mourinho a 2nd 'full' season because they accepted his philosophy and project took time, not a season!
everyone seems to have complained about the club buying english but the premier league quotas had to be met which left the choice restricted to a degree when the clear out happened in the summer as i remember rightly. this is all just part of an evolution that we had to go through, the europa league has been secured, surely the player scope for next season can be widened as we already have the quota for homegrown players. no one can doubt that the arrival of a proven right winger, a quality playmaker and a fox in the box wouldn't complete the squad and that's before we even begin to mention up and coming youth talent on the horizon. these arrivals in turn would give kenny the opportunity to then be able to pick and choose when he plays henderson, adam, downing and carroll rather than be forced to play them out of position in certain cases (hederson RM, adam DM). having these 3 players with quality arriving would in turn raise the bar for the rest of the squad to have to improve to get in.

at the end of the season kenny and the owners will talk, what will he and damien tell them? that we need 2/3 international quality players. what will a 'new' manager tell the owners? that we need 2/3 international quality players. the only difference is that we will have to pay kenny and probably his whole back room staff a massive pay off to employ someone who will tell the owners the same thing!

the dilemma is really with the owners as to whether they want to invest for success......

John Henry is not a billionnaire

Personal wealth 540 million and most of that is tied up in liverpool and Boston red socks

Would love to wake up tomorrow and see "Dalglish walks" on bbc.

He's dragging us down. Putting bricks on the sinking ship.

Get a new manager in - give him 6-7 of the remaining 11 in charge, some funds and a full pre-season under his belt, and we'll be rearing to go. Up for the fight.

Or

Give Dalglish another season, to sign more rubbish, excercise his inept tactics and give us another season of boring, predictable, incapable long-ball defensive football!

10 Mar 2012 20:51:55
The players we have are obviously not good enough to be up for every game. They obviously had one eye on Tuesday's derby game and thought that would be the one they save their energy for. I know it's not going to happen but I'd accept playing none of them and let the younsters take Everton on. After all, the result is meaningless now, apart from local pride.

In the second half of last season, Kenny had the team playing with freedom, movement all over the pitch, high tempo with players flooding forward. Now he seems to be almost Hodgsonesque in his approach, too fearful of losing.

The attacking play now consists almost entirely of a player trying to do a one-two on the edge of the box. They never work, as the return pass is usually flicked up in the air, to be snuffed out by the defence. We don't have a single player who can beat a man convincingly and commit the opposing defence. Suarez can, but wants to do it all by himself and runs into blind alleys.

Despite the frustration, I still think Kenny deserves on more season, with some money to spend. After that, I really think he should stand down to be replaced by Rafa. Yes, I know Rafa lost the plot in his final season but I feel he was just ground down by the situation in the Club with the cowboys in charge. Also, he had little backing in the transfer market for almost 3 seasons. Some of his buys were dubious, mainly because he had to settle for 3rd or 4th choices, paid for by selling other players, because of Hicks and Gillet.

However, Rafa knows a world class player when he sees one, even before their talent has become obvious to anyone else. I feel he would succeed if he was working under supportive owners who backed him. Some say he was negative. I don't agree. Who can forget the 4 goal defeat of Real Madrid, the 4 - 1 mauling of the Scum at Old Trafford, the glorious victory over Marsellie, to name but a few. Also, don't forget, we finished 2nd with a points total that would have won it most other seasons. Two champions League finals, with one won. This probably would have been 3 if Riise had a right foot. Looking back, that was a phenominal record for a club in our situation. It wasn't that long before Rafa came that I used to watch Champions League games on a wednesday night, wishing we were in it. Rafa enabled us to sing 'We've won it 5 times' and it could easily have been 7. Now we're back to wishing we were in it.

Finally, the future of the club lies in the emergence of the many excellent Academy players. This is the Academy that was revolutionised by Rafa and many of the players we will see were brought there during his reign. Rafa is made for Liverpool he still lives in the area and loves the club. He should be allowed back to reap the fruits of the seeds he planted when he overhauled the Academy. With NESV in charge, I'm convinced he will succeed. Kenny is one of the best man managers around but tactically, he is not at the same level as Rafa.

At the end of next season, with probably a couple of pieces of silverware in the trophy room, Kenny can step down with his dignity intact and leave it to Rafa to get us back amongst the Big Boys.

redmersey

Didn't rafa finish 7th in his last season with a squad that included reina johnson carragher agger skrtel kelly lucas mascherano gerrard torres kuyt benayoun babel aquilani and riera. i say this as i've looked at the squad photo so i'm pretty sure.
rafa couldn't get the best out of those players in the end, ran out of ideas and plan b's. what makes anyone think he could do any different now in a league that is even stronger from top to bottom. i certainly don't looking at those names he had!

Never go back it doesnt work

Look at Kenny ... his fans love is not working for him and his legendary status has now diminished. I just hope he wins the FA Cup and then steps down just to regain his status

I guess all the awful fans are out tonight! I suppose if we win the derby next, everyone will be singing superlatives about Kenny and the team and how much they want him to stay for many more years. Support the team, there's always highs and lows and remember we're re-building, nothing happens straight away. Anyway, continue to harp on about how the players and staff are a disgrace...

Alex

We're rebuilding?

Rafa started the building, now it's being torn apart.

Keep fooling yourself..............it is because of fans like you that the team is not progressing. keep living in dreamland; the ship has left the shore. kenny has lost the plot totally. what did he achieve in newcastle and celtic?

Because Torres had been wanting to leave for years? Because Mascherano didn't want to play for Liverpool? Because Rafa turfed out Xabi Alonso, one of our most consistent and best performers in the hope of getting Barry, who chose City? We had to re-build when Rafa left, yes he was a good manager but he messed some things up a lot. Un-named Poster 2#: Fans like me? Fans like me, who get behind the team and takes the loss on the chin and awaits the next match? The team is progressing, this year we won a trophy, still in a run for a second trophy and already achieved Europa football for next season? Surely that's more progression than last season? You're awful supporters the both of you...

Alex

Winning a cup is not progress. Ask Birmingham or Portsmouth.

And fans have had little or nothing to do with the situation we find ourselves in now. Fans were not responsible for the Evra debacle, or the awful signings, or the poor tactics. Cheering ourselves hoarse will not turn Carroll into Ibrahimovic. Similarly, demanding the sack will not necessarily help much either.

The people who disagreed with "Fickle"Fan are absolute morons.

So no-one can criticize the manager and team?

Then how do we progress?

Erm what positives have you from today, my tally is at 0 as are most peoples

All i meant is after a good nights sleep people might reflect on the game a bit differently and think to themselves that they might have been a tad too quick airing their opinions without calming down first. we've all said things in anger and thought "oh s**t i shouldn't have said that." the next morning after an argument. so just chill out mate, oh and by the way if your a supporter like me, then support the team and let them worry about winning and success. after all it's their jobs to not ours

I havent posted in a long time but feel i need to
I love liverpool fc passionately but lately feel all hope is lost, when ever we are in front of goal i actually expect us not to score, when we have a penalty 80percent of me knows it will not go in (unless its stevie).
The team currently is absolutely shambolic, suarez too, for me he hasnt been brilliant, he is a 20million pound striker who doesnt score. we need a clinical proven goal scorer

you know its bad times when a supporter asks the ed if there is interest in a certain player and the eds response is ( there has been interest from tottenham-city-arsenal-chelsea-utd) almost completely ruling liverpool out of the equation, Players used to thrive and dream about playing for us what the hell happend

we miss torres, even at his worst (for us) he still had the ability to change a game with that bit of genius. just like RVP did the other day in the arsenal game.

i love the king though and if i had the opportunity to play for him i would puncture a lung every single game, it seems like our players dont even want to know.

GUTTED
LTP THE RED

Torres is awful.

Agree about the striker part but not the current torres, we got rid at the right time. rvp is something else though.

I bet anything that if Torres would play for us in the remaining games he would have at least 6-10 goals by the end of the season
He thrived on the club and everyone knows it he will not score until he puts on that atletico or Liverpool shirt

We miss torres like we miss Robbie Fowler. It would be great to have either of them back at their peak, but their time has gone. Move on.

Everyone saying 'sign Llorente' are morans. Llorente signed a new contract with Bilbao, and Guillem Balague believes he'll stay there for many years AND why sign Llorente when we have Carroll? Not that Carroll been playing well but we won't sign a similar striker. Also, I'm sure we're not on his priority list

10 Mar 2012 20:12:05
Home from the match, and it was bitterly disappointing. Suarez should never be the lone striker, it doesn't suit him, however good he is. Adam needs a spell on the bench, he is gradually getting worse as the season goes on. Skrtel was superb again, he's became one of our most key players. The way some of you are talking about Kenny is disgusting, you should be ashamed of yourselves. The man is the best player we have ever had, and will forever be a legend. Wheather you think he's doing a good job or not, you can't talk about him the way some of you are. Red Indian, do you even support LFC? The way you have talked about Kenny makes me sick, by all means express your opinion on Kenny, he will know results haven't been good enough and will have lots to answer for to the owners, however some of the things you have said are disgusting. I feel sorry for the Eds if some of these have come through, God knows what you have had to cut.

Gerrard is our best player ever

10 Mar 2012 20:10:44
I personally think the team would be better with Gerrard out on the right... I know he's earned the right to be in the middle, but it's all about balance and we need some quality coming in from the right... he's the only one in the team who can provide it.

10 Mar 2012 20:10:40
11 games to go and we are as close to the relegation zone as we are the top!

Major investment required, but seriously why would the owners give Kenny another transfer pot in the summer, because his signings, generally speaking, have been atrocious.

Will keep supporting whoever is in charge or on the pitch but it is getting harder and harder.

The Jackal.

10 Mar 2012 20:04:11
What a pathetic performance.
It seems to me that the players believe they have achieved something this season by winning a cup, sadly however good it was to win a trophy again it is not enough and not acceptable to settle for it.
We are so far behind the top teams and now we are getting caught by the lesser ones,we really could end up mid table and for what we have spent it would be disgraceful.
Now 4th place has gone its time to try out a couple of the young players and see how they play in reality they cant do any worse and may just show a bit more spirit and adventure and not bore us to death.
Sadly after over 35 years following home and away I am now getting bored and not getting the entertainment that should be provided.I will not stop following my team, its in my blood, but we need a shake up otherwise only mediocrity awaits us.

Theres a man who's won la liga,s been to umpteen euro finals ,very nearly won prem league , super cups .whos free loves Liverpool and it's unique sence of pride . Who rejected real Madrid , put his own job on the line by exposing our previous owners for being assit strippers ! Who through all that still loves and lives in the area !! Gave money for the 96 ! Plus I'll tell u why the fergie lead media was so anti of him !! The one manager who had fergie running for the hills ! He could see something big happening at anfield! Then we got h.g anti media rubbish ! So thanks kenny for being a steadying hand but it's time for rafa to return ! The look on fergies face has got to be worth it alone !!
Old whiskey breath vs rafas warriors !! It's got a ring to it!

Cant tell you how much i agree with this post rafa should never had gone he was succesfull with liverpool and if he had 100 mil you could garantee we would be alot better off then we are now pls everyone get behind this because in rafa we trust

I love Kenny as a player, legend and motivational force but Rafa is a better manager. I was gutted when he left and always hoped he'd return. You never know...

Rafa ws at LFC for near 6 years, tell us how successful he was?

Yes but 2 years was with h.g and when he saw what they was doing he was fighting on our behalf to stop them asset stripping our club !! Yes he made mistakes !! 2 years we was the most feared in Europe ! Barca , real , man u , Chelsea arsenal and the millans sat there on euro draws dreading getting Liverpool fc !! Old whiskey breath was so jealous !!

How about 2 Champions League finals, with one never-to-be-forgotten victory. We were a slice off Riise's ginger nuggett away from a third. Add an FA Cup win to that too. Oh, and we'd give anything for 2nd place now. Rafa achieved that with a points total that would have won it most sesaons. I'd call that success, it was certainly much better than what we are witnessing now,

redmersey

How successful was Rafa in 6 years???.........let me see.........
Won the Champions league once.
Got to another champions league final.
Won the FA Cup.
Won the Super Cup.
Qualified for the Champions league every year apart from his last when H&G had forced the money out so the better players had to be sold.
He finished 2 in the league with a record points total for LFC and a total that would have won the league nearly every other season.
Has a brilliant reputation in europe so attracted the best players even though maybe LFC weren't in that bracket.
Do you want me to go on?????

He's available now without compensation.
Loves LFC.
Is a great tactician.
Can attract quality players.
Do you want me to go on????

Moran!
He won Champions League,F.A Cup and got us to 2nd in League, and really never had a great team.
What have we got now a Carling Cup and a not very good team, and its cost a fortune.

Derek

During the period he was at Anfield he was the joint second most succesful manager in the Prem and the most succesful Prem manager in Europe. That answer your question?

Not to mention he also got us to the No.1 ranked team in europe!!

Dalglish told his post-match press conference: "I don't think it was much of a game. It was always going to be a bit of good fortune, rather than a bit of brilliance, that won it.

"I think we matched all the attributes Sunderland have. They've been on a good run, but I don't think there was much in the game other than the bit of luck that decided it.

"It never happened for anyone. It wasn't much of a game. It was a bit of luck that decided the difference between a draw and a victory - and Sunderland got the good fortune."

The game was played in blustery conditions in the north east, but Dalglish insisted the weather had no influence on the outcome when asked by journalists if the wind had played a part in his side's defeat.

He said: "It was the same for both teams. The wind is always a problem - it's the worst conditions to play in for football, but everyone was playing it.

"It spoils the spectacle more than affecting one team or the other. I don't think either team would say the wind was paramount in the performances, but I think it does affect the quality of the game."

The result means Liverpool remain 10 points behind fourth-place Arsenal, who play Newcastle United at the Emirates on Monday night.

However, with 11 matches still to play for his side in the Barclays Premier League, Dalglish remained adamant no-one within the Reds camp would be giving up in the chase for Champions League football as they look to add to their Carling Cup success.

The boss said: "We'll say what we said after the very first game of the season - we'll play all the matches, count the points up and see where we finish up.

"If we were to get fourth spot it would be fantastic for the football club, but winning the Carling Cup was fantastic and getting into the sixth round of the FA Cup is more than where we've been for a little while.

"I don't think the performances we've had, especially at home, merit the number of points we've got. We just need to keep going, do what we do well, keep our mouths shut, not feel sorry for ourselves and try to get as many points on the board as we can.

"It's a great credit to the seven new lads who have come in to have put something (Carling Cup) on the board in their first season. There are not many places with that many changes that get success like that.

