Eds and reds.

How many world class players do we have?

I think we have 7. With the potential to have 3 more in our fbs and dcm.

Salah
Mane
Firmino
Milner
Henderson
Van dijke
Alisson.

I don’t think hendo and Milner are world class. World class for me means they’d get in any team in the world or at least be in the top 4/ 5 in that position. Milner and hendo are great for us, but not in that Bracket.

I wouldn't put Hendo or Milner as "world class". But what is world class? Is it good enough to play for your country or is it the best in the world in that position or as good as Messi and Ronaldo? It's all sudjective. We should just be happy that our team is doing extremely well.

Robbiesline I think it is so hard to define world class as its a comparison against other players as individuals. I think our greatest strength is our team ethos that klopp has instilled into all of our players and staff. I remember everybody questioning whether shaq would be happy being a squad player and you see him sat on the bench game after game but he's jumping for joy when we score. I think if you could put team spirit under the world class bracket then we are leading the way. As individuals I think we have some fantastic players who are lifted further by the players and atmosphere they currently work in. Our collective makes our good players great.

For me, World class has always been the top 10 players in the World for each position. Sounds like a lot, but if you take it in the context of all the professional players registered in the World and playing, it's a miniscule amount of players. Like the top 100 players in a field of hundreds of thousands.

‘Choose the best player for every position and you’ll end up not with a strong XI, but 11 strong 1’s’

- Johan Cruyff

It matters not who is ‘world class’ (whatever that means), who linked with the biggest clubs or has the highest Fifa rating, but how they all combine, as a team, to come together and overcome results. The England National team being a perfect example, had a fantastic pool of players but could never get them to play together!

Maybe if Salah moved to Madrid he would find himself in a different role with less freedom to do as he wants, maybe he wouldn’t even get 15 goals a season; would he still be world class?

Maybe Robertson would be exposed in a team that didn’t have van Dijk in it?

Maybe if Henderson or Milner had never made the jump to a bigger club they would be playing in the championship and nobody would ever notice their quality?

Judging who is ‘world class’ and putting players on some kind of ladder of ability is a very difficult and often subjective thing to do. I have no doubt that with the perfect storm of management, player happiness and team mates you can get something special out of just about anybody. It is all about finding the right piece of the jigsaw to slide into your team at that given moment in time. I think it would be very unfair to the lads to simply list off who is world class and who isn’t because if they didn’t have eachother, they might be playing a whole lot worse.

VakPa. I'd say Fabinho's already there. We just haven't seen it for a sustained period. Who would you have come in to replace Fabinho? N'Golo Kante is the only name I can think of.

The way Fabinho plays reminds me of Zvonmir Boban (is he on the list Ed001? :) ) . The perfect blend of a defensive midfielder and deep lying playmaker into one player.

Hendo and milly are in the top 15 midfielders for me. That means world class in my opinion.

They have both been played out of position but when they get in the area they create goals or score them.

Alot of people disagree, ronaldo and messi are the peak of world class but they're in a league of their own.

I think milly and hendo are world class leaders, world class proffesionals.
