The “fastest footballer” stat is misleading. What’s more important is how quick they can accelerate over 5 to 10 metres as that is what really makes a difference to the game. I’m pretty sure we have a lot of players who do this really well.

Keisuke Honda is the 9th most Tweeted about athlete in the world? Is it Liverpool fans as he's still nailed on to sign for us?

{Ed001's Note - I did wonder that. Then I remember he was released and so was on a free for a while before signing, so it probably was the rumour mill linking him with a move to Liverpool....}

Haha. I've just looked him up. He's now manager of the Cambodia national team.

Good luck with that, Keisuke.

{Ed001's Note - he plays for Vitesse Arnhem, but I never knew he was managing a national side as well. You sure that's right? I think someone is having you on as they have a coach, he is a friend of a friend and she hasn't mentioned him being sacked.}

I think Honda is in there because he tweeted something like I want to play football for a great team come and get me.

Ed001. Check out Honda's wikipedia page. It says that he's the manager of Cambodia and has details about his duties.

"In August 2018, whilst still a player for Melbourne Victory, Honda was named manager of Cambodia. Under this arrangement, Honda will hold weekly conference with Cambodia coaching staff, and will be on the touchline when Cambodia's match is in FIFA International Match Calendar, with his assistant Felix Dalmas stepping in whenever Honda is unavailable. [1][61][62] On 10 September 2018, Honda lost his opening game as manager of Cambodia 3–1 against Malaysia. "

{Ed001's Note - you do realise wiki can be edited by anyone to say any old nonsense ?}

I found a japanese media article from 2018/ 9/ 11 that refers to him as the defacto head coach but another article that calls him the deputy head coach (when they got pumped 14-0 by Iran) . Both articles were written in japanese so Im relying upon google translate but his twitter feed does have references to him being involved with the cambodian team.