"Although we lost today, I thought we matched them and then when we went behind I thought it was a good reaction from everyone to try and rescue something from the game.

From this I make 1 thing kenny thinks that way we were having last season this season a cup makes all things good. But what he must be reminded that last 2 seasons were blot on our great club we were fighting a battle off the pitch and it affected on pitch performance.
He need to be reminded not so long back we were number 1 in europe and we beat likes of milan, madrid, barcelona at their turf.
Kenny has had great support from owners financially which in recent past no manager has had.
Legend card will only play for so long..

Red indian

The level of contradictory from you is unbelievable. Your opinion is borderline worthless, you have absolutely no idea of the schematics of what makes a football club succesful. Yes, valid we were a force to be reckoned with 2 years ago, but 10 years ago so were leeds,20 nottingham, previous success of a club should be no indication of what levels to attain, our club was in a hole, it doesnt just click overnight, a bad mentality can take years to ammend. Ever heard the expression "the bigger they are, the harder they fall" ? Well we fell big time, from the podium, and we are slowly building up. Your never positive red indian and to be honest our club doesnt need fans like you or with the same quick fix get rich mentality which is so fraught with issues i cant even be bothered to waste my time explaining to someone so myopic as yourself.

Sad to see a once great team in decline.
Get rid of Dalglish before it gets any worse.
Martin O Neil changed the fortunes of Sunderland after Bruce.
Big mistake giving him the job in the first place.
Being a fans hero, does not make him a good manager.

I think KK was the right appointment at the time to come in and unite the club and get us moving in the right direction again.

We now need Rafa back or someone young like Guardiola, Low, AVB

10 Mar 2012 19:52:13
I don't see the problem lies with our defenders and goalkeeper it's apparent that we lack creative players and natural goal scorers.

We have replaced players such as Alonso, Masherano, Garcia, and Torres who terrorised teams not only in the league but also across Europe, and replaced these with Adam, Henderson, Downing and Carroll.

It's not rocket science we are still have the weakest squad of players compared to the likes of City, Utd, Spurs, Arsenal, and Chelsea.

I think realistically for people to believe we were going to finish in the top 4 with the squad we have are being unrealistic. Yes the owners would have wanted CL football next season after spending well over 100 million on players but at the same time they sanctioned the sales of Torres, Babel, Meireles, recouping the best part of 70 million.

The owners then decided not to invest in the January transfer market when it was clear to see we lack a natural goal scorer and an attacking midfielder especially knowing we have a injury prone Stevie.G and a miss firing Carroll.

I think this shows a lack of confidence from the owners in KD's transfers, and a lack of ambition. I always thought this season would be a settling in and steadying of the club after all what had gone on in the previous season for the owners.

I think come the end of the season the owners will accept that we have won a cup but also understand that it's then the time to push on. If the club are to put up a serious challenge then they will install a new manager to take us forward. The owners will appoint a high profile manager and invest in better players than we currently have...

The Grand wizard...

It's not the players it's the way we play, pass and move is only successfull if it's done quickly with players getting forward in numbers. Barcelona showed us how it's done, slow possesional build up but quicken the pace in the opponants half with 4 or more player in attack, our tactics are wrong and don't suite many of the players, that's why they look a complete miss match in the final third, no one seems to be able to suss out what their team mates are going to do. They just don't play as a team in the final third....Bobbinred

10 Mar 2012 19:51:09
What we need is 2 wingers and a killerstrike or a goalmachine , and to sell these player and to resign with Kenny I know he is a hero but no a world class coach so we need Benitez or Capello . Out: Kuyt , Maxi , Aurelio , Joe Cole , Aqulian , Darby . In: McClean , Cavani or Falcao , Erikssen . Then bring up in first team Sterling , Suso , Teixeira and Morgan

No chance of getting McClean, heard arsenal fans say the same thing after we beat them 2-0 in the cup. McClean is a mackem

10 Mar 2012 19:48:17
I see the fickles and doom mongers are out in force today but at least they could construct there criticism. Ok not a great performance today we just lacked that spark we had last saturday which was a brilliant performance against Arsenal.

I think that we maybe over achieved last season considering the squad we had but that was thanks to King Kenny and saving us from a relegation fight which we looked like when untill he took over.

Constant success is achieved over a long period of time not one season. Its going to take longer than maybe we all thought to get back to the top but can be achieved if we all stick together.

Whether the doom mongers like it or not King Kenny has delivered us a trophy this season and we are still in with a shout in another. This is is two competitions out of three we are in this season not a bad record. I understand that the league is the bread and butter but that takes a long time especially when he took over relegation was a possibility.

So king kenny has done a brillant job so far and i know we have the right man in charge but come on guys please construct your criticism.

Mighty reds

Can you honestly say he has invested the transfer kitty wisely? I cringed with each new summer signing bar Bellamey. I am no manager or scout but even I could see we were making massive mistake after massive mistake.

When Roy Hodgson has same level of results he was hounded out. 2 wins from 11 is a disgrace

10 Mar 2012 19:40:26
Kenny out ! His appointment had an initial lift for the players, but the poor buys & league position suggest we haven't moved on from last season. He has to take responsibility & stop treating Liverpool fans like idiots in his press conferences & post match interviews. Its ok to say he hasn't spent a lot "net" but he has wasted the money on flops. We've turned into a team in the 2nd tier in the premier league along with Everton, villa, stoke.... Its a joke! Why won't Liverpool fans voice their opinions?

No ones interested in your manc opinions. Kenny can see the problems as well as we can.
ND

Manc opinions?! I'm just being a realist. Kenny obviously can't see the problems because he's sticking with the likes of Henderson who hasn't done jack all season. Why would the owners give him more money to waste on sub standard players who aren't fit to wear the shirt? I would still like to think we can attract better players than the names I mentioned above. I don't care about nationalitie, I just want quality!

If we ever win a game again???please stop jumping on everyone's web page because we always end up with egg in our faces when we lose the next game to so called lesser opistion ,yes we won the tin cup but we didn't win it convincingly in fact we deserved to lose,as for kenny he should leave now before he gets the boot followed by Adam,Henderson,Downing, kuyt, spearing, give carroll one more season.if this is what the players are offering after today's performance then I am going back to watching paint dry.

I love it how the fickles are out in there force today at least they could do is construct there criticism. Ok we lacked a bit of spark today compared to last sat where we were brilliant against Arsenal.

I believe we probably over achieved last season in our league position which was thanks to King Kenny. I dont think we actually knew how bad our squad was and unfortunately its going to take longer than we think to get back to the top. People need to realise there is no quick fix in football.

Success over a long time is achieved by sticking together

Normally wait a day or two after a loss and post and always look for the positives, however we are fast becoming a joke and trying to blame everything except Kenny...

I am not a manager by any means, but i go up all the time and can see what Kenny can see, so my question is,(not all based on today)
how is Charlie Adam still getting in this team?
after every game Jordan Henderson plays well as a CM why does he get shifted back out?
Why do we not put any side under pressure when they have the ball?

Apart from this tactics are very questionable every game, everyone watching the game knows when we need to change things, yet subs do not come...

People also keep saying we are a new team it takes more than a year to gel e.t.c
We signed 5 "first team" players in the summer
Arsenal signed 6 and had a disgraceful start to the season, yet they are getting away from us...

Chelsea are almost a joke this season yet they are getting away from us...

Sunderland had a awful start to the season, but with the same players MON has got them playing well and are 2 points behind us!

Newcastle are 5 points clear of us!!

We are 6 points off Swansea in 15th position and 27 points off Man City!

There has been games where we have been unlucky this season but we can not keep saying "if we didn't hit the bar" or "if we scored them penaltys" because we did hit the bar and we did miss them penaltys, other teams hit the post and miss penaltys too.

I thought this season with what happened to Arsenal at the start of the season and the way Chelsea were playing was our best chance to get fourth, we know full well UTD, Chelsea, Arsenal, City, will all improve in the summer.

I'm not saying i want Kenny sacked now, but what i will say is i am pretty sure if Roy or Rafa had spent this money, won 2 out of the last 11 games, a lot of us would not be so patient.

Arsenal lost in the final and went on an awful run as well so its a no win situation really really....

you lose in the final and your doomed, or you win and your doomed

I don't agree with the posts about getting kenny out right now, we arnt Chelsea. A knee-jerk reaction shouldnt happen at our club. Kenny should be given at least till the end of the season and see where we finish, even though its not looking good when we could be going into our next game, 13 points away from fourth with 11 games remaining.

I think the main reason we are in this position is due to us not having much balance in the centre of the midfield, we are badly missing Lucas, we need quality cover for him. Even though Spero is a battler, he isnt up to the standard we need, though he is a adequate squad player, i think in the summer we need a few outs, with a right winger defensive minded centre mid and maybe a striker.

Also us fans should support our players, especially the likes of Carroll, Henderson, Downing and Adam. They should be given another season to prove themselves if they don't step up by then we should get rid at the end of it.

Kenny may be King just like Shearer at Newcastle.
That doesnt make them good managers.
In fact I think it6b raises fans expectations too far on their ability.
Time for Kenny to go.
Leave it till the end for what reason?
Get someone new in now and put this season behind.

Kenny, unlike Shearer, has won some trophies as a manager...

Hang on wasn't he player manager when we won the double in 1986?

Lads, been searching for some light, to cure my dark mood...

Found this on the LFC Discussion Website:(bit long-but perspective)

I think everyone was a little disillusioned between the end of last season (where we had come from 12th to finish in 6th) and the January transfer window...including myself. I honestly expected us to pick up where we had left off, winning games by scoring 3+ goals etc. I don't think anyone expected City, Utd or Spurs to do as well as they have done in the league, looking at how last season ended, which has left us with Arsenal and Chelsea to battle for 4th spot. I must admit, Downing and Adam seemed to play much better for their previous clubs than for us. Adam has had points this season where he has been fantastic, but what worries me the most is how much of a liability he can be. The number of careless, clumsy tackles he makes is mind blowing!

Our summer transfers may not be what we as supporters had hoped for - but at the time we were a 6th place team, who hadn't won a trophy in 6 years. I don't think it was through lack of trying that we didn't get the played we wanted - if a player wants CL football, how can we compete against the teams like City, Chelsea, Utd etc? Looking at how we have been playing we have improved dramatically since last season. I think we have only had 3 or 4 really bad games this season, other than that we have dominated and created many, many chances. Realistically we should have won all of our games this season, except Spurs away, City away and Bolton away, if we had we'd be challenging for the title. I know that games are not won based on who deserves to win, and that our current position is not good enough, but KD had a long term plan. Even City, with their millions have taken 4 years to build a squad that can challenge for the title! Just say that half of our attempts on goal had gone in, we'd all be singing the praises of Dalglish. We have had a serious problem with finishing this season - and thats an understatement, but the way we have dominated other sides has been impressive. If KD somehow managed to work his magic and sort this (huge) issue out, we'd be flying! It seems to me to be in the minds of the players. We have done superbly in the cups this season, where the pressure has been on to win due to the knock out nature of the competitions, and also against the teams higher up in the table. This brings me onto the Carling Cup...I think the siginificance of winning it means more than the actual prize. We have ended our 6 year drought, which is huge for LFC! This is an achievement for KD in itself.

Other than this, KD has achieved much for LFC, despite our table position.

1) He has sorted our (now solid) defence
2) The players seem genuinely happy
3) He has us keeping possession, and passing well and creating opportunities
4) He has created a belief amongst the players

I too am disappointed with our table position, but I feel we were maybe being a little too optimistic when we expected it all to happen at once. If we finish in 6th, and I am confident we wont finish any lower, then our season has improved over last year, and we're still in the FA Cup. I know the owners and management were aiming for 4th spot, but goals aside we have been playing like a title challenging team - end product is one issue to resolve, but pretty big in terms of success, but it's not like we will need a complete squad overhaul.

I know when looking at our table position it's tempting to shout the odds about KD, and only see the negatives, but there is so much he has done for the club over the last year as well. We all knew in our hearts it wasn't going to happen in one season, we could still make a comeback yet, and we still have the FA Cup to play for, don't lose faith just yet - you know we always do things the hard way!

Lee YNWA

"If kenny somehow works his magic" thats not a tactic thats just you being blinded by the past.

Kenny will always be my hero no matter what but it's just not working. If it was anyone other than Kenny in charge, on league form they would have been sacked no question. I didn't expect to win the league but I did expect to at least challenge for fourth place which is now long gone and that's with arsenal and chelsea being poor most of the season. I honestly believe the owners will not accept finishing 6th at best and it wouldn't surprise me if he is replaced at the end of the season.

anyone else hoping that kenny calls it a day at the end of the season
woeful performance (again)
not one of his signings (100m) worth are fit to wear red (bellamy apart but he was free)
and the season is under the shadow of a very fortunate carling cup
it seems that 90 percent of the squad think its a job well done winning the carling cup but as a liverpool fanatic for 30 years i for one wont be patting the team on their back for their carling cup success.
we have not progressed on last season we seem to be bobbing up and down in the water.
would love to see martinez in CM and llorente CF and MUNNAIN RW/LW out ADAM/CARROLL/KUYT

I would like to see how much Bilbao will ask for llorente, munian and martinez....? {Ed002's Note - about £100M if they were to sell.}

The irony, straight swap for Carroll, Suarez, Enrique, Adam & Downing? I'm more for quality than quantity! Bet we wouldn't b staring 7th place finish in the face with those boys on board!

just reading these comments saying kenny out and all this s***e , you should be ashamed of yourselves ! dont you get what this man what this man has done for us , this a long term project and king kenny is the perfect man to do it : look atthe state we was in before kenny took over ! and now in his first season ,we have won our first piece of silverware in 6 years and got europe back at anfield ; kenny is doing a great club and brought a buss around the club for a long time ! so all you fans who dont back him , just sit at home on your computer thinking you know what the club is about : but quite frankly you dont ! rant over ! hoope you proper supporters agree with me ! DALGLISH !

PRICEY

I know just look what we had before kenny! under raffa we only had CL football, 2 place, world class players. Thank god them days are gone eh?

