The more I think about it the more I hope we don’t put out an u23 side.

I get what Klopp is saying and completely understand his viewpoint about the winter break and no games should be scheduled. But the senior players today didn’t show up barring Adrian so imo should be available for selection in the replay.

Yes, rest the first 11 and a few of the regulars from the bench, but they will still be training etc in the winter break and the likes of milly might be back then so it’d be a good chance to get him some minutes.

As it stands Adrian won’t get a look in so should play, as should Lovren who is now 4/ 5th choice dependent on Fabinho. Get keita, shaq and Lallana minutes, origi should play as he won’t get too many minutes then pad he rest with the young lads.

I’d be interested to hear your thoughts ed001 on this. I personally love the FA Cup and whilst we have a chance give it a proper go.

{Ed001's Note - I would like him to put out the same team and tell them to put it right. I am sick of this whining about winter breaks, just get on with it. It is getting embarrassing now. They don't know what a hard life is and they want a rest! I get that sometimes a player may need a rest to perform at his best, but that is why they have squads and they have days in between each match that they can have off for a rest instead of training. We all know what happens whenever they have a break - money spinning friendlies - so there obviously isn't that much need of a rest.}

Ed01, In a letter sent to clubs from the Premier League in March, teams were told they were "expected to honour and respect the underlining rationale for the mid-season player break, namely to provide their players with a break from the physical and mental rigours of playing matches during the season. Clubs should not arrange competitive or friendly matches with other clubs during the mid-season player break. ”

I agree with Klopp that Liverpool FC should not collude with the FA in dishonouring and disrespecting the underlining rationale for the mid-season break by involving our PL players in the FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury. Just my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - It is no more than showing a lack of respect to their sides - something Liverpool are specialists in. No doubt someone will be scratching around and coming up with some excuse for Liverpool. Sounds like an interesting letter.}

Ed001, if you don't mind, what do you mean by 'They don't know what a hard life is and they want a rest! '
Thanking you sir. ✌.

{Ed001's Note - why do I have to clarify it? It is blatantly obvious.}

I agree Ed, spare the first team but put out exactly the same team again and tell them to make it right. There aren’t any players in that team playing too many games to desperately require a rest, and I’m sure most would be happy to give up a one week break to play at Anfield and get the chance to prove themselves better than they played last night.

Personally I am getting sick and tired of hearing about elite level footballers and there heavy workload.
They get very well paid to have to deal with this situation.
In the real world when myself and fellow posters hit the brick wall energy wise and its only Wednesday for arguments sake we have to keep going until its Friday.
We have no choice.
If they don't want the workload find something else to do.
Good luck finding another career that will match your current wages mind you.

Completely agree with ed1 here, this is where Klopp gets it wrong imo. He had a reputation for not whining about being in compromised positions but since he’s reached the pinnacle with Liverpool, that’s started to fade away, he complains about fixture congestion and winter breaks any chance he gets, and I agree it’s getting tiresome. It’s literally only big clubs that suffer from this, big clubs that get huge investments to put themselves in positions to not suffer from this, there are other teams in English football, that is essentially who these cups are for so that has to be respected. He took domestic cups in Germany seriously but it seems like he doesn’t over here anymore. We failed to beat a league 1 side with a team fully capable of beating them, a first 11 that won’t start against West Ham midweek with the exception of maybe Fabinho who can be replaced by Lallana unless he’s injured, so I fail to see why we don’t just field a similar team, at Anfield the chances are high that we get through, surely we have intentions of winning more that the PL since that’s very realistic this season. Until the FA change the whole replay fiasco then just accept it, we knew this before the game and just dropped off when we had a 2-0 lead, it’s our fault.

Ed01 half this team have been brought up in extreme poverty and some in war torn countrys, little distasteful to label them all as 'rich people' who have had a easy life and don't know the struggle of the normal working class. a lot of those players have lived through worst than any of us here.

{Ed001's Note - I am talking about their life now. They have it easy. I know their history, why even bring that into it? What has that to with whether they need 2 weeks off mid-season? If anything, they should remember where they come from and realise how lucky they are to live the life they do now and get on with it.}
