This site should remain free. There are plenty of active writers and readers who will be glad to donate. I’ve just made a small donation and whilst it won’t break any records I’ll gladly repeat each month.

The whole badge thing is tricky. I want a badge next to my name so that people don’t think I’m the only one who hasn’t donated otherwise it’s not important to me.

I have an idea on how to differentiate. I entered a Game of Thrones competition recently with the prize being meeting Emília Clarke. It was a charity she was sponsoring. Here’s the clever part. There were different fixed amount donations and depending on how much was donated, the number of times I was entered into the draw. £5 gave me 5 entries, £10 gave me 10 entries etc.

Perhaps there is a monthly draw where something is given as a prize and each donation amount determines how many times somebody is entered.

Yes it does give the donator more opportunity to win but a) it doesn’t stop non donators from entering and b) only one person (or two) would win so nobody misses out on the site.

What do you reckon? Prizes could be low in monetary value but with the Eds contacts could be well appreciate e.g opportunity to meet a player.

{Ed033's Note - Hi good idea, but surely meeting Ed001 would be more exhilarating than meeting a player :)

Good idea mate
I would prefer the prize to be meeting an Ed over a player (esp. Liverpool one as I am a Utd supporter, I know it's not our page. ) but would you guys fly me there if I won? Now that's the tricky part, not all donors have to be from England or Europe, these pages do attract quite a few Asians and Australians too I believe.
