Hi Eds,

Hope you're all doing well?

I wondered if there was any updates on the fitness of the following and if there's any idea on when we can expect them back?

Alisson
Trent
Jones
Jota

Look forward to your feedback when you get a spare minute.

Thanks in advance! :-)

{Ed001's Note - Alisson is likely to be a couple of weeks away.
Trent and Jota should be back the week before.
Jones should be back now.}

27 Mar 2024 13:15:53
Great stuff, thank you for the prompt response! :-)

{Ed001's Note - very welcome.}

Nice one, Ed. Thanks.

27 Mar 2024 10:37:29
Out of the 3 other top 4 sides. which players would you take and who would you replace in our squad? 1 from each.

27 Mar 2024 10:58:29
Get rid of Trent and I'd take Rice.

27 Mar 2024 11:25:18
If I could pick one from each club, it’d be Saliba from Arsenal, Rodri from City and Douglas Luis from Villa (if Spurs were to win their game in hand and leapfrog Villa I’d go for Son, despite his age) .

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 11:28:10
Saliba, rice and one of doku / saka / foden.

With konate, Diaz and potentially endo (for rice would mainly be an age factor or slighttt edge on him), but would say endo is a tight call really. KDB is also one that only age / injuries this season wouldn’t be one - even then debatable as when on form and fit is the best midfielder in the league.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 11:44:50
If Salah is leaving, I would take Phil Foden from ManCity. I would take Martinelli from Arsenal to replace Diaz. And again, if Salah is leaving, I would take Bowen from Aston Villa to replace him, or Douglas Luiz to replace Thiago (it's a bit cheating since Thiago is leaving anyway) .

Agree2

{Ed025's Note - i think Bowen plays for West Ham ArAy..

27 Mar 2024 13:12:12
MightyMosive - Doku? I don’t understand that one.
Arsenal - Rice or Saka (Saka is great but wouldn’t start for us while Salah is around)
Man City - De Bruyne (Rodri is useful but KDB is by far City’s best player)
Spurs - Son
Aston Villa - Probably none (Watkins is good and makes Villa a MUCH better team, but we’ve got great attackers already)

Agree3

27 Mar 2024 13:16:32
Thanks Ed025, for the public embarrassment, LOL. Further proof that I don't pay any attention to the other teams in the EPL. 😂.

Agree0

{Ed025's Note - to be fair ArAy they both play in claret and blue mate, just dont be linking any Burnley players next.. :)

27 Mar 2024 13:53:52
Lowe- tbh like the look of him and is young so with right coaching looks like he has a lot of potentially.

Added his pace and with Diaz, love him, but at times can be incredibly frustrating with trying too much or taking too many touches. Other than that was thinking more of natural positions and foden / saka both play right and salah is levels above both.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 16:48:44
if mo Salah leaves in the summer then Bowen would be on the sshortlist.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 17:28:59
@Kop That - Bowen is a good player but he is 28 this year so can’t see us going for him. It would be good to go for someone younger who is good but with plenty of room to improve further.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 17:55:43
Declan Rice
Phil Foden
Van De Ven
Saka.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 18:04:22
This has turned into some kind of joke post 😳.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 19:15:34
Most the replies seem to fail the OP’s actual question, with some listing 2-3 players from Arsenal etc and some even choosing players from outside the top 4 😂

Wdw, do Liverpool really need another 2 CM’s in Rodri and Douglas luiz?

Agree1

28 Mar 2024 08:32:46
Rice
Kdb
Van der ven
Luiz.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 09:00:20
So Robbo injured playing for Scotland and may miss the next few games . I hate international football with a passion. Dull turged predicatale and not in the slightest bit entertaining. All you can hope for is your players don't get injured whilst away and unfortunately one of our key one has. Let's hope its not to serious.

27 Mar 2024 10:18:12
Whats worse is players being asked to play both games at this stage of the season in relatively pointless friendlies.

