For those of you waiting for eds match analysis. Here is my guess preview.

Klopp got his team right made his changes at the right time.

Alisson looked more assured than of late barring the one mishap with vvd.

Trent good going forward but caught out often with balls in behind him.

Robertson offered good width on the left still yet to prevent a cross.

VVD was not quick enough to react to things happening but had the strength and speed to make up for it.

Matip was a nuisance all game, unfortunately for the wrong team.

Fabinho simply brilliant.

Henderson passionate hard working 1st to every press.

Keita showed some nice touches and runs but was also wasteful at times.

Salah unplayable!

Mane was a constant threat all game.

Firmino can do no wrong in my eyes.

Am I close ed.

Just for banter nothing personal thanks.

{Ed001's Note - fairly close with some things, miles off with a few though!}

CodTown, you're dead right. If we tried a bit harder we could have won.

Matip didn't have his best game but it was far from the worst performance. How many goals have we conceded since he came into the first 11? Not many. Im not saying he is the reason, simply that he can't be that bad or else we would be shipping more goals.

He has been poor in the past but so has origi, and divok has turned it around. I think matip is also turning it around and getting better.

He is a much better cb than he was last season.

You’re absolutely bang on there Robbie. Matip is no VVD but he has done us proud when we needed him.
I don’t know of another team with back up CBs as good as Matip and Lovren.

VVD and Alisson need to make sure there communication is better it’s not 100% at the moment.

I don't get why most are saying origi has turned his career around and should now stay with us. What has he done to change people's minds,? The derby goal and a decent showing against Watford? I genuinely can't think of any other contribution but I could stand corrected?

Har, he’s looked a lot more effective out wide IMO (which is fine with all our front three capable of playing striker) . He’s been direct and created trouble every time he’s come on in the LW position.

Har, Origi has contributed more to the team in recent months than Studge has. Yes, he has turned his career around with us as that is due to his selflessness, work ethic and team ethic. I mean, who would come on in a Merseyside Derby with 10 mins. to go (having NOT played a single minute in the season till that point) and created a chance, hit the post and have the awareness to stick to the play and anticipate the ball dropping to him and scoring the winner? That is NOT luck. That is awareness, determination and desire to contribute as something like that NEVER happens in a vacuum.

There are tonnes of players who would have sulked in his position BUT Origi did not do that. He gave his all and was rewarded for it. Since then, he has come on this season and helped us with goals, assists and he helped us get over the line vs Spurs. Origi has also changed his position to help the team by playing out wide. If Origi wants to go or if Klopp wants rid then fine BUT I would not mind him being kept esp. since Studge is a goner fo sure.

Agreed redwolf. The kop aren't singing "Divock Origi" for nothing. He must make tired defences weep inwardly when he comes on. Height, strength, skill, power and a wicked shot. He has come on miles.

Being tall he offers something different too. He is getting better as are 99% of our team.

My current cult hero - Big Div 👍.

{Ed001's Note - I like him too. I always think anything can happen when he gets the ball. Not always something good or useful but he is one of those players that can produce something from nothing.}

I do like his attitude and have huge respect for him and how he handles himself. I feel though it might be best for him to seek a new challenge. I think he needs regular games. He's got all the attributes, if he could get that confidence of goal scoring runs and become prolific he'd become great but cameo roles for us is no good for the lad. Shame he couldn't get going at Wolfsburg. That season was a great chance for him to step up a level.

{Ed0333's Note - I’m not sure he’ll leave. Him and Brewster on the bench next season would not be shabby.
