Hi Eds do you think we might hold on to Origi for next season? Could allow Brewster to settle into the squad and I think Origi's shown enough this season to give it some thought especially one particular game.

{Ed001's Note - yes mate, it looks like Origi has worked his way back into Klopp's thinking. Obviously it depends on him and what offers come in during the summer, and the last month or so of the season. Right now, as things stand, I expect him to stay though.}

Isn't Origi's contract up in June 2020? If we are not going to give him a new one, might as well cash in now. If he gets a new contract and has earned Klopp's trust, it spells the end for Sturridge and possible Shaq (if Klopp is planning on adding someone like Brandt) with OX also back fully fit for next season.

{Ed001's Note - Sturridge is only here because no one would take him in the summer or January window.}

Wow! Didn't know Sturridge's stock is that low at this point of time!
The good thing is we have a ready made replacement in Brewster waiting in the wings.
The majority of our transfer budget has to go on upgrading our backup fullbacks (Moreno is leaving and Klopp will never play Clyne again) as an injury to either Robbo or TAA basically robs our team of serious width and then allows the opposition defenders to defend narrow and gang up on Salah and Mane. Its no surprise Salah's form has picked up again after TAA's return from injury.
Would also love to see a creative CAM/ wide midfielder to cover Mane and rotate with OX. If we can get these 3 positions sorted, we should be able to challenge on all fronts next season.

Thats good to hear Ed001 I've liked his attitude and desire when he's played and he can clearly improve a lot more. And are you excited about Brewster's arrival into the team for next yeae Ed001? I cannot wait I really think the kid has something and looking at the positives of that bad injury he's coming back at the right time now to get more match fit and take pre season by storm along with Ox. My pre season prediction is that those two develop a nice partnership and destroy a few teams :)

{Ed001's Note - I am not excited because I have not seen enough of him play to get excited by him to be honest.}

Hopefully you can see a lot of him in pre season!

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed.}

Can’t believe people are thinking Brewster is the answer when no one has seen him play any competitive games. This is what embarrasses me about Liverpool supporters, far to early to judge the lad and people are piling pressure on him. He’s had a good spell in the youth ranks but will he be able to step up? Hopefully, but if you want to challenge for the title and major honours then pinning your hopes on a kid who hasn’t done anything is stupid! We need to be making signings that better the team and if our kids are good enough they’ll give Klopp enough of a headache and force their way in just like fowler, getrard, carragher and the poison dwarf Owen did. Until then I’d like proven players to improve the squad because apart from Trent and sterling who else has come through lately and made the grade?

As for Origi it’s a shame but the lad isn’t good enough in my opinion, he’s getting game time as he’s the best option at the moment, says a lot about our squad depth! But again if you want to challenge for major honours he’s not of the right quality. Can you see him getting into any of our rival teams? I cant.

pegleg - we're not going to get 4 or 5 players of salah / mane standard for that front line. origi is here and giving it a good bash.

Who said four or five players? Look at city and therir squad depth, if you want to seriously challenge them you need to have better quality on the bench, I’m sorry but Origi isn’t good enough.

I don't understand what you're saying pegleg, is it wrong to believe in a youngster and want him to have the chance to step up? You can't expect us to spend and spend. I see an opening for Brewster in the squad not straight into the first 11. You talk about Sterling and Trent who people also believed in, hadn't played competitive games but were given a chance to step up and took it - we have youth teams for a reason. As for pinning my hopes on Brewster? I'm not saying I expect him to displace Firmino, score 30+ goals and fire us to the league. I expect more like trent's first full season at 18/ 19yo where he got around 20-30 games giving him time to grow and show his quality without massive pressure. Ultimately Klopp will judge if he thinks he can step up. I don't think its embarassing to believe one of our kids can make it.

Pegleg, Origi is part of the Liverpool squad that is 1 point off the top of the PL and in the quarter final of the CL. Isn’t that ‘challenging for major honours’?

Not sure what will be the toughest task, winning the premiership or injecting a bit of positivity into Pegleg.

I was calling for us to sign Sturridge way before any rumours started. Thought he'd be great and he was. Had the ability to become World class.

He is always going to score goals, he just knows where the net is and he can kick a ball as well as anyone. But he is not at our level anymore. The 30 yard chip, the curler in the europa league. He will do well at Leicester or wolves. His heart isn't in it anymore, although I will miss his celebration. It really pisses off the opposition. I think we need to offload in summer, at whatever cost.

Origi on the other hand I had written off completely last season. But he has something that none of our other players have in that position. Height, strength and speed, combined with a wicked shot. definitely a keeper for me. Its not like aguero or kane are going to come and sit on the bench. We need a young, talented forward to push mane and firmino and we have him on origi.

And he scores against the blues. For that alone keep him.
