Jose was a disaster for Utd in my opinion. Man Utd was in need of an overhaul similar to Klopp or Pep did, yet he came in and the club brought in older, established players like Inrahimovic, Sanchez, Pogba, Lukaku, Matic who were either short term fixes, or too individualistic to play the Man Utd way. He then ignored youth and created a negative atmosphere and the result is an aging, disgruntled squad that has no clear team spirit or pride. Ole lifted the squad for a while but that can’t change the fundamental make up of the squad.

I think Ole was also potentially a mistake, you need someone far more established and with a very clear vision of how they want the team to play, and then the gravitas to control the players egos and also convince the board and execute it to the letter.

The one thing Klopp got 100% right was to focus only on the players capable of executing his system, and only buy players around that regardless of price (ie. Spending big on VVD and Alisson, but then also blooding Trent and bringing in Robbo and buying Gini who many thought may not be good enough) .

When I look at the Utd squad I see a lot of big names that don’t fit or don’t want to play there (Pogba, Sanchez, De Gea), players over the hill (Matic, Valencia, Young, Mata), and a bunch of fairly ordinary others (Lukaku, Jones, Darmian etc) .

I think there’s a lot of work to do but personally I’d be investing in the likes of Rashford, Lingard, McTominay, letting De Gea, Pogba, Sanchez and most of the underperforming big names go and think of this as a 3yr rebuild as Klopp did to Liverpool. You can’t fix everything in one season. I’d then be investing in younger players like De Ligt, Neves, Sancho, Pulisic as they come available and only bring in the marquee names when someone truly special comes along that fits like we did for VVD.

This was the first season I played Fantasy Footy. I'm one of those armchair managers who thinks he has all the answers from the comfort of home. Out of the 6.5 million playing, there were almost 2 million better than me : ( And, most of them were probably 12.

-You need to get rid of Pogba and Sanchez.
-Get a RB lije A. W. B.
-Get a CB like Koulibaly
-Get a CM like Milinkovic-Savic
-Get a Winger like Leverkusen Leon Bailey or Zaha.

Utd need to spend a lot this summer, just wisely this time.

40-45 million for Wan Bissaka for RB
40-45 million for Ndidi
60 million for Bruno Fernandes
80-85 million for Koulibaly/ Skriniar
30-35 million on Bergwijn/ Neres

This should be enough to get them top4 and gives them a a solid spine and base to build on.

But we all know that a yes man like Ole will continue kissing SAF and Woodward's b**** and their downward spiral will continue.

And it will be glorious to watch.

I think United's first big change needs to come outside the squad, someone with a long term plan who can work with ole to identify the best vision to rebuild.

At Liverpool Edwards and klopp have executed this rebuild near perfectly so far. They've shown patience and waited if necessary for the right option, they've hardly wasted a penny.

Sanchez and pogba need gone first, in a dressing room that needs confidence and fight to get back up to the elite level you can't have ego driven heartless people.

Klopp often makes it a priority that his players have the right personality too, guardiola also. United need to build their defence with a proper leader in CB to start, only luke Shaw I feel is worthy of a place in that back 4.

Lukaku can only play in a team that plays to his strengths, if ole wants to play attractive football he needs to be replaced with a top class goalscorer. Midfield needs upgrade too, Herrera gone, can matic find his past form? Should fred be given another season? Are mctominay, Pereira, lingaard really good enough?

So much to address for United but for sure they now have to change their approach to a longer term complete rebuild, . 6 summers wasted trying to naively get straight back to fergies level immediately. They need direction and an identity.

I think Manchester United are doing just fine!
No need to change anything!

Surly before Man U going buying and selling players they need to look at the mental side of the team. If all these new players come in and 1 or 2 don’t work out are the rest of the team going to down tools because of the high wages.
There’s something not right you only need to look at the keeper for a start.
We all know that buying to meany players at once never really works so they have got a real challenge on there hands!

The problem is are all of the players they need going to want to go to Utd? They are a massive club but the best players will have a choice of massive clubs and right now Utd would be the last choice for most I’d imagine.
They missed an opportunity for me. If I was Woodward I would’ve never dreamed of putting Ole in charge permanently. He’s just not good enough and doesn’t have the charisma and pulling power it takes at the top level.
With Poch making noises about leaving Spurs they should’ve gone all out and promised him the world to get him there. As it stands I only see more of the same mediocrity.

Problem with united is they think they are a special club.
They've had 2 special managers that's it, one Fergie, and one a Liverpool legend. They both could've managed some other team and dominated. Now SAF has gone, it's straight back to being average.
