Just watched the play off final, and I know it’s huge stakes, and he’s only young, but that’s what Liverpool is, and judging on today, Wilson won’t quite cut it with us. I said before we should sell whilst his stock his high, and I haven’t seen anything to change his mind. He hangs out wide, waiting for the ball, doesn’t make runs in behind, and looks lightweight to be honest. Wish him all the best, but if someone offers 25 million, I’d snap their hands off.

Had a bad game. But when your two goals down and the main playmaker sometimes you try and force it. It's unfortunate for Harry but he's learning at Derby and had a great season.

I think he would be a good option, a Lallana type option from the bench (not sure he would want that role though) . I’d give him preseason and see how he gets on around better players. If we brought him back and kept him would people let Brewster go on loan for a year? I think a year as first choice somewhere may do wonders for him.

He had the chance today to state his case for a place in the LFC squad but his performance was well below the required standard. Most of the game he strolled around the pitch with very little urgency.

He is young enough to develop into a very good player but I just don't think he would suit playing in a Klopp team. He has the vision and ability to deliver great passes but lacks the engine and desire to fight for the team.

I haven't seen much of him this season so can't write him off just yet, but based on this performance I think his days with us could be numbered.

OP, you can't really judge a player based on a one-off game which is what the play-off final is. Wilson scored 18 goals in all comps. this season which is nothing to sneeze at on the merits. However as we know with Klopp, goals and assists are actually not part of his yard stick for judging players even tho, it is not bad to have good goal and assists stats.

The question with Wilson as Ed01 has said, is that is he ready to do all the other stuff Klopp demands of his playmakers and forwards. I mean, Sadio Mane, Bobbie and Mo are ferocious attackers who score goals literally for fun. However, Klopp focuses more on their ability to create, press, defend and cover gaps when we are defending esp. on the counter.

The reason why Robbo for example, is so good is due to the yeo-man's job Mane does tracking back to cover for him. Can Wilson do any of these? Is he ready to take up that mantle? I don't know hence, he will have a tonne to prove in preseason. We shall see.

i think we are all too much romantics in this instance. i know for me i would absolutely love it for wilson to become a regular name on the teamsheet for liverpool for years to come, everyone loves a youth player through the ranks, there is an element of internal passion associated with it.

however as a lot of people say he just doesn't seem to be quite at the level we need and expect from players to perform for liverpool. HOWEVER i would love him to be able to prove me wrong come into pre-season absolutely gunning for it.

given a lot of the bigger names will be out for a big bit of pre season it gives a number of younger players to prove to Klopp that they deserve a chance in this team.

Transfer fees really do not matter anymore. What clubs pay to the player every week is of far more significance.

As proven, the fee reported, paid to Liverpool for from Barcelona is yesterdays news.

Forget about transfer fees.

I thought Wilson played quite well in the second half and really the only Derby player who could see a pass. He's a good player and should still have room for improvement but not enough for me to make it at Lfc.

Reported fee paid for Coutinho that is.

Get rid. Been saying this for ages. I posted on this site that he went hiding earlier this year and got the usual you can't judge based upon a few games.

He has a brilliant set piece and a good shot. The rest of his game average at best.

I don't even think he is a premiership player.

25m.

Hasta la vista baby.

Sorry to be harsh but we far better off keeping lallana.

If derby had won wilson would have joined on a permanent deal. Im glad he is still a liverpool player. Will never forget that free kick to knock utd out of the cup and he did the "5 times" celebration. The championship is a tough league, difficult often for the smaller players. I think he has a big future. He was playing with championship players, he would be a different animal in our team. Its probably unpopular but id give him a season. If he doesn't make the grade in training and rarely plays, so be it. Sell him. He would still fetch a decent price.

We were lucky ish with injuries this year. We might not be so fortunate next season. Imagine having salah, mane AMD firmino put injured or suspended. Who do we play? Give the lad a shot. I think he has earned it.

Going on loan at championship level made Beckham and Kane but neither of them pulled up any trees whilst on loan.
I think Klopp will give Wilson a chance 👍.

Wilson has a future that is not in doubt, but whether he has the potential to play at the highest level is questionable. I think people saying that he would be a good back up player and help with our home grown quota is all well and good, but the lads personal development will be stunted by using him that way.
If I was that age I would want to play every game I could and if that meant me going to a club that will give me playing time then I would go.
There is no reason Liverpool couldn't sell with a buy back clause and if he does become a top level player he can come back better, stronger and warrant a place in the team.
I wish the lad well, but I hope for his own career he moves on and get an opportunity to be the best he can be.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool would need to significantly reduce the asking price to find a club to accept a "buy back" clause (whatever you think that is.}

Ive said this before and i will say it again, its what Wilson does without the ball that will get him on bench at Liverpool next season.
He doesn't have the intelligence and the engine to impact when he is not with the ball.

{Ed002's Note - He is available to be sold.}