I agree - long may the king reign lol

I said much the same thing further down and got slated for it, some of these players have only played about 45 games together and now people are even saying The Carling Cup is in the past, these people are too fickle to be fans, we can all see what is and was isn't working but they can write a 10 page essay about it but KD is not going to change his tactics for them.
KernowRed

I agree mate I like all supporters today was absolute gutted but it was a bad day at the office no excuses! but gettin rid of king kenny is not the way to go after all we are playing really good football 95 % of the time and a few more buys in the summer (we all know what position we need to strengthen) and we will get top 4. And a win next Sunday will see us back at wembley again this season and how long has it been since we said that

Dalglish should not be spared the fans anger because he is a club legend. He will always be a legend at Anfield and always loved but right now he is the manager and he is performing badly. How long do we rely on sentiment to carry us? No manager who is under performing should be immune to criticism. Today was nowhere near good enough. This entire season has not been good enough. We have not won more than 2 league games consecutively - that is not good enough. We are not doing much worse than we were under Hodgson and this is on top of significant outlay this past summer. Again, not good enough. I cannot say whether or not we should sack Kenny because ultimately I don't know but between the constant snide interviews he gives, the lack of man management combined with no tactical sharpness I really do fear the worst for us.

Would also like to send a message out to the older supporters: I know the 80's was a golden era for our club and I know you's all watched Kenny play wonderful football but this constant harking back to the good old days, this sentimentality that seems to burden the club rather than help it, needs to be dropped. It's fine to talk about our history but it should not be used as a barometer by which all players and successes now are measured. If I see one more comment about 'Paisley would have done this' or 'Shankly would have done that' I will tear me hair out. The year is 2012 - times have changed, the club has changed and football as a whole has changed. If we continue to live in the past (and be dragged into the past at every opportunity by these neanderthals) then we will never achieve the success we all crave. Having a history is great but referencing it at every opportunity only burdens the club, how can we move forward if fans are all stuck in the 1980's??

SMc

Absolutely spot on.....well said !

I supported LFC through the 80's and someone once said to me 'It's easy supporting Liverpool isn't it?' to which I replied 'No we lose like every one else at times' but I'm not one of those Neanderthals that harp on about the past but just cherish those times and we do need to look forward. Getting rid of players that haven't really played long enough together will keep us in the past because we will always be in training mode. It will never be easy supporting any team because if your having a good day someone is having a bad one and today is our turn to have a bad one.

Just a lil bit of what Kenny said,

It's a great credit to the seven new lads who have come in to have put something (Carling Cup) on the board in their first season. There are not many places with that many changes that get success like that.

"Although we lost today, I thought we matched them and then when we went behind I thought it was a good reaction from everyone to try and rescue something from the game."

We dont care about the Carling cup it's the past!

And was he watching the same game as me?

hi guys great website. months ago we said that we were going to thrash a team 5-0 or 6-0. ??? well we can't even score one goal. what a rubbish team we have. why on earth did we not get a striker?. apart from suarez and bellamy, there is no one who will score goals. 35 million for carroll, 20 million for downing, 20 million for henderson. £75 million for those three players. we could have spent that on better players for less than £10 million each. kuyt, adam, spearing are also crap. give maxi a chance, he will score goals. there has got to be a clear out this summer because this team is no where near a top 4 team. also kenny has got the starting eleven wrong again. i want rafa back. i know that there were some problems when he was in charge but, look at what he did for us and what players he bought. also we kept winning games and should have won the premier league title at the 2008/09 season. also he won us the champions league. what do u guys think?. thanks and ynwa.

Spineless , clueless , mid-table flops . Now we can see why Dalglish wasn't allowed to spend any money in January .

I was worried when I heard the extent of Comolli's ambition this week - to have a '' competitive '' squad .

Now I have just listened to Dalglish say that we matched Sunderland and lost to a piece of bad luck .

When did matching Sunderland become a worthwhile achievement ? Kenny , you were told by the owners over the Suarez nonsense that no-one is bigger than the club . You have spent millions and produced relegation form . At least we have nearly reached our 40 point safety target .

Time to go , son . Our club deserves better than this .

10 Mar 2012 18:36:01
I do not understand all this negativity. You only lost by one goal, and I still think it is possible to avoid relegation.

For this recent defeat I think we should all blame the pitch, the weather, the ref, the media, the FA, and the Premier League. I also believe that there is a conspiracy involving making the goals that Liverpool always play towards far too small, as your strikers (and I use that word loosely) don't appear to able to hit a cows arse with a kipper!

Now lets be honest, and I've said this many times, "King" Kenny has brought in really good players, at bargain prices like Downing, Henderson, Coates, Adam and Carroll. All "King" Kenny needs to do now is find the sport that they are really good at! (I think we can all discount it is football by now!)

Anyway, the removal vans have been ordered in preparation for the imminent move to your new address;

8/9, Premier League Place, Garbage Street, Midtable City, Nowhereland.

Do not lose the faith, in "King" Kenny we trust.

I'm sure you will bounce back in your next game, although it is unfortunately being played at one of your bogey grounds, Anfield!

Kenny should not get sacked we're not chelsea or r.madrid who sack managers for fun people actually get a chance in our team remember when kenny took over last season we were destroying teams and everybody nd I mean everybody wanted him to get a permanent contract, I do believe that a few of the transfers have been poor and kenny and commolli both need to take blame, but the players must also take some blame, kenny might choose the formation and tactics but he's not telling them to play $hit nd kenny also needs to take some blame for not buying a good striker in january, but whoever says its all his fault and that he's got no tactical sence needs a slap lol. If Kenny was to leave(which shouldn't happen)I would want frank riijkard didn't have the best time at galatasaray but with our youth system he'd be a very good manager bringing out young players and also trying to buy players who suit the pass and move style (that is the reason why the players that have been bought are not doing well they can't pass and move). Adam looks useless actually can't lift the ball apart from his penalty against cardiff and hendo's low on confidence and needs to play in the middle.

Not the best of games for sure. We didnt deserve to win or lose, but who wants 1 point ?

The whole attitude of the team was poor, and not enough big named players turned up. Skrtl was superb, but there wasnt much else.

Kenny is a great man motivator but something is not quite right. Is it the 'Suarez' factor thats affecting everyone, I dont honestly know ?

The whole team needs a good verbal from kenny, this is not the time to be pals with the first team. We need the fear factor returning.

Bob Pailsey was a really nice guy, but at the same time he was also feared by every one of the team. They knew that if they didnt perform, old mild mannered and softly spoken Bob would be ruthless with their careers. Treatment of Joe Jones springs to mind, and Bob the silent assasin did what he had to do for the good of the club.

Kenny needs to either start being ruthless or get some consultancy help from Rafa, the master tactician. This is not good enough and Kenny must know it

OMG - Hang on did I fall asleep and wake up at the end of the season? Was that our last game of 2011/12? Yes we have lost the last 3 but 2 of those teams are above us and to be fair we beat Arsenal when they were having their sticky patch. I truly can't believe we are asking for this player or that player to be sold and sack KD, I'm as disappointed and frustrated as many of you and I've supported them since they lost the FA cup in 1977 (so I wasn't glory hunting) but come off it these players have only played together for two thirds of a season and we have a cup in the bag and still in another one. Fourth place is not beyond our control so I for one will still be supporting them even if they do finish 7th and if any of you are after instant success go swap your shirts for Chelsea, Man City or even a Barcelona one but mine is staying put. Come what may.

Well you have insulted me ROY I am very passionate about LFC and if you read the the post I'm trying to say that I will support LFC what ever happens, I don't pick the team, I don't buy the players but I - maybe like you - have to face the flack dished out at the work place or where ever but I'm bigger than that and except that sometimes in football things don't go according to plan and I also know that sometimes new players don't gel instantly which is what most on here want . Can everyone stop writing saying

" the owners have spent £100m and gave kenny loads of money "

the owners havent spend £100m youve got to remember that when we bought carroll and suarez for a total of roughly £55 - £60m , we sold torres and babel and made about £55m so in that january period they hadnt really spent a penny

yeah we bought henderson for alot and downing , but adam , bellamy and coates were all relatively cheap.

i think at the time they were the right signings it hasnt worked out for them all just yet , but adam was quality at blackpool , henderson was showing loads of potential at sunderland and downing was getting assists and goals at villa. so you can understand why we made moves for them at the time !

How much have the owners spent on players. 100 million. How much the have sold players for is irrelevant. They have paid 100 millions pounds for players. Stop scraping the barrell for excuses

Well some players were paid their contracts too to move out. that money also was paid by the club. What I know is that we've spended 100m and most of them was spend on average players. :(

As a football club I can't believe the amount of money that is consistently wasted. This year Kenny Dalglish has been very fortunate to get the cash but still the team is miles behind the clubs at the top.

Kenny has to take the blame. He is the manager. He keeps on changing the side. We are playing not to get beat instead of trying to take control of games.

August- December it was clear that we needed a strike. We failed to get one. Kenny's fault.

The Carling Cup win has papered over the cracks. The performance that day was poor. Why as a club we seem to pay oer the odds for players but other clubs can find gems.

On Tuesday night Everton will overtake us probably
because again we will be afraid to have a go. The team are just s***e.

I would not bring back Rafa back. He had his chance. Something has to change within the club. I would have someone like Brendan Rogers who at least wants to play football.

10 Mar 2012 18:06:54
Thinking about our transfer policy, we buy players that have a sell on value, surely by the end of the season we need to think about selling hendo downing adam possibly carrol n kuyt, basically cutting our loses.

Give rafa his job back as he can set the tactics and get the best out of suarez! Give him some money he'll want martinez llornte, pedro, tello, hazard,Honda, huntalaar, cavani! Im not saying these players will join us but at least we wont buy average rubbish!

U couldn't give that lot away at the minute lol

Lol true but at least we dont have to pay them!

Rafa was the master of buying average rubbish when he couldn't get the targets he wanted!

He couldnt get the targets cose he didnt have the money! But think of the players he did buy... Agger, skrtel, alonso, masherano, lucas, torres, reina! Add gerrard carra suarez enrique, thats not a bad team!

^

As opposed to Kennys complete rubbish?

I know who's rubbish i'd rather dump.

liverpool need to buy a player similar to david silva who can created chances and is great at unlocking defences, we also need a world class strikerw, would like to see Ozil and Higuien (spelling) or Benzema. ed why arent Suso and sterling givin a chance, liverpool have got nothing to loose, and i would say they would do a better job than adam and downing {Ed002's Note - They are not ready for the first team yet.}

The season is over for us, cant we start playing kids

Lfc do not want creative midfielders omg

I agree that the likes of Suso and Sterling might as well be given a chance now that Champions League qualification is out of the question.......at least they'll gain some experience and play without fear, which can't be said of Adam, Downing and Henderson. Suso, 18yrs old, why is he not ready to be thrown into the mix Ed? Take a look at the performances of Miyaichi at 19 (I think).......if you are good enough, you are old enough. Kenny needs to wake up and give the future stars a chance now the season is in tatters. Leffeman 101 {Ed002's Note - I have zero interest in repeatedly discussing the kids. Try writing to Dalglish and tell him.}

Tues night when zero spending Everton overhaul us in league at Anfield is the time for Kenny to bow out.

Sorry Kenny you failed on an epic level

Well, I just hope, we won't be listening to lame excuses. No, please. its merseyside derby. We just can't lose it. YNWA

10 Mar 2012 18:01:00
Quite simply the worst performance I have witnessed this season, to a man no one stepped up. Enrique has gone missing since the turn of the year, Adam Henderson & Spearing were awful, and Suarez had no back up from Craig or Kuyt. We are simply not good enough, yes give the kids a chance until the end of the season, but on that performance we will need 4-5 very good additions in the summer. Maybe more if the likes of Suarez leaves. What is wrong with Pepe this season, that is not the first goal this season that he should have prevented. I really do not know the answer to our problems, but we must still get behind Kenny and whoever he picks.

10 Mar 2012 18:00:54
Hi all LFC fans

I just couldn't watch this game anymore :"(.

If anyone had any doubt about sacking kenny then here you have it, he's spent over £100m but apart from Suarez & maybe Enrique, how many of kenny's buys would've got in our team start of last season when we had Torres, Aqua & Raul?

Adam isn't good enough to clean Raul Meireles or Aquilani's boots never mind playing for LFC. good left foot but what else?

Hendo Isn't ready to play every game. I think he needs 2/3 seasons to come good.

Carroll you don't to be a scientist to know he isn't a £35m player. £35m would get you a complete striker such as Cavani or Falcao.

Downing way over priced, way too inconsistent but he has been playing a bit better last few games.

Kenny- where do i start?? very very poor buys, if we tried to sale Adam, Downing, Carroll, Hendo we would be really lucky to get £25-£30m for all of them but we paid £84m.
Very poor tactics, Kenny is out of his dept. we pass that ball side-ways & back with no end product, we don't have a goal score because kenny wasted the money on poor buys. He lack's the knowledge on when we need subs to come on and change the game.

What i dont get is When a player starts to play (Bellemy, Carroll, Hendo, Downing) well for a few games he drops them to the bench.

We don't close poor teams down at all ( Look at the way Barca chase that ball when they lose it they win it back in less than 10 second) we don't we just let them pass us off the park most of the time, 1st half against Arsenal is how its should be done especially at home.

What needs to happen is Sack Kenny

Bring in a manager who's a tactician master. A give him money to spent.

We need a clear out: Jones, Cole, Aurélio, Maxi, Spearing, Doni, Adam, Kuyt.

I don't care if you dissagree with what i've said!

theba300

Why post it on a banter page if you're going to say stuff like ' i don't care if you disagree with me'. You post on here for other people's opinions..

Bring in a manager who's a tactician master. A give him money to spent.
Simple isn't it? Who is this tactician master who is currently available? And how much shall we give him? £100M, £200M? Where does this money come from? Your own pocket?

Mr Joachim Löw this guy has 2 years left on his contract.
Rafa Benitez this guy loves our great club as much as us fans, he was the only guy who stood up to those yonks. When he had money to spent got Alonso, Torres, Pepe, Agger, Garcia and the list goes on.

Theba300

Pep (Barca manager) this guy is Spain's answer to Bill Shankly.

And yes I'd rather give £100 or £200m the those guys than kenny.

10 Mar 2012 18:00:39
Do liverpool have open player trail? Im sure I could play better than ones on the pitches. kenny im ready to go if you need me

10 Mar 2012 17:59:47
You sad, fickle fans. Once again you're crying for the head of the man you once praised. Of course our beloved club has been terrible this year and seeing them like this pains me as much as you, but we have a completely new team! We haven't had the stability of Arsenal, ManU or Tottenham. You can see a mirror image at Chelsea right now.

Please try just one time we lose (there should be more opportunities this season) to stay your hands and mouths and look to the future.

I for one have conceded that this year is over. We've no chance at CL but we have Europa secured no matter what (not nearly as good I know). I think Kenny and the owners know this as well. That is why you saw Coates and Kelly out there today. That is why Gerrard is being preserved and played cautiously. We tried last week at our last chance and failed. We should have won but fate was not on our side. Granted we've missed our chances all year, but now Kenny and our club are content to see this year out with no new injuries. They're content to let our youth play and get valuable experience. They're content to preserve Bellamy and Gerrard. They're content to wait for the return of our best midfielder Lucas.

