Hi Ed’s,

Just a general transfer question, what bargains or good for value players are available in your opinion.
I know lots of people will say Rabiot etc. as they’re seen as free transfers (huge wages though as you say)
I know it’s a very open question and people will interpret value in many different ways, but with some of the crazy money being touted for players there must still be some value out there

There are the youngsters like Eddy Salcedo, Modibo Sagnan, Candido, Kylian Hazard, Vitao and Emerson of which a lot is expected and already have cheap moves agreed. Then there are those whose contracts are ending like Hatem Ben Arfa, Yacine Brahimi, Andrea Bertolacci, Mario Balotelli and Hector Herrera who will be seen as bargains by some.}

What happened to our interest in simon? Was that his name? The small african winger. A fee of 10mil was mentioned.

There is still value to be found out there. Robbo was an 8mil signing. You wouldn't sell him for less than 30mil now. Maybe even 40/ 50mil when you consider mendy was a 50mil signing.

Look at Klavan, at first he looked a bit of a dud but i think it just took him some time to settle and get used to the pl. I was sad to see him go but as a lcb he wasnt going to get many games. He was pretty decent by the time he left, easily on a level with lovren or matip.

Maybe take another Chelsea flop in Cuadrado or a man u flop in Di maria both very talented players.
I do believe that Klopp will know who he wants and if he can't get them he will wait until he can.

Our defence this season was mainly made up of Gomez, Matip, TAA and Robertson in addition to Alisson and VVD. Terrific value.

Our midfield was mainly Hendo, Gini, Milner and only Fab with a high transfer fee. Terrific value again. Though Keita did not have as good a season as expected. And Ox was a write off this season. I hope we don't get a big money central midfielder this year because we really don't have space for one.

And our frontline of Bobby, Mane, Salah, Shaqiri and Origi are incredible value.

The club seems to have a clear strategy and an incisive approach. Our business in the market has been better than all top-6 clubs over the last 2 years.

More of the same please!

I hope we don't go down the route bargain signings like Spurs. They have done well to find great talents like Dele Alli and Son to complement their young and decent squad, and a very good coach - together they over achieve year after year. But this is not sustainable. They may go back to obscurity next year and nobody will bat an eyelid. I much prefer that we have a great team which is on the cusp of doing great things that they deserve.

Mario is huge baggage but he has also scored 8 in 13 appearances for marseille. so from that perspective there will definitely be clubs willing to take that gamble.

A few years ago most people on here were complaining about the signings we made, Robertson he only plays for hull, Mane he's lazy, Salah he's no good flopped at Chelsea same goes for shaquiri. We should leave it to the scouts and manager they seem to know best, he seem to unearth a few gems wherever he goes, as one of the lads "in Klopp we trust". Hope for a huge slice of luck tomorrow f i ngwrs crossed.

What kind of fee would Ryan sessegnon demand. Back in the championship and his status this season going slightly quieter surely Fulham won't be able to hold out for the huge money being touted 12 months ago.

Still a teenager with huge potential in my opinion, I think now would be a great time to try and buy him.
