Counting down the days now to seeing us back on the field. Just a little question regarding the topic of many concerned about the closed doors lack of atmosphere. I've actually been enjoying it to quiet an extent, paying far more attention to the players communicating with each other and more of a glimpse into their ways of reading the game. Even hearing the thump of the boot hitting the ball with every single pass and then the noise of the ball being controlled cleanly is satisfying to me, it just seems to make me feel like away from all the money, marketing, media, and celebrity status of the football world at this level I'm getting a real kick out of soaking in the simple sounds and sights that you'd find at any amatuer sunday league game. Watching the top professional footballers just playing a game of football in its most natural form is something I'm enjoying far more than I expected. I certainly won't have any intention of listening to the articial crowd atmosphere as the only benefit from any experience of atmosphere and emotion is the fact that it's real and genuine. Without that then to me it's just annoying background noise. Interesting to hear if anyone is in the same boat as me or if you're the opposite and really struggling to watch the games currently in silence.

Har for me fans make football and they always will and always have. Players, managers and owners will come and go but fans are there for life. Saying that though I can go and watch my local team on a Sunday play in front of 5 people and I would still enjoy the game (even though it’s probably at the standard of Everton) . My opinion is The atmosphere inside the stadium is key for the players and more importantly the fans inside the stadium who are enjoying and living that experience. I’ve never watched a good game on the tv and thought I didn’t enjoy that because the crowd could have been louder. I’d love fans to be back in stadiums but until that happens I going to enjoy every minute of watching us play behind closed doors. Actually I’m going to enjoy every minute of watching every game behind closed doors. I feel like a kid at Christmas right now.

I said at the very start of all of this that one of the things that I hoped would happen is that clubs realise the importance of the fans to their product. Rather than simply customers (although there are benefits I believe to that), the passion of genuine fans and full stadiums are so integral to everything that makes football a billion dollar industry. They really do need to remember this and perhaps reflect and review ticket prices to make the game more accessible to more people.

Oh yes I completely agree with the importance of a full stadium. I was referring more to my view that a fake simulated version of fan noises for the television viewer would be more of an irritation for me as opposed to most others who seem to be glad to have that option instead of silence.

{Ed002's Note - Well turn the sound down.}

I guess it all depends on the match you watch. I watched Mallorca v Barcelona last night and they had the fake crownd noise and found it far better than the previous games I had watched without any noise. I also decided to watch it with Spanish commentary just made the game sound more exciting. I'm sure it will be different for Prem games where you will know the chants etc.
