We have to win silverware this year. We absolutely have to. I really think that once we do, we will start another dominant reign to rival the '70's and '80's. The sleeping giant is awaking!

Me too mate, we win the league this year it'll be one of many! but the league isn't enough, let's be greedy and get the CL as well ;) .

i agree salah. i really think and believe we can win a double this year. everyone is afraid of us.

We do need to win something but unfortunately the league is out of our hands. I don't want to be negative and hope I'm wrong but I just can't see anyone taking points off city now. They are too good and have the experience to get through. We have had one of our greatest seasons in the league this year and we should be proud of the team no matter what.

I do think however the champions league is there for us. The double will be incredible, but think the champions league is our most likely trophy this year now.

'everyone is afraid of us'

Exactly mate! and this will be City's downfall, they're afraid of us, pressure will get to them.

Sitting here now, when you think of it, every team really are afraid of playing Liverpool right now because we're that good! on our day we can beat every team out there. Barcelona we'll destroy but it starts with Cardiff tomorrow, bring any team on, we won't roll over. City will and that'll be the difference in this title WIN we're about to achieve.

{Ed025's Note - city are afraid of no one salah, what you fail to grasp my old mate is that liverpool have won exactly nothing yet, the time to start crowing is when they actually do i would suggest, they have a good chance in 2 very high profile competitions but thats it at this time....adele is only just warming up..

5.) 20 Apr 2019
20 Apr 2019 21:51:36
Salah, get real, mate. Neither City or Barcelona are afraid of us. I'm sure they respect us, but afraid? I don't think so. I agree with Ed025, until such time that we win something let's just be modest about things.

Barcelona won’t be scared of us until they get to Anfield and start to wonder why the ground is literally shaking.

Each to their own Rome, but I certainly think differently to you mate.

20 Apr 2019 22:00:45
If city end up winning 14 games in a row they will deserve to win the league but it’s not over yet. Whatever happens now we are set to haul over 90 points in the league and are in the last 4 in Europe, it’s been an incredible year let’s hope we run unbeaten till the end of the year and cap it off with some silverware.

I have NEVER understood this "We have to win something or else" conversation. Saying LFC has to win something is like asking if water is wet. Also, How can we ask Klopp and the boys that they have to win something WHEREAS they approach every game (regardless of who plays) with the intention to win it? It just boggles my mind.

Having said that, there is a possibility that we win the CL or even the PL as well as there is a possibility that we don't win anything this season in spite of ALL the effort our boys and Klopp have put in. These are two realities that I personally, have made peace with cos in the end, it's football. All we can hope for is that our team can overcome the obstacles in front of them and make us proud this season with a big trophy. YNWA!

I’m with you on that Red. You don’t have to win you have to compete consistently. If you do that then you’ll inevitably win something in the end.
The problem you have is that lots of other teams want to win something too and throw obscene amounts of money about to achieve it.

"The problem you have is that lots of other teams want to win something too and throw obscene amounts of money about to achieve it. "

You do know that Liverpool did throw an obscene amounts of money to build the team, let's get away from only other clubs buy trophies because we doing the same . and there is nothing wrong with that . its a competitive league and the owners understand to win it you have to match the spending.

"another dominant reign to rival the '70's and '80's"
================
The days of dominance are far gone . the best you get is like the City or Chelsea scenario where they win it a year or 2 then slip up and then come back . there are 3 to 4 clubs in the premiere league with enough spending power to make it competitive.

13.) 21 Apr 2019

Great post Redwolf. Nail on the head, if we don't win the league we can't possibly be classed as failures or bottlers, our points tally would normally have a league in our grasps at this stage. No fault of ours that city are clinically getting 3 points every week. We've had another great European adventure too and if we win nothing and then people start spouting about klopp not winning trophies it will really irritate me haha, this young team will achieve success even if we just fall shy this year.

Each to their own opinion Ed25 mate but imo they are bricking it because of how close we are. How's things mate? good to see you on here, as always.

{Ed025's Note - i think they deserve great credit salah, yourselves and city have proven to be head and shoulders above everyone else and its been achieved by playing great football as well, i dont think they are bricking it though mate as they have won playing with style and are very entertaining to watch, im good thanks and hope you and the family are too my friend..

20 Apr 2019 22:01:03
I disagree with you Ed025 and Rome, read the comments from Pep. They know that once this team learns how to win, there will be no stopping us. It is right there for a Liverpool revival. All it will take is for this club to win one piece of silverware and then watch out. It will happen.

{Ed025's Note - that may or may not happen this season stone but i must say you have had a great season whatever happens, liverpool are dining at the top table again and its nice to see with them and city having an epic battle for the title...and just think what a great season it will be next year when it will be a 3 horse race with everton joining the party mate.. :)

16.) 21 Apr 2019
20 Apr 2019 22:50:05
have to respectfully disagree ed025. Just read Pep's comments from the last two years about liverpool. They are definitely afraid of us. they most definitely see us as a threat.

{Ed025's Note - of course they do stone you are their biggest threat so thats blatently obvious, whoever wins the title will deserve it mate..

