Morning all.

I'm going to be doing a podcast and analysis on refereeing decisions, could I please have some suggestions on good/ bad decisions over the course of the season, that I could possibly try and explain why they happened.

Thanks.

I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on some of the diving we've seen this year, especially with the backtrack on yellows that's seemed to have happened!
Not sure on examples, but thinking Dele, hazard, sterling etc.

PSG handball is a good one - still see people debate that today

Kompany on Salah would be interesting too - just watched it back as couldn't recall it and I think it's a pretty shocking decision by the ref, especially as Salah would've been away!

Maybe Trent handball that led to Newcastle goal. Seen loads claim he should've walked even though they scored advantage (although I think ref got that right personally)

Sounds really interesting, do you have an ongoing podcast or is this a new venture? Be sure to share when live!

Maybe something on VAR coming into the premier league and the new rules for this upcoming season👍🏻.

how about the tackle on Salah by Kompany that I thought was a clear red.

Mane red card against city last season.

Mane was simply going for the ball like any goal hungry striker would.

It was early in the game and we got hammered. I thought it was crazy, it was a yellow all day. Or even not a foul. Football is a contact sport.

It completely changed the game. City are hard enough with your best 11, but 10 men and still trying to win.

Mane goal against Arsenal that wasn't given. we would currently be celebrating our first EPL had the correct decision been given although Tottenham might argue that our win against them should have been a draw had the ref given a penalty for Mane (allegedly) bringing down Son in a bit of a clumsy challenge. And perhaps an explanation of Johnathon Moss's refereeing performance in the Man City v Burnley game. some very odd decisions.

Benny, I once read about an incident (I think in South America somewhere) where a ball hit a players hand and went in for a goal.
I am sure it was not clear if "ball to hand" meant goal was legal or not (I certainly have no idea even now)

1 is thus still an unknown subject?
2 maybe rule was changed lately?

1, 2 or 3?
I was a class 3.
Ill tell u a few stories when i get a sec.

{Ed025's Note - i want benny to explain what happened to bans for simulation? everton had niasse banned for 2 games after it was alleged that he dived after a challenge in the box, yet salah and the like do impressions of greg louganis on a weekly basis yet get off scott free?...is it a sky 6 thing?..

I think you’re clutching there Ed. Salah’s ‘dives’ always follow contact on him from an opponent. Yes he exaggerates the contact but then if you were going to ban players for that then Calvert-Lewin would only play about 3 games in his entire career!

{Ed025's Note - nah becker your looking through tinted spec,s mate, salah is a very talented player but a serial diver and downright cheat, the thing is that he cant help it im afraid...its part of his make up..

E25, you prolly want to address your own divers in your own club before calling someone else a serial diver. Richarlison couldn't stay on his feet if you breathed on him and the same for Calvert Lewin YET every time this topic comes up, all you seem to talk about is Salah. Are you obsessed with him or what, lol?
"He can't help it". You mean like Richarlison can't help going down if you walked past him? You are projecting, my friend.

Salah only dived once officially and the other times, he did not based on the r. Did he go down easily after contact? Yes. That is NOT diving. The experts tell us that if there is contact, he has a right to go down. Now when Kane or any other English player does it, it's fine BUT when Salah does it, it's called a dive.

Tell me, did Salah dive when the Cardiff defender man-handled him and did AL he could to stay on his feet? Did Salah dive when David Luiz clearly kicked in in the shin? Leave it alone, man. If you are going to talk about divers, address your lot first before lecturing the rest of us. As the French say, "It's better you go sweep your front yard clean first before lecturing the rest of us on the state of ours". Cheers, man.

{Ed025's Note - richarlison...cheat...DCL naive but has cheated...salah...worst of the lot because the clubs success has depended on that hoodwinking of match officials, you wont hear of it of course because you have this penchant to defend your own players whatever they do...just like suarez...i get it i really do but i just tell it like i see it without any agenda mate..

The current thought in your leaders regarding the confrontation of referees and abuse during those head to heads and if the appetite will ever be there to ban it.
I think its hurting the game down to kids level.
