Hi Ed, do you give us any realistic chance of getting a result tonight at Villa. Just wanted opinions, as i haven't seen any u23 games.

Personally I don’t think we will, however I think it’s a great opportunity for the kids to show what they got. Plus if we do get a result it’s a bonus but if villa field a full squad I’m not holding out for anything and also won’t be moaning about anyone as it’s a big step up from what they’re used too.

We needed a few first teamers to give us a chance. The youngsters can't defend and our best youngster Curtis Jones is not even playing. Brewster is probably not going to play so I hate to say but we will do very well to keep it under 4 goals agains't. This is not Liverpool's second team it's Liverpool's third team without there best player.

My head says anything under a 4 goal margin will be a strong performance - just hope they don’t freeze. My heart says 5-5 and win on penalties again 😃.

We struggled at their place with the first team let alone the 23’’s.

All seriousness, I’m not expecting anything from this game but what a fantastic opportunity for the kids! Quarter final of the league cup away at villa park under the floodlights!

think we will need a Roy of the Rovers player to even get one goal, to be fair to the kids, I only think of this game giving them some valuable minutes in a Cup game,
Klopp will not expect a win so there is less pressure on these young lads,
I think if we keep the score down to less than six goals, we will do well, we will get spanked,
if only we were playing someone like Oxford united .

Half time and we are getting spanked, great start by the kids, I really feel for them, this could be double figures, and no club should have to pay two games in two days,
not going to watch the second half,
hate to see us getting beaten badly .

The lads acquitted themselves well for an academy side, should probably have scored a couple of goals but in the end it was boys against men and it showed, particularly in the defence. VDB looks like has some way before being ready for the PL. Kane acquitted himself well and Elliot looks like he’s going to be special, has pace, good movement, can dribble, shoot and pass. Shame Brewster couldn’t play as I think it could have made a big difference.