Think we are going way overboard with this 'City are afraid of us' thing. Man to man, they have a much better squad than us and the question remains as to whether we can sustain this kind of form going into next season as well. City are proven champions, we are potential champions.
If you asked Real, Barca, Bayern or Juve who they would rather face between City and us, it would be us. We are one or two major injuries away from falling apart coz our bench tbh is bang average compared to City's. Let's not behave like t**** coz we are yet to even win something and there is always the chance we end the season empty handed. Just enjoy the ride. LFC have no interest in proving a point or announcing their arrival to the Europe's elite. Its all about doing our best and hoping we can win something while being matched up against a very strong City side.
Salah, you sound like one of the Real Madrid fans after their club has gone on a Galactico signing spree btw.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think any of what you say about Real etc has any basis in fact. Those clubs are much happier facing City, their fans would much prefer to face City, as they have never won anything in Europe and are seen as a team that can't quite make the step up.}

18.) 21 Apr 2019
21 Apr 2019 07:35:10
We have not won anything yet so why the need to say other clubs should be afraid of us? Why the need to make big proclamations before the season's even ended? Why not just enjoy the fact we are winning lots of games unlike previous years?
There were so many of us including me last season saying Real would be trembling with fear at the sight of our front 3 in the UCL final? We ended up with egg on our face and poor Karius bore the brunt of our entitlement and frustration.
City are not afraid of us. They just see us as their closest competition and their slight nervousness is probably down to them not being challenged domestically last season and expecting another easy league campaign. It could easily be Spurs or Man utd that take our place as title challenges next season if they sign the right players. I would rather we waited to win a few trophies before mouthing off like Real and Barcelona fans like to do.

{Ed001's Note - who cares? This is such a boring whine for god's sake, let people be excited if they want to be. As for the rest, utter nonsense, Spurs are never going to win the league under Poch, they are miles away from it, unless everyone else folds. Even then they will hand it to Leicester! As for United, they are even further away with Woodward and Ole in charge. Awful football under a cheerleader while being run by a merchant banker with less clue about the game than a 4 year old.

You have turned into Walter. Next you will be backing Arsenal for the treble....}

I have an idea, Stone, Aoe, WY, zed, Ed1 and the others who appreciate how well the team are doing, let's all be miserable and unappreciative, it seems being excited about one of the best teams we've had for years is out of the question these days?

For the record I couldn't care less who disagrees with me, I'm not here to please people, I'm here to voice my opinion and my opinion is City are sh*t scared of us, as are every other team to face us right now. If people disagree that's fine, I'll live lol this is a page full of different opinions, if you can't accept that then bugger off to a page where everybody agrees (good luck in finding it) .

Interesting thread. I don’t think there is any Liverpool fan who is miserable or unappreciative of how Klopp and the team are doing this season. We have been fantastic and to go toe to toe with City we have potentially punched above our weight a little. The fact our front 3 do not miss any games is also huge. I love the comment about the bot winning but the competing competitively as that is so true. Only 1 team can win the trophy and until This season we haven’t competitively competed for the title in some time.

Salah, I follow us home and away, unfortunately I can't get to Cardiff game. I appreciate and understand your enthusiasm and excitement, this is the best side we have had since 87/ 88, but I will refrain from saying such things as City are sh*t scared of us, until we have won the league, be it this year or next.
I will be there screaming my head off, when we do, and maybe shedding a tear. I was there when we last lifted it in 1990 and on all the occasions in the 1980s, when we took it for granted. Don't mistake my tempered attitude with being miserable. I sing as loud as anyone when I'm there, I just prefer to refrain from gloating on social media until we have something to gloat about.

21 Apr 2019 09:01:19
We won the League Cup under Dalglish but this season has easily surpassed that.
If we don't win anything, it's still been a brilliant season and the best for years.
Enjoy it for Fowler's sake.

Happy Easter to you and your family, Salah.
I've said this many times, at the end of the day we all have one thing in common, we just have different ways of expressing ourselves. I probably come across as a miserable old git (which I am! ), but my love for the club is as great as anyones.

All the best to everyone out there, hoping we are euphoric at 6.00pm.

25.) 21 Apr 2019
21 Apr 2019 09:32:40
Hey Salah, who said you are wrong in the way you want to celebrate the way we have been playing this season? I have been having a ball watching us win game after game (which is extremely new for someone like me who wasn't even born during our glory days), but it is also important to not get carried away coz we are one bad week away from ending up empty handed.
If things go awry in the next few weeks, there will be a bunch of fans calling for KLopp and the players' heads because they didn't meet our expectations. We have had a fantastic season by the standards set over the past 3 decades but there is still some way to go to reach the top of the mountain.
The 'City are afraid of us' however will only be valid until we have stamped our authority on the league title at least a few times.

26.) 21 Apr 2019
21 Apr 2019 10:21:36
With regards to teams being afraid of us I personally think that’s wrong. I believe all teams respect our ability and are worried about playing us but the fact that every team raises their game against us shows they are not afraid. When we play the so called lesser teams they are a completely different prospect to what City face and league winning teams of past seasons. The reason they raise their game is because outside of Liverpool no one wants us to win the league. Apparently it’s because of the arrogance of our fans. I would like nothing more than to win the league this season so we can get the monkey off our back. But if we do I will be gracious in victory as I am in defeat.

27.) 21 Apr 2019
21 Apr 2019 10:22:31
No they're not Salah, we're probably pissing them off that they've had to fight so hard to win this title and may end up not winning it, but scared of us. Don't talk nonsense. Is it any wonder why we are the most hated team in the league.

28.) 21 Apr 2019
21 Apr 2019 10:25:52
Thank you very much Rome, happy Easter to you and yours too mate. Hahaha don't worry about it, I'm a miserable old bugger at times too, we're only human but like you say, we all want the best for the club, it's all a journey and we all have our opinions. Just because I have my opinions doesn't make me right or you wrong. It's always good to get into a discussion without people getting daft about things. You take care mate.
