Hi Eds. This post I inted to all the Eds specifically. Like other posters here, I truly appreciate what you have done here; the information are priceless and more importantly you guys have created such a great platform for fans to share their thoughts, to discuss, and in the end to get to know each other a lil bit. I understand that you guys need a bit of income to keep things running. It was great to know that there are lots who are more than willing to do so. However, I just hope, if you guys eventually start with the subcription thing, it won't be a compulsary kind of thing. For me (probably some others as well), who are living outside of UK (me from somewhere in Asia), to subscribe considering the difference in currency, it will be a premium for me to do that. If you guys start with the subcription, I hope the restrictions aren't too "huge" to us who can't afford to.

In the end, it's totally up to you guys. Again, I would like to express my appreciation to all the Eds for this platform who I've followed for almost 10 years. I hope I can continue to do so for more years to come.

{Ed001's Note - subscription will never be compulsory mate.}

the subscription meant here is actually a donation/ contribution on a periodic basis. its not meant to be subscription for access, correct me if im wrong ed.

im in the same boat haizan, so i understand your concern, hope this helps to clear it up. will definitely contribute to the side ed when i have that extra in my pocket. the site is a huge part of my life and im grateful to you and the team.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, the only consideration would be whether to give something more for subscribers, but never to make the site as it is require payment to access.}

Perhaps some merch ed, hats, tshirts, keyrings?

{Ed001's Note - somebody else suggested that as well. It is something we considered a while ago but there just wasn't the facilities around to do it back then. I will have to look into it again as I know now there are companies who will print to order and deliver direct, which never existed back when we thought about it.}

Keep all the site’s content available to everyone Ed please?
Those with a little more will help those with a little less I’m sure.
That’s the Liverpool Way.

{Ed001's Note - always will mate.}

I think that was me that mentioned it Ed001. How about seeing if your/ others contacts at the club can throw in the odd signed item from them (for free) and then have a prize draw including everyone that's donated that month to win it?

That way, those who can't afford a regular amount can still be entered in the draw in the months they can contribute.

The badge is a great idea, but not keen on having Gold/ Silver? bronze badges based on how much you contribute - a bit elitist.

Hopefully you can get some traction with the squares too.

Why not sell some merch with the advert pixels on it? A bit like that kid did 10-15 years ago with his 'million pixels'?!

Hello Ed,
If you're around, I'd like to share my opinion with you.

Although, I really liked the badge idea but to make it more noticeable can we have a check ✅ mark next to the username instead (like we have one on verified social media a/ c Twitter, fb, etc. )?
If not check mark then 'star' sign or something like that.

The main reason behind this idea is that a badge next to the user name will catch more eyes (as people are familiar with these kind of badges) and that might tempt some to get one. Those who are regular on this site they know what that badge (liverbird) is for but to a new visitor that will seem more like a profile picture than anything else.
For that reason alone I think something next to the username will turn more heads. Also it will give a sense of genuinity or sincerness and will only add to the trust of the reader.

If possible, you can also add a 'contributor or patron' pop up when someone taps that badge. It will give instant idea about the feature.

Really appreciate all the amazing work you all of you Eds put in day in, day out.

Thanks.

{Ed033's Note - Good ideas thanks

Merchandise will only subtract money from the Eds pockets, let's be realistic here, they're doing this to earn a living (two of them) let them earn it without us taking more, we get enough. We don't need more. Just my opinion of course but you think of say a couple of quid a keyring then postage etc to how many people? It decreases what they're earning from subscribers/ donations. This I think would work better if there was a 'Liverpool rumours store' it'd give us the opportunity to help the Eds further by buying merchandise and imo that's better than whatever we pay they have to take money out to buy us a keyring. Keep the donations, keep the subscription option and ADD a store.

I think we've all wanted to support the Eds for a very long time so let's make it happen.

I like the donation idea. And Imo, that should be that. I'm sure many of us here should be more than happy to donate for what this site already is. Imo, as a patron, one shouldn't expect something in return for oneself. I accept subscription is a different thing though.

This site is already full of amazing people and Eds.
And still, if Eds want to do something for the contributors let's leave it to their discretion. Obviously, we can always give our suggestions/ feedbacks.

Thanks!

{Ed001's Note - thank you TRK.}

Just to piggyback on Zed's idea. If you do get donated merchandise, why not have an auction? I've been on sites that did that and have gotten some great stuff.

Ed’s. did you get my post about a monthly raffle idea?

{Ed033's Note - Yes thanks, good idea

Don’t know if it’s possible but how about a monthly raffle for subscribers?
Say you charge £7.99 a month for subscribers for example that would then give you the option to purchase raffle tickets to win a pair of football tickets for example.
Obviously you change the prize of the tickets to falter to what ever the prize is so your still making a profit but the lads get the opportunity of winning something nice for a couple of quid each.

You could still add some extras for the monthly fee, but the raffle would make me sign up.
If you offered a pair of footy tickets for example, costing 90 quid. 200 tickets for sale at a quid each or 100 tickets at 2quid, your making profit for the site and who ever wins knows they haven’t bought bogus tickets or handed their info over to a dodgy site.
