Love your reviews Ed001 spot on as usual. That match was a proper knife edge Spurs can be very good and beating them on Sunday with Arsenal winning last night has ignited the top 4 race. Hopefully that motivates United and Spurs to get something from City.

{Ed001's Note - it is amazing how the league is still so open this season. Usually it is pretty much done and dusted by now with just maybe a couple of sides squabbling over which top 4 place they get, a couple fighting over the last European place and a relegation battle for most of the rest.}

The sooner Gomez is back and at full fitness, the better!

Aye exciting stuff for us all Ed001 even though it's absolutely nerve wracking.

{Ed001's Note - tell me about it. My superstitions have gone into overdrive. I was bereft last week when my phone wiped the liver bird wallpaper off when it did an update and kept blocking any attempt to put it back up. I was convinced it would cost us if it wasn't put back, but it literally would not let me put a picture up of anything as a wallpaper for some reason. Took me ages to find a workaround.}

Thanks for the write up Ed. I thought Lucas Moura looked lively on Sunday and we had some trouble keeping up with him. Happy to get the 3 points we needed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

I feel you Ed. I watched the game in this seasons Liverpool home shirt. I normally wear last seasons. After Spurs scored I realised this and changed over.

No need to thank me!

I am slowly losing my head. Cannot take 6 more games of this.

Thanks for the review as always.

{Ed001's Note - I am just glad you noticed! No wonder we nearly blew it. The shirt you wear is crucial.}

Really good review - thought our midfield did well first half and controlled the half spaces completely, but agree 100% needed a change earlier once the Spuds had worked it out and started to push down the wide channels. I felt Fabinho made a huge difference to turning the tide, and I also really like Origi playing out wide at the moment, seems very direct and forces the issue, and he won us a couple of late corners. think he might just be a wildcard in one or two games before this is all over! Matip was poor. really need Gomez back in the side as he reads the game so much better. Alison also starting to look a little nervy in the last few games. hopefully just a blip though!

Salah is proving a bit of a conundrum at the moment. I wrote on here a few weeks ago he scores so many because of the chances he creates, not because he’s a clinical finisher, and I think that’s definitely playing out now and his confidence is really low as a result. I though when Spuds equalized he’d blown it when he failed to slip in Mane, as that would have wrapped things up, but thankfully (as you say) his head never goes down and be forced the goal through sheer will. I really hope he scores soon and that opens the flood gates. I get the feeling once he breaks his duck he could be the boost that fires us home!

I’m not sure I can take much more of this. the 7 or 8 minutes after Fulham scored and the last 15-20 against Tottenham have taken years off me. It’s like being on a rollercoaster ride where someone’s told you they may not have completed the track so you have no idea how it’s all going to end.

{Ed001's Note - I love the analogy at the end!}

I was out of the room for the first goal so when we got a corner in the 90th minute I left the room again and we scored.
You’re welcome.

I don't know what this room is Smeg but stay out of it.

Good read Ed. I'm glad you made that point about Milner. Henderson gets criticized way too much. I'd bet if Allison let in a roller between his legs, Henderson would be blamed for it.

Good read Ed001.

I really think we lost control of the midfield in 2nd half, for me the legs had gone on all three. Maybe the International games took their toll.

We’ll certainly need to get the levels back Friday night, Southampton are playing well and have pace in their side.

Have to wear my Liverpool shirt and sit in a specific chair for every Liverpool game. The one game I didn't get to sit in that chair was the 2-0 defeat to Red Star Balgrade (The only match in all competitions we lost by more than 1 goal and also the only match in the entire season where Allison was beaten outside of the box)

Thankfully the defeat had no severe consequences besides even more nerves.

Great review, Ed. Initially, I was resigned to the notion that Klopp's "tried and tested" midfield three no longer works BUT I take that back cos well, it did work in the first half even tho some passes went astray and also, it did not look like either of them knew to stay in front of the defence to protect it as Spurs kept finding themselves behind the midfield and in front of the defence. You rightly addressed this in the review as Hendo should have just stayed in front of the back 4 for the most part.

I fully agree that at this stage, the perf. has now become irrelevant . It's all about the three points now, end of. I know we have to always try and play well cos well, it gives you a better chance of winning. However, we need to keep improving our performances while at the same time, remain hungry and eager to get the three points in the next games cos that gives us our best chance of winning the PL.

Smeg, can you just keep out of the room for every single game until the end of the season please? lol.

Great review Ed,

Matip, oh Matip is just one of them for me, I can't relax when he's on the pitch, the sooner Gomez is back the better because Matip scares me half to death every single time he plays.

Thanks mate.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate, thanks.}
