Liverpool are saying it will be a quiet summer but I'm guessing its tactical to avoid paying over inflated fees. City will improve and you can't sit still at the top. The finances of the club look excellent going into the summer after two consecutive runs to Champions league finals. The club also plan on raising over £100m this summer with fringe player sales. Dominic Solanke joined Bournemouth for £19m in January while Danny Ings will complete his £20m move to Southampton this summer after a season long loan. Liverpool will also be saving a lot in wages department by letting the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Alberto Moreno leave on free transfers. Nathaniel Clyne, Simon Mignolet, Rafael Camacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Sheyi Ojo, Marko Grujic, and Ryan Kent are all for sale at the right price, the latter two have an outside chance of staying if they can really impress Klopp pre-season. Liverpool could also move on the likes of Dejan Lovren, Adam Lallana or even Xherdan Shaqiri depending on incomings. Not too long ago Divock Origi looked certain to be sold this summer but after some big performances Klopp has decided to offer him a new contract. Liverpool do not need much but a creative attacking midfielder who can cover the front 3 looks essential, City have 3-4 of those type players and if Liverpool get one in it could make all the difference. Cover at left back would be next on the list.

You have said migs is off, but said we are only buying an AM and LB?
If Lovren leaves we also need a CB.
We also need a RB.

So probably more incoming that you suggest.

Problem is w/ Origi singing and Brewster promised game time makes very difficult bringing any attacking player tho.

Again we're well stocked w/ midfielders and CB unless couple of midfielders leave and at least one CB leaves.

only fullbacks area is needed to be honest and that too milner if he stays can cover there w/ some youngsters getting chance there tho

don't forget we've achieved 97 points in the league and in couple of weeks will be playing a European final, that's how good this squad has done. Very little to improve there tho money has nothing to do w/ it. I'm just happy for the owners and our club getting financially strong where if needed we can dine w/ big boys 😊.

I think Origi should be moved on now we will never get as much for him as we will now. Brewster coming up into the first team squad I think we need to add a wide player with pace to rotate with Mane and Salah. As for the fullbacks with Milner staying for another year, We should give Adam Lewis a chance in pre season before we jump in for a left back not sure about right back I would rather keep Gomez away from there and stick to CB so would like a right back. Do think Lallana should be moved on but with OX back not sure how much we will miss him from the squad. But an attacking Midfielder would be nice to add a new dimension to are midfield. again a new Cb would be nice if we could move Lovren on as would be the last transfer window we would get decent money back for him to and as with Lallana to many injuries even with missing 3 months of the season Gomez played more games than them 2.

Good post. I don’t get involved with transfer fees, prefer to leave that to Ed2. In terms of people being sold, I am in agreement. Left back cover is needed, my personal choice is Ryan Sessegnon who can provide cover for Mane as well but whether he is attainable is another matter.

Attacking midfield who can provide cover for the front three is a no brainier for me in the mould of Julian Brandt. I was adamant we needed a right back but bit in the middle now as I feel we need a centre half, which might be a controversial decision due to how our defence performed. Van Dyke was fit all season, if he gets an injury and Gomez does then, well we are up s**ts creek. Gomez can provide cover for Arnold and it would allow both to have game time if a top centre back comes in. Also it would allow us in games that call for it to play three at the back.

OP, what Klopp said was that he does not see us making top (meaning expensive) signings this summer which means, he is trying to improve the quality of the squad hence why, he is looking for equal options at both FB positions, a no. 2 GK, a CB should Lovs leave, another midfielder if possible esp. if Milner and Lallana leave, and a forward who can play any of the front three positions (like a Brandt, Werner or recently linked, Depay) .

How much all these options will cost, I have no idea BUT to those pumping up Brewster, I suggest you pipe down and allow the kid to grow cos tho he is talented, he is unproven at this level, coming back from a dreadful injury and will need time learn the position. Origi can play out wide and in the CF position so he can fill in until Brewster learns the ropes cos CF is the most difficult position to play as a youngster.

I am saying this now to avoid people slating Brewster if he struggles initial (cos he will) just like they did Origi and almost ran him out of town cos they were not patient with him.

{Ed025's Note - i totally agree on brewster red wolf..
