Starting to feel real nervous now. I know we are favourites, and I believe if we play well we should win, but it almost feels like this year is close but no cigar after the league. We deserve it for this season, but it’s likely to be spurs biggest game for 30 years and maybe the next 30. I see people saying we deserve to win for this season, but as soon as we think like that, we hand the cup to spurs. I know they team won’t think like that, but it feels like it will be a huge kick in the nuts if we finish this season with nothing.

With two teams putting their hearts and bodies on the line for at least 90 mins, there's three factors that are really going to make the difference: experience, quality and belief.
We have that experience of major finals throughout the team thanks to last years near miss.
I think you would it hard to find an objective football fan who would argue that Spurs have higher quality players in area of the pitch.
As far as belief goes, all that needs saying is ‘Jurgen Klopp’.

Mostly agree Virgil, the only problem is you’ve forgotten Lady Luck. hoping she’s also not against us this weekend and we should hopefully have enough.

The difference between LFC and Spurs is the last few transfer windows.

We got VVD
Allison
Fabinho

Give Spurs those players and they would be where we are.

Starting to feel that Barcelona sickness again in the pit of my stomach. We are both in the final for a reason, we are top sides. This is going to be a tough game, sometimes spurs bottle it but never give up like us. My 8 year old lad was crushed last year, I told him to keep his chin up and we would win it this year. 🤞.

OP, you being nervous is normal. You wouldn't be human if you weren't nervous esp. with our recent history under Klopp. But as a former American President once said, "The only thing to fear is fear itself". I am just as nervous as me, man BUT I know for a fact that our boys are fully prepared mentally and physically and emotionally for this game. Spurs are a very good team who can create danger and actually win this game. That is a possibility that even Klopp is aware of BUT you can't dwell on that cos if we do, we will definitely lose.

I mean, it takes a lot of mental and emotional grit to come back from the unfortunate horror show of Kiev and not just make it to this final, but to make it while overcoming immense obstacles to come out of the group of death and then thump Barcelona 4-0 to make the final on aggregate 4-3 after near NOBODY gave these boys a chance. Frankly, our boys are just mental and emotional giants and frankly, they don't fear anyone anymore and As long as I am nervous and they are not, I'm good.

Correct redW we will be nervous but our top players will be more than ready to win number 6.

Last years defeat is driving them on.

Only hope Klopp doesn't out think himself and make a silly judgement in team selection. For me it has to be Matip alongside Virgil and TAA on the right to start. Get at Trippier make him make a mistake and show why he didn't make the England squad.

Cant see us walking away from a season like this empty handed. Two golden boot winners, golden glove winner, player of the year. 3rd ever highest points tally. Higher than any utd tally in the 90s chelsea in the noughties. Nah, we've got this, i know it.

Niceaction, Klopp does not think that highly of himself, really IMO hence, it is highly unlikely he will out think himself. He had a chance to bench Matip and play Gomez down the stretch and he did not do it so again, why would he do that in the biggest game of our season? I doubt that. The defence and the attack picks itself if Bobbie is fully fit. The midfield should be Fab and Hendo for sure. the Only issue I see is if he should go with Gini or Milner. For me, he should start with Gini (esp. since his double vs Barca, he'll be on a high) and keep Millie on the bench just in case he may have to come in to shore things up in midfield or deputize in another position. At least, this lineup is what I expect.

I think if we control the game we have it, but if they get the first, or equalise late, we have the old nervous touch, we are favourites so they will adopt nothing to lose mentality. I’m more nervous this year then last.
