Utter respect and admiration for James Milner.
We’re so lucky to have him and Hendo at our wonderful club.
Two Englishmen who are the best role models that young fans and younger players could wish for, both on and off the field .
Would love to see them as our Manager and Assistant in the not too distant future.

What a performance by that team and the coaching staff. Crowd was superb as well, esp when the boys were tiring towards the end.
All together, helping each other. Summed up everything that this club stands for.

Chelsea away next. I hear we are sending a mixture of the women’s team and The Ed’s.

Well said liver-la, as much as Klopp has been the catalyst for change within the club, it’s been the likes of Hendo and Milner that have set the standards so high within the squad.

I was at Anfield last night and echo all the good things which have been said about the team, the coach, the crowd and Millie. Two other things to add :

The club’s very sensible and fair pricing structure for this game allowed so many more youngsters than usual to attend a game. There were lots of boys and girls, some looking even younger than Jake Cain and Leighton Clarkson, with their mums and dads. What an experience it must have been for them to see a Liverpool team win an FA Cup tie under the lights in a cracking atmosphere. A few more future Reds fanatics in the making hopefully.

Neil Critchley was on the pitch with his team at the end of the game, hugging his boys, pumping his fists and acknowledging the applause from the crowd. I don’t know anything about his aspirations as a coach, but what an experience it was for him and possibly one he might not enjoy again. In my opinion, it would have been wrong for Klopp to have taken that experience away from Neil by taking charge of the team or even by attending and inevitably becoming the centre of attention.

You can argue endlessly about Klopp's decision to not play the first team, but i agree with the decision to have Critchley manage the game since it is his Under 23 boys that were playing. It's just logical and makes common sense. The boys are lead by Critchley in training, and in their other games; so it made absolute sense that he be there for this game too. You can argue Klopp is the Boss but the Boss handed over the responsibility to Critchley. In wisdom, I would say now.

ArAy1069, the points you made about Critchley being in charge of the U23's day in, day out hence, was more needed at on the touchline than Klopp, is ironically what many people (LFC fans esp. ) are having issues understanding whereas it is not that hard to fathom why Klopp was NO needed on on the bench. I know pundits and the media (some of them) are having a meltdown with LFC bossing the world of club football BUT they just seem to sew the seeds of doubt in the fan base and unfortunately, some in our fanbase bought their rubbish, IMO.

I think critchley deserves a lot of credit. The football the youngsters play is fantastic. Even in the villa defeat, thd boys were brilliant. Reminded me of arsenal in their hay day. I think if Brewster had been in the team it would have been a higher score line. It seems the one thing they're lacking is composure in front of goal. Not meaning to criticise. They were fantastic.

I’m playing Devil’s Advocate here but, whilst it was the U23 team, they were playing and representing the club in a senior competition and you can see why Klopp’s absence caused offence to some.
Whilst there were extenuating circumstances, it does undermine the FA Cup and if other clubs followed suit the competition then becomes worthless.

How juicer? We won didn't we? We weren't playing Sheffield utd, or wolves. We weren't throwing the game, or just using it as a way to give the youngsters game time. Klopp obviously believed the u23s could win, and they did. . We were told not to arrange any games during the winter break. I can see the angle you're coming from, but it's redundant.

You have to remember, a lot of us grew up not having European football. Therefore the fa Cup was huge. I think that has some bearing on the fa Cup not seeming as important as it used to. You look at the winners of it over the last 20 years. Most of the winners are the big teams, the odd outsiders. But I think that shows that its still taken seriously.
