Sounds like the injury situation is getting a bit better, Lovren, Matip and Fabinho all back in contention for the Utd game. Still nothing on Milner or Keita though from the club, which I find a little strange.

Anyone heard anything on those 2?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed.}

Nothing strange mate, Milner and Naby have muscle injuries and both very recent. Muscle injuries can vary in healing time.

Fair enough Drogie, it’s good we getting a few players back though to help between now and end of season. I always worry about our lack of options in certain areas but I guess we have more than enough cover.

Totally agree mate, having Fabhino, Lovren and Matip back is just what we need.

Is it just me or is naby turning into a kewell situation. Seems like a regular sick note.

We all worry about injuries Virgil but that’s what we have a squad for and so far it’s served us well.
There’s always a drop in quality between first and second choice at every club. Even City although the media would have you believe different.
The trick is to try to make that drop in quality as small as possible and I think we’ve got that in pretty much every position apart from left back maybe.
I don’t think we’re in a position where we’ll ever lose just one player and it will derail us like City did with Laporte.

I don't worry about injuries Becker, there is nothing you can do about it and every club gets injuries at some point.
If someone gets injured it's up to the next player to step up and prove they deserve to be in the team. Adrian did it when Alisson got injured, we beat Barcelona 4-0 without Firmino and Salah.

Of them all fabhino is a massive boost. Gomez has been brilliant. Wonder if he's nailed down his position?

Agree with keita comment. Can't seem to play 4 matches without an injury. Shame coz he was looking classy lately.

We're at the level now where we have genuine strenght and proved we can cope with injuries. We never dropped a point playing 2 months without our top keeper, we've had to use each of our CB for periods when others were injured. We've been without our crucial DM for the busiest period where he missed a large number of games. Keita has only been available for 20% of games, shaqiri also. Salahs ankle problem saw us spend weeks virtually without his impact. OX and lallana have regularly been missing chunks with niggles. And until now we never had a minamino. My point is we've had long periods without our first choice keeper, first choice CB, first choice midfielder and star forward hampered with ankle problems. We've regularly had 2 CBs out together, nearly always have 2 or 3 midfielders injured at same time and shaqiri hardly been available in support of attack yet we've never shown we drop our level when rotating which is why we need not worry about Milner and keita yet, fabinho back and OX and lallana fit with gini and hendo flying we don't drop our level of quality. City have not shown they can sustain their standards without laporte and sane injured while short term injuries to like of aguero and ederson has seen them struggle and fall behind us.

Our squad is currently healthier and fitter than last 6 weeks where we've faced a packed schedule without any of those 3 players who are due to return now along with our new versatile signing. Youngsters have shown also they are capable if needed and can genuinely be trusted as opposed to previous years where youngsters were always a gamble to be used in last resort.

When we learned Alison would miss a couple of months 1 game into the season we all worried it could cost us, we often said that fabinho needs to play every game or that an injury to any of our front 3 or full back could cost us. Well Alison and fabinho have both not been missed in terms of results. Robbo wasn't playing the 2nd half when we spanked Barca, salah and firmino missed out many games end of last season where we won ever fixture. Even VVD rare game he missed we kept a clean sheet against Bayern. We often hear people say what if VVD or salah got a 6 month injury could we cope? Yes I finally think we would. Of course we would miss them but I'd fancy matip and gomez to do more than good enough while minamino, origi and shaqiri have enough quality to be dangerous alongside our other world class forwards.

I agree with you har red. You always speak sense mate. Remember before vvd though? We were awful at the back. We needed to be 3 0 up to feel comfortable as we often caved under pressure, not once but twice in a game. Alison makes a big difference, and I hope gomez has grown as a cb. The 2 players that would worry me are van djike and henderson.