Mark my words fellow Reds, hope is not lost, nor is it far away. Be patient, be supportive, be the fans that you're supposed to be. Be the fans that sing songs and chants through win or lose, good and bad. Be the fans that truly believe you'll NEVER walk alone.

Fellow Reds, NOW is the time when you're fanhood is truly tested. Anyone can support Barca, Manu or Manc. It takes a true fan to support our great club through these painful times!

So, put the past behind and look to the near and distant future (FA Cup and next season) for this year matters not. Get behind your club when they need it most and shout it from the mountains WE ARE LIVERPOOL AND WE SHALL NEVER WALK ALONE!

AmRed

Agh stop satin this. This lot living in a bubble, calling themselves true fans and being condescending to the critical. Are you satisfied with the club at the moment? I this okay for you? You have the arrogance to slate our loyalty while you concede that the season is over. something has to change, and is things need to be change radically in any unsuccessful company, the company management has to step up. Get off your high horse. You are doing the team no favours by accepting tripe
Daveevad

Once again a Kenny fan calls a fellow LFC fan fickle, indicating an acceptance of mediocrity.

I am calling forr KK's head, not because i'm fickle, but because he's not the right man to lead us FORWARD.

And believe it or not (i'm sure you'll agree), I care more about LFC and it's status more than Dalglish and his accomplishments, and if I feel he is dragging us down, i'll let it be know. Does that make me fickle?

Why do you Dalglish fans put his acheivements before the club, and attack your own fellow fans?

Are you a KK fan or LFC fan?

Open your eyes before it's too late, and stop accepting mediocrity.

For those hurting about our crap season, and realize we're going backwords not forwards.

I feel your pain!

Lets get one thing right. Not everyone wanted KD in the first place and mad eit clear he was not the man from the job. In the past he was great, but that is the past. fro me KD hasnt got what it takes. If he was so good why was he out of work for so long before we gave him a job?

A very good post AmRed. Glad to see somebody talking a bit of common sense on this page!

I can't believe shelvy can't get into this medfield.its shows kenny is lost.

Red indian

Yeah, kenny lost the plot when he signed carrol for 35 million. Wud rather have MON or woy than him.
Indian Buzzer

Shelvey would have been thousand times better than adam or spearo. Why we called him back, when he'd only feature in reserves games. non-sense stuff.

i dont see what you all have against kenny?

Blame the players.

Who signed the players though ?

Who bought the players?

Blame the players that kenny bought

Maybe peolpe are starting to wake up and see that KD is not the mane for us. I have said this since the start of the seasson, he was good for a safe hands manager till the end of last seasson. But should never have been given the job full time. The palyers he has brought in speak say it all.
I fear now that Raffa will take the Chelsea job, as i have been saying for a long time he would be the only worldclass manager that could help us. We are now just a mid table team, which for me means no world class manager, no world class players. I pains me to see how far we have fallen and how fast.
Kenny is a legend, but that all he is a legend not a manager for the 21stC
Sad days ahead indeed

I normally come on here with all the optimism in the world. I am a red and i always ALWAYS will be. Whether we win or lose i'll always support our team but today's game has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I felt like we were never going to score...
I hope we pick it up on Tuesday and we really put in a very good performance which will give us more confidence as i feel the confidence seems to have been drained from us after the Arsenal game.
Having said that, i still don't think there's a better player who can drag and turn players like Suarez does. Just a shame no-one's up there with him.
I'm keeping the faith in all the new players (as hard as that is) and Kenny and am hoping things look up soon and we do concentrate on the league.

It is a shame the owners expect no less than 4th but we have already lost it, for sure there will be changes at the end of the season, it will happened in any business.
Now its time to get back to basics, pass and move did not get us anywhere, we forget the 4th place and be aware of the 14th place we are only 2 defeats and a draw away from it.

I would sack the fans first.

We can still get 4th. keep the faith. YNWA

Well, well, no one should say a word against Kenny, he is untouchable, he has won us the Carling cup, and we are playing excellent football with over 100M spend with great players brought into the club.

Enough of this favoritism, it's 3 losses in a row in league since 2003,
Something needs to be done. Time to wake up, Queen or King! To get 7th place is not what owners appointed Dalglish and assisted him with 100M money.

Without the summer arrivals we were playing excellent football, now a days it's the same football we played at woeful Woy era. What the hack is this, brilliant football, pass touch and fly football. What the hack is Dalglish thinking, I didn't wait to see this sh** every day.

First of all believe it or not we can't reach champions league or top of the league with average mid table players, Adam ( from a relegated club), Carroll (half season wonder for Newcastle and scored couple of goals in Championship), Downing (from mid table club Aston Villa), Henderson (from mid table Sunderland).

Dalglish fantasy world won't be happening on the pitch, Downing Cross Carroll banging in goals, Henderson killer pass, Adam scoring goals, Hollywood passes.
Come on, I don't know where we 'll go from here, don't think even 7th place is guaranteed, may be 10th, and FA cup, kiss a**.. got some luck and won the Carling cup against Championship minnows. Okay won the Carling cup use it as a spring board to wards going forward..hmm. not sure we are actually going backwards, falling off the pace.

Owners need to step in, the pressure is on Dalglish, they have backed him with lots of money, he has failed to reach their expectations as well as the fans, King, Queen or Princess he needs to be questioned, what the hack was he doing wasting those money on crap players. We all know without them at the end of last season what beautiful football Liverpool were playing.

Wonder what people will be thinking if it isn't Dalglish and someone else as manager and we struggling like this. Stick with him.

Enough is Enough, I can't take this shi** again every weekend. F***ing big Time. Sulk Sulk

10 Mar 2012 17:48:26
I watched Fernando Llorente against utd, he wasnt that great, we have better in our squad. The organisation and tactics helped that team win. We should look at some of their midfielders who gave 100% enough.

Still enough is worth more than skill that will never get used.

10 Mar 2012 17:48:07
don't Blame Rafa for his last year 7th. too many Injury , No money given for player. Club is going to sold all that effect player and manager.

abcd.

Raffa team and record v KD team and record just show what a mid table team we are. simples

Kuyt play well in a match then lost for 3/4 match. I don't know why we not Buy a striker in january ?

10 Mar 2012 17:44:43
So who would be your choice to replace King Kenny out of Rafa, MON, Capello, Pep, Jose, or sombody else ??? My choice is Rafa.

U takh abt crappy tactics and then shortlist MON as a candidate?

Rafa all day long, because he's the only one available out of them!

If they were all available Rafa or Pep defo.

"Fickle"Fan

Who the hell is MON. It would never happen but it has to be Pep Guardiola. I wouldn't do anything until the summer if i was in FSG. And if Germany win the Euro's i would go for Joachim Loew.

Si {Ed002's Note - I suspect he mean Martin O'Neill.}

Frank Reiijkard ? Marcelo Bielsa ?

If it came down to it RAFA all the way, he knows liverpool and the fans loooove him still.

Obviously jose mourinho , hes a genius , but as hes not available i would happily have rafa back. lets not forget in rafas prime with us we where beating real madrid 4-0 man u 4-1 aston villa ( was good then ) 5-0 , inter , barca arsenal chelsea , we where ranked no.1 in europe too

10 Mar 2012 17:43:52
IMO our Carling Cup win more or less secured Kenny's term for 1 more season to give him more time 'for the team to gel'. However, it's almost guaranteed that if we don't make CL again by 2012/13, he's most likely gone. SingRed

10 Mar 2012 17:43:10
Meirles should not go. he Back up Gerrard Injury last year. After Lucas Injured we should replace some one. have the chance but we Didn't do that in January. a Striker is needed we not go for anyone confident in our team ? that over confident bite you back Kenny. there are so many good player in our target in January . not many team in market so we can get 1 or 2 player. miss the time miss the chance.

AVB had a PLAN, a project to make chelsea a championship winning team.

But did he mean 1st division championship

10 Mar 2012 17:42:27
F*ck it this season is already over, why not let some younger players show some passion and enthusiam. God knows none of the first team give a s**t.

10 Mar 2012 17:40:46
It's frightening to think how important Lucas is to us and how without him we have no one that can set a tempo to our play. I know he hardly dictates play like an alonso but the way he plays encourages a much higher tempo. Adam is scarily bad without Lucas to do all of his running. I can't understand what has happened to the football we were playing under dalglish at the end of last season. I don't know whether the loss last week has knocked the stuffing out of the team but that should not be an excuse. That was the worst performance since Hodgson was in charge. I tend to think of the glass as half full but that's pretty hard after that crap today. With nothing to play for in the league there has never been a better time to blood some of the youngsters. Let's be honest we can't get any worse than that.

Cheers
Greggers

Agree with you mate. I'm always positive about LFC, even in the worst of times. Let the youngsters play since we have nothing but the FA cup left this year.

Can we at least all agree we are excited for next season? Lucas returns and Gerrard will most likely be at full strength (barring a Euro injury).

Have hope when none can be seen.

AmRed

10 Mar 2012 17:39:55
Please Bring back Rafa before chelsea or Madrid get him, rafa knows his football, transfer market in Spain and 9 times out of ten his tactics were great, if he had the money dalglish had we would have won the title this year, he loves Liverpool and would come back no problem. Dalglish was the greatest player but a disaster as a manager, he has a chip on his shoulder to hide the fact he knows nothing about management. If the owners keep him as manager we will be a laughing stock next year, and Benitez will win the title with Chelsea.
The Bad Guy

10 Mar 2012 17:39:14
Get Rafa in NOW!!
He can assess the squad before the end of the seaosn and identify targets that Comoli can sort out quickly.
He's available.
No compensation needed.
He is class.

10 Mar 2012 17:38:58
Inspite of the danger of being sent to the Tower I must say bring back Rafa. This isn't anything against Kenny but it always shocked me how so many fans were adament that Rafa had to go in the end.

The saying of no one is bigger than the club should be built around players should never be consulted about who should be manager. I believe part of the greatness of this club was built around the hirachy of no one is more important than the fans but no one has more of say than the Manager. This is how it should always be and I believe is one reason why the English league is unique compared to Europe. A man who brought 500k+ people onto the streets of Liverpool was trashed because we came 7th one year & was pig headed enough to sub Torres in games as a statement that the team needed more high quality players.

I could never understand people who tried to argue they would rather have Hodgson than Benitez because it always struck me as rash, ungrateful and short sighted. Also the fact that senior players were consulted is shocking and spineless. Its crazy to think he was forced to leave to appease Gerrard and Carragher because they disagreed with his decisions. This reads like an utter bashing but I look at it and think what would Rafa had brought to the club with the £50m+ invested in players. Again nothing against Kenny other than some of the signings, 6+ months have now passed and feel well within my right to have an assessment on the new players now.

10 Mar 2012 17:36:59
God i know i was pissed off at how poorly we played, but i don't think kenny's head should roll yet. I think one of the ed's pointed out the other day it took barca about ten years to become what they are now. if you want instant success then jog on to man city or chelski(maybe not them. lol). we will get better, there are 10 games + to go yet. i do admit though sometimes i wish kenny would sort out some of his odd team selections and maybe do subs a bit earlier. it was obvious from the off adam wasn't there today. Remember lads, chin up and you'll never walk alone.

Lawrenson said Today on Radio that he believed those at Liverpool did not trust Coates

I can see why in the opening 20-25 minutes a team with better players than sunderland would have punished us and 2 or 3 goals would have been possible and it would have been down to coates bad defending

When you play a midfield that don't know how to attack and can't defend the best back line in the world will struggle, when i heard Adam,Henderson and Spearing were playing it send shivers of fear down my spine.

Hey Eds I love Kenny I would never want him sacked even if we finish 20th, but I fear that FSG may be running out of given that they have spent 100m too. Really Hope Kenny picks things up I can't see him sacked but to be honest can't blame FSG if he is too.

No desire to take the game to the opponents, get bodies forward and really bust a gut to put the ball in the onion bag.

This has been us all season. Apart from the Arsenal game and 3-4 others.

We've been very untidy in passing/possession all season, and it's why we don't create anything or give good service to our strikers. We are a very easy team to defend against, full stop.

The signs are there that we are already a mid table team, and Kenny just isn't right for the job/(able anymore), but people just don't want to see it.

Some examples/signs are:

Fan 1: Any chance of Soldado in the summer?
Fan 2: Don't be silly, he'd never come to us!

A sign of our medocre status.

Fan 1: Dreadful performance and tactics from the players and manager. These players aren't good enough.
Fan 2: Go support City then if you can't support us when we lose to crap teams. You fickle crustation.

A resignation of or admission of - "If you don't like or can't accept being a mid-table team, then bugger off" - Mediocrity

Kenny should walk. I can't accept his boring approach to games, he's tactically inept.

I wan't this mediocrity to stop, but hey, just call me fickle.

Signed

Nufc fan here lads, i think you guys have too many expectations, yes a think kenny has not spent well, but lads you have just won a cup, quite capable of winning the fa cup is that alone not good enough, try winning nowt since 1969 and then you might have somthing to be pi**ed off about. C Adam would love to play in a very attacking team. Lets play like blackpool

And get relegated woop woop

Its actually embarassing. There are teams with far worse players who actually win games. Too much dissapointment this season despite playing well but if we can't win whilst dominating games how the f*ck do we even draw when getting battered? Its truly shocking and doesn't look like its ever going to improve. Who can we sign that would actually change this? No one. In fact even bringing Joe Cole back might bring in some fresh air...

What does irritate me is seeing what a joke Liverpool has become recently, if we didn't have a half decent defence we'd be in a relagation battle (Even now that doesn't seem enough)

I for one will not bother watching us lose time after time and you can say how unfaithful I am, I couldn't give a sh*t. I won't bother wasting my time and untill we actually start scoring I won't.

Relegation for the spuds next season, you are an over rated team that is now being found out. S***e hart lane will be quiet again next season. Why don't you come and support a proper team with a proper history like the mighty liverpool

Keith Kop King

3 League defeats on the bounce
Transfer budget blown on desperately average players that wouldn't get near the THFC first XI
Over-rated? Think that applies to your manager
If we are really so inferior to LFC why not pop down the bookies and stick a few quid on you to finish above us this season? Didnt think so
You might not like these comments but think you know in your hearts they're pretty accurate.
And you think we should worry about relegation?

I know our team is not good enough for the fourth spot but I'm very sure that Benitez would do better with this team, i know the football under Benitez is not as attractive, but we are in the result business and a win comes before entertainment, we love to pass teams to death but at the end of the game we only win in ball position not in points.

