We have Gomez who will be our CB for the next 10 years and the world's best CB as our first choice pairing, and two pretty decent options to provide backup. Why are people so obsessed with us blowing a majority of our summer budget on a CB?
Shouldn't competition for our front 3 and a fullback be our two main priorities for next season?

Im worried about gomez being fit for the whole season. that being said. if we can improve any position. no matter whom we have to replace i tnk we shd do it. we are in d big leagues now.

whatever happens, we cannot go into next season with 3 CB's (Gomez, Lovren and Matip) with their sick notes. this goes for Lallana and Studge as well. We need a CB, CM, CF, CAM and full backs.

Why would you worry about Gomez being fit? I thought most of those injuries were impact injuries (I think that's the right term used) . He was more unlucky than injury prone.

No way would we have reached 97 points in the league and reached the CL final without VVD remaining fit. If he picks up an injury next season that will keep him out for a few months, it could be disastrous. Bringing in another top CB for me is essential. I'd happily replace Lovren with someone like De Ligt.