Agree7

27 Mar 2024 11:26:51
Exactly, Semibythesea3. Apparently, you're not allowed to rotate during int'l friendlies these days. Not sure that's a rule, tho.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 11:54:51
I am sure England would be in division 2 or lower if they played in club football so weird how bad they are. It’s actually hilarious.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 13:17:59
Would you classify England as lower than Bayern Munich or higher? 😵.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 14:01:45
Man City players always seem to get a ‘knock’ when international friendlies come along. Maybe we should jump aboard.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 17:43:14
@Darwins, Walker and Stones were both injured in the friendlies.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 07:56:42
Lots of discussions about Trent which got me thinking. I know we probably need a like for like replacement for Mo (which is probably impossible) but does anyone think Trent could do a job there with Conor behind/ overlapping him? I'd like to try it to see if it could work.

27 Mar 2024 08:38:44
Yeah let’s stick vvd up front aswell he scored a goal once.

Agree6

27 Mar 2024 08:43:38
I could see Trent playing as the 10 in a new formation but not on the wing. You need searing pace and tricky to break the line out wide.

Agree6

27 Mar 2024 10:14:37
Nah. Loke, I’m sure Trent can do a job like how Fabinho did a job at CB for a few games. But players need to be played where there strengths are and imo where they can buy in and have the biggest impact on the team. RW would be to fill a gap not a long term replacement for Mo.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 11:29:39
I think TAA would be the playmaker as one of the two in a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 formation. Not sure if we will ever play the formation but he might get a chance to showcase in Gareth’s side at the Euros.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 11:30:52
Spot on, @Faith. Why would I want to play a player in another position just to "do a job" when we can play him at his best position and sign an actual specialist at the position we want him to "do a job at"? Never understood that logic, personally.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 11:56:10
Trent is a central midfielder and that’s that.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 18:56:39
The only person not to see it is the very successful professional Footballer manager Jurgen Klopp.

For a player who’s not a right back Trent’s done alright there over the years.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 21:09:56
Trents a rightback, ever since he made his debut. don't think he would ever be a regular for us in the middle.

Agree0

Kostas Tsimikas

27 Mar 2024 07:52:52
{Ed's Note - Ed001 has posted a new player profile about, Kostas Tsimikas

27 Mar 2024 09:08:32
On the point of rashness Ed, don't you think Robertson also sometimes got the same problem? He likes charging up the field trying to win the ball and sometimes didn't come close to it and left our CB exposed. Seen it quite few times last and this season.

Agree2

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

27 Mar 2024 09:28:59
You think that's down to our very own tactic of trying to win the ball higher up field or just both player's own traits?

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 10:15:47
I’m pretty sure Klopp has commented after games that players need to make the decision about when to press and how. I do think Robbo presses and misses a lot more than he is criticised for. Especially when considering the amount of criticism his mate on the other wing gets 🫶🏼.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 11:02:41
I’m not buying the “it’s Klopp’s instructions” logic. Klopp likes his players to use their brains when playing, and Robertson’s pressing mistakes are usually are sign of the opposite. At 30 years old and with 6 years as the starting left back in Klopp’s team, he shouldn’t be making errors like that anymore.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 17:08:12
Robbo plays with a lot of passion but he is too headstrong . too many injuries now . if we really want to win this league then we have to keep on improving the squad and first team . I do think the left back from Fulham would improve us.

Agree0

26 Mar 2024 18:49:30
This is going to go down really well but if anyone actually took the time to watch a certain style of football Lee carsley would be right up there. I'm waiting.

26 Mar 2024 21:11:54
A manager going from England u21 to one of the biggest club jobs in football. What could possibly go wrong?

Agree3

26 Mar 2024 23:07:26
You jumped too high there Acered.

I hope he takes the Irish job though.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 01:32:32
I'll have whatever you're having mate.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 11:37:25
Acered, these are essentially kids playing junior inter'l football. Come on, man.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 11:37:56
Greggs are hiring.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 18:09:58
We will see never said he is ready for LFC but certainly has something about him and Salah you couldn’t have what I’m on mate.

