I'm off up to Liverpool in October, City break with my better half, none of this Rome or Barcelona for us lol. Its man utd v us that weekend, we're staying at a place in Moorfields so pretty close to the centre, not far from Mathew street. Any ideas on best place to watch the match?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester?}

It's been a couple of years since I was there, but Molly's on Victoria Street is always a good shout!

Hello northernbeasle and "better half", CBPST has already beaten me to it the "Bierkeller" facing the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool One Shopping Mall it has one massive screen (as big as the pictures) and two large tv screens, pool tables, sells every beer going, a bit more "upper market" than the ones quoted above, but all the above are just as equal, also O Mallorys which is on the doorstep of Mathew Street. don't go near the Albert Dock unless your a Russian Oligarch! that's where 007 goes? all the above recommendations from posters are a bit rough for me Bond Girls!

You can catch the 26 Arriva Buses (Colour light green) to Anfield every 8 minutes and extra buses of a match day for £8 Total Return for you and your better half which is £4 each there and back, ask for two day riders, you can't use them on Stagecoach buses (they are blue and orange) as they are a different bus company. The bus terminus is right next to Liverpool One Shopping Mall about quarter of a mile from Moorfields. Sample the Atmosphere then return from ground about an hour before kick off, all above bars are all in close proximity to one another.

If any visitor for any home game wants a Match Day Programme they are available from the News Paper Vendor right next to the official LFC Store in Derby Square (City Centre) he sits facing the escalator that takes you up to St Johns Market they are same price as in ground £5 for one. Enjoy your day, fingers crossed we win.

P. S. Editors! A "Big Thanks" for printing me experience of me recent stadium tour with two lads from Buenos Aires they were Buzzing!

{Ed001's Note - you can walk from the City Centre! I used to get the train in to the city centre for every home game and then walk because I had to go to the city centre on an errand and then went to the game from there and we won. It would have been so much quicker to just walk from Bootle to the ground but I am superstitious. Anyway on a match day, even if you don't know the way, it is an easy walk as there were always plenty of people walking there.}
