Saw someone ask about goal keepers for pre-season yesterday and I had a quick scour online to see what we actually have likely to be available.

Alisson and Mignolet won't be back for the early games because of international involvement. Grabara also due to U21's duty for Poland. Kelleher has broke his wrist so he'll be out until August.

There is obviously the young Czech keeper V. Jaros. He was part of the squad that won last season's youth cup and is meant to be decent. He's only 17. He's definitely got talent.

Interestingly though, we actually have a full international in the academy who I'd never heard of. Kai McKenzie-lyle is a 21 year old Guyana international with 5 caps and 1 goal. Yes, you read that right. He scored on his Guyana debut in 2016. He looks much more ready for men's football at 2.01m tall. No idea if he's actually any good though!

Either way it looks like we'll be scraping to Academy barrell!

That was me mate, can't wait to see who they put between the sticks.

I'd be begging to be selected if I was one of the options, get some minutes on the pitch with klopp and it could open up a few possibilities in terms of loans for the young lads.

Kai McKenzie-Lyle was signed from Barnet last summer after a successful trial. Giant young man. Wasn't in the Guyana squad for the Gold Cup, so should be available to play some pre-season. He's with the U23s but I don't know any reason he couldn't be called up to replace Caoimh.

Plain bread - First Belgium game is 6th sept away to San Marino so will be available for our first few games.

1jj, I think you're missing the point mate. We play Tranmere and Bradford on the 11th and 14th of July in pre-season friendlies. Mignolet was involved with Belgium on the 11th June.

Therefore there is no guarantee he will be back in time to play in those 2 games.
