Probably get shot down for this and it's been asked before as first choice as he's been linked with us before but when Moreno goes I'd fancy Bertrand as backup / challenger for left back. Not sure if he would come as backup. A lot of posters said he wasn't good enough when at Chelsea but the same people said that about Robertson. I think he would definitely improve our squad and is an upgrade on Moreno.

Why would he leave being first choice at Southampton to come and sit on our bench? He already had that experience at Chelsea.

I'd go for the Fulham kid sessegnon. Provides cover and competition all down the left, something Moreno doesn't.

robbo could just as easily slide down the pecking order as quickly as he rose to the top. whoever we bring, I just hope they are willing to come and compete for that top spot. I'm not sure bringing in someone to "sit on the bench" is a) what we should be doing and b) what Klopp and co will want to do anyways.

Lets give Southampton a break and raid Leicester. Chillwell, maddison and vardy. Offer moreno and sturridge as part of the deal, maybe lallana too.

Twinkletoes, my four year old would be an upgrade on Moreno. Defensively anyways, she can harass and never leave your side, kick with both feet and has crazy stamina and is always communicating what she wants. Perfect footballer tbf.

OP, Bertrand is not even that good anymore. Also, saying he is better than Moreno is like saying he is better than me and I don't even play hence, is not a bar at all. We need someone who can challenge Robbo, not just come in and accept that he will be his deputy. As for the poster who mentioned Chilwell, you can forget that ever happening. He will go to a big club to be first choice and not to compete with anyone. The word is that City want him cos well, Mendy is a) injury prone b) lacks focus) and c) Is more interested in being on instagram and the night clubs than actually caring about his career.