Just seen Kenny's interview (im watching it on setanta ireland) and kenny is laughing and joking during the interview after the defeat, blaming the pitch, the wind, saying we are unlucky and hoping to be more lucky in our next game, bob paisley would turn in his grave if he knew what out great club is like now, havnt won a league game since january, 2 wins in 11 league games, 30 league goals this season, 100m wasted on very poor players, carroll, downing, adam and henderson are brutal, looking at coates again today and he is poison, What was kenny thinking leaving gerrard, carroll and downing on the bench? gerrard should start, carroll was just getting a bit of form and he gets dropped for the last 2 games and downing is the same story. It is time for kenny to get out of our club, if he loved the club he'd step down, If it was any other manager in charge we would all be protesting outside anfield for the manager to be sacked, kenny is just living off his name, our club is in serious decline, the carling cup has made us think we are better than we are, for god sake, we beat a championship team on peno's after 120 minutes, it was embarrassing, we are liverpool football club, we should be in the champions league, not celebrating as if we had won the world cup when we win the mickey mouse cup, im so upset at this stage, the last 20 years ive been saying ''next season is our season to win the league'' but im not gonna say it about next season if kenny is still in charge and we still ahve these shambles of players, there is no heart whatsoever, adam, carroll, downing and henderson need to go, suarez will be off without a doubt, his heart isnt it, i really hope lucas comes back from his injury the same player he was, i could talk for hours about how upset i am supporting this club, but i wont, im going out to drown my sorrows, paul

their pitch is a disgrace

It's just not good enough and I hope the owners are asking serious questions....

I have liked the way we have played on 5 or 6 occasions this season, and I have seen good performances without the end result in person, due to a lack of luck etc. But....you can't be unlucky all season long, and the league doesn't lie.... Kenny keeps saying lets add up the points at the end of the season, but at this rate it wont be a lot different to what we have now.

Sorry, but either we start winning or Kenny has to make changes to the players who he seems to remain loyal to,e.g. Adam (who is too slow at the top level in my opinion) and Henderson who just doesn't seem to have the quality for LFC. Adam you can excuse to a certain degree because he was very cheap and at that cost would be a reasonable squad player, although not first 11. However, Henderson at circa £16m+ is nowhere near to justifying that price tag and he should not be starting.

I do think we have made progress over the position Hodgson left us in, but to be honest that would not be too difficult, especially with the money that has been made available. That said, the progress made is, in my opinion, not significant enough to excuse a number of performances and results this season. It is certainly not enough to create excitment about seriously competing for top 4, and as for the league title, that is a remote dream with this team and squad.

If I were the owners, I would be looking for Kenny to explain what changes need to be made to remedy the current position and to make a step change for a serious challenge next season.

I am not an advocate for management change as this achieves nothing except additional expense. Kenny should be given at least 3 seasons, but I would like to see him explain performances like today and I hope that, in private, plans are being made to address the clear weakness in the side today. If we retain Adam and Henderson as regular starters next season, and we do not address the clear lack of creativity wide right, then I fear for the future of LFC and for Kenny himself.

Comments anyone?

Sorry boys but this same thing happened at Chelsea and AVB was gone, Mick Mcarthy too, KK is my hero and has been since i was 8 years old, but hes going to harm his reputation unless either it picks up bigtime or he steps down to resume a role upstairs,
Whether we like it or not he hasnt a deal of tactical nous and the game has definately changed a lot since Blackburn winning the league, We needed a striker in January and should have been prepared seeing as though we knew this at the end of November but we didnt do anything about it and now were suffering,
Poor show today and it has been for a while now, lets face it we didnt BEAT Cardiff.....We got lucky,
Either play some of the kids Kenny or do the right thing,
I dont care if i get slated by the give it time brigade, were not playing in the past anymore, Fergie could be given time back then, theres more money etc involved now and its a different world 100 mill and 7th isnt good enough....and arent we 6 points off 14th?!........Scary

By the end of the month then 14th is where we will be so

10 Mar 2012 17:19:58
Whats wid us that we arent being able to score, i am just amazed, we have penalty misses, woodworks and no good close.if theres one thing we lack its everything. i honestly dont have any idea on how we gonna improve. KK i want u to stay for 5 years more and rebuild the club, please for godsake change ur tactics or sell these players and buy new one, i dont think downing and henderson are playing in the right position, adam and carroll such a waste of money, please do something

10 Mar 2012 17:19:56
ok we've lost again so 4th is probly off the cards but this just proved again we need a class striker and a winger. but when i say a striker i dont mean just get rid of carrol he needs another season at least to prove his worth but lets not keep bangin on bout the 35 mil its not his fault we paid that for him. we need another striker plus carrol n suarez for squad porposes. look at spurs not long back they had defoe, pav, crouch, keane dos santos ect. would huntlaar be a good striking option?...redman matt..

Do anyone agree that this medfield is worse then rafas last one.
Plus I have a sneaky feeling kenny will now focus on FA cup and try to do well so that he hangs on to the job.
It looks like we will be starting early next season in europa qualfiers.
But don't worry kenny's fans will come on site soon to protect him but to me they r just kenny fans not LFC fans.

No good player will sign for us in his right mind for this manager.

That was depressing. We don't look like scoring.
Adam is just too slow and looks even more exposed when we play four in midfield. Why not use Henderson's mobility there? Because he's not a wide player.
And I can't understand why Bellamy keeps getting stuck out on the wing; again, he's not a natural wide player. I know we are desperately short of width, but give him a chance through the middle.
The only real wide player is Downing and he looks incredibly short of confidence, so we're right up against and end up using players out of position.

The midfield worries me the most- even more than up front. Considering the number of midfield players we have, we clearly lack quality and width. I know we are missing Lucas but Gerrard's best years are behind him and I can't help thinking Adam was bought with Gerrard's injuries in mind and he's not up to the job. And Dalglish doesn't seem willing to give Henderson the responsibilty to play there.
We need to improve the midfield in the summer- as well as at least another forward- if we want to start scoring goals.

Rigsby.

Absolutely pathetic performance against Sunderland. I think the fans who think we can still get fourth are completely deluded.

FACT - We are 13 points behind 4th place
FACT - We are only 8 points in front of 15th place
(at the time matches were still being played)

We are closer to finishing above the relegation zone than finishing in top 4. That is a shocking stat.

We have an average squad, hardly any match winners and after seeing today''s performance as a team and as individuals it is clear to say we have no quality.

People on here say that Kelly is better than Johnson? Well, I think we actually miss his attacking threat, we have zero creativity on the right when he doesn't play. Kelly can't cross and has no pace, although I will say he is a better defender than Johnson. Yes Johnson may be a better attacker than defender and gets caught out of position often but modern day right backs don't just sit back and defend.

Charlie Adam? Bought to try and replicate the passing that Xabi Alonso brought to us? Championship player at best. A big fish in a small pond at Rangers and Blackpool. He can hardly lift the ball off the floor during set pieces. To mention him and Alonso in the same breath is an insult to Xabi.

Andy Carroll. Hasn't played enough to put together a run, but has had decent chances and some opportunities and hasn't taken them. £35m on a mediocre Englishman whereas we could have spent £3m more on Sergio Aguero. As soon as he steps onto the pitch it's as if Sam Allardyce is our boss, long balls, hit and hope football.

And the list goes on. We need a complete clear-out in the summer, with Damien Comolli following some. My mate is a massive Spurs fan and he laughed as soon as we appointed Comolli. He told me he completely ruined Spurs, spent a lot of money buying mediocre players and he's doing the same here. Carroll, Adam, Henderson, Downing. Over-priced, under-performing, complete rubbish. And if Comolli thinks we have a great squad and only need to tweak in the summer with 2/3 players, he is having a laugh right? And I think Dalglish may be getting himself in a precarious position too. He may have guided us to the Carling Cup, but it's the league and Champions League we want. Let's not forget, our owners are winners. They changed the Boston Red Sox coach something like 8 times in 8 years until they won if I'm not mistaken? Don't swear by it, not something I'm entirely sure of. I don't think they are the type to hang around, waste money and wait years and years for use to finish higher in the league.
Not saying I want Dalglish gone, he is a hero to us all and saved us last year, and I am the first person who wants him to help us succeed but he needs to change things dramatically over the remaining fixtures, in the summer through transfers in and out, and next season.

Jayson

10 Mar 2012 17:14:30
Oh wow... if you can't support us when we lose or draw.. Come on fellas. So what if we don't finish where you think we should? Will your head explode and you'll stop supporting the club? Good riddance if a lot of you do... Red til I die no matter what, eh!!

McSnuggles

Being a supporter doesnt require us to be idiots! Tell me when Kenny spent all that money on those players in the summer did you really believe they would help us to compete for top 4? Why are you not saying Houllier was let go to early or Roy needed more time? IF you think blind loyalty equals support then you are an idiot.

Froddo

I'm not trying to argue with you on any of those points, and my loyalty is hardly blind. I'm going to stick with the club no matter what, even if we were to someday be relegated, and when Stevie retires, and when we win our next league title. I'll always be a supporter regardless of results on the pitch so my question to all the whinges people are putting forth - What if we don't finish fourth? What if we don't win the FA Cup? You spell it like it's doom and gloom for the club, yet we'll continue on the field next season!

Another bad result it is becoming a habit, we fell away very badly from the fourth place race we will not have anymore chances, we should be content with the Europe league should we go through the qualifying round, let's hope we can start winning and improve on the position we are in otherwise our league position will get worst, we just did not deserve anything from today's game.

Jay spearing is d worst player ever to be seem in a lfc shirt. If he wasn't from Liverpool he wouldnt get a game. All politics.he wouldn't get a game at wycombe wander'ers.do the decent thing kenny and pizz off and bring your over rated crap with u that u bought. We need a manager and quick. We need to be like chelsea and if its not working then sack him.kenny seems to think he's untouchable. Its time for the supporters to start calling for his head. There will be plenty of kenny lovers on here Going on about winning the carling cup.well the whole season has been a failure and its thanks to one man.

I thought Jay was becoming the new lucas you know transformation from an ugly duckling into a football swan

R u a united fan?! u cant keep choppin n changing the manager all the time. do wot chelsea do and look at the mess they are in as wel costs them about 20-30 mil a time to keep gettin rid of there managers!...redman matt

Its all about kenny this part of time you can't blame player. manager must know his player.

dalglish out. new manager needed someone who actually wants the team to play forward fluent football. not backwards negative no idea football. hopefully the owners will see sense and move dalglish upstairs before more damage is done. this lfc team lacks anything worth mentioning.

Kenny style and knowledge of football is not work now. you need world wide talent. How much money Bilbao use for their team look at them they rock.

I'm not normally negative, but today's performance from the boys has been well below what is expected. After last season, i thought Adam would be a good signing due to his set pieces but i think i've only seen one good delivery all season from him and that was the opening day of the season. Come on boys, for god sake, have some heart!!!

My heart wanted Kenny as manager my head told me he set the Liverpool squad up oddly before he left, He did well at Rovers but failed hugely at Toon and Celtic. We need him gone as he is destroying the team. I was no fan of Rafa but at his worst he was a million times better than this!

10 Mar 2012 16:43:10
Our attacking play is awful. We haven't created one good chance today. Like I said weeks ago - the carling cup isn't good enough. Absolutely gutted Liverpool fan here - Kenny has to go.

Benitez is a better manager

If the owners are happy with our league standing then I would be amazed..

Come May we will be getting a new manager.
I'm sick of Kennys dour manner in interviews - its boring. We have become villains under Kenny - I really miss the professionalism that we had under Benitez.
Gazman

Well said mate!

You'll probably gets hypocritical fans telling you "Benitez is the past, Kenny is building for the future, we need to look to the fututre not the past". I laugh at the stupidity of the people who such remarks.

The way I see it, Dalglish and Commoli too, are destroying what Rafa was building.

"But we play better attacking football under Kenny than we ever did with Benitez".

It is high time we all LFC fans see that we need two verg good strikers. We have suffered in all thematches because we do not have strikers. Suarez works best with a goal poacher. His dribling skills etc are not entirely suited to the premiership as a lone striker. Charlie Adam, he is the worst ever player in this team. Look at what he has been doing in our last three matches. He is slow, does not want to pass the ball to strikers and looses the ball easily. We may all say it is work in progress but I for one am disappointed very disappointed. We urgently need two strikers. I have always wondered when the like of Raheem Sterling, Conor Cody et al will get an opportunity to replace these slow players. Jonjo is better that Charlie Adam. Can someone remind King Keny that we have young starts in our academy. Please editor preach that message. Two wins in 11 matches is not Liverpool's way.
LFC Fan for life. Fusc

I think raheem sterling is only 17 so maybe to young for first team. but gotta confess not wached many youth team games n players only seen that sterling scored 5 in a game not long back so must no where the net is. and didnt wayne rooney come onto the scene at 16? could be worth a runout in last few games of the season..redman matt

Ok here as you say are some facts,

*ANDY CARROLL £35M
*S DOWNING £20M
*J HENERSON £16M
*C ADAM £7M
*S COATES £6M
*J ENRIQUE £6M

1 premier league victory in 2012
Taken to penalties by Cardiff team who werent full strength yet outplayed us much of the game.

4 points ahead of WBA and newly promoted Norwich in the league.

Kenny has spent a Kings ransom and managed to make a bad thing worse. Chelsea 10 pts clear of us and they sacked their manager. We lack ambition by accepting the job Kenny is doing.

So those are the facts,am I negative? You bet I was gobsmacked last summer watching the huge outlay of funds on really average unproven players.

I cant understand what we were thinking as a club.

10 Mar 2012 17:07:16
Ive not posted for a while and have been patient with the progress that I have seen taken place, yes we have got a cup the first in a long time and yes were playing some nice football but I honestly feel KK is losing his touch and I feel he has to be replaced in the summer.

Team selection and constient changing of players isnt helping our team settle, Carroll was coming into form and he drops him for two games, looked today like hes lost confindence and you have to blame the managment for that. Today we were dung and never had that cutting edge, having no class wingers and a goal machine is killing us so why was this not sorted in the Jan window? Has board lost confindence in KK and may be holding back all funds for the summer and a new manager who now's. There's going be a few class managers there in the summer, Pep has already praised our academy may he be intersted in a new project to turn our once mighty team into a force again in World football. What does all my fellow Kopites think out there, Im sitting in my house gutted to see us in 7Th with 2 wins in 11 in the prem is that good enough to save him his job?, I wouldnt get rid till the summer. 4ths gone and were are still in the FA cup so heres hoping we get it sorted soon.

