So we enter into the world club championship in Qatar on December 18th.

I’d send the youth team. To hell with FIFA.

If we do that we can be banned from other competitions I think 6times.

We've never won the competition. I'd like to see us compete.

Having checked the rules for the last one, there’s no regulation that I can see. I’d send a weakened squad and leave our best and most important players at home.

Take the whole squad, have a bonding week or two away, light fitness and rotate the teams, everyone play once.

Agreed Firmane. Use it as a mini pre-season or warm weather training or whatever you want to call it. Bring the youngsters, rotate and it could even maybe benefit us. If we win it fair play, but we shouldn't be going all out for it.

I’d not want to do anything to cooperate or add glamour to a competition run by an organisation as corrupt as FIFA. I’d leave Salah, Mane, Firmino, Fabinho, Henderson, Milner, VVD, Robertson, TAA, Alisson, Ox and Wijnaldum at home for this one.

I really want us to win the CWC. Would rather give the league cup a miss tbh and the same goes for the community shield (City will spank us anyway with half our first 11 unlikely to be involved) .
Winning the CWC, European Super Cup and one of the UCL/ Premier League would constitute a brilliant season imo.

{Ed002's Note - Doing the same for the game in Turkey in less three weeks as well?}

I want to win it. Just for the badge on the middle of the shirt.

To be honest Ed, if we did that in the Charity Shield I’d not be fussed, they’re glorified friendly matches. They’re only glamorous to the organising bodies, sponsors and various hangers on.

A trophy is a trophy in my book and its winning mentality the charity shield is the first tactical blow in the coming season imo.

6Times, that is not how things work at this level of football. The CWC whatever you may think of it, is a competition that we have earned the right to play in and poo-pooing it as a distraction is to me, counter productive. Even worse, saying we should leave majority of our starters, is a huge lack of respect to the competition itself.

Also, I have never seen any team who played in it in the past several years, leave their first 11 or big time players out of it so are they stupid too? Real Madrid used to play in it and played their starters. Is ZZ stupid too? Is LFC bigger than Real Madrid I say, we go in there and do our best to compete and win it if possible. We owe that to our club, the fans the competition and to the sport itself.

Might as well try and win it. It'll probably be the only trophy we win this season.

Yeah, yeah already giving up on trophies for the season before a ball is kicked, I see. Chin up, man. It's still the summer and I'm having a blast. You should try it.

That charity shield is a great chance to play the strongest 11 and gain rhythm for the 1st league game the following week. Isn't there a sort of winter break added this season? If so then playing cwc just before Xmas should not be an issue, bring full squad if fit but of course give minutes to the guys who could benefit from them if needed. Start of January sees FA cup week, so if playing a weak side we can take that week to rest our main guys. Ridiculous to be making team selections in July.
