Can't wait for Ed's review but a couple of things worth noting from last night

- Alisson is probably the most overlooked factor in that win, any goal would have been terminal and he was 1-1 with the likes of Messi, Alba and Coutinho all having a free shot more than once, and yet he made difficult saves look easy due to his superb composure and positioning. What a difference he's made to the side.
- Matip has been much maligned, but wow what a game. Truly stepped up to partner the unflappable VVD. Hats off and he deserves enormous credit for dealing with counterattacks
- Hendo was my MOM. you could just see what he meant to that game by Klopps face when he went down. What an incredible captains performance. truly career defining, in a way that was so different to Gerard's CL winning performance in 2005, but no less influential. He is a true leader among men
- Gini. just wow
- Divock. he's played himself into folklore with this seasons clutch performances, could well be the start of something greater than I imagined for the lad
- Trent. for any kid his age to even think about that cheeky corner says everything you need to know about both his game intelligence and his courage. To spot the opportunity and move so quickly without thinking about how stupid he might look trying something like that vs Barcelona on a stage like that, makes it clear he will defer to no one. What a gem we have.

Alisson was man of the match for me.

Trent, Origi, Gini and Henderson had great games. But scoreline wouldn't have been possible without Alisson. He made some blinding saves.

I also agree on Matip. He had a cracker of a game.

I agree with the above but Matip's tackle to save a certain goal was the moment of the match. What happened in the second half doesn't happen if Messi scores.

Matip has been called crap on here and been on the end of jokes from the ed and other supporters. They obviously didn't think he was capable of such a performance (I didn't either at the start of the season), his passing was also very good. I hope he will get the praise he deserves after last night's performance.

Matip has completely won me over. I was pleased when we signed him, he started ok but dropped off. This season, the latter half especially, he has been brilliant. Many may disagree but he was awesome against munich and he was amazing last night. Not to mention the league games he has played in. I get the feeling vvd prefers to partner with matip over lovren.

Moment of the game for me was Wijnaldum holding off two Barcelona players and out Cruyffing Cruyff leaving them both looking into thin air as Gini took the ball away.

Absolutely so impressed by every single player last night. Just a quick mention of Matip though, (looking forward to reading what Ed001 thought of him), I too am now a big fan of the Matip Man. The way he contributes when we're in possession makes him head and shoulders preferable to Lovren imo. I don't remember when exactly, until I watch it again, but at one point in the second half he beat an opponent to the ball, shielded it from two opponents, then knocked it past another before passing it. I stood and clapped. Correct me if I'm remembering it wrong, I'm still a bit dizzy and rather wonderfully hungover. :)