Agree0

26 Mar 2024 13:33:19
Trent is a one in a million player and Rodrygo's are ten a penny. I would only swap Trent for Bellingham and even then would be worried I have made a mistake. It’s just a bonus that he is scouse. I predict a one club player who moves to an Arab or USA club when his body has given up.

26 Mar 2024 13:48:37
Rodrygo is a pretty decent player but I wouldn't swap Trent for any player in the world.

He is one of our own and nowhere near his prime yet. He has potential to become the best player in the world with the right system, position and trust.

I'm not saying he will but the potential is there.

I hope we wrap up his contract soon so we can stop the chatter about selling him.

Agree8

26 Mar 2024 14:39:05
Fantastic player who is Liverpool through and through but if the opportunity came (it wouldn't) to swap him for Bellingham, I wouldn't think twice because that lads something special.

But yes, we need to get him a new contract as soon as possible. He's quality and he'll more then likely be our next captain. I have no doubts he'll retire with us, media are speaking a lot at the min but it's exactly that, media talk. In other words absolute nonsense.

Agree6

26 Mar 2024 14:51:39
I agree with you Salah. It's all pie in the sky but, if the opportunity were to ever arise to swap Trent for Bellingham, I would do so in a heartbeat. None of us need concern ourselves about such matters though.

Agree2

26 Mar 2024 16:34:42
Nope, wouldn't trade Trent for anyone right now and that includes Jude. Like many of us did, I watched Trent grow up right in front of my very eyes from a skinny 17 year old in the EFL Cup game vs Leeds in 2016, to his full debut away at OT where he got a torrid time from then "wonder kid" Anthony Martial. hmm, where is he now, btw?

Saw Trent struggle in his development vs Rashford the season after at OT (Zaha at Palace) and many gave up on him from then BUT a lot of us never did. Trent repaid us all with his massive improvements and growth not as a player but as a character and role model under the absolute best manager in terms of improving players IMO, to the point of now being one of the best players on the planet with the actual GOAT at RB Cafu a huge fan of his. Simply one of the most technically gifted ballers I have ever seen, period.

Bellignham (and others) is a great young player and I would take him in a heartbeat for sure but only to play WITH Trent. Not in place of him if I could help it. Just my take.

Agree9

26 Mar 2024 18:40:45
Trent is no Bellingham nor has the game to be the "best player in the world". Let's see what happens in the next few months.

Agree2

26 Mar 2024 19:04:55
I’d swap Trent for Bellingham in a heartbeat. Trent is a fantastic player, Bellingham is on another level.

Agree3

26 Mar 2024 20:26:12
Just for fun - would we swap Ali for Jude?

Agree0

26 Mar 2024 23:36:46
Tomorrow West.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 00:48:36
Trent is a boyhood red living the dream added to the fact he’s a scouser. He’s been lucky enough to play under one of the best managers in the world and be successful. if you could sit down at 7 years of age and write your perfect life he couldn’t of worded it any better. Same with Curtis I don’t see them leaving the club unless the club doesn’t want them anymore. why would you want to swap someone who loves the club for someone who doesn’t? He’s give us some of the best times in the last 7ish years keep your Bellingham let’s see where he’s at after 7 years of consistent pressure.

Agree2

27 Mar 2024 07:59:49
My dear Salah hope you're well. I have to disagree with your statement regarding Trent. I see things totally different.
I personally think he's done a Rooney and peaked already. for me we've seen the best of Trent and he should be sold.
We've already got a better player at right back and for me he offers nothing in midfield that we don't already have.
Any my man hope life's treating you well. Take care xx.

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 10:27:12
Not bad at all thank you very much Walter mate, I hope you and your family are well :) .

Agree0

27 Mar 2024 11:01:34
That's what I like to hear Salah. Can't complain people have much worse than I.

Agree1

27 Mar 2024 11:59:42
Where is Trent going to play (position wise) next season. Bradley takes the right back one . n Trent seems to want to play midfield, but whose place does he take there. That might determine if he stays or fancies a move abroad.
