not saying we should buy him but do you think him playing alongside someone like van dijk who keeps on his case for 90 minutes would be of help to ake to help keep that focus he slightly lacks.

Like Robbie above, I feel he could play alongside Van Dijk too.
He’s got similar assets to Gomez, principally that recovery speed.
Midfield? Defensive midfielder?

Van Dijk can play either side and, as you said, Ake is a good footballer who can play multiple positions too.

{Ed001's Note - no he cannot. That was something that was tried with him at Southampton and was a complete mess. He was uncomfortable on the right. He would tell you the same himself, he is a left sided centre back.}
