The more I see and hear of Raheem Sterling the more I'm just glad that he was at a time one of our players. Seems like a really decent fella.

He's alright, Raheem.

Wasn't plussed with his agent at the time, but let's face it, we badly mishandled the whole thing. Nearly certain the first person to open their mouth in public on his contract saga was Brendan Rodgers.

But y'know, he's doing well at City, and we have Mane and Salah and thus don't need him. Good outcome for all in the end.

Purely football, I believe Mane and Salah are way better than Sterling. We got better players after he left and he went to a team that valued him, and still values him, highly. So it worked out well for all parties concerned. I don't see the need to beat ourselves over it or point fingers at management at the time. 50 Mil was a damn good deal back then and it still is.

We ended up with firmino as a replacement so I'm not fussed about him myself. I do enjoy the reception he receives at anfield though.

He seems to have really grown up over the last couple of years and become a top notch player and role model. He's definitly a top bracket player now but like something red says if he hadn't of gone to City we may not have had mane or salah today.

To be fair I think all three of them are quality everyone will have a different opinion on who is the better player but mine is Mane.

Matured both on and off the field and turned himself into a hell of a player. I still don't rate his striking technique but he's getting better and better and played himself into a very strong city team. For our set up I prefer Salah and Mane. But best of luck to the lad I'm over what happened and have been particularly impressed but his off the field conduct.

He’s still very much a system player for me, which is a positive or a negative depending on how you view football. He has superb positioning, times his runs well and is very strong for his size, but he is not a top bracket player by any stretch.
You wouldn’t swap Salah, Mané, Hazard et al for Sterling.
