Hi ed001

Do you agree that Firmino is the most complete striker in the league and would you put him in the world class category?

{Ed001's Note - he is not really a striker in the way I would think of them. Harry Kane is a striker, Firmino plays too deep for me to call him a striker. He is fantastic though and I would not swap him for anyone, I couldn't believe there were people suggesting Griezmann would be better. Clearly do not understand the role he plays or what he does if they think there is anyone better out there at the role. Does that make him world class? No idea.}

in my opinion he is world class in our system, bt would not be in most system. although i've never seen him try to play like a standard striker.

but i agree with ed001 here, he's not really a striker.

Would let Salah go before bobby.

I agree Benny. Bobby is more difficult to replace than Salah. There are a few who do what Mo does. But I know of no player who does what Bobby does. Letting Bobby go would mean changing the system, particularly the forward press.

His roll is tough to replace. A bit like finding a decent defensive mid. It's not easy to find that player. Del Piero springs to mind.

I think Del Piero has retired mate.

Ed001 I hold my hand up to creating that post about bobby and Griezmann I said he was a better player then Bobby and would score more goals in our side then Bobby but I also said I don't think he could play the role bobby does in our team and be as successful but still stand by my comments as a man should lol also I don't think Bobby is world class but he doesn't need to be, to work for Liverpool and make us succesful
I do though think Griezmann is world class but Im very happy we have Bobby like my original post stated
It made for some great debate my original post so thanks to all who got involved.

{Ed001's Note - Griezmann is excellent but he is woefully unsuited to us as a person, as well as a player. He works hard, but not in the right areas.}

Hello ed001.
Is there really someone else who can be compared with Bobby's role, elsewhere?

{Ed001's Note - not really. Only in the way you can compare lots of players to Rush, for example, but no other striker in history has been the first line of defence in quite the way he was.}

Bobby starts the press, listen to all of our players talk about his role in the team. Gini said yesterday that they look at Firmino and if he presses they just follow him.

As edd suggested he also plays very deep to allow Salah and Mane space in behind. However he is never in the way of our other 3 mids, he defends from the front and links up play. I can't think of a "striker" that can do what he does. There care clinical strikers, and hard working ones, and strikers that play deep, but none has the the whole package and the stamina to pull it off. Bobby is also a machine as he hardly gets injured, he is irreplaceable and as far as I know has no desire to leave, never flirts with Barcelona and Madrid either.

{Ed001's Note - he really is incredible and the team is built around him.}

Ravaneli was very similar to bobby. Didn't cover as much ground but very similar kind of player. Ravaneli also tended to defend from the front good with both feet, can score goals, create goals, good link up play. Can hold the ball up well.

I know people will probably disagree but that's only because in England we only saw the goal poaching whingy ravanelli. In Italy he was a very different player and unlike any other player in the league really.

Firmino. Is world class, he has everything. Brazil under performed in the wc, neymar was (apparently) calling for jesus to start and he didn't score once, did he? Bobby scored more from the bench.

World class is hard to define, but if you see it as the best players in the world in their respective positions then bobby has to be considered world class, there are few like him, if any.