Scottybhoy1888 YNWA

Are you mad? Why would Pep leave the biggest club in the world to take over LFC? Whoever replaces Kenny will have an impossible job getting rid of all the rubbish he bought. Kennys transfers have set us back 10 years.

10 Mar 2012 17:07:12
Hi Eds. Just a point of concern. What our the owner's view on our position at the minute. They have said in the past that they want top 4 yet, despite a net spend of over 40m, we are no better (if not worse) off than last season. Would they be prepared to invest even more for us to get back in the top 4 or is their a feeling going around that we are somehow good enough to be in at least the top 4, but we have just unlucky (which of course we have got what we have deserved).

I want Kenny in for the long haul. We need stability, after 3 managers in 2 years, but we also need to be moving in the right direction. Signings like Suarez, Bellamy, Coates and Enrique have made sense because we have spent the relevant amount of money based on their qualities, age etc. Yet Downing, Carroll and Henderson have cost massive fees despite them not really ever even warranting half the fees we have paid for them. I hope we make a few purchases (not too many though) this summer but the likes of Matt Phillips do not excite me one bit. He would just be another Henderson in my opinion.

Luuk De Jong on the other hand would perfect for us in my opinion. He scores plenty of goals, is not too expensive and is still young.

Rant Over

It was Carra out last week

Dalglish out this week

Which legend will need to go next week?

The problem in the team run deeper than many "experts" are summarizing

We have lots of problems and like an alcoholic, we need to admit our problems, only then can we fix them

Picking up a few foreign players in the summer is not the answer

It's got nothing to do with them being legends it's time to move on and do what's good for the team yes Daglish is a legend and so is carrageen and Gerrard but we have to move on from that.

If the manager isnt ultimately responsible then who is?

Kenny is to blame he sets up the team and sanctions the transfers

You dont seem to want to admit the problem mate, kenny is one at this point

"We need to admit our problems"

Spot on.

KK is the problem, open your eyes and you'll see. Then can you admit!

Ed what are the chances now of Kenny leaving and Rafa returning? {Ed002's Note - I have previously given my opinion on what will happen with Dalglish and it is not really worth the abuse of giving it again. Obviously I know appear in the majority. As for Benitez, I would expect to look forward and not to the past. So I find it doubtful at best.}

I agree with the ed, should never go back to the past. Should never have got dalglish. Personally I'd like to see AVB or dechamps

p.s all the rafa haters believe me he is one top manager and he had fsg behind him we would have been well up there.his style of play maybe be boring but the so called dalglish said himself its a results driven buisness, that doesnt mean to say he is not a legend.

Wasn't it Bob Paisley who said "the league is our bread and butter" - perhaps he forgot to pass that on to Dalglish. What a useless, appalling display today. We might as well have Roy Hodgson in charge. 2 wins in 11 says everything. Total failure.

Kenny is just not up to it. Every time i have watched Liverpool play, there has been no attacking intent, we seem content to just pass the ball backwards. None of the players bought have the flair, ability or even confidence to want to move forwards or even beat a man.
Under Rafa atleast we used to come out of the blocks and get at the opposition, today we just seem happy to sit back, counter attack and concede goals.
Its been almost 30 games now and its fair to say we are falling behind the top 5 rapidly.
We won the carling cup, yes, but is it really progress considering we are only 4 points above a newly promoted team in Norwich.
Now seeing that we have a Europa league place for next season and that we are out of contention for fourth until the end of the season i would like to see a couple of youngsters given a chance, even Doni in goal. Lets face it they cannot be any worse than the current lot!

I hear the murmurings of discontent which is no surprise as looking at the bigger picture we are simply not good enough.
Today was poor and I mean very poor we got nothing and deserved nothing which says it all
I am disgusted with how we played today and I don't know who to blame the players constant lack of effort and desire, Charlie Adam, hendo on occasions as with spearing, Kuyt and Suarez! Who knows but if the players think that by winning the carling cup they have done it all then they are severely in the wrong and I think that the cup is the problem just like arsenal, just like Birmingham
Uninspiring and quite frankly appalling-kenny is starting to raise questions in my mind

Really p*ssed off, nothing positive to say...

Wrong team selections time and time again. I'm genuinely concerned for Kenny.

I always try and see the positives, but this result, with no goals/creativity/flow has again has left me so deflated....

The Everton game has red card written all over it.

Another pathetic display full of mindless excuses you mean not looking forward to Tuesday night tbh

Dalglish has to go, or either return to his position as ambassador. I mean, this is just horrendous. 4th spot was the target, we are sitting at 7th, with 30 goals in like 25 games. Carroll is the worst player this season by a mile.

Next season:
GK: Reina
RB: Johnson
CB: Agger, Skrtel
LB: Enrique
CDM: Lucas
CM: Henderson
CAM: Gerrard
CAM: Eriksen?
CF: Suarez
ST: Soldado?

Manager: ? :D

Great width....NOT!!!!!

Carroll as I said in my post earlier hasn't had a chance under kenny so you are out if order by even bringing him into the equation now!
If you are looking at blaming players try Adam, hendo and downing who are all out of their depth and awful
JP

10 Mar 2012 17:01:35
Any chance that Kenny will step down now?

10 Mar 2012 17:01:18
Adam is garbage, carrol is c**p, we are a one man army, a midtable team. If kenny loves the club, he shud step down now itself n let rafa take over. If he doesnt, it shows he does care abt the club, the guy cant swallow the fact he is an outdated legacy. Oh yeah, n he can shove the carling cup up his a**.

Not a great performance today. I suppose thats a mark of how far we have come this season because some of our performances have been very good this season but its important we stay together goin into games against Everton and Stoke.

Maybe we are just lacking that cutting edge around the penalty area but Sunderland is a tough place to go.

But we still are having a fine season and in king kenny i very much trust.

Mighty reds

But we still are having a fine season
========================

Have the aspirations of the liverpool supporters gone so low , 39 points after 27 games is not a fine season cup or no cup ..we have the same number of points after the same number of games played as last season and we all know how bad Roy Hodgson was to our club, and yeah we did n't spend 70 or so million.
Another stat you may not want to know, in Rafa last season, his worse by a mile we had 48 points after 28 games.
Roy

10 Mar 2012 17:00:57
Well that was awful!

Not that I expected anything different as we have given up on 4th and that is the most damming thing I can say and never thought I would say that about a Dalglish team.

We can't even fall back on we played well and created loads of chances.

Time for a fresh start I think and that is either significantly different players or management of the club - hope the former but fear it will be the latter

I usually defend kk and the team, but
any chance of a regular team, Carroll was improving from the Spurs game then is 'rested', changes again today, but he still keeps playing Adam..
Serious questions...
Why changes, we're not in Europe
What ever happened to keeping your short until you were dropped or injured..
Seems to be no method, but lost of madness

10 Mar 2012 16:59:52
KK has to sort this team out and quick. Awful performance today, one of the worst this season. We are going to end up finishing seventh which isn't good enough. Charlie Adam needs to go as do a few others who just aren't good enough and not trying hard enough. No spark today and deserved to lose. Bring in a player who can ignite a game and change it because today as soon as we went one down we were going to lose. No fight, no passion, no quality.

10 Mar 2012 16:59:48
Charlie Adam is like the illuminations. Doesnt appear switched on for most of the year, overrated & only shines at Blackpool.

10 Mar 2012 16:59:38
Its all about the money money money...

If you don't get Champions league then you are a failure, AVB gets the sack cos Chelski ain't getting into top 4 this season, now it's KD time for the chop.

KD has spent

35 million on Carroll
7 million on Adam
20 million on Downing
20 million on Henderson

82 million on 4 average at best players, certainly not Liverpool standards. Now lost 4 out of last 5 games in premiership 7th and sliding in the league not good enough.

It's time the owners did the decent thing and start planning for next season for life without KD. There's no sentiment in business it's about MONEY and the club as a brand, making the right big decisions for the club.

Curled1

It's all about money is it? You sound like Hicks & Gillette. To me being a Liverpool supporter is all about winning trophies, always has been and always will be. May I suggest you go and support Chelsea or Man City if it's money that turns you on.

10 Mar 2012 16:59:37
Watching the game. Have we had a chance on goal? Andy Carroll should have started. Feel sorry for him, media etc slating him when its the service thats the problem. I think we should sell suarez he's good but a luxury player not someone who can bang them in. He tries to do it all himself. Saldodo is the one or huntellaar however its spelt. Downing should have started been good recently. Adam appalling doesn't look like he wants to be there, can't wait till he is a squad player when lucas is back. spearing gives his all. Henderson show glimpses of being ok, but can tell he is one of those players who does well in training but can't bring it into games. Enrique terrible, any chance of him looking inside rather than playing it down the line? So all in all s**te. And please don't start commenting on how we should be getting behind them if your a true fan. They need to give us something to get behind. Not jogging around the pitch like there big time!

10 Mar 2012 16:59:28
2010-11 6th position. 2011-12 likley to be 8th. WHeres this improvement that Kenny keeps going on about. KK is a legend but im afraid its time for a new manager, he has signed far too much garbage for frankly ridiculous fees with no improvement whatsoever. Carling cup? thanks but no thanks El Pistolero

Progress? This is what happens when you take a team with average players (dead wood), get rid of them all and then fill it with a load more average players. Just because they're British and cost a fortune, don't mean they're any good!

Ash

Agree with you Ash, Its funny back when I was complaining about the stupid money we spent on these average players, many simple minded in here were shouting these premiership players are expensive because of their PL experience and will gel into the team quickly , now the same morons shouting that we should give them a chance to gel; its too early , they need more time , how strange Mata and Aguero did nt need this time and they came from a different league.
But what do we know Ash, according to many in here we are not true supporters because we get frustrated when we cant see any signs of progress.
Roy

All the kenny loyalists r either stupid or their IQ is well below average. Tday, my kid sister pointed out that kenny looks like a lost lamb. She was spot on.
Indian Buzzer

I know Roy and Indian Buzzer. The torrent of abuse we've had on here because we all saw this coming was incredible. You get the feeling that even if we finished 15th, some people (cozinoz, tizer red, tel '49) would still churn out the "we're a work in progress" line.

Hi Eds,

Any news on getting a new manager? never mind new players! The way things are were kidding ourselves if we think were gona attract quality players! And At least that way we wont waste any more money on crap like henderson, carroll, adam and downing. A lot of money at that! We are in serious danger of becoming a regular mid table team. How long will dalglish last on his past achievements as a player. Embarrassing at this Stage!

10 Mar 2012 16:58:11
Liverpool FC = Not good enough
KK = SACKED!

When are you going to understand that Adam is just not good enough, Henderson is not a winger and Suarez is much more effect playing just behind the front man.

Your stubbornness is taking the club down!!

Hope all those who were vocal in the condemnation of Carra will be equally vocal towards Skrtel and Reina who were responsible for the goal against sunderland

How were the resposible? it went trough his legs and hit off the post twice and reinas head?

Skrtel has been solid this season. Dont judge him on 1 game. Although I thought he was pretty decent this game as well.

The board really have to look at Kenny now. I don't think he is the man to bring us forward. I love him to bits but we need someone else to get us up the table. Sunderland and Newcastle above us in the table now,I really think we are heading for midtable until the yanks do something drastic

10 Mar 2012 16:56:39
There's a new era in pl now. The big four is replaced with
the big five - man c. Man u. Chelsea. Tottenham and Arsenal.
Liverpool is no where near the other top clubs atm, and it
breaks my red hearth to admit it. I dont see any chance of
us attracting the likes of cavani, lavezzi or other "targets" we dream of. Not in the way football is today, where money is god, and the game itself comes second. Gone are the likes of Gerrard, shearer and maldinis of the football world, the ones who craved/craves trophies, but would not sell out to get them. In the new era of football in general, lfc have a long, rocky way to go. But I do believe, in fact I know, the greatest club to ever play the game will stand tall once more.
We just got to have faith in the team and our owners, and give them time to rebuild the squad to new glory. Dont bash and hate on the players we got, support them, because I can guarantie you that they want to win just as much as I and all you other fans do.

10 Mar 2012 16:54:54
Dalglish OUT Saurez OUT Adam OUT Downing OUT Carroll OUT Henderson OUT - average at best - worst Liverpool team since Houllier

Saurez is a show pony - goal record awful

Gazman

Worst Liverpool team since Houllier
===========================
Dont understand this, Houllier put together a decent team in 6 years under him we won 6 trophies, in 4 out of his six years we were top 4, second in one of these, and the only time in the 20 or so years were ahead of united at the end of the season.
Roy

10 Mar 2012 16:54:54
We may have more shots on target yet as long as they don't put the ball in the net, we don't win. Poor performance all round; they knew that 4th is beyond them and their body language shows. There's only the FA Cup to play for. Kenny has a lot of explaining to do. SingRed

Very poor today. The pitch and weather didnt help. If Adam starts the next game I would be very surprised.

Trishan

Can't blame the pitch and conditions the players were pathetic today

If Adam starts again I won't be watching

Adam is the only player who played all 27 games, bar Reina. Right after him Henderson with 26. They've been both useless for most of the season.

FACT Sunderland contained you today quite easily, if you were playing wigan and lost 1-0 then fair enough twist but you were playing one of the form teams in the top half of the table.stop making excuses against the pitch and weather coz it's SAD!

The pitch could have been perfect we would have still lost the game, you buy crap you get crap "simple"

10 Mar 2012 16:53:46
hey fans

well i guess thats the last game i will watch for this season..i mean going to the game
im wasting my money

bill shankly must be turning in his grave

i am ashamed i screamed at hodgson last yr.........cos we just spent 100 mill..and we are 7th...its so embarassing...im suprised the club doesnt feel ashamed of themselves

the only difference between us and aston villa, sunderland..stoke, bolton..etc..is the NAME LIVERPOOL..
we are no better than any of these teams..i for one believe sunderland are better than us..
so unless we bring benitez..or another manager.who wil choose more technical players.......and better quality

you fans here will be angry every week...........
yes we will win some games..but midtable is our home now ...

if you disagree...look at the facts..
i dont care what the eds say cos they will say the team needs time...but in this business of football..100 mill, and 7th..isnt good enough is it..

sad sad times ahead guys...aye?

Kenny shud leave. he is c**p. n release the rubbish he bought. Carrol n adam wudnt even get into my college team.

I'm fed up...we don't deserve to be in the champions league, win the FA Cup then I'll say we reached our FULL potential this season.

Nah the carling cup was the aim and now the season is done

10 Mar 2012 16:52:16
Hello Eds,
and hello to all Liverpool fans. I know we still believe til the end but let's be honest. After today's result it's mission impossible to get 4th this season. All we can hope for now is FA Cup. And if there is no CL next season, I think it's quite save to deduct that no Cavani, no Lavezzi, no Higuain, no Sturridge and no other "big name" as many people like to call them will arrive next season. I doubt Suarez will stay, there will be no interest in Carroll so he'll have to stay. Maybe DeJong will be the only realistic option. Another lost season. Maybe next year...?Yeah, we've been hearing this for the last 20 years.

