Really good performance and was great to see Mane continue his incredible form and Salah back to his usual.

Only downside is it took me 20 minutes to figure out who was playing CF, why the heck start Sturridge? He was nowhere to be seen. If Firmino is still not 100% against Barcelona then surely has to start Origi at LW and Mane upfront.

Lovely to see Keita continuing his decent form too and Ox back after such a long time.

could not agree more about Sturridge the man should not even get on the bench. I all ways stuck up for him in the past but its funny that in his last season off his contract no injury this season. he started the season off well but I think once he realized he was not getting a new contract he has been a joke the games against wolves should have been his last. but Klopp made a massive mistake bringing him on against Utd and it was like we was playing with 10 men could be the difference with use winning the league as we was so on top in that game till bobby went off.

Shaquiri did really well when he came on. Sturridge is gone imo.

Not one to down one of our players. Infact don't like it at all. But it's scary how far Sturridge has regressed. He looked so out of place in that front 3 last night and seemed to be playing in slow motion compared to the rest of the team. Such a shame as was a brilliant, clever, quick player with amazing finishing ability. Hopefully gets a good move and has a decent end to his career (I would go abroad to a slower tempo league if I were him) Great to see Keita playing well again even Neville praised him a few times! Also feel Mane although rated highly is still so underrated consistently knocking in great numbers in league and champions league last few years, on top of his amazing work rate.

{Ed025's Note - sturridge had a great time off the back of an amazing suarez at the time coco, he has been a liability for a long time mate..

Let’s not be to harsh on studge. He’s leg have gone it’s plane to see. I remember watch Stevie when he lost he’s legs I was gutted but there nothing you can do about age and injury taking there toll.
I totally agree Origi should have started ahead of him but we don’t know all the factors. For all we know it could have been a fair well home game.

{Ed025's Note - a good riddance game would be more appropriate longthing..

In my mind, Klopp played Sturridge because it was felt that Huddersfield would sit deep and he has a habit of scoring against teams that give very little space. This was altered by our very early goal and Huddersfield were a little more offensive than expected.

{Ed025's Note - he was played because huddersfield are a joke and liverpool could have put out a 5 a side team and still beat them reynard..

Couldn't understand why Studge played as ell, OP. He was SO off the pace and tempo of the game, it was frightening to see. The guy is simply finished. There were times that he was behind the play and was trying to keep up with that pace of our counter attacks and he seemed bewildered he was not getting the ball. You think? Might as well have started Origi up top cos at least we know he has the speed and pace to keep up with the tempo and pace of play we deploy.

If Firmino is out against Barcelona I would switch to diamond with fabinho, Henderson, wijnaldum and kieta as am. Salah and mane up front.

Origi and sturridge are not good enough imo. Origi has potential of course but I don't think he 'll ever realize it because he is afraid to tackle. I lost count of the amount of times he closes down a defender and the let's him pass the ball or pull out of 50 50s. Or even 60 40s in his favour. He has become overrated imo. He could turn it around of course but he s done nothing to deserve a Barcelona start from what I 've seen in the games. Of course klopp has access to training I don't but honestly he d need to be a lot better I training for me to consider him.

The 1st choice cf was injured so the 2nd choice cf started. I don't see the confusion.

And let's be honest. It was home against Huddersfield. We won 5 0. Why the complaining?

If city win all their remaining games, who would say we are the best team to finish 2nd? I can't think of many better teams who didn't win the title.

Its not over yet.

I'd say the arsenal team that finished runners up to man utd for a few seasons would be a good shout. might not have got as many points but Thier football was a joy to watch and better than our current style.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? They were boring. They passed for passing's sake.}

It was difficult for Sturridge last night, coming into a settled side with so much time previously spent on the bench. Never easy for any player that.
I believe you’re 100% wrong about Sturridge’s dynamic with Suarez, Ed025. Competitive, yes but from minute 1 after his transfer, Sturridge was excellent for Liverpool and was a major part in the transformation of the team and the subsequent front three counter-attack style that was developed.
At the end of 2013 season Suarez was on another ban, and Sturridge carried the team then.
There’s talk of perhaps USA as his next step.
It’s a shame about his injuries but I’ll remember a fantastic player when he was on it and fit.

{Ed025's Note - i will remember him as a very gifted player with the heart of a mouse juicer, when the going gets tough...he got going to the treatment table mate, kidded the bollox off the club for far too long and should have been ousted at least 2 seasons ago mate...what a waste..

Harsh Ed025.
Although you Evertonians always liked a bruiser up front, Big Dunc, Andy, meat pie head Joe Royle.
Your front three v Liverpool formed an interesting acronym - Calvert, Richarlison And Pickford’s long punts. CRAP 😃
You can tell I’m still not bitter 👍🏻.

{Ed025's Note - i would never accuse you of that juicer...thats our domain mate.. :)
