Hiya lad's I forgot that I can post again. Really thought that Spurs would do us a favour but obviously not. Although I didn't see the game to be honest.

Barry long time, hope you and your family are keeping well.
Where have you been hiding?
The city vs spurs game felt like they were voth slightly jaded from the midweek game which was not surprising.
Now we just have to rely on man utd to do themseleves and us a favour.

I think we are still in a really good position. The biggest opportunities for city to drop points are still to come, especially Wednesday. As for Tottenham. they did us a huge favor. If we can focus and get past Barcelona then I’d have to think we are favorites against Ajax or spurs. even if both are not to be laughed at.

I watched it and Spurs were the better team by far. Son and Moura should've had 2 each, and their should've been 2 Spurs penalties for a drag back on Eriksen and also Walker punching the ball out of play as Alli tried to bring it down.
And they say we're the lucky ones!

amazing game last night for very different reasons. Spurs really should have at the least got on the scoresheet. shame for us and them. They better pick themselves up thp, the don't want to be leaving themselves having to win a euripean trophy to get back into europe!

MK sorry in no way were Spurs better yesterday. They had a few good chances and could’ve had a pen. But sterling had the easiest chance of the lot and themselves could’ve had a penalty in the first half when Silva was kicked by Vertonghen. And a Spurs defender handled the ball on the door which was as deliberate as Walkers. City had most of possession and controlled the game. Spurs created a few chances from long balls but Son was isolated most of the game.

Ibiza, guess that's football mate. Everyone sees it differently. I saw a lot of City possession with out many chances created. Spurs caught them out with a ball in behind so many times it was getting Embarassing. Ederson had to make 4 big saves.
I also didn't think the Vertonghen on Silva incident was a penalty. He got the ball first and the player on a natural follow through. Alderweireld handball clearly wasn't deliberate like Walkers was. He didn't even know where the ball was and he didn't gain any kind of advantage. I thought City got the rub of the green and caught the Spurs strikers on a bad day personally so we'll just have to agree to disagree.

I was meant to say, I agree with you that City controlled the game. They dominated the ball and pretty much decided the tempo. There was a good 30 minute spell at the start of the second half that Spurs barely had a kick. But the aim of the game is to create goal scoring opportunities and Spurs had the lions share.
It doesn't matter anyway. City were clinical and showed steel to grind out a result miles from their best; unfortunately.

I personally thought it was quite a dire match. City were in second gear for most of the game and Spurs moved into second gear for about 15 minutes in the second half. You only have to look at their fixture Wednesday to see how both teams can perform when they go for it. I think all 3 penalty incidents would have been harsh if given but with Var I think the Walker one would have been given. Personally I think Spurs approach was all wrong yesterday. A 4-0 loss would have been the same as a 1-0 loss. If they had gone for it they could have ended up on the end of a hammering but on the other hand they could have ended up with 3 points. For me it was an opportunity lost for Spurs and us.

I completely agree with that JK23. It was one team passing it around with little ambition and another just whacking it over the top. I was amazed to see Spurs start 4 centre backs and just play a long ball counter attack. Whilst it nearly worked and was probably worth a point at least, nearly isn't good enough. Although I say they were the better team, that is only because City were awful. Spurs still rolled over to lose to such a lacklustre City. It shows the difference in quality though that City still won comfortably in the end with a clean sheet. If Spurs had approached the match with a more aggressive dynamic I think they could've had a better chance but Man City might have just gone up through the gears as well though, so we'll never know. Bad news for us because winning games like that wins you titles. City still have a tough couple of fixtures left though so hopefully Burnley or Leicester do us a favour 😉.

I watched the game with a Spurs fan. He kept on saying sorry but we’re Spursy! I reckon Ederson should have got MOM. Tottenham had 5 one on ones and the goalie closed the gap so quickly making decent saves. It was his reading of the game that did it. I still cannot believe they didn’t convert at least one of them.
If City do end up winning the league it will be because they were never put under any pressure. They score so many goals in the first 10 minutes it takes all the mental. Anxiety away.

Sterling had the ref holding his hand all game. Three times he went shoulder to shoulder with a defender and was legitimately out-muscled only for the ref to award Raheem the free kick. No wonder he celebrates by sucking his thumb.
