Hi Eds.

I remember seeing footage of Bob Paisley saying the one player he had most enquiries from other clubs for was Ray Kennedy. Got me thinking which of our current midfielders are most coveted by other clubs. I'd have thought Gini, Hendo or Fab would be most in demand but the only ones I'd consider letting go would be Lallana or Shaq (and only if suitable replacements could be found) .

Has there been or do you expect any interest in our midfield? Like the front 3, I suppose every player has his price?

Gini was available last summer - no takers. Maybe after this season some clubs might be interested but it wouldn't be a so called top side.

As it stands at the moment i doubt any of our midfield would be in great demand.

I think our midfield works due to the balance and the ethos within the team, rather than having worldies in those positions.

Whilst I can't imagine any interest for them, I think some top teams would be happy adding a Fabinho to their spine.

If our midfield were any good we'd win something like the Champions League.

The question was is there interest in our midfielders.

WHAT!

No-one would want our midfielders? You mean the boys that got us to 97 points and a European Cup? I don't think Klopp would sell any of them. The only one who he may sell would be lallana i suppose, if he was listed there would be interest.

And Gini being available for transfer last summer, that was just paper talk wasn't it? He is similar to Henderson in the way that he was asked to play a more defencive role although we bought him as an attacking midfielder. Now we have fab he will have freedom to get forward more. I imagine he is more happy in his new role. Two goals in 5 minutes against Barcelona! If he was listed he'd be snapped up in a second. But Klopp won't sell him. He was epic last season.

People who think our midfielders are average must be blind. i've never seen a 3 man midfield work as hard as our 3 do. Whoever plays.

Hang on a minute FlashTheRed, didn't our midfield just win the CL for the SIXTH time?

when greece won the euros, were we clamoring for their players.? Our midfieders are great for us, doesn't meant the world is busting the door down to get them in their team. Oh, nd let's not be too sensitive about this reality.

Exactly Faith, they suit our team but other teams are not pushing hard to sign them or not that we know of.

Traor, Dukek won the cl, I don't understand the point Red. The question is not are they good players.

Gini was put up for sale last summer, mentioned on here a few times, no takers. You might not like it but it's reality. Lallana would likely be sold but again no takers atm.

Couldn't be arsed about whether other teams are busting in the door to sign our players as that has NEVER been the bar for whether a player is good enuff or not. That is a nonsensical argument to make when rating players. There are tonnes of players that are brilliant that I would like us to sign BUT won't sign for LFC cos Klopp does not want them or may not suit the way we play. That does not remove from their brilliant ability.

Lallana would have been sold had he not been injured according to Ed01 and Gini being touted by Fernebahce last season does not mean he was up for sale cos the Ed's NEVER said Klopp wanted him gone. A bit of clarification is needed here.

I would have thought Mane and Salah are the players most coveted by other teams.

Would say so Mikey.

Am 90% sure you are wrong about Gini Red wolf. He had a poor season in 2017/ 18 and was made available for sale, confirmed by eds at the time.

I see red wolf is on the rampage defending the honour of anyone wearing Red. mate, just relax and read what people are saying before you starting making long drawn out conclusions that are off base.

I think we can acknowledge that the rest of the world don't want one of our players, whilst also praising their ability for us. Like I said, no need to be sensitive about it. I love our midfield group, they've done the job so far. Am I worried about losing any in the market, not really.!

Any team in the league would take Fabinho.

Let us not take anything away from the midfield, but it was the team - on and off the field, and the hard work of all - that won the sixth in Madrid.

Whilst I don't think that the midfield are at a level of alumni like Alonso, I think they're a brilliant example to bench players and youth of proper graft. That's if we can ever sort out our issues with youth and promises that the eds have mentioned.

I don't believe the gini fenerbache stories. Players are always linked aren't they. Lovren is off to Milan. There may have been interest, but why sell a player who he signed the year before?

And gini didn't have a poor season 17/18. In the games against city he was awesome. With pipco gone our group tightened in midfield, gini played near on every game, especially in Europe.

Think of it this way; who, from our group of versatile midfielders, would WANT to leave? Maybe lallana as he isn't getting much game time. But that could change. I still think he has something to offer the team.
Maybe Milner if Leeds had been promoted. He has achieved what he wanted at liverpool. Played at lb despite being one of the leagues best midfielders. And i know none of us would begrudge him if he did join leeds. He has been a consummate professional. Always given 110%. Even did a nivea advert!

And totally agree, any team in the league, if not europe, would take fabhino. that's why we snapped him up on day 1. Could of ended up with Fred! Lol.

If no one is banging on the door for our excellent midfielders then im glad. We've been burnt so many times (owen, torres, alonso, macherano, suarez, coutinio) we are actually arguing and some sounding almost disappointed that real and Barcelona aren't after our players!
