I don't know what the likelyhood is of us even thinking of resigning Courtinio, but I am a bit confused about the financial deal when we sold him. As I understand it Barcelona still owe us some money and this in turn was depending on appearances and success. Perhaps I am totally wrong and I am sure the Edds could enlighten me. What effect would this have on how much we would pay if we decided to sign him
,

{Ed002's Note - It would make no difference to what Liverpool would have to pay. Barcelona have to finish paying the transfer fee regardless. Any additional future payments due to appearances and performance would not be paid if he were sold, be it to Liverpool or anyone else.}

This is one of the risks when agreeing transfers with multiple additional clauses and payments.

Its also the reason that we should always defer to the Eds when thinking about the money side of things as there's few who seem to understand the complexities and implications of the finances surrounding transfers.

I think quite a few people, including some of the Ed’s, questioned the value of the deal and potential loss to LFC when it was publicised

Looked great in essence- but was strewn with risk in terms of clauses met to release extra money owed.

Probably LFC making it look like they got a fantastic deal for someone who plainly wants to leave.

Good PR- but now deal doesn’t look as good as it once did.

i'm not usually fussed about this, but I wonder what the angle is when people are insinuating that the deal was not as good as presented. like, what was the alternative? keep an unhappy player? sell him to another club for a better deal (that may not have been there? )

I don’t think anyone has said keep him
The deal was portrayed as coming to a certain amount- but was never likely to reach that amount given clauses required

That’s all.

Eds 02 walked us through the deal before, it was something in the region of 100/ 110 mill paid in installments with extras based on appearance's, winning leagues, champions leagues learning to gravitate ect, in total 142 million.

{Ed002's Note - The agreement is in Euro not GBP.|

Thanks to Edd02 for his reply and other subscribers comments I don’t believe we will sign him or he would come but I wonder why you would entertain such arrangements.

Cheers Eds 02, personally I don't want him back and doubt Klopp does either, but it seems that Barcelona want shot of him, where do think he will go next.

I don’t know why we, as fans, pay such attention to the financial side of things. It’s just so complex that it’s on a completely different level of understanding to the majority. Granted there will be one or two who are well versed through their background.

Yes, exactly my thoughts too Ron. The financial side of things are completely irrelevant to us as fans.

With you there, Ron and Salah. I couldn't be arsed about all the bean-counting stuff that much and even tho I don't mind knowing a bit about it, I don't go out busting my arse trying to know every detail.