Not being funny mate but is it not big name that have got yous in this mess, the best thing yous can do is buy players who want to play for your club and not players who want 120,000 a week. f**k big names ,and you will see a more commited team. just my opinion, all the best.

Afternoon Ed(s) I'm going to take a few days away from the site because the torrent of crap that some posters are about to embark on would be better left unread, not least the " in Rafa we trust" brigade

Chris in Tamworth
{Ed002's Note - You can always hideaway on other team pages Chris. I would certainly stay away for the next 24 hours whist the fans vent. No doubt it is my fault the team lost again.}

Why is there this blind faith behin KD? I just don't get it. If any other manager i.e Rafa was performing the way we are you would be venting the same anger. The facts are that Rafa was a most sucessful manager in the modern era. KK has brought us back to the drawing board again with players he has bought for ridiclous fees who we simply cant move on for any profit.

Goes without saying Ed! Lol
I don't spend much time on other teams pages so I may have to nip over to the conspiracy page and maybe the fishing page as well

Chris in Tamworth

So chris what is your take on todays match?

ynwa

Ok - instead of being churlish and immature - lets here you're arguments? 3 defeats on the bounce - only beat a poor Cardiff on Pens - 7th in the league - Imagine if this was Real Madrid that this was happening to, would the fans be philosophical there? We are a massive club and I'm not willing to accept the mediocrity we are being dished up. A good performance against Aresnal doesn't appease the truth which faces you when you look at the league my friends...

Name calling won't bother me.

Gazman

No it's not your fault editor but you keep defending how crap we are and how kk will turn things around"wake up",you say it takes time but I think 20 years is more than enough time.
Would love to hear what positives you got frim the game!!!???????? {Ed002's Note - I don't think you will find too much evidence of me defending "how crap" Liverpool are, nor saying that "kk will turn things around", nor me saying it "takes time". Are you on the right web site?}

You didnt answer the last question?? {Ed002's Note - I didn't watch the game.}

10 Mar 2012 16:48:33
We are rubbish under kk,he must go 7th not good enough for liverpool,we are even worse than last year at least we got 6th,we have less points now than we had last season at this stage and we know all the troubles we had last season, cant believe were not going to get the top 4 now, kenny must go,as the great man always said the league table dont lie MR SHANKLY.Were not scoring goals and kenny wouldint buy a striker in january window,he is making alot of mistakes and buying very bad players to the club, everyone in the football world knows we cant score goals and he didint bring in a goalscorer, cant believe were stuck in 7th and wont get 4th,very upset this champions league is vital to our club if we want to progress, its not good enough you spent alot of money badly kenny and were suffering as a result, carling cup is just covering up huge cracks in this team,im upset but these are all facts im sorry to say ,kenny please leave.....Irish kopitie

10 Mar 2012 16:48:31
For all you delusional people that cling to the notion that LFC supporters should strap on our blinders, disregard what is going on on the pitch (or the lack thereof) and unquestioningly support our team and our management (KD is not the only one at fault)...this is what you get...mediocrity and complacency...and worst of all denial ('oh no...we don't need new players'...'oh no, we don't have a scoring problem, that's just a media obsession').

I mentioned it in a post last week in response to those who still entertained the whacky notion that we had a chance at 4th place based on our upcoming 'easy' run of games...4th was gone several months ago, realistically we will have a tough time finishing in the top 10. I always feared this Sunderland fixture as well as the upcoming games against Norwich and WBA. These teams are hungry and are in far better form than LFC so, assuming these were guaranteed wins was foolish. Where will that leave us when we play Chelsea and Newcastle?

Should we really be surprised?

* why on earth KK insists on playing 1 up front is beyond me especially against supposedly 'weaker' teams. How can Suarez be expected to beat 3 defenders on his own? Even when we do get a decent cross in, what's the point?...there's no on in the box to get on the end of it. 4-4-2 should be our standard setup. I'd much rather we lose knowing we were actually trying to win the game.

* Adam: can't tackle and is always vulnerable to a card or sending off. Can't believe how many times his crosses/passes/free kicks end up at the feet of the first defender...at this level, that is unforgiveable.

* Henderson: utterly useless and just can't see how people offer any sort of defense for his 'contributions'

* Carroll: a complete joke...'nuff said

I guess on a lighter note: figured there wouldn't be any goals today...WE certainly aren't scoring so, that meant our only hope was an own goal...yet again...only problem: that would mean Bendtner would actually have to get the job done!!

So much for the Carling Cup spurring us on to bigger and better things..it's a sad, sad, sad state of affairs I'm afraid...

Digital Man

Something has to change. Call me fickle for not accepting this display, but this is offensive to any Liverpool fan. Charlie Adam is just .......... I have no words. We are getting worse by the week. Something bi has to change. As I die hard Liverpool fan, I do not accept this lack of passion, effort, skill, creativity and pride. I have a sick feeling in the put of my stomach after today's game. I've just become very disillusioned with this team. Yes, we have at times played good football during the past few games, but we just can't score. We had the opportunity to buy someone in January and we didn't and we are now finding out what a bad decision this was!!....I think the owners will have some serious thinking to do at the end of the season!....We are an average side who are still a long way short of the top 3/4 teams!!......I'm looking forward to the end of the season already!!

As long as cheerleader kenny is sacked, i will be more than happy. We deserve to have a proffessional manager, not some outdated ex-player. BTW, i dont give a damn what kenny did for the club in the past coz i wasnt even born back then. He has made the club a laughing stock. Im surprised he still has not resigned.

It appears not, totally clueless today.

Non of these guys would come to a mid table team would they

We will not get any of those managers except AVB. He might be worth a punt with us having a young squad with promising youngsters coming though.

Kenny is the worst manager we have had in a while. On par with woy. Throw him out. He is a parasite s**ing the life outa the club. His legacy died 20 years ago n believe me, its not gonna come back. I want a professional managing the club, not some outdated cheerleader.

Like Mourinho and the other money spenders.

Rafa would - he has unfinished business, still lives in the area. Supports the HJC and donates a lot of money.
He's holding out for the right job/a big job.
He's not employed ate the moment, so no compensation to be worked out.
We're not going to get 4th.
We've already qualified for the Europa.
Get him in now so he can assess the players/squad for himself.
Work out who he wants to keep and get rid of.
Identify the targets for the summer and get Comoli onto it NOW.

Getting into altercations with the players

Talking to the press everyday and putting his foot in it a lot of times

Saying to the press that it did not matter whether the players were on his side or not is stupid

Saying he did not beieve he had senir management support

All this contributed to AVB sacking along with the poor results Hence AVB sacked for his stupidity {Ed002's Note - No. It was the results and the fact that after someone independently reviewed the training (post the Everton game) and decided that the team were predictable and one dimensional.}

10 Mar 2012 16:40:49
We are bloody cursed for some reason

Cos your are crap its not a curse lol

Got nothing to do with curses, voodoo, withcraft or the alignment of the stars and the moon...if you've got crap players, crap tactics and crap management...why are you surprised that that all equates to crap results??

Crap more like

I have been saying this for a long time now

I truly believe there is a hex on liverpool

10 Mar 2012 16:40:39
DALGLISH OUT!

There I've said it - I've had enough now.

Hessle Red

10 Mar 2012 16:38:53
Please please please Kenny step down and take Adam,Henderson,Carroll,Downing and the mickey mouse cup with you. Zaydan123

10 Mar 2012 16:38:27
I watched the u18's match earlier and they were so much better to watch than this lot!!

10 Mar 2012 16:37:47
I'm not saying Kenny should/will leave but i wonder whether we may see Carra become manager with Stevie as player/coach in the near future
What does everyone else think ?

Hans

we need to move on and bring in a manager that knows how to win!!

I hope so lol would be even worse!

GDS

As if we are not playing rubbish enough, Carragher will teach the players how to hoof the ball...my goodness, can't imagine that.
Someone plz tell dalglish to pack his bags, plzzzzzzzzzzz. fed up of his team selections, of his pre-match & post-match s**ts. he's a very average manager. FSG plzzzzz, get Lfc rid of this man and his stupid signings.

10 Mar 2012 16:37:43
its embarrasing that we have spent so much on this midfeild and its aweful we have no cutting edge and no link up player so the wingers and strikers are isolated 2 holding midfielders is a hopeless tactic unless your trying to avoid the drop !

10 Mar 2012 16:33:22
What a pleasure to watch Athletic Bilbao - and not just because they played Man U off the pitch. No big names, no star manager, no money, no bulls**t.
Just bags of energy, great team play, quick thinking and NO FEAR.
A bit like Rafa's Reds back in 2006 - "Duracell running Bunnies" someone said.
Seems a long time ago.

Spot on mate. Rafa made some good signings.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

I've really had enough now, it's obvious what our issues are but not being addresses. Get rid of Dalglish now before it's too late!

Hessle Red

Martinez and Muniain are big names and will be sold for massive amounts possibly in the summer.

Nothing to do with Sunderland playing Liverpool but I love their workrate, fantastic, and Bendtner, world class!

If our issues need players to fix you know the window is closed till summer

10 Mar 2012 16:33:05
RE: meireless,

I always thought a football team was like a engine, if you thought a part that worked well, you wouldn't remove it.

Parts of engines don't hand in transfer requests.

10 Mar 2012 16:32:47
Hate everyone defending dalglish because of his reputation we have to wake up and smell the coffee that were just an average team and nobody fears us. Some big signings needed in the summer and i think kenny will have to have a look at hinself realistically how are we better than last season ? Were not
ConcernedRed

Agree x 1000000

I'd be as concerned as you if my grammar was that bad! We could have put a couple of youngsters out today and the result wouldn't have been any worse. The thing that worried me most was the picture of Kenny looking more like Roy Hodgson towards the end - clueless!
Dutchmal

10 Mar 2012 16:31:35
Roy had hardly any money a poor squad most of whom wanted to leave and we smash him for his results kenny speands cash with not much improvment and we support him

Is that the poor squad rafa left him.

10 Mar 2012 16:31:01
I love Kenny. But if truly believes Adam and Hendo are the future, then there is no future. Absolutely pathetic. Both are HORRIBLE!!

10 Mar 2012 16:30:48
push skrtl up front, he can get us a goal!
not the best games from hendo and charlie, shame really as their good players

aussiepool tristan

No they are not good players. They are s**t and a blind man could see that.
kopfiend 1978 ynwa

If they are good players why do they play like crap game in and game out?? By my calculation, that makes them crap players.

10 Mar 2012 16:30:36
I never really fancied Adam but at the price we paid I thought he may be a decent squad addition.
I should have trusted my initial opinion cos he's s**te!
Players we MUST buy in the summer
CB
CM
CF x 2
RW

I don't think a CB is needed we are quite strong in that area but i agree with everything else
Hans

10 Mar 2012 16:30:14
not looking good for even thursday night football at the moment

Dont we get into the europa league by winning the carling cup? {Ed002's Note - Yes.}

I thought winning the Carling Cup got us into Europe?
KernowRed {Ed002's Note - It does.}

Wake up - We already have thursday night football from the mickey mouse cup

We have Europa next season due to the Carling Cup

Sadly......we already have Thursday night football to look forward to. Courtesy of the Carling Cup!

10 Mar 2012 16:28:06
at last Kenny has done something right by taking Adam off

10 Mar 2012 16:27:53
We have spent 100 million on garbage this is a disgrace no passion at all, if people are actually happy with what they are seeing then they are clueless and I'm fed up of plp going on about KD cause he's won the Cup against Cardiff wow, Liverpool is much bigger than that and some players have to relies for who they are playing for, Adam will never be good Henderson is like a headless chicken wake up plp we are crap and there is no future with daglish

You have to start somewhere give it a chance, it's not even been a full season for some of them and they have a cup in the bag already, it'll happen.
KernowRed

Yes I agree maybe they do need time but u excpect them to at least play with passion and honour the Badge on the T-shirt Liverpool is when of the most historical teams on the planet

King kenny my ar*e he hasn't got a clue. Carroll gerard downing on d bench.we nearly lost d carling cup to a mickey mouse club we threw the game away against arsenel and got ran rag'ed against sunderland.wake up people this man is a useless manager.he hadn't the scruples to buy a striker in janury.clueless clueless clueless.on your bike kenny.

10 Mar 2012 16:35:27
Watching us play today is the exact opposite of watching Barcelona play the other night.

We are so poor with the ball, no creativity, no movement, passing too slow, passing too predictable........Just not good enough.

10 Mar 2012 16:34:37
clogging the midfield with only average players makes us only very average

10 Mar 2012 16:24:06

im getting really bored of watching us this season
we jus seem really crap

10 Mar 2012 16:24:00

10 Mar 2012 16:23:07
2 points infront of sunderland and 30 behind the mancs.

Good enough ?

1 nil down and still no change from Liverpool

I agree but you are not aloud to say it here.

Never walk alone, have a european team flying a liverpool flag

Slovakia, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, England, Scotland, Uruguay

What would you expect, why isnt carragher in the team anymore?

10 Mar 2012 16:22:53

10 Mar 2012 16:22:44
we have really seen what kk's signings are mad of today. NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR LIVERPOOL

10 Mar 2012 16:22:39
Pele and Maradonna would fail to score in this Liverpool team. Service to front players is awful.

does anyone knwo where i can watch football online. Its getting stupid. most of the sites are now closed. {Ed002's Note - myp2p.pe}

Firstrowsports.eu has it all, not that you would have wanted to watch todays game, shocking

10 Mar 2012 16:21:45
Once again another dire performance and inevitably we find ourselves behind.
The summer spending has set us backwards a long way, fair to say we wont be competing for the top 4 next season either. Now with the likes of Newcastle performing well and rumours of a takeover at Villa even finishing in the top 6 will be a major challenge.
Sad reality but Liverpool are a spent force.

10 Mar 2012 16:21:42
1-0 down against sunderland. our season is over already and we wont get champions league football next season. useless players that need to go. we might aswell focus on the fa cup and try to get the double.

