Ed001 I remember you saying before Trent would be looked at in midfield

Has that changed because of how well he has done

If so it's good and bad good because he's doing so well bad because he could be a world class midfielder with the passing and shot he has.

{Ed001's Note - for now it has yes. But plans can change. At the moment we don't really have another right back to slot in, so he has to play there. If we got one in or one comes through the academy, then they might well look again at him in midfield.}

Ed, in your view are we right to be so confident about Trent?
I ecstatic about him, personally, he is beginning to dictate entire matches from right-back.

{Ed001's Note - Trent is a fantastic player and he is improving, we have every right to talk him up. He still lacks a bit defensively, but that is improving too. He is much better one-on-one than he was last season even. We should be delighted that we are so lucky to have him.}

The way he plays, I still can't believe he's only 19. He might look a bit thin, but he seems to be quite strong, and agile too.

I couldn't agree more Ed, what I love most about him is his work rate, he puts 100% in all the time, no messing about and he's constantly getting better and better, we've got a future legend in him imo. At such a young age, we have a lot to look forward to.

Trent is the KDB of right backs! Unbelievable passing range and delivery. And then you add his passion and loyalty for Liverpool as a local lad - we are very lucky to have him.

Trent is on the way to becoming a world class right back. Would it be a risk to move him into midfield. His passing range and technique is quality but midfield is a completely different area and scenario to playing right back. I'm more than happy for Trent to stay at right back. If we going to move him we might as well give Robbo a crack at 10 and Allison in midfield as he also has a good passing range lol.

{Ed001's Note - you make no sense, Trent is a natural midfielder who played at right back initially purely because we were short there. It was never intended to be his position, he has just made it his by doing so well there. But moving him back is nothing like moving Robbo or Alisson into unfamiliar positions, that is just ridiculous to suggest. It makes you look a bit silly to even suggest that as comparison.}

Ed001 my Robbo and Allison reference were tongue in cheek mate. I obviously took the banter headline literally. My original point was that he is looking like becoming a world class right back and for us to lose that to see how he fares in midfield could be a risk. Who knows it could end up a rewarded risk if he turns out to be a world class midfielder as well. Regardless of where he plays for us I look forward to him being with us for a number of years still.

{Ed001's Note - he wouldn't be moving there unless it was because we had another top class right back. So it would be little to no risk if it happened. Not that I see it happening now as he has come on so well in the position that we are unlikely to find any top class right-back willing to sign for us to play second fiddle. But what if we produce a top quality one from the academy? Do you rotate and so lose Trent's quality from the team every other game? Or do you give Trent a chance back in his natural position and then put him back at right back every so often when the other lad needs a rest?}

In 2 years Hoover will be out rb and Trent will be our best midfielder. The right side will be awesome.

Trent should stay at RB. The game is evolving all the time and the fullbacks are now fundamental. He's an amazing player.

I feel if he moved to midfield he would never rotate full back again, he would become to important for us in there as we lack someone with that passing ability

Although fabs likes a ding to the right side.

Its a hard one to call. Honestly Trent seems to get more involved from RB with how we play anyway!

We would need to buy someone absolutely class, or young hoover to come through and be top notch in a few years. For us to move Trent I think.

I can't say I have seen him ever really play MF, but you never know! Im sure Klopp and Trent both know what they want and need :)

Whatever happens im sure it will be good! he's such a top lad. The deliveries he was putting in against spurs were just unreal.
