I have a feeling the reason we aren't as crazy as that anymore in pressing is because we have a fortified defence.
Like ed1 saying drop back and let them come at us to hit them on the break. Before vvd this would have been suicide so instead we just went all out crazy trying to win the ball back asap and as high up as possible so teams couldn’t attack us. But now we have the confidence and security to sit back when needed even against the best forwards in the world because we know we have a high chance of dealing with them and then a counter attack can come from it :)
