Hi eds, reading a post about signing Pepe and everyone seems convinced that he would be rotation with salah/ mane but could we see Salam more up top next season with firmino dropped to bench? Bobby is unplayable on his day but thought he had an inconsistent season, Pepe or another winger could perhaps be giving him competition?
Do you see this as something Koop might try?

{Ed001's Note - no, Bobby is the key to our play.}

All I know is that barely 3-4 months after his arrival at LFC, rumours had already started that Salah was leaving for Real Madrid (he had scored 20 goals already by Christmas) . And the rumours have never stopped. So for me it's a given that Salah will want to leave either this summer, next January or next summer. Is it such a bad idea to bring in a replacement (Pepe) who could spend 6 months or more learning and adjusting into the system, even though there is an overlap of him and Salah being in the team at the same time?

I see Pepe more as a solution for Salah and Mane (rotation or replacement due to injury / departure) .

Any ideas why everyone is even asking about Pèpè Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - because he has had an excellent season.}

Hi Ed001.
Since we are talking about covers and I remember you saying there isn't really a firmino alternative elsewhere, have we made attempts to develop someone else towards being a cover for firmino?
Someone like Gini or some youngster from the academy perhaps?

{Ed001's Note - Brewster, Origi and slightly altering things to use Salah or Mane up top is the alternative.}

Is he that good though Ed? I hadn’t heard of him until this season and he’s had two good seasons with lille and is 23? Surely not worth that kind of money or am I missing something?

{Ed001's Note - looks that good.}

yes he really does. I like the suggestion by someone on the other thread, bring Pepe in for a season and then get £180m for Salah.

Ed01, do you think we are truly interested in Pepe cos he to me, is the real deal but seems a bit pricey, no?

{Ed001's Note - interested? Yes.}

Surely Salah is worth at least 181million. Obvs (and totally not plucked a random figure out of the ether) .

Never understand why we want our best players sold. We have a nice collection of bench players to offload, of course. Salah is the most important player in the world right now, a growing global superstar, and I wouldn't trade him for 181 million.

I'm a little torn on him. Doesn't seem to have the best close control and also looks a very counter attacking player, rather than playing against the low block type.

would prefer a aouar/ fekir type myself but really value your thoughts!
