ED002

Hope you're well and enjoying your holidays!

Whats the latest with Timo Werner?
Bayern are still yet to sign do they have other players prioritised ahead of him.

If he were stay stay with RB Leipzig one more season and signing a contract extension could you see him coming in for Liverpool if we were to Salah? As I've read the past few years that Klopp is a big admirer of the young lad.

Much Appreciated

Tommy T.

{Ed002's Note - I would love an holiday but there are none on the horizon Tommy. Nothing has changed with Timo Werner. Bayern Munich have a third party looking to act for them but until they are closer on numbers nothing can happen - RBL will look to an extension. He is not a Salah replacement, perhaps a Firmino replacement.}

Why is there a chance firmino might leave or move firmino down pecking order.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think so hailstones, i cant see liverpool getting rid of the 3rd best forward in the world...so indian buzzer tells us.. :)

You are twisting my words now ed025. Messi and Ronaldo are the only forwards in the game that Klopp would be willing to alter his attacking formation for. Taking Bobby out of the team means that Mane and Salah may not be as effective either. If KLopp is willing to break up our front 3, then it would be for Messi or Ronaldo. And neither is realistic so Bobby is LFC's best option.
And he is better than Werner, Pepe, Richarlison, Dybala and the other names being thrown around for sure.

{Ed025's Note - i cant twist words that you have typed yourself IB, and the fact that you think bobby is better than those others you have mentioned is just your point of view im afraid...typical red tinted bias that sums up the modern day liverpool supporter i suppose mate..

That's a shame no holidays. maybe Christmas time.

Cheers Love your work. Yes he does look more like a number 9.
I guess it's very unlikely to happen then as Firmino seems very loyal to the club and Klopp loves him.

ed002 do you see Brewster being the long term replacement for Firmino. I see him moving a head off Origi this year if he is as good as everybody says and the club think he is. There must be something about him or at his age after the injury they would be looking for a loan this season but he does look like the man to replace Sturridge.

{Ed002's Note - No, not at all. They are members of the same squad.}

Indian Buzzer
Better for our system does not make him better than those players you've named. For example you say only Messi or Ronaldo would cause Klopp to break up the front 3, Dybala is understudy to both at club and international level. So therefore by your own logic he HAS to be better than Bobby.

Messi and ronaldo could take up the forward role in our team they could get into ANY team, im not taking anything away from Firmino and he does fit the system and helps knit the front together.

Southern, you are right but currently we have Salah and Mane on 27 and 26 with Bobby on 16. Last season it was more like 44, 20 and 27! Can you say without any doubt that Ronaldo replacing Firmino would have no impact an how many Salah and Mane get? I don't think so personally. I think Messi is a different proposition because he can actually play as a false 9 so he'd take us to another level and I'd even say Mane and Salah would score more. The press might suffer but we'd probably score an extra 50 goals a season so it's more than worth it. That is Messi though. He's not human. He's also 32 however so you'd be trading 7 years of Bobby for 2 years of Messi. I'd still probably do it because that's 2 League titles in the bag in my opinion 😂

Bobby must be doing something right. Every fan base is just as biased and how many others would even debate if Messi and Ronldo were the only players who could improve them? PSG, Juventus, Barcelona and City I reckon. So if we're in the top 5 attacks in Europe I'm well chuffed 👍.

Whose taking anything from Bobby? he's vital to how we play but to say he's top 3 in the world is ridiculous. There are many better strikers than him around Europe and to suggest otherwise is looking at it through liverpool tinted glasses.

messi would help us walk through teams that park the bus.

Ed025, great banter from you.

Firmino devides opinion but fact is that he will be able to wLk into any of the top teams right now.

He is not the most prolific goalscorer, but when it comes to creative output, game intelligence etc and playing the role of a false 9, he may not be on the same level as Messi but then again not many players are.

Firmino would be very difficult to replace for the role he plays in the first team. We would need to find another striker who is willing to work as hard for the team. Not someone standing and waiting for the ball to be delivered in the box.

{Ed025's Note - he does a great job max and all credit to him, he cant actually get into the brazil side on a regular basis though so maybe its not just me mate..

haha true PB. purely in the attacking their he would force our one touch play around the box which I know our guys can do, but often settle for passing around the force field.

Lol at Ed025 using Brazil's team selection to justify his point!
You lost all credibility with that. Firmino has and would have done more for the Brazil national team at the World Cup if he started instead of Man City's chosen No.9.

{Ed025's Note - thats subjective IB, but i have a strange feeling that the brazil national manager might just know a bit more about football than you and i mate.. :)

Does the brazil manager actually get to pick the team these days ed?

{Ed025's Note - i would expect so rugby...mind you i expect he would consult liverpool supporters first...after all they seem to all be bloody know alls.. :)
