Hi Eds,

A Manchester based friend of mine swears that now Kompany has moved on, City are focusing on VVD to replace him.

Put my mind at rest and confirm big Virgil won't be going anywhere, this summer at least.

Our entire team will sign for someone else throughout the summer it happens to us every year, its a wonder we ever manage to field 11 players come August.

Completely agree, B4TR. I'm sure at the time one of the Eds stated we had to overpay. I believe there were offers on the table from Manchester City and Chelsea that we're about 10 million less than we had to pay eventually (due to our club's poor behaviour admittedly) . Consider that his valuation will be triple what City and Chelsea were prepared to pay 18 months ago and it's pretty clear Virgil is going nowhere!

Anyway, If Virgil wanted to sign for City he'd have done it back then when they were top of the table and we were scraping by in 4th place, about 20 points behind them. Not now with us in back to back CL finals and only 1 point behind them.

OP, your friend is whinding you up, man and I'm not sure how you bought this whind-up rumor, really? There were offers from Chelsea and City when we were in for VVD during the whole tapping up saga. VVD had made it clear that he wanted Liverpool or basta. How City will come looking for VVD this time, beggars belief really. As Ed02 said, maybe he will go on strike again to force a move cos that is the ONLY way City have a prayer of a chance so get him. Did I also mention that City may not even be able to afford him?
