Question to the Eds. 12 months ago we were clearly trying to sign Fekir, therefore JK must have felt a "need" for an attacking midfielder.
Do you think we are still in for one this summer or is Shaqiri the player that filled this gap?

{Ed001's Note - we have said this over and over - Shaqiri was signed instead. The only reason there is a possibility of going for one again is because there were a few issues with Shaqiri and the slightest sign of another Klopp will replace him, just like he did last season with regards to Karius. Klopp was going to back him, then he was too busy making stupid videos for his social media and not working hard on his game, so Klopp went out and grabbed Alisson quick.

Actually perhaps we all should take a moment to thank Karius for his idiotic LK1 stuff as, without that, we would never have got Alisson and probably would not be celebrating number 6.}

Morning Ed these issues (not interested in what they are) have they gone completely and is everything rosy again or is the issue one which in all likelihood will return?
I like him a lot so hope it is all gone.

{Ed001's Note - impossible to say. One of them was that, after forcing his way into the team by playing well and trying really hard, he went through a phase when he wouldn't bother tracking back. Who knows if he will do that again? Even he won't know if he will forget himself and go back to his old lazy ways or not.}

Shame about Shaqiri because he obviously has the ability from an attacking perspective. He could be a great player if he bought into the team system under Klopp. Maybe club are wanting for pre-season to see if it is something that will change with him before making a decision.

{Ed001's Note - he did pick it up again at the end of the season.}

Thanks for the insight Ed! Ever since we signed Shaqiri I never really understood what his exact position in our squad is / which position he is covering for.
At first it looked like he would play in midfield similarily to Keita but if he really is that poor defensively he will probably only cover for our wingers. Especially with Ox and Lallana coming back.

{Ed001's Note - it was covering for the wingers where the problems arose as he was leaving Trent on his own.}

Hello Ed001, anything in this apparent Coutinho link?

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of.}

I just don't think that he'll be consistent enough for us on a regular basis for us but I'd love to be proved wrong.

He is better given a free role in front of 2 proper midfielders so he can scheme an cause the opposition problems he can shoot from range, his passing short an long can be terrific on his day, also he can run with the ball an dribble he has a lot too offer just unlocking it consistently.

AB1 - he has now earned it. Won the ucl and golden gloves. Only concern is if he is in an accident and they give him the wrong blood.

When shaqiri starts i am not 100% comfortable. But when he comes on its totally different, i always feel he can make something happen. Hope he knuckles down coz he is a very good footballer.
