I may get some schtick from this, but here it goes. I get really annoyed when Klopp and Pep criticize other teams tactics. The point is to win and do so the best way the manager sees fit. If it means packing it in and counter attacking, fine. If Pep can't counter that, then who is the fool? City and Liverpool both know that very few teams will have a go, so they have to be smart enough to have a game plan to counter that strategy. Pep criticizing Leiscter is laughable and just shows that tactically, he has no clue. Klopp has at least recognized this tactic and countered. Kudos to any manager who finds a strategy to win regardless of the style of play as securing points is what matters.

Couldn't agree more, yes there may be prettier ways (according to some people) to win a football match but to win is the main aim surely? Pep and Klopp rightly get a lot of credit for what they have done in the game but to come out and criticise the way your opponent sets up against you is embarrassing. Let's hope Klopp doesn't start looking for excuses tomorrow.

OP, I fully agree. Even Rafa used to do that as well when he managed us. Utterly stupid and frankly, is huge sign of weakness. Pep and Klopp are two of the best managers on the planet right now. IMO, Klopp is the best around as I think Pep is on his last legs right now.

Klopp was slamming Atleti last season for their negative tactics which is strange cos we were able to break them down and were up 2-0 until Adrian made a howler and even then, we created enuff chances to score 4 goals and we did not take them so it was our fault in the end. Klopp needs to do better here and stop such nonsense and it is not as if we have that many issues smashing parked buses. You don't achieve all we have achieved in the PL without being able to that.

As for Pep slamming Leicester, the guy is losing it, big time. When a manager starts blaming the other teams tactics after said tactics blew you away on your own patch then, I don't know what to tell you. He is desperate cos he knows he is not the Big Cheese anymore and teams are starting to figure him out and this, since last season. Pep is becoming lazy and thinks the opposition should play the way he wants. Even worse than Klopp, IMO.

Agree stone. We and City are technically better than everyone else so why would they try to play?
But I must admit I admire teams that do try though, look at Leeds they had a go and even though they lost, came away from that game with more than if they sat back and got pinned back and nailed against their own net.

When you're asked about the opposition tactic it's not complaining if you say they set up negatively if they did.

Pep saying that about Leicester was ridiculous though, he started with two holding cms which is pretty defensive too.

Yeah, scoring five away from home is an ugly way to win a game.

Robbie, there are many other ways to answer such questions BUT answering it in a way that makes you sound bitter and petty cos the oppo. did not do what you would have liked, is a huge sign of weakness and lack of backbone.
