Thank god some of you weren't in the dressing room at halftime in Istanbul.

Behave yourself. That game is something WE could affect. Those who have given up on the league, like myself, are not negative doom mongers as you paint out. We are realistic. Some of your self righteous lot need to get a grip. The league is gone. “ Burnley will put up more of a fight “ no, no they won’t. They’re not playing for anything. “ Rodgers will win Liverpool the title, Vardy on the counter attack” nope, a straight forward win coming there where Leicester don’t needs any points and city will sit on 80% possession. “ Brighton may need a point to stay in the league” was one thing I’ve read, and well, just reeks of desperation.
We’ve been phenomenal this year and it’s been a hell of a season. Man City’s has been 1 point better though. There’s absolutely no shame in that.

Benny I have no problem with you or others who believe that, everyone's state of mind is different. It's just a shame that you feel that way,! Using words like 'realistic' is something I'm just not ready to accept yet. The minute I feel that way is the minute that I lose all belief and hope.

And many of us aren't giving up on the belief and hope yet, and I actually feel sorry for the fans like yourself waking up this morning with that feeling that the league is gone. It's possible that we will all feel that crushing heartache in the next week or 2 but it's also possible in my mind that the most amazing moment as a fan might still be around the corner.

I'm not letting go of that hope until I need to. It's not like city need 1 point from 3 games, it's not a completely hopeless dream to imagine they can slip up in 1 of 3 games.

Benny you bash optimistic people for trying to remain optimistic? aren't you doing the exact same thing as those calling you negative.

There is every possibility city drop points, you are not the football oracle you don't have to throw your toys out the cot coz people don't adopt your "realistic" attitude towards yesterday's result.

If everyone was rational we wouldn't get so emotional about 22 men kicking a ball into a net.

My view is if we give up it takes pressure off city, we need to keep on their tails and hope for a slip. It looks unlikely but weirder things have happened.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City don’t care if the Liverpool fans “give up” or not. They don’t care.}

I’ve loved this season, it’s not over at all Benny, they just have the advantage, that’s all. Teams blow it on the last day and every day before mate. I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams drop points before the end.

9.) 25 Apr 2019
25 Apr 2019 09:31:35
Why is this idea of giving up even being considered? Nonsense.

10.) 25 Apr 2019

Being a realistic? Are you joking? There is a team out in those 3 which defeated them in the reverse fixture. before that match u would have said be realistic . then what about burnley? They have defeated the previous year champions whenever they have been in epl recently. point is no match is decided before kickoff. let's just get behind the boys. wherever it may take us. coz we are Liverpool.

It’s not about giving up 😂 or keeping hope. This is nothing to do with supporting Liverpool.
You need to understand the league is out of our control. Just because Man City WILL win the league, you automatically think I want to stop supporting Liverpool and don’t want to win our remaining games? 😂
Like klopp said, you don’t support or play just for the holy grail.
Not one of you who say “ keep the hope “ “they can drop points” etc, would go and put your house on Liverpool winning the league. Not one. And that’s my point. Give over the blind optimism. Feel free to prove me wrong and someone go and put a pony on Liverpool to win the league.

Benny, I wouldn’t put my house on city winning it either mate. I’m not sure what your arguing except that your very passionate and passion is always welcome. There will always be a few people who go both extremes. It’s how we deal with things. No one here on this site can argue that we “lost” the league only that man city won it. This isn’t news, look at the points tally. That said, it’s a little unfair to patronize those who believe there is hope and are riding that hope until the final day.

On their day City will beat everyone in the league, they were NEVER going to be complacent in the derby game.
If there was 1 game of their last 4 which I was certain they’d win, it was that one.
However, Burnley away is a tough fixture, they don’t concede very easily, they like to spoil the party, they always play with a physical edge.
Leicester have some big players, it wasn’t long ago they were champions and with a new manager they are playing for their futures.
Brighton are not safe, Chris Hughton knows how to set up a team.

I don’t think City will win their last 3 games.
That being said - Wolves and Newcastle will be tough games for Liverpool and Huddersfield are not walkovers.

Benny mate, as you are so confident in your ability to see into the immediate future (“City WILL win the league”), can you let me have the winning numbers for this week’s Lotto please. I’ll let you have a slice of my winnings.

Not sure about blind optimism, Benny, but you're being blindingly negative. When Klopp told supporters to believe, im sure he didn't mean only when we are on top of the league. there's 9 points left still. City look ruthless but they have had blips before. Throwing the towel in at this stage makes no sense at all, just because City look good. I guess there's no point watching next season either as City’s team will be the same or strengthened. Probably best to give up on the Champions League as Messi will be playing and Barcelona beat Man Utd by more than City did.
Cmon Benny, you're better than this.

16.) 25 Apr 2019
25 Apr 2019 14:31:45
I'm with you Benny.
The odds are in City's favour and they are most likely to win it. That doesn't mean that we can't celebrate the results we've achieved this season. Only losing once so far out of 35 games is phenomenal.
But realistically City will win the league and there is not much we can do about that. Win our games, yes, but it is out of our hands.
After the draws against Leicester and West Ham I'd made peace with us coming second. It probably will happen and fair play to City if they win it.
Probably our best chance until Pep leaves or City get properly punished for the fiddling their books.

17.) 25 Apr 2019
25 Apr 2019 15:16:24
I just don't understand why people are celebrating another failure. facts are facts we will win nothing again this season.
just seems people are happy to settle for 2nd best.

Its not over yet. Leicester took points before, they can do it again. We have a massive chance of winning the European Cup.

Whatever happens, i have been so proud of the team this year and i only see them getting stronger.

Its coming.

Benny, you asking us to be realistic is to me a lack of self belief and courage, as you are afraid to keep your head high, and believe in a good outcome of events REGARDLESS of the unfavorable odds. You may not know this BUT being a true fan, requires you to be an eternal optimist and believe your team can do it. Same thing goes for athletes. They are also eternal optimists who believe things can be accomplished regardless of all the odds.

If that was not the case then how did we overcome a 3-0 deficit in Istanbul? How did we overcome WH in the FA Cup? How did we get to where we got to this season? How did Klopp win all the trophies he has won against all odds? If you are a manager and you are always "realistic" then I promise you, you will not last in that career or even that of an athlete.

You are free to be "realistic" and throw in the towel BUT pls, do not lecture the rest of us just cos you lack the bottle to believe in your team till the very end. After all it's not like City are 5 points ahead with 3 to go. They are ONE point ahead with three to go and we still have a chance and as long as we still have a chance, the rest of us will BELIEVE till the end. You on the other hand, can remain "realistic". Peace!
