A Positive thing to come out of being the "Hunter", we would normally be chasing 4th spot and that would currently leave city ten points ahead of Spurs. What that means now is because we are right on the tails of city "He has to play his best eleven now in every Premier league Match" he cannot afford to play a weakened team! ( unless of course we implode), and also because they are still in two cups, the best thing to aid our cause is that they get to the finals of both cups and obviously Lose! the extra games will drain the legs, possibly 3 more FA Cup games and "Seven" extra Games if they get to the Final in European Cup plus 9 to play in Prem means they could have 19 Games to play which in effect is "Half a Premier Season" and only March/ April and two weeks in May is a hell of a lot of Games plus International Fixture.
Any other season City would be able to keep players fresh for the League? CUP but because we are "NIGGLING/ HARASSING/ NOT GOING AWAY"" the luxury of players having a rest towards the end of the season has gone, they say that when marathon runners get tired its not because of the legs/ body, but the mental state of the Mind? .
So let's keep the Pressure/ Heat on and the MIND might Crack then the Legs. We once won a League Title against Wolves on the last day of a Season, History has a habit of repeating itself, no way this is over, NO WAY! Its only just Started.

P. S. The more games you play also increases your chances of more injuries/ Suspensions!

We were 7 points clear at one stage and now hoping city to pick up suspensions and injuries! That’s how good we have been since January!

Harry why wish injuries on their players? that's not on. I'd like to think the majority of Liverpool fans are wanting the league without having to rely on City getting injuries!

We were only 7 points clear because city had a blip. Now it’s our turn for a blip so city have caught up. There’s ONE point in it.

This is a function of going out of the cup, losing sharpness and momentum.

Klopp’s gamble = Liverpool have a sedate Jan/ Feb and a storming March-May.
Pep’s gamble = City storm Jan and Feb and cling on over March - May.

I think having a 7 point lead has allowed Klopp to take this risk, it will get interesting in the last 4 games 👍.

The problem with the original post is that it suggests that if City had been 10 points clear they would be playing a weakened team. But this doesn't tie in with reality.

At the end of last season City were playing their strongest team in pretty much every league game regardless of the fact that they were so far ahead the results wouldn't have mattered.

As has been pointed out before City have looked jaded, but at the moment they are also able to grind out results, something we haven't been able to do so far in 2019.

The fact is that City have so much quality we really need to win every single one of our games to win the league. This is certainly possible, but on current form will be very difficult.

It's time to just go hell for leather now, we need to blow teams away and keep the pressure on City. The better we look the more nervous they'll get and nerves lead to mistakes.

RedDawn for starters, we ground out a win vs Palace and Brighton in 2019 so there's that. Secondly, I agree with you that City have looked jaded and with the way their players are dropping like flies, and with more games to play than we do, it may only just get worse for them while our players will be coming back for the run-in.

As Ed25 says, we are in a very good position regardless of our troubles of late. The good thing is that now, we can settle down and just go for it in games now cos well, we've bottled it, yeah? And if City screw and we can make hey with that then as you say, they will start getting desperate and mistakes could happen. We shall see.
