Great win yesterday and a dominant performance, only slight disappointment we didn't go for the kill, I really like the VAR rule about keepers staying on there line, they have been getting away with it for far too long.

Personally I think the new penalty rule is ridiculous. The odds are so stacked in the taker's favour. This is why it's annoying to see takers use silly little tricks, hops and fakes. You already have the advantage. Just blast it!

I would like to see the penalty spot moved back a couple of feet to make it more competitive. Or even to the edge of the box- which would make it more entertaining to watch. Imagine a penalty where the taker curls the ball into the top corner?

Also, I think that the keeper should be allowed to stand behind the goal line if they want to, so that they can take a step, springing forwards (as is the natural movement) whilst remaining behind the line.

While I'm at it- wherever happened to indirect free kicks inside the box? They were great entertainment! I'd like to see those introduced for accidental handball in the penalty area.

Stoneage, I thought the GK's were always allowed to stand behind the line, Could be wrong.

Why shouldn’t the odds be stacked in their favour it’s a penalty awarded for a foul in the box.

{Ed025's Note - fair point mate..

But pdnalties should be in the takers advantage. Its a penalty coz you fouled in yhe ares, usually stopping a goal.

But as Danny Murphy said. It really doesn't matter if the keeper comes out a foot. The goal is huge. Place the penalty correctly and no keeper saves it, 2 foot out or not.

Keeper can stand behind or on the line but not in front.
I do love an indirect free-kick in the box. Generally only when a keeper picks up a backpass nowadays. If the ball is within 10 yards of the goal line then the opposition team can still stand on the line. Great fun.

Stoneage that's the point it's meant to be an advantage for the person taking the penalty.
Quite simply don't want penalty takers to have the advantage teams need to stop giving away penaltys.
Think how many times a player one as.

Sorry hit send to quickly. Have been one on one with a keeper and been fouled and a certain goal taken away. Why should the team facing the penalty have a advantage over the team taking them.

How about two different penalty spots depending on the severity of the offence.

If you are punishing a clear goal-scoring opportunity, then use the traditional 12 yard one. Then have an 18 yard penalty spot for lesser offences, or offences deemed as possibly accidental.

I like a good old rule change, just to keep everyone on their toes!

Yes stoneage sounds great. I was thinking we should be playing with a rugby ball as well to add to the excitement, which way will it bounce next 😜.