If they werent wearing liverpool tops you'd have thought that team were going down its humiliating that greatest club in english football has adam and spearing starting in the midfield. we're not even scaring any opponents anymore. not even messi will make our team good becus he wont get any service i would be suprised if suarez stays at this team

10 Mar 2012 16:21:33
Liverpool are playing as though they have nothing to play for. Sunderland, although have improved, should really not be able to make us look this poor. Some players in the Liverpool side are just not up to standard, I don't even have to name them, people know who they are. Boy I hope we've got some decent targets for the summer, otherwise we could be saying the same things next season. Just not good enough. YNWA

10 Mar 2012 16:21:18
Sunderland scored,

10 Mar 2012 16:21:07
Disastrous...poor, just poor. No creativity, no passion, just plain poor.We ain't going forward but we're as poor as Woy's Liverpool.

10 Mar 2012 16:25:48
Kenny begging you gerrard and carroll for adam and kuyt

10 Mar 2012 16:24:59
I agree Adam is awful

10 Mar 2012 16:24:57
without Gerrard there is absolutely no creativity in the midfield. The only one playing even mildly attractive football is Henderson they need to tighten things up if they want even a draw.

10 Mar 2012 16:20:45
Such a poor performance. Something is wrong at Liverpool.
When 4th is unachievable you know you have problems.

The midfield look like they don't care its so poor its disapointing charlie adam I'm trying to like him but he doesn't do himself any favours , this post isn't me saying what a crap team we've got its just showing my disapointment.

10 Mar 2012 16:19:55
Are we really better off than where we were last season. football is ok but playing decent football doesn't win games. We need a top class manager in charge and the only person to bring liverpool forward is in Madrid at the mo. No more champions league for another few years.

10 Mar 2012 16:19:35
I am in favour of Dalglish, but I dont understand the team choice today.

We dominated Arsenal last week. Why the hell are we playing Coates and leaving out Carra. Why isn't Downing playing?

We can't get any consistency because we throw out a new squad/formation every week. If something works, work with it.

RuncornRed

10 Mar 2012 16:17:25
1-0 ... an unlucky goal, i'm slowly seeing similarities between this season and the 09/10 season, but we scored more goals

Hans

10 Mar 2012 16:16:42
1-0 bentner(spelling)
Campbell with a low shot, hit the post, and bentner there to rebound it with no defenders pressuring him but Jose Enrique

10 Mar 2012 16:15:58
Who didn't see that coming?

10 Mar 2012 16:14:27
No movement.
Not quick enough to get players high up the pitch.
Playing for a draw???

Get Carroll on to play up top with Bellamy.
Put Suarez on the left and Gerrard on the right.
Henderson in the middle with Adam

That should see an improvement

10 Mar 2012 16:13:17
M. Škrtel seems to be in the best form of his life, its a shame he is in a team unable to match his form. This seems to be a game for A. Carroll, I saw sunderland really get stuck into Newcastle last week. We cant let them do that to us today. It would be better having a better guy up front on turner. Turner makes enough mistakes to let someone score.

10 Mar 2012 16:13:10
Will someone tell Adam that Liverpool are wearing black today not red

10 Mar 2012 16:12:04
Looks like its Thursday night football next season on today's performance....

10 Mar 2012 16:10:54
I think we may have taken KK's 'win ugly' comment a little too literally...

Kenny is a good looking guy. we should bring back the Posh Spice boi's of liverpool

10 Mar 2012 16:08:22
I was very pleased with the effort lfc showed. show support for the team. A football club seems to a be magnet for negative feelings. I'm amazed how clubs fall apart due to negative feeling,

Very little between the players these days. Its more about managing emotions than the body. Man utd are not a better team than LFC. They just have a different way of thinking about winning the league. Been their done that and this is how we continue to win. We manage our championship season. We know we are going to win.

Look at the league mate

Gazman

10 Mar 2012 16:06:21
People say let's buy class players in summer, but didn't we buy so called class players in summer gone, didn't KD spend millions of owners money to buy this players who everyone now are not happy with them, how can anyone still trust that if we go into market and spend millions on average players, would owner trust KD with their money?spending all those money what we win is carling cup, again on luck as we didn't perform well to win in 120mins,wether people like or not owners will question KD's ability to manage LFC,so all those wishing for class players think twice, see what we bought in last summer then think would you trust KD buys again?????even if we win today,I said before I can't watch liverpool under KD anymore, how he made us played second half of last season,I though can't wait for new season, and what I get, poor football,no difference in KD or RH,if RH had money to spend maybe he would have bough slightly decent players like meireless, whom I think we miss him, what he gave us last season,we are missing, again its my opinion

I know what you mean he is giving Chelsea so much quality performaces this season isn't he??????

There is way too much wrong with what you have said to pick it apart bit by bit, but to select a few of your points, remember kenny bought enrique who has been excellent this year, suarez who has also been very good, now to the meireles point, im surprised ed001 isnt all over this, he had about 4-5 good games, but he bottled any tackle he wasnt a massive favourite to win, that cost us some games last year and has cost chelsea this year, go and have a look on the page see what they think of him.

Andy C

10 Mar 2012 16:04:13
How can anyone come n stand for a manager that buys a 35M striker who was struggling left, right n centre and then when finally he comes into some sort of form he is dropped on bench for 2 consecutive games.

Forget king kenny just for a change thing about LFC n its manager.

Also 30 league goals this season?
Only goal that we may score is through either suarez or OG.
Red indian

We hit the post 21 times this season. If those had gone in you would not be whining. Face it. Luck's not on our side this season.

Keith YNWA

Keith,

So, now our miserable state is down to luck? Do you know how pathetic a defense that is?

Good teams make their own luck...they don't whine about not having it.

10 Mar 2012 15:58:01
We have been a joke for 20 years never mind todays game. We need to sign players with flair...

10 Mar 2012 15:52:39
We will finish this season lower than 7th.
Last summers additions and Andy Carroll have set us back.
How we didnt get a striker in summer or jan I will never know.
Kenny got us a cup but surely now is the time to retire.

10 Mar 2012 15:59:40
Judge Kenny at the end of the season.

10 Mar 2012 15:56:37
Sunderland the better team what is adam doing giving away so may free kicks hendo makes poulson look good kenny needs his p45 useless manager leaving his biggest waste of money on the bench. He has not got a clue how to build a team or any tactics to win a match USELESS

10 Mar 2012 15:56:33
Everton: The peoples Club
Liverpool: Glory Hunters from 1970s + around the world
Man Utd: Utd Did it Better

How come Everton never been taken over as a football club? (oil money) Have the players bleed the club dry? If everton ever fall into a relegation battle, it could mean the end of the club.

Poor financial management, a club with average players that take huge wages.

10 Mar 2012 15:56:04
We really are aweful to watch. If Kenny can't even get us to play like a tream then who can? Nobody. We just are terrible,it's march and we still can't win or score a couple of players we signed are just far to poor .. dont need to name these players as we all know who they are.

Reckon Rafa could!

10 Mar 2012 15:52:29
We need to get an attacking coach SteveClarke is too defensive. We play attacking football but play it defensively. Not enough players getting in box. We always have players back in abundance but going forward zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Sort it out kk its s**te.

10 Mar 2012 15:52:21
Someone explain why Henderson gets a run more than anyone besides enrique? What does he do, really? I don't even care about the amount of money spent on him but really again what does he do? Maybe down the road he will bring some game but now he just takes up space for me.

10 Mar 2012 15:51:46
Poor decision by ref to give free kick against Adam when he was clear, good chance for Suarez goes close Sunderland very physical and lots of free kicks not too much football being played if this is how O'Neil lines his teams up glad he never came to us. Again fullbacks seem to be missing whats gone wrong with Enrique

Would be nice if we actually looked threatening very poor so far second best....

Jesus our midfield is very very poor, c'mon KD your team selections of late are very questionable, you are leaving yourself wide open for criticism..

What's the crack with Carroll, he was finding his feet and since Suarez return Carrolls gone into the wilderness?

Curled1

Kenny aint got a clue we have the worst conversion rate in the prem and no forward in jan laughable manager useless tactics sunderland are the better team all over the pitch

Keeping him for the game against everton perhaps?

Kaizer

10 Mar 2012 15:40:46
Why oh why is Jose Enrique so hesitant to release the ball?
Watch him, he cost us a goal vs United at home with it but still hasn't learned.
Can someone please tell him to clear the ball & don't be afraid to hit it first time.
Unreal!

10 Mar 2012 15:38:57
We should go out and buy two class players in the summer and i think that we need a striker that is going to score goals. Don't get me wrong the amount of games that we have drawn isn't good enough. So i would like to think that we could attract Klaas Jan Huntelaar who is in amazing form and with stats of 41 games and 36 goals i think that he would be able to fill that hole and then i believe that we need a right/left winger that can add something else is arjen robben who is not happy with life in Germany at the moment and is apparently is available for £10 million so why not go for the pair who both play for holland and maybe Kuyt could turn them in the direction of this club as they are all great friends in the holland camp

imagine this as an attacking four with the rest of the team picked
Huntelaar
Robben -Suarez- Kuyt
Lucas-Gerrard
Enrique-Agger-Skrtel-Johson

Is Carroll injured?
Has he been caught doing something he shouldn't?

It's just that he played a few games in a row and was starting to look like he was finding some form and now hasn't played for a fair few games.

Really can't understand it????

£35m asset not being used??

So when he plays horribly we dont have to hear about how bad of a buy he was for 35 million anymore.

10 Mar 2012 14:59:23
We have a great chance at getting 3 points today, Especially as the beachball hasnt even made the bench

10 Mar 2012 14:58:31
So no Carroll AGAIN!
Are the Carroll lovers ready to admit that maybe Kenny has realised he got it wrong? This isn't a slur on the King because all managers make mistakes in fact it's nice to think that maybe KK can see his error.
Was never good enough, isn't good enough, won't ever be good enough, so ship him out Kenny and buy a real talent

10 Mar 2012 14:52:44
Ed002 please,
A bit of an inopportune time to ask, and it's not specifically LFC, but a query on the take-over of football clubs by a consortium ; in these cases, who is the "fit and proper person" test carried out on ?
I remain your occasionally foul-mouthed and bad tempered servant, The Real KB {Ed002's Note - The test is carried out on all declared owners - which is anyone holding over 10% of the club.}

Cheers ed. So potentially Ticketus at Rangers ? Strange one that..
The Real KB {Ed002's Note - I don't know how they plan to structure the proposed consortium and subsequent ownership.}

Hi edd i know it's far off Summer transfer window but how much funds do you think will be available for new recruitments {Ed002's Note - I don't suppose there will be a hard and fast amount. Much will depend on what whether or not Champions League is attained and who leaves.}

10 Mar 2012 14:19:38
Hmm andy Carroll will never improve to be the best that he van if he doesn't play and once again that is the case. He is pointless at the club sitting on the bench as he is not an impact player and he needs all the time he can get to improve and I believe that he can but at Liverpool he won't become that great player everyone used to say he could be; shearer etc it's not going to happen sitting on the bench against his lifelong rivals
Disappointed in kk's team again. We are all desperate to see andy become the best but here it's just not going to happen
I know that I will get killed for the post but it's true he hardly starts and when he hit form he was dropped again and again
No doubt he will come on in the 92nd minute when we have needed a gaol for ages
JP

Don't slate the team before they've even played. We outplayed Arsenal. Arsenal are a far better team than Sunderland and they have their best players missing. Let's back the team.

BthekingB

Totally agree. For Carroll it must be very frustrating, as one imagines he's working hard in training listening and learning only to end up on the bench. Interesting to see if Henderson steps up to the plate and actual puts in a fee justifying performance against his old club.

dave in spain

Now we can start to slate them how can we go from being so good v gunners to being so bad against a weakend sunderland team?

Why are the LFC Editors so up themselves about posting banter from other fans on their banter page? On our site we even have posts from fans of the sworn enemy (AFC) and thats what its about but seeing a post on here that even mildly takes the p out of LFC is as rare as seeing posters of Sigmund Freud in the Practical Poultry magazine! If you want a "We unquestioningly love LFC" page have one, but don't call it a banter page because it isnt. Wheres the famous scouse sense of humour we hear so much about?Spur67 {Ed002's Note - The Liverpool "banter" page gets a considerable amount of input from their buddies in Manchester. If there is "decent" banter that avoids the pitfalls of being abusive or just plain nonsense then it will get posted. Certainly I have no interest in protecting the Liverpool fans from decent rasping banter and they are generally good natured about it and pop along to the Manchester United banter page and give as good as they get. I had to amend your analogy as we have no interest in raising the subject of religion. I do hope this goes some way toward addressing your concerns.}

Fair enough, point taken about the Freud analogy but I thought my one was funnier (I'm not religious myself) as regards posting banter, hmmm, I replied to some LFC banter recently without being abusive etc but not posted, I suspect cos it mentioned a certain 4-0 result at WHL earlier this season! All the best for the run in boys. Spur67 {Ed002's Note - I am surprised that it did not get posted then. Perhaps the Liverpool supporting editors are becoming fickle in their old age.}

I cant believe your gloating about a 4-0 win over 9 men.

My question ( whether anyone else thought ed 2 was full of it) was not posted yesterday. too offensive? {Ed002's Note - I have no idea why it was not posted. Perhaps if you would have signed your post someone would have had more sympathy with you. Or perhaps if you had given some examples of your worries and concerns we could help you out.}

Sign off your post if your going to criticise someone who post or edit on this site if you want to be taken seriously.Regarding Ed 2 being full of it is nonsense! altough I don't agree with Ed 2 half of the time wich is so often the case when you talk about footie with someone. I really do apriciate the info provided and sticking to facts and not let people get away with posting blatant lies especially with sensitive issues.Add good sense of humour aswell. So back up your criticism and leave a name next time. Cheers to all the ed's for this site keep up the good work! Now of to watch the match YNWA

Hello Ed002,
maybe Liverpool should offer a swap deal to napoli, giving them suarez and getting cavani instead? {Ed019's Note - No, sorry}

Cavani is worth 3x Suarez at present. He scores goals and doesn't cause drama.

Hi eds what do you think of the possibilities of Carroll leaving in the summer? I heard their was interest from villa?

Thanks
Jman {Ed019's Note - I doubt he will leave. As Kenny said himself, 'we didn't buy him for 6 months. We bought him for 5 and a half years..'}

Sell him now and it will bite us big time when he has matured. He's a top player with a lot of potential and time on his side - you're just too impatient to wait for results. If he hasn't produced in his first year he's a write-off despite his age, right?

Hello Ed002,
putting aside if carroll or suarez leaves, how many striker should the club like Liverpoool have in your opinion - two, three, four? I don't about Craig or Dirk as strikers but more like wingers. Thanks.

Four - and that includes Andy and Luis

John Alberto Guidetti of Feyenoord
{Ed001's Note - the one who is on loan from City you mean? And what about him?}

I really wish people would stop comparing Robbie Fowler with God......I mean, he's pretty good but he's not Robbie Fowler
